International book day is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what books have made a difference to is. I believe these four books are worth reading a thousand times:- The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Eric Carle): A seminal meditation on consumer behaviour, the role of short-term greed vs sustainable resource use, and transformative growth- Piccolo Pepperoniโ€™s Perfect Pizzas (Jane Cornish): A case study in competition vs differentiation, sustainable growth, and market mastery vs overcapitalisation- 1984 (George Orwell) and Brave New World (Aldous Huxley): Both outstanding but contrasting views of potential threats to freedom. People can be motivated by fear/pain and by pleasure
