Those shares cost $370 apiece, an investment report showed. He sold those shares at a loss in early September 2018, he said, after it had become clear Tesla wouldn&#39;t go private.</p><p>Mr. Fries said he understood when he bought Tesla stock that a deal hadn&#39;t been completed. However, he added, &#34;I had felt that the funding had already been vetted, because the tweet said, &#39;funding secured.&#39;&#34;</p><p>A lawyer for Tesla and Mr. Musk has said his team had chosen not to enforce subpoenas calling on representatives of Saudi Arabia&#39;s PIF to testify. The sovereign-wealth fund didn&#39;t respond to a request for comment.</p><p>After Mr. Musk tweeted that he had funding secured to take Tesla private, a top representative for the fund texted the Tesla CEO, court records show.</p><p>&#34;PIF remains interested in potential investment opportunities that are consistent with its investment strategy and the EV space is one of interest,&#34; the PIF representative said on Aug. 10, 2018. The PIF representative added two days later, &#34;Let&#39;s see the numbers and get our people to meet and discuss.&#34;</p><p>U.S. District Judge Edward Chen, who is overseeing the trial, ruled last year that some of Mr. Musk&#39;s statements about potentially taking the company private -- such as &#34;funding secured&#34; and &#34;investor support is confirmed&#34; -- weren&#39;t true. Judge Chen also found that Mr. Musk acted recklessly in sending those tweets.</p><p>Jurors are being asked to decide, among other issues, whether the tweets were material to investors and whether the misrepresentations caused investors to sustain losses. We found numerous research teams that corroborated this forecast. We believe the cloud market will grow faster in Asia and emerging markets as it is still in the beginning stages of adoption. I’m thus exceptionally bearish; here’s why.</p><p><b>Stock Split Analysis</b></p><p>Amazon executed its20-for-1 stock split over the weekend in an attempt to make its stock more investable to the retail crowd. Although the split could add some value, it seems as though most of the benefits were already priced in leading up to the event, with AMZN stock rising by more than 12% in the last month.</p><p>It’s likely that institutional investors were the ones that speculated on the stock split and that actual post-split retail buying won’t suffice. I say this because retail market participation continues to wane, and AMZN’s stock split momentum peaked pre-event.</p><p>Even if we flip the scenario around and assume that AMZN’s stock split will result in a bullish trend, it’s still unlikely that it would make that big of a difference. According to a Cambridge University published study, the market underreacts to stock splits, which means that the stock split price anomaly remains a folk tale rather than objective theory.</p><p><b>Cyclical Headwinds</b></p><p>Although it remains open to debate, Amazon’s primary exposure is to the cyclical consumer goods market. The company’s e-commerce platform, which still accounts for roughly 44% of the business’ revenue, is inextricably linked to the real economy. Thus, the bulk of Amazon’s sales will likely fade if the yield curve’s implied interest rates materialize. The intuition here is that a series of increases in the benchmark interest rate would contract the economy, in turn reducing cyclical good spending.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/19fd989191761ed4f02868f215297844\" tg-width=\"1437\" tg-height=\"618\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"/></p><p>Source: Gurufocus</p><p>On the upside, I see Amazon Web Services (around 16% of its total revenue mix) as a breadwinner due to its secular growth properties. However, AWS is a long-run valuation consideration and won’t significantly affect the stock until it takes up a larger part of AMZN’s total revenue.</p><p><b>Relative Valuation Concerns</b></p><p>Amazon stock is overvalued on a relative basis. Firstly, AMZN stock is trading at 1.98x its sales and 15.81x its cash flow, conveying that the stock’s overvalued on both an accrual and a cash basis. Furthermore, AMZN’s price-to-earnings ratio of 47.62x implies that the market overestimates the company’s earnings-per-share capabilities.</p><p>I don’t see Amazon’s overvalued price multiples justified by growth. Sure, the company holds a strong market position, but its growth is relatively disappointing if it’s considered that AMZN’s earnings-before-interest-and-tax (EBIT) growth is projected at only 13.86% for the next year. Elon Musk has provided new details on what the third part of the Tesla Master Plan will include.</p><p>After the success of its first two stages, both fans and investors are expecting big things.</p><p><b>What Is the Tesla Master Plan?</b></p><p>“My day job is running a space transportation company called SpaceX, but on the side I am the chairman of Tesla Motors,” Musk stated in a Tesla blog post on Aug. 2, 2006. The post, titled “The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me)” outlined his vision for the company. It focused on turning Tesla into an industry powerhouse, providing drivers with a wide range of electric vehicle(EV) models.</p><p>Ten years later in July 2016, Musk released the second phase of the Tesla Master Plan. While TSLA stock is back in the green today, it has not shaken its May volatility as a new month takes shape. The Tesla stock split is coming, but now investors have something else to be watching. Elon Musk has provided new details on what the third part of the Tesla Master Plan will include.</p><p>After the success of its first two stages, both fans and investors are expecting big things.</p><p><b>What Is the Tesla Master Plan?</b></p><p>“My day job is running a space transportation company called SpaceX, but on the side I am the chairman of Tesla Motors,” Musk stated in a Tesla blog post on Aug. 2, 2006. The post, titled “The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me)” outlined his vision for the company. It focused on turning Tesla into an industry powerhouse, providing drivers with a wide range of electric vehicle(EV) models.</p><p>Ten years later in July 2016, Musk released the second phase of the Tesla Master Plan. With auto production moving along, his focus now included areas such as solar roofs, integrated battery storage and full self-driving (FSD) technology.</p><p>It hasn’t been another ten years, but Musk discussed the Tesla Master Plan Part 3at a company meeting. <i>Electrek</i> reports that when a staff member asked about the master plan’s next phase, Musk laid out the following:</p><blockquote>“Master Plan Part 3 is all about achieving very large scale. Elon Musk has provided new details on what the third part of the Tesla Master Plan will include.After the success of its first two stages, both fans and investors are expecting big things.What Is the Tesla Master Plan?“My day job is running a space transportation company called SpaceX, but on the side I am the chairman of Tesla Motors,” Musk stated in a Tesla blog post on Aug. 2, 2006. The post, titled “The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me)” outlined his vision for the company. It focused on turning Tesla into an industry powerhouse, providing drivers with a wide range of electric vehicle(EV) models.Ten years later in July 2016, Musk released the second phase of the Tesla Master Plan.
