The main factor behind this has been a spate of analyst upgrades for shares in the China-based electric vehicle (EV) maker.

Confidence is rising again that the company’s production ramp-up will result in a big jump in sales for the rest of 2022, and going into 2023. Yet before you decide to jump in, and chase its recent rally, it’s hardly a lock that results in the coming quarter will live up to today’s elevated hopes.

The ramp-up may still fail to produce results in line with expectations. This may cause the stock to give back recent gains. In the long term, Nio’s global expansion could also fall short of expectations. With high growth heavily priced in, it may not take much for today’s renewed bullishness to reverse.

Why NIO Stock Has Surged Post-Earnings

Nio may have beat on revenue for the second quarter, but the results were hardly much to get excited about. As expected, China’s pandemic shutdowns continued to decelerate growth, on a year-over-year basis, and especially on a sequential basis.

Even worse, the EV maker reported a higher-than-expected net loss. Compared to the prior year’s quarter, net losses per share were up 316.4%. Still, instead of reacting negatively to Q2 results, the market focused instead on the company’s outlook for Q3, which calls for a speeding back up of growth.

This resulted in a slight uptick for NIO stock right after earnings but analyst upgrades sent shares soaring. As InvestorPlace’s Eddie Pan reported Sep 12, two analysts (Deutsche Bank’s Edison Yu, and BofA’s Ming-Hsun Lee) have reiterated their “buy” ratings, and have upped their price targets.

Both analysts are bullish deliveries will re-accelerate considerably during Q4. This is due to a combination of the production ramp-up, plus Nio’s launch of new vehicle models. Yet while the situation may be improving, it may not be to the extent implied by the stock’s latest spike.

How Its Latest Uptick Could Reverse

As buzz returns to NIO stock, it may seem that now’s the time to buy, ahead of a continued comeback. Unfortunately, there’s a lot to suggest that its latest surge may be short-lived in nature. With its move back above $20 per share, the market has now priced in a possible growth re-acceleration as a near-certainty.

For the stock to keep moving higher, or at the very least avoid moving lower, Nio needs to both hit its own Q3 deliveries projection, plus hit Q4 numbers in line with the sell side’s expectations. Hitting its Q3 target may be attainable. Its monthly delivery numbers since June have come in above 10,000. Q4, though, may be a taller order.

In order to meet Edison Yu’s 2022 estimate, Nio needs to deliver 57,000 vehicles between October and December. That’s nearly double projected Q3 deliveries.

With increased production, new models, and Chinese government incentives, this may seem like a cinch. However, other factors, like China’s economic slowdown, could somewhat counter these positives.

In turn, causing delivery numbers for the months ahead to fall short of expectations. Even if it’s a near miss, it may cause the stock to give back its recent gains.

The Verdict on NIO Stock

Nio stock earns a D rating in my Portfolio Grader. Beyond pulling back in the short term, shares could also keep performing poorly in the coming years. Long-term bulls believe high growth will continue. Even as growth in its home market returns, they are confident international expansion will keep it in high-growth mode.

But only time will tell whether its first big expansion overseas (in Europe) proves successful. It may face greater competition in the China market. In Europe, it faces not just market leader Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), but competition from incumbent European luxury brands as well.

Failure in Europe may result in it scrapping its North American expansion plans. Without global expansion, it will be difficult for Nio to sustain, much less grow, its current valuation.

Given the downside risk of it failing to deliver in the coming quarter, you may not want to chase the recent NIO stock rally.

","source":"investorplace","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Latest NIO Stock Surge Will Be Short-Lived
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe Latest NIO Stock Surge Will Be Short-Lived\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-09-15 23:21 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Nio stock back above $20 per share after analyst upgrades.Despite the renewed bullishness, shares in the China-based EV maker could easily give back these latest gains.Given the downside risk if Nio ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来","09866":"蔚来-SW","NIO.SI":"蔚来"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2022/09/beware-the-latest-nio-stock-surge-will-be-short-lived/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1105919895","content_text":"Nio stock back above $20 per share after analyst upgrades.Despite the renewed bullishness, shares in the China-based EV maker could easily give back these latest gains.Given the downside risk if Nio fails to deliver, you may not want to chase this recent rally.Despite mixed quarterly results, Nio (NYSE:NIO) stock has been on the rise following its Sept. 7 earnings release. But with several Chinese tech giants hitting multiyear lows, the question is whether Chinese stocks have now hit rock bottom.Investors scurried to the exit gates but calling the sell-off “disconnected from fundamentals,” J.P. Morgan’s chief global markets strategist Marko Kolanovic certainly thinks now is a good time to lean into Chinese stocks.“China growth data surprised positively over the weekend, but their equity market is selling off strongly,” said Kolanovic. “We believe this is a good opportunity to add given an expected growth recovery, gradual COVID reopening, and monetary and fiscal stimulus.”With this in mind, let’s delve into the TipRanks database and take a look at two stocks which sold off sharply but whose prospects remain sound, according to the experts. Alibaba shares fell by 12.5% in the rout, while Nio’s shed 16%. Both, however, are rated as Strong Buys by the analyst consensus and predicted to deliver triple-digit returns over the coming year. Let’s see why the analysts are getting behind these two beaten-down names.Nio (NIO)We’ll start in China’s fast-growing electric vehicle sector, where Nio has been delivering working EVs for the past four years. Currently, Nio has six EV models on the market, ranging from mid-size sedans to 5-seater SUVs, and the company has also pioneered Battery as a Service (BaaS) battery swapping technology to save customers time and money. Nio has benefitted over the past few years from the active policy of the Chinese government to promote the use and consumer switch to EVs, and its total deliveries last year, 91,429, were up 109% year-over-year.At the same time, Nio’s shares in New York are down 70% year-to-date. Those share losses have come while Nio held its revenues steady, at or near $1.55 billion, from 4Q21 through 2Q22. The September release of the Q2 numbers showed $1.54 billion at the top line, but a net loss of $412 million, the deepest quarterly loss since 3Q21. Q2’s vehicle deliveries, reported at 25,059, were down 2.8% sequentially – but were up more than 14% y/y.In a more recent data release, made public early this month, Nio reported its September monthly deliveries and its 3Q delivery totals. For September, the company delivered 10,878 vehicles, slightly more than 1/3 of Q3’s 31,607 total deliveries. The Q3 total was a quarterly record for the company, and was up 29.3% from 3Q21.In his coverage of Nio’s stock for Deutsche Bank, analyst Edison Yu takes cognizance of Nio’s strong sales and sees the stock gaining ground going forward.“We think two factors will drive outperformance at NIO, allowing it to emerge as a leader among EV upstarts. First, the ET5 mid-size sedan could become a top-selling premium model (amongst EV and ICE) in short order with initial customer reception being exceedingly positive and production leveraging NIO’s new plant. Second, while NIO’s existing gen-1 products are older and more expensive than competing products, they continue to deliver relatively stable volumes; we believe this represents thoughtful pricing and emphasis on branding+service,” Yu opined.“We believe the company’s efforts around user experience, battery swapping, overseas expansion, and internal battery cell development go very much underappreciated and will eventually show clear differentiation as the local Chinese market gets increasingly competitive,” the analyst added.Yu’s upbeat stance on NIO shares backs up his Buy rating, and his price target of $39 indicates his belief in a robust 290% upside for the coming year.Overall, the Strong Buy consensus rating on Nio is backed up by a unanimously positive 7 analyst reviews. Shares in Nio are trading for $10.09 and their average target of $32.97 implies a 226% upside over the next 12 months.Alibaba Holdings(BABA)For the second stock we’ll look at, we’ll turn to the online retail sector, where Alibaba has built a reputation and a niche as China’s e-commerce giant. While China has a lower internet penetration than most Western nations, its far larger population means that Alibaba’s domestic customer base exceeds 800 million. The extreme anti-COVID policies that China implemented this year hurt Alibaba, just as they hurt China’s economy generally, and the forecasts for the company’s last reported quarter – Q1 of fiscal 2023, the quarter ending on June 30 – were full of doom and gloom. Alibaba, however, reported a Q1 top line of $30.7 billion, beating the forecast by just over 1%. Nevertheless, as a reflection of difficult operating environment, the revenue print was flat year-over-year for the first time in the company’s history. The overall revenue number was negatively impacted by a 1% drop in Chinese e-commerce, the company’s largest segment, but that was partly offset by a 10% gain in the Cloud services segment. These results brought the company $1.62 in earnings per share (American Depositary Shares, traded in New York), a result that was down 29% y/y – but was also up 47% from the previous quarter, which had featured more extensive COVID-related restrictions.Turning back to Deutsche Bank, we’ll check in with Leo Chiang, who writes of BABA, “We believe that global macro challenges have continued to weigh on BABA’s topline growth across its various business lines (e.g., China ecommerce, cloud, and international commerce) in Sep Q. However, we anticipate a meaningful margin improvement (driven by cost optimization via new initiatives), making adj. EBITA turn positive yoy in the quarter (earlier than our previous expectation).”“In the near term, while we believe that BABA’s topline recovery may continue to fluctuate due to macro uncertainties, we remain confident in its earnings resilience, helped by its strong cost optimization efforts…. we see upside potential from a faster-than-expected macro improvement,” the analyst added. To this end, Chiang gives BABA shares a Buy rating, along with a $140 price target that suggests a 121% upside on the one-year time frame.Similarly, other Wall Street analysts like what they’re seeing. All 11 of the recent analyst reviews on file for Alibaba’s stock are positive, backing up the shares’ Strong Buy consensus rating. The stock is trading for $63.20 and its $144.18 average target implies a gain of 127% in the coming year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":39,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9964983045,"gmtCreate":1670050660188,"gmtModify":1676538295989,"author":{"id":"4109430001390510","authorId":"4109430001390510","name":"candy2003","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/55703bea19527bf411eee01e6236ac67","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4109430001390510","authorIdStr":"4109430001390510"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Then you slowly wait. The macro-level and company-specific conditions simply don’t favor an investment in Nio, so feel free to stay on the sidelines for now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":425,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3584079457608282","authorId":"3584079457608282","name":"FGP","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/4f96275867e9fcc09f90747c0edcd143","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"idStr":"3584079457608282","authorIdStr":"3584079457608282"},"content":"Let them wait till moon change to square shape 🤭","text":"Let them wait till moon change to square shape 🤭","html":"Let them wait till moon change to square shape 🤭"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9938962399,"gmtCreate":1662544544012,"gmtModify":1676537084875,"author":{"id":"4109430001390510","authorId":"4109430001390510","name":"candy2003","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/55703bea19527bf411eee01e6236ac67","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4109430001390510","authorIdStr":"4109430001390510"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Time to stock up more in my portfolio ","listText":"Time to stock up more in my portfolio ","text":"Time to stock up more in my portfolio","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9938962399","repostId":"1186085180","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1186085180","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1662543461,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1186085180?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-09-07 17:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO's Q2 Revenue was $1,536.6 Million, Net Loss was $411.7 Million","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1186085180","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"NIO today announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022. For one thing, consumer discretionary stocks are among the hardest hit.The market's fixation on peak inflation and how many times the Federal Reserve could hike interest rates is giving way to recession fears, according to Paul Christopher, head of global market strategy at Wells Fargo Investment Institute. That shift was seen over the past week, as stocks sank amid investor worries over consumer spending trends, said Christopher, in a phone interview.\"The market is finally starting to price in realistically a recession,\" he said. For now, the mood of consumers has proven as hard to pin down as market entries and exits. The slump has been \"very difficult to sit through,\" said JJ Kinahan, chief market strategist for online brokerage firm Tastytrade Inc., in a phone interview. \"It's like going in and boxing day after day, getting your butt kicked, but you haven't been knocked out yet. So you have to go back in and box again.\"Stocks have not yet seen a \"big low,\" and because the market is vulnerable to a bear-market rally, sell any \"rips,\" advised investment strategists at BofA Global Research, in a May 19 note.On Friday, the S&P 500 index traded into bear-market territory yet avoided closing there as it eked out a gain in a mixed close for U.S. stocks. Still, the S&P 500 and other major benchmarks suffered another week of losses, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average booking an eighth straight weekly decline for its longest losing streak since April 1932.In a May 18 note, Wells Fargo Investment Institute said it was adjusting its equities guidance and price targets for a \"likely\" recession, upgrading the utilities sector to \"neutral\" from \"most unfavorable.\" Utilities are considered defensive, unlike the consumer-discretionary sector, which Wells Fargo downgraded to \"unfavorable\" from \"neutral,\" according to the note.Consumer discretionary was the worst performing sector of the S&P 500 index Friday, closing lower and booking a seventh straight week of declines for its longest losing streak since July 1996, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Here are Wells Fargo's equity sector preferences, as seen in its May 18 report.WELLS FARGO INVESTMENT INSTITUTE'Sticky' inflation\"Inflation is hitting purchasing power,\" said Christopher. \"It's so sticky,\" he said, \"that it's going to be with us for a while, even after the Fed raises rates.\"Profit misses in earnings results reported by Walmart Inc. and Target Corp. this past week sparked investor concern that high inflation is crimping consumer spending, while eating into companies' profit margins. Shares of Walmart plunged more than 19% in the past week and Target plummeted around 29%.\"Unfortunately, gasoline prices bounced back up to another record high in May and with inflation rampant across most categories, people are spending more money on fewer items,\" said Beth Ann Bovino, U.S. chief economist for S&P Global Ratings, in emailed comments on May 17.When S&P adjusted U.S. retail sales in April for inflation, \"a frightening split has appeared over the last year, and has only gotten wider through April,\" said Bovino.S&P GLOBAL\"Purchasing power has been squeezed, particularly for low-income households,\" she said. \"While savings stored up during the pandemic has given households a cushion to absorb these higher prices, eventually these buffers run thin.\"Although the labor market remains strong, new U.S. jobless claims during the week ending May 14 climbed to a four-month high. Marauding The Bears","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2223836313","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Investment ThesisNIO Inc. (NYSE:NIO) reported solid FQ4 results, but Q1 delivery guidance came below","content":"

Investment Thesis

NIO Inc. (NYSE:NIO) reported solid FQ4 results, but Q1 delivery guidance came below estimates. In addition, the company highlighted macroeconomic uncertainties exacerbated by the increasing COVID-19 lockdowns in China. Therefore, the market initially reacted by sending the stock plunging. However, it didn't lead to a downward spiral as dip buyers absorbed the impact.

Furthermore, NIO stock has continued to stabilize around the current levels despite these near-term headwinds. In addition, we also discussed in our previous article that NIO stock's growth valuation had been burst. The reaction post-earnings corroborated our observation that investors are starting to move beyond near-term headwinds. Furthermore, the company also telegraphed that it's expected to achieve breakeven by Q4'23.

Therefore, we believe that the case for adding exposure to NIO stock has improved tremendously. It's time for the bulls to raid the bearish bets on NIO stock and help it recover its mojo. Still, until the line of sight to profitability becomes clearer, NIO stock would remain a speculative bet in our portfolio.

What To Expect After Earnings?

NIO deliveries by month (Company filings)

NIO reported FQ4 revenue of 9.9B yuan, or $1.6B, up 49.1% YoY. It was also above consensus estimates of $1.5B. However, its consolidated gross margins fell to 17.2%, lower than consensus estimates of 17.6%. But, its vehicle gross margin remained robust, as it improved to 20.9%. It also improved against FQ3's 18% and last year's 17.2%. Notably, NIO's robust vehicle margins came amid the current uncertainties in its supply chain, as NIO CEO William Li highlighted (edited): "Although the user demand and order momentum remains strong, the production and delivery have been affected by COVID and the volatility of the supply chain."

As a result, NIO telegraphed only 25.5K (mid-point) in deliveries for CQ1'22, ending in March. NIO had posted deliveries of 9.65K in January and 6.13K in February. Therefore, its guidance implies March's deliveries of 9.72K, which alluded to pretty tepid momentum. Nonetheless, we concur that NIO needs to be more circumspect with its estimates, given recent flaring COVID-19 cases in China. Therefore, it could continue to affect its delivery momentum in the near term.

NIO Stock Key Metrics

NIO stock EV/NTM Revenue (TIKR)

Nevertheless, we believe that NIO's growth premium has been digested over the past year. It's trading broadly in line with its peers, XPeng (XPEV) and Li Auto (LI), and also China's leading EV and battery maker, BYD Company (OTCPK:BYDDF). Hence, we think the bears are running out of space to run since the massive capitulation in Chinese EV stocks two weeks ago. It demonstrated clearly that investors are ultimately still rational actors. Therefore, we believe that NIO investors are turning their attention to its long-term outlook moving ahead, despite near-term headwinds.

What is NIO's Long-Term Outlook?

NIO revenue YoY change % & GAAP operating margins % (S&P Capital IQ)

NIO's 49.1% revenue growth represented a marked deceleration against last year's phenomenal metrics. Furthermore, its aggressive investments in SG&A and R&D spending have also overshadowed its gains in revenue. NIO highlighted that R&D grew 120.5% YoY, and SG&A expenses increased by 95.4% YoY. Nevertheless, NIO is still very much in growth mode. Therefore, investors should not be surprised that the company continues to dedicate significant resources to expanding its R&D capability and footprint. Notably, the company's European experiment has proven to be highly successful. Li articulated (edited):

In the global market, ES8 has gained popularity with our customers in Norway. This year, our monthly deliveries have ranked within the top 2 among the 6-seater or 7-seater passenger cars. Therefore, we are confident in expanding our footprint. In 2022, NIO will bring its products and comprehensive services to Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. (NIO's FQ4'21 earnings call)

NIO consensus estimates (S&P Capital IQ)

Therefore, investors need to exercise patience and afford more time for the company as it penetrates the massive European EV market further. Consequently, NIO accentuated that it would "step up" its R&D spending in 2022. It sees tremendous opportunities to invest in core technologies and adapt its products to fit its markets better. Notably, the company expects these investments to improve its leverage significantly. Therefore, NIO has targeted FQ4'23 for breakeven and reaching profitability in FY24.

Consensus estimates also concur with NIO's guidance. Furthermore, the Street expects NIO to turn profitable on adjusted EBIT terms in FY23, a year ahead of the company's guidance. The company is still expected to post significant topline growth, up 73.3% in FY22. Therefore, we believe that the company's ability to optimize its operating efficiencies will depend greatly on meeting those aggressive estimates.

Is NIO Stock A Buy, Sell, Or Hold?

We consider NIO a speculative investment, given its lack of GAAP operating profitability, and aggressive growth estimates. Furthermore, we need to observe a strong manufacturing ramp and delivery cadence on its new ET7, upcoming ET5, and ES7. These three products would be critical in helping NIO refresh its offerings and lift its delivery outlook in H2'22 and into FY23.

Therefore, we encourage investors to continue paying attention to its supply chain developments in China. (NYSE:NIO) reported solid FQ4 results, but Q1 delivery guidance came below estimates. In addition, the company highlighted macroeconomic uncertainties exacerbated by the increasing COVID-19 lockdowns in China. Therefore, the market initially reacted by sending the stock plunging. However, it didn't lead to a downward spiral as dip buyers absorbed the impact.Furthermore, NIO stock has continued to stabilize around the current levels despite these near-term headwinds. In addition, we also discussed in our previous article that NIO stock's growth valuation had been burst. The reaction post-earnings corroborated our observation that investors are starting to move beyond near-term headwinds. Furthermore, the company also telegraphed that it's expected to achieve breakeven by Q4'23.Therefore, we believe that the case for adding exposure to NIO stock has improved tremendously. It's time for the bulls to raid the bearish bets on NIO stock and help it recover its mojo. Still, until the line of sight to profitability becomes clearer, NIO stock would remain a speculative bet in our portfolio.What To Expect After Earnings?NIO deliveries by month (Company filings)NIO reported FQ4 revenue of 9.9B yuan, or $1.6B, up 49.1% YoY. It was also above consensus estimates of $1.5B. However, its consolidated gross margins fell to 17.2%, lower than consensus estimates of 17.6%. But, its vehicle gross margin remained robust, as it improved to 20.9%. It also improved against FQ3's 18% and last year's 17.2%. Notably, NIO's robust vehicle margins came amid the current uncertainties in its supply chain, as NIO CEO William Li highlighted (edited): \"Although the user demand and order momentum remains strong, the production and delivery have been affected by COVID and the volatility of the supply chain.\"As a result, NIO telegraphed only 25.5K (mid-point) in deliveries for CQ1'22, ending in March. NIO had posted deliveries of 9.65K in January and 6.13K in February. Therefore, its guidance implies March's deliveries of 9.72K, which alluded to pretty tepid momentum. Nonetheless, we concur that NIO needs to be more circumspect with its estimates, given recent flaring COVID-19 cases in China. Therefore, it could continue to affect its delivery momentum in the near term.NIO Stock Key MetricsNIO stock EV/NTM Revenue (TIKR)Nevertheless, we believe that NIO's growth premium has been digested over the past year. It's trading broadly in line with its peers, XPeng (XPEV) and Li Auto (LI), and also China's leading EV and battery maker, BYD Company (OTCPK:BYDDF). Hence, we think the bears are running out of space to run since the massive capitulation in Chinese EV stocks two weeks ago. It demonstrated clearly that investors are ultimately still rational actors. Therefore, we believe that NIO investors are turning their attention to its long-term outlook moving ahead, despite near-term headwinds.What is NIO's Long-Term Outlook?NIO revenue YoY change % & GAAP operating margins % (S&P Capital IQ)NIO's 49.1% revenue growth represented a marked deceleration against last year's phenomenal metrics. Furthermore, its aggressive investments in SG&A and R&D spending have also overshadowed its gains in revenue. NIO highlighted that R&D grew 120.5% YoY, and SG&A expenses increased by 95.4% YoY. Nevertheless, NIO is still very much in growth mode. Therefore, investors should not be surprised that the company continues to dedicate significant resources to expanding its R&D capability and footprint. Notably, the company's European experiment has proven to be highly successful. Li articulated (edited):In the global market, ES8 has gained popularity with our customers in Norway. This year, our monthly deliveries have ranked within the top 2 among the 6-seater or 7-seater passenger cars. Therefore, we are confident in expanding our footprint. In 2022, NIO will bring its products and comprehensive services to Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. (NIO's FQ4'21 earnings call)NIO consensus estimates (S&P Capital IQ)Therefore, investors need to exercise patience and afford more time for the company as it penetrates the massive European EV market further. Consequently, NIO accentuated that it would \"step up\" its R&D spending in 2022. It sees tremendous opportunities to invest in core technologies and adapt its products to fit its markets better. Notably, the company expects these investments to improve its leverage significantly. Therefore, NIO has targeted FQ4'23 for breakeven and reaching profitability in FY24.Consensus estimates also concur with NIO's guidance. Furthermore, the Street expects NIO to turn profitable on adjusted EBIT terms in FY23, a year ahead of the company's guidance. The company is still expected to post significant topline growth, up 73.3% in FY22. Therefore, we believe that the company's ability to optimize its operating efficiencies will depend greatly on meeting those aggressive estimates.Is NIO Stock A Buy, Sell, Or Hold?We consider NIO a speculative investment, given its lack of GAAP operating profitability, and aggressive growth estimates. Furthermore, we need to observe a strong manufacturing ramp and delivery cadence on its new ET7, upcoming ET5, and ES7. These three products would be critical in helping NIO refresh its offerings and lift its delivery outlook in H2'22 and into FY23.Therefore, we encourage investors to continue paying attention to its supply chain developments in China. We expect the European market to offer long-term potential but is unlikely to move the needle much in the near term.Nonetheless, we believe that a significant level of pessimism has been baked into NIO stock. As such, we think it's time for the bears to get out of NIO or risk getting marauded subsequently.Consequently, we reiterate our Buy rating on NIO stock.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":111,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":186903854731416,"gmtCreate":1686670257607,"gmtModify":1686678205846,"author":{"id":"4109430001390510","authorId":"4109430001390510","name":"candy2003","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/55703bea19527bf411eee01e6236ac67","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4109430001390510","authorIdStr":"4109430001390510"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ <v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>","listText":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ <v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>","text":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/186903854731416","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":394,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9965907797,"gmtCreate":1669865786619,"gmtModify":1676538259818,"author":{"id":"4109430001390510","authorId":"4109430001390510","name":"candy2003","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/55703bea19527bf411eee01e6236ac67","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4109430001390510","authorIdStr":"4109430001390510"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$HAIDILAO(06862)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>","listText":"$HAIDILAO(06862)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>","text":"$HAIDILAO(06862)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9965907797","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":82,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
