Airbus is included on a list of defense stocks favored by analysts polled by FactSet.No matter when the shooting stops and Russia's war in Ukraine comes to an end, it seems clear from actions taken by European countries that we're entering a period of increased defense spending.Below is a screen of aerospace and defense stocks of European and U.S. companies, showing the ones most favored by analysts polled by FactSet.The STOXX Europe Total Market Aerospace and Defense Index has risen 5% this year and is up 14% from its 52-week low on Dec. 15. You might be surprised to see that the index is actually down 20% from its high on Feb. 11, 2020. Here's a 10-year chart:FactSetMeanwhile, the S&P 500 aerospace and defense subsector is up 11% for 2022, up 23% from its 52-week intraday low on March 3, 2021, and down 5% from its 10-year intraday high on Feb. 10, 2020.Here's a 10-year chart for the S&P 500 aerospace and defense subsector:FactSetAerospace and defense stock screenWith political attitudes changing in Western countries, a long-term increase in defense spending seeming likely, and defense stocks not having risen as much as might have been expected after Russia launched a major war in Europe, this is a good time for investors to consider this subsector.In order to come up with a broad list of stocks to screen, we began with the 25 companies in the STOXX Europe Total Market Aerospace and Defense Index and then added the components of these two U.S. ETFs:The iShares U.S. Aerospace & Defense ETF ITA has $2.72 billion in assets and holds 32 U.S. stocks. It is highly concentrated, as the stocks are weighted by market capitalization with a cap at 22.5% for any one holding when the portfolio is rebalanced quarterly. According to FactSet’s most recent data, Raytheon Technologies Corp. RTX, makes up 22.9% of the portfolio and the top five holdings make up 55% of the portfolio.The SPDR S&P Aerospace & Defense ETF XAR takes a more balanced approach, aiming for a portfolio with a mix of 40% large-cap stocks, 40% mid-cap stocks and 20% small-cap stocks. The fund holds shares of 30 U.S. companies and its top five holdings make up 24% of the portfolio.Adding together the holdings of the two U.S. ETFs, removing duplicates and then adding the components of the STOXX Europe Total Market Aerospace and Defense Index produces a list of 60 companies.Among the 60 companies, 42 are covered by at least five analysts polled by FactSet.Narrowing further, here are the 10 aerospace and defense stocks with majority \"buy\" or equivalent ratings that analysts expect to rise the most over the next year. The unemployment rate dropped to 3.6%, a new two-year low while average hourly earnings rose 5.6% on a year-over-year basis.The report heightened expectations that the central bank is likely to become more aggressive in raising interest rates as it seeks to curb inflation as it unwinds its easy monetary policy.\"Job gains were broad, more people are going back to the office,\" said Brian Jacobsen, senior investment strategist at Allspring Global Investments in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.\"If other data between now and the next Fed meeting stay this rosy, the Fed will likely feel comfortable hiking by 50 basis points and announcing an aggressive rundown of its balance sheet.\"The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 139.92 points, or 0.4%, to 34,818.27, the S&P 500 gained 15.45 points, or 0.34%, to 4,545.86 and the Nasdaq Composite added 40.98 points, or 0.29%, to 14,261.50.The defensive real estate, utilities and consumer staples were the best performing sectors on the day, with each rising more than 1%.For the week, the Dow slipped 0.1%, the S&P edged up 0.1% and the Nasdaq advanced 0.7%.Expectations for a 50-basis point interest rate hike at the central bank's May meeting stand at 73.3%, according to CME's FedWatch Tool.At its March meeting, the Fed raised rates by 25 basis 25 basis points, its first hike since 2018, and a host of central bank policymakers have indicated they are prepared for bigger rate hikes.Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans said on Friday he does not see a big risk in using \"some\" half-point rate hikes to bring borrowing costs to neutral sooner as long as the objective was not to raise rates much faster and push them higher.Other data on Friday showed U.S. manufacturing activity unexpectedly slowed in March, although it remained firmly in expansion territory, as tight supply chains continued to put upward pressure on input prices.In the wake of the payrolls report, U.S. Treasury yields jumped and a closely watched part of the yield curve between two-year and 10-year notes, seen by many as a reliable indicator of a recession, inverted for the third time this week.The S&P 500 closed out the first quarter on Thursday with its biggest quarterly decline since the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. was reaching full swing on concerns about rising prices, fueled further by the war in Ukraine, and the Fed's response could slow economic growth. However, stocks rebounded somewhat in March, as the benchmark index gained 3.6%.April tends to be a strong month for stocks, with its last monthly decline in 2012. Here’s what could send AAPL past the milestone.

The 2022 selloff in Apple stock may finally be over. After stringing together 11 consecutive trading days of gains, the Cupertino company’s equity is within striking distance of being valued at $3 trillion once again.

Below, we discuss how far AAPL currently is from the milestone. We also present the potential near-term catalysts that could take Apple stock to all-time highs very soon.

Figure 1: Apple Stock: One Good Day Away From $3 Trillion.

AAPL: the road to $3 trillion

I have recently estimated that Apple will likely have 16.4 billion diluted shares outstanding at the end of the current quarter, which is only a couple of days away. This being the case, a share price of $183 would be enough to value AAPL at $3 trillion.

To get to these levels from the current intraday share price of $178, Apple stock would need to climb a mere 2.8%. For instance, shares jumped 3% on March 15 alone. Therefore, the stock could be only one good day of solid gains away from the key market cap figure.

The key short-term catalysts

It is a near certainty that Apple will only be able to reach a $3 trillion market cap soon if the broad market continues to find support. After entering correction territory earlier in 2022, the S&P 500 (SPY) has been rebounding strongly.

There are a few factors that could push the entire stock market higher from here:

The conflict in Ukraine takes a turn for the better (i.e., it head towards resolution);

Crude oil prices continue to dip from the recent highs;

Inflation plateaus at around 7% to 9% and begins to moderate;

The Fed delivers the rate hikes that the market expects — not much more or less;

The US economy continues to show signs of strength;

Investors grow more confident that valuations have become attractive.

A few company-specific catalysts could also play a role here. The most important, by far, is calendar Q1 earnings season, which is set to kick off in only a couple of weeks. Apple’s earnings day is likely four to five weeks away.

Keep in mind that Apple will start to face eye-popping comps in the current quarter. For instance, iPhone revenue growth this time last year reached an impressive 65%, for a two-year stacked annualized rate of 24%. Can the Cupertino company top that in fiscal 2022?

Regardless of headline numbers, it will be interesting to hear from CEO Tim Cook and team on a number of topics that could be bullish for AAPL stock. Among them:

Are the supply chain constraints starting to ease?

How have consumers received the most recent product launches?

Is the recent Academy Awards win fueling demand for Apple’s services?

The bad news

Things are definitely starting to look better for Apple stock and its investors. Here’s what could send AAPL past the milestone.The 2022 selloff in Apple stock may finally be over. After stringing together 11 consecutive trading days of gains, the Cupertino company’s equity is within striking distance of being valued at $3 trillion once again.Below, we discuss how far AAPL currently is from the milestone. We also present the potential near-term catalysts that could take Apple stock to all-time highs very soon.Figure 1: Apple Stock: One Good Day Away From $3 Trillion.AAPL: the road to $3 trillionI have recently estimated that Apple will likely have 16.4 billion diluted shares outstanding at the end of the current quarter, which is only a couple of days away. This being the case, a share price of $183 would be enough to value AAPL at $3 trillion.To get to these levels from the current intraday share price of $178, Apple stock would need to climb a mere 2.8%. For instance, shares jumped 3% on March 15 alone. Therefore, the stock could be only one good day of solid gains away from the key market cap figure.The key short-term catalystsIt is a near certainty that Apple will only be able to reach a $3 trillion market cap soon if the broad market continues to find support. After entering correction territory earlier in 2022, the S&P 500 (SPY) has been rebounding strongly.There are a few factors that could push the entire stock market higher from here:The conflict in Ukraine takes a turn for the better (i.e., it head towards resolution);Crude oil prices continue to dip from the recent highs;Inflation plateaus at around 7% to 9% and begins to moderate;The Fed delivers the rate hikes that the market expects — not much more or less;The US economy continues to show signs of strength;Investors grow more confident that valuations have become attractive.A few company-specific catalysts could also play a role here. The most important, by far, is calendar Q1 earnings season, which is set to kick off in only a couple of weeks. Apple’s earnings day is likely four to five weeks away.Keep in mind that Apple will start to face eye-popping comps in the current quarter. For instance, iPhone revenue growth this time last year reached an impressive 65%, for a two-year stacked annualized rate of 24%. Can the Cupertino company top that in fiscal 2022?Regardless of headline numbers, it will be interesting to hear from CEO Tim Cook and team on a number of topics that could be bullish for AAPL stock. Among them:Are the supply chain constraints starting to ease?How have consumers received the most recent product launches?Is the recent Academy Awards win fueling demand for Apple’s services?The bad newsThings are definitely starting to look better for Apple stock and its investors. However, the good news (i.e. the recent share price rally) comes alongside bad news for those who chose not to buy AAPL when the price was more attractive, a mere couple of weeks ago.I have stated repeatedly that buying Apple stock on the dip has historically proven to be the best decision. Unfortunately, the opportunity that stayed on the table for most of 2022 is no longer.At only about 2% to 3% below all-time highs, investors that buy AAPL now must be comfortable with the idea of jumping in near a historical peak.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":328,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9010448293,"gmtCreate":1648459851448,"gmtModify":1676534340242,"author":{"id":"4108560907165920","authorId":"4108560907165920","name":"Funyuan","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4108560907165920","authorIdStr":"4108560907165920"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cool","listText":"Cool","text":"Cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9010448293","repostId":"1138520287","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1138520287","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1648446221,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1138520287?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-28 13:43","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Apple Stock: Warren Buffett’s Forever Holding","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1138520287","media":"The Street","summary":"Years ago, Apple stock wouldn’t have appealed to Warren Buffett. Cohen also owns 9.8% of Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY).

Cohen recently gained three seats on Bed Bath & Beyond’s board. As a result, he is now fighting a war on two fronts. BBBY stock is down more than 9% on the news.

If Cohen is smart, he’ll stop the war on two fronts and focus on GameStop. If you’re an investor, I would caution against buying either stock. If Cohen’s not careful, he’ll hold the bag for both GameStop and Bed Bath & Beyond.

Here’s why.

Ryan Cohen Is No Warren Buffett

The idea for my commentary today is not original. Yahoo Finance editor-at-large Brian Sozzi recently reported some of the comments of Loop Capital Markets analyst Anthony Chukumba regarding Ryan Cohen’s large investments in both companies.

Here’s what Chukumba had to say about GameStop:

“He bought a big stake in GameStop. He became the chairman. He brought in all these executives and board members. The stock went up a ton. But have the fundamentals of the business gotten any better? Any better at all? The answer is no. And by the way, the stock peaked at $483. It’s now down to about $150,” Sozzi reported on April 12.

In February, I pointed out that savior Cohen sold Chewy (NYSE:CHWY) long before it proved it could consistently make money. I also said that his claim Chewy would have been successful no matter what products it sold fails to recognize that the pet care industry is one of the most stable in North America. So he hardly picked a tough one.

GME stock has rebounded nicely in recent weeks — it’s up 64% over the past month — as the meme stock investors piled back into Cohen’s original turnaround target.

In March, GameStop reported decent Q4 2021 sales — up 6.2% over Q4 2020 to $2.25 billion — with an adjusted loss of $1.86 a share, well off the analyst estimate of an 85-cent profit.

The company had nothing but good things to say about its strategy to transform GameStop’s business. If nothing else, Cohen is a good promoter.

GME Stock + BBBY = Potential Bloodbath

As I said in the intro, Bed Bath & Beyond reported a 92-cent loss in the fourth quarter, 96 cents worse than the consensus estimate. BBBY stock jumped 34% on March 7 after Cohen revealed his stake in the retailer. Its share price is now down 18% from its March 7 close.

So, Cohen now has two money-losing businesses to turn around. It’s tough enough to achieve success once. But he wants to do it twice. At this point, the smart investor would realize the probabilities of Cohen being successful on both are slim.

Chukumba is equally unimpressed by Cohen’s BBBY play:

“It’s the same thing with Bed Bath & Beyond. He bought a stake in Bed Bath & Beyond, but he said you can easily take this thing private. No you can’t. He also said the market cap of buybuy BABY is more than the entire market cap of the company. Wrong once again,” Sozzi reported. “Let’s rid ourselves of the notion he is the next Warren Buffett, the emperor has no clothes.”

He’s 100% on the mark.

The man has done little to alter either business, yet he’s ready to fight a war on two fronts. Unfortunately, this scenario has only one end — a bad one from where I sit.

Chewy’s Not Looking So Hot

Before ignoring my warning about betting on Cohen, remember that Chewy’s most recent quarterly report was a stinker. The company lost 15 cents a share in Q4 2021, seven cents worse than analyst expectations, while revenues were $2.39 billion, $30-million shy of the consensus.

For all of 2021, Chewy finished with a net loss of $73.8 million. It did make money on a non-GAAP adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) basis, but $6.6 million less than a year ago and with an adjusted EBITDA margin of less than 1%.

The smart thing Ryan Cohen’s done up to this point in his business career was to sell Chewy when the getting was good. That makes me think of Mark Cuban and the sale of Broadcast.com for $5.7 billion at the height of the dot-com bubble in 1999. Only Cuban took those winnings and built an empire, including the Dallas Mavericks.

Cohen’s proven he’s no Warren Buffett or Mark Cuban. The S&P 500 hit an all-time intraday high in early January, but closed the first quarter of the year with its biggest quarterly decline in nearly two years. Individual stocks, of course, plunged too. While that's scary, you could build a lot of wealth in the long term if you buy the dip, provided you know where to look. Here are three no-brainer stocks that have tanked in recent months you'd want to buy now and hold.

The growth potential here is unmistakable

Caught in the sell-off of growth stocks, Upstart Holdings stock has lost more than one-third its value this year, and a staggering 66% of its value in the past six months, as of this writing. It's true that Upstart stock ran up too high too fast, but it's also true that the company is growing rapidly and sitting on trillion-dollar opportunities. If you believe in Upstart's growth story, now's the time to buy.

Upstart uses artificial intelligence to analyze more than 1,000 data points per borrower to screen them and assess the risks of lending. So while lenders like banks can use Upstart's services to originate low-risk loans, potential borrowers can get quick loans at low rates. It's a win-win for both sides. Much of the process is automated, and Upstart also doesn't have to bear credit risks as it doesn't lend money but only helps originate loans in return for a fee.

Upstart's numbers for 2021 reveal stunning growth:

Revenue up 264% to $849 million.

Income from operations up 1,097% to $141 million.

Net income up 2,164% to $135 million.

Such high growth rates may not be sustainable, but Upstart won't stop growing given the markets it is targeting. After unsecured personal loans, Upstart has already entered auto loans and tapped top automakers like Volkswagen as initial clients. Upstart is aiming for small-dollar and small-business loans next, and expects to enter mortgage lending in 2023.

The mortgage market alone is worth at least $4 trillion based on originations, while the auto loan market is worth more than $700 billion. That's massive, and one of the biggest reasons why Upstart stock looks so appealing right now.

This megatrend could make early investors a fortune

If you're ever stuck about where to start when it comes to investing, look out for megatrends, or structural shifts that could change the dynamics of an industry. Even better if the industry is critical to the economy. And then, find top players poised to ride the megatrend. Case in point: renewable energy and Brookfield Renewable Partners.

In the U.S. alone, solar and wind accounted for 80% of all electricity capacity addition in 2020, up from under 30% in 2010, according to Statista. Brookfield Renewable is one of the world's largest pure-play renewable energy companies with a portfolio spanning hydropower, solar, wind, and battery storage operations across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Brookfield Renewable earned record funds from operations (FFO) per unit in 2021 and ended the year with a whopping global development pipeline of 62 gigawatts (GW), including 15 GW in late-stage development. It also had $4.1 billion in liquidity at the end of 2021 to invest in growth. What I really like about the company, though, is its strategy to recycle capital, or simply sell assets as they mature and reinvest the proceeds opportunistically in assets with higher returns potential. Brookfield Renewable has executed well so far going by its FFO growth.

With FFO, shareholder returns have risen too -- between 2013 and 2022, Brookfield Renewable's dividend grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6%.

The company is targeting 5%-9% annual dividend growth in the long term, which when combined with Brookfield Renewable's 3% dividend yield almost assures you 8% returns right away if you own the stock. With the Russia-Ukraine conflict sending prices of oil and gas soaring and compelling more nations to shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy to secure future energy needs, the upside for Brookfield Renewable shares looks stronger than ever now.

First mover in an industry with exponential growth potential

Teladoc Health is another stock that's been hammered but has solid growth potential. Teladoc is the world's largest telehealth company and offers virtual primary care as well as chronic disease management services.

It's true that the COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the biggest drivers of the telehealth market, and that Teladoc's pace of growth will likely decelerate as economies open up. Yet, the global telehealth market was worth around $144.4 billion in 2020 according to Fortune Business Insights, and most research firms project it to grow by at least a 30% CAGR in the coming few years.

TDOC data by YCharts

Teladoc, on its part, expects revenue to grow at a CAGR of 25%-30% between 2021 and 2024. The company generated $2 billion in revenue in 2021, up 86% from 2020. Visits on its platform rose 38% to 15.4 million last year.

After its bumper acquisition of chronic disease management company Livongo in 2020, Teladoc is now focused on other high-potential areas like mental healthcare and is targeting higher revenue per member through multiple product offers. In fact, more than 40% of Teladoc's members had access to multiple products in 2021 versus fewer than 10% in 2017, including primary care, general medicine, mental healthcare, expert medical, nutrition, and dermatology.

There's ample room and multiple levers of growth for Teladoc, and the stock has fallen so hard so fast that it's hard to argue with the current price.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Buy the Dip: 3 Stocks to Buy in April and Hold for the Next 3 Years
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nBuy the Dip: 3 Stocks to Buy in April and Hold for the Next 3 Years\n
\n
\n\n\n2022-04-08 09:00 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
2022 has been a roller-coaster ride for investors so far. Tesla handed over about 308,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter, which was its best performance to that point.

Deliveries are one of the most closely watched metrics at Tesla: They underpin the Austin, Texas-based company’s financial results and are widely seen as a barometer of consumer demand for EVs amid a shift away from the internal combustion engine. Tesla handed over about 308,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter, which was its best performance to that point.Deliveries are one of the most closely watched metrics at Tesla: They underpin the Austin, Texas-based company’s financial results and are widely seen as a barometer of consumer demand for EVs amid a shift away from the internal combustion engine. While many large automakers will announce U.S. sales results Friday, Tesla, which reports global totals, has not specified a release date.Despite another potential delivery record, the past quarter presented challenges for Tesla. The company suspended production at its Shanghai plant amid uncertainty over the city’s pandemic lockdown and ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, which could drag on sales.“We see the recent China Covid flare-ups as a potential risk to the downside, given Tesla deliveries are typically weighted toward the end of the quarter,” said analyst Dan Levy of Credit Suisse. He expects the delivery tally to come in at 307,000, slightly shy of the prior quarter.The Tesla Gigafactory under construction in Austin, Texas, on Feb. 1.Photographer: Thomas Allison/BloombergTesla assembles its Model S, X, 3 and Y vehicles at a plant in Fremont, California. It also produces the Models 3 and Y at a factory near Shanghai, which makes cars for China and Europe. The company has begun delivering the first Model Ys from its new plant near Berlin and will have a “Cyber Rodeo” for 15,000 people to celebrate a new factory in Austin next week.A strong delivery number could provide a boost to Tesla’s stock, extending a rally that has pushed its market value back above the trillion-dollar mark. The EV maker’s deft navigation of the supply-chain crisis, plans for a stock split and plant openings have helped shore up investor sentiment.Through Thursday’s close, Tesla’s shares were in positive territory for the year, something that wasn’t true of the S&P 500 Index or automakers such as General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co.Tesla’s stock has also performed much better than that of EV startups Rivian Automotive Inc. and Lucid Group Inc.Tesla was little changed at 9:44 a.m. Friday in New York.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":387,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9065660984,"gmtCreate":1652188414148,"gmtModify":1676535048003,"author":{"id":"4108560907165920","authorId":"4108560907165920","name":"Funyuan","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4108560907165920","authorIdStr":"4108560907165920"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cool","listText":"Cool","text":"Cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9065660984","repostId":"1194462386","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1194462386","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1652172853,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1194462386?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-10 16:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. Stocks To Watch: Novavax, Electronic Arts, Fox, Sysco and More","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1194462386","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Wall Street expects Fox Corporation to report quarterly earnings at $0.49 per share on revenue of $7","content":"

Wall Street expects Fox Corporation to report quarterly earnings at $0.49 per share on revenue of $7.84 billion before the opening bell.
