In many cases, downturns can be sudden, with little to no warning, as was the case with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, investors end up losing money on paper though it’s important to keep perspective: Certain growth stocks can be screaming buys during market meltdowns.

To be clear, it’s impossible to say with absolute certainty that we’re on the precipice of a bearish cycle. However, rising inflationseems to suggest that a recession is on the horizon. What many folks apparently forget is that the blistering inflation of the 1970s and early 1980s was at least partially justified from population growth. Today, we’re suffering frompopulation decline, which exacerbates the expansion of themoney stock.

Overall, this circumstance is net negative for growth stocks and so far, the technicals have reflected the fundamental backdrop. Nevertheless, for the bold contrarian, the present juncture provides a time-capsule opportunity if you missed the boat the first time around.

If that’s you, below are potentially promising growth stocks to consider.

SMR

NuScale Power

$9.43

FVRR

Fiverr

$39.34

SQ

Block

$80.11

ZS

Zscaler

$135.07

TNXP

Tonix Pharmaceuticals

$2

BYND

Beyond Meat

$26.62

APLD

Applied Blockchain

$3.81

NuScale Power (SMR)

On paper, NuScale Power(NYSE:SMR) hardly provides any discount at all. Entering the public market via a reverse merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), SMR stock is only down less than a dollar from its initial offering price of $10 per unit. But what it lacks in an outright price cut, it more than makes up for in sheer relevance.

NuScale specializes in advanced nuclear power technology, specifically a platform called small modular reactor (SMR). Unlike traditional nuclear energy facilities, SMRs — as their label suggests — feature a much smaller physical footprint, enabling their integration into spaces that previously could not accommodate their larger counterparts. In addition, SMRs utilize state-of-the-art safety mechanisms, making them appropriately viable solutions to current energy needs.

And make no mistake about it, nuclear is a vital component of the broader energy discussion. According to the Office of Nuclear Energy, the underlying power source commands acapacity factor of 92.5%, far higher than any other source. That’s why SMR is one of the highest-conviction growth stocks to buy.

Fiverr (FVRR)

As expected, the fading fear of the Covid-19 pandemic (at least here in the U.S.) has many entities in broader society seeking normalization, including the workplace. Upper managementwants employees back in the officewhile worker bees are putting up a fierce resistance. The thing is, without Covid-19, businesses might not be in a mood to accommodate their employees’ entitlement complex.

In the my-way-or-the-highway battle between employers and employees, the former has the leverage and the resources. But that doesn’t mean worker bees must acquiesce, which brings up Fiverr(NYSE:FVRR) as one of the growth stocks to buy.

A freelancer marketplace, Fiverr helps connect professionals with enterprises that have short-term specialized needs to cover. This setup enables people to participate in the gig economy remotely while contracting companies receive critical services.

It’s a win-win, except for FVRR stock, which is down over 64% year-to-date through the May 26 session. Though analysts might not like Fiverr’s outlook, contemporary labor force dynamics may potentially be favorable for the burgeoning gig economy.

Block (SQ)

Formerly known as Square, Block(NYSE:SQ) has long been one of the most relevant growth stocks to buy because of the underlying game-changing service. By primarily providing point-of-sale solutions to small businesses, Block helped level the playing field between up-and-coming enterprises versus their much larger counterparts. As well, the company offers business management software, enabling entrepreneurs to concentrate on growing their business.

Sure enough, following a panicked selloff during the initial onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, SQ became one of the top-performing growth stocks to buy. But during the backend of 2021, SQ began slipping due to inflationary concerns. The pain accelerated this year, with the stock shedding a worrying 49% since its January opener. In addition, the company posted revenue of $3.96 billion in the first quarter of 2022, which was down nearly 22% against the year-ago level.

However, entrepreneurial interest remains high despite significant challenges. Plus, after having lost so much market value, the premium associated with SQ stock looks much more attractive.

Zscaler (ZS)

Given its core business as a cloud security firm, Zscaler(NASDAQ:ZS) natively enjoys extraordinary relevance. In 2020, the average cost of a data breach amounted to $8.64 million. Further, the U.S. saw a 5.49% increase in data breaches compared to 2019, a dynamic which contrasted with worldwide trends. And that’s just an average cost — some enterprises can suffer much more severely.

In particular, U.S. foreign policy increasingly puts its government and its private businesses at risk ofgeopolitical retaliation. Moreover, the security threats of today are much more pernicious than in generations past, with nefarious agents able to endanger critical infrastructures and supply chain networks. Since the U.S. is unlikely to back down from adversarial challenges, Zscaler will likely expands its relevance.

Nevertheless, ZS is one of the growth stocks to buy on bargain. Inflationary pressures impose a poor business backdrop for Zscaler as companies might look to skimp on costs. However, the critical nature of Zscaler’s specialty should give the firm some rope.

Tonix Pharmaceuticals (TNXP)

On surface level, some investors may be tempted to dismiss Tonix Pharmaceuticals(NASDAQ:TNXP) as one of the growth stocks to buy because of its TNX-1840 and TNX-1850 Covid-19 vaccine. With people tired of the disease combined with elements of vaccine hesitancy, Tonix seems utterly irrelevant in that arena. Not to fear, though, because Tonix is also developing TNX-801, a vaccine for smallpox and monkeypox.

As you’ve probably heard, monkeypox outbreakshave raised concerns internationally, with cases reported in Europe and North America. Here’s the truth about anything pox related: While Covid-19 is mostly an “internal” disease, monkeypox produces revolting symptoms such as blisters or lesions. And they can grow all over your body, resulting in truly distressing circumstances.

Safe to say, I for one won’t mess around with monkeypox. So, if that means getting vaccinated, boosted, double-boosted, triple-boosted, I’m going to do it. I think many others feel the same, meaning TNXP is a speculative buy.

Beyond Meat (BYND)

Another fact of monkeypox is that it can transmit from animals to humans. That’s just one more reason why over the long run, people should eschew animal-based protein for the plant-based variety. And that segues into Beyond Meat(NASDAQ:BYND), one of the pioneers in the revitalized “fake meat” industry. While I was an early critic of the movement, I’m starting to come around to the concept.

Still, BYND is a vexing proposition because it’s one of the most-embattled growth stocks available. On a YTD basis, the security has shed 59% of its market value, while over the trailing year, it has dropped 78%. A significant headwind is growing concerns about profitability. In Q1 2022, revenue was basically flat on a year-over-year basis, while net losses expanded to $100.5 million (from $27.3 million in the year-ago quarter).

Ultimately, BYND is best left for speculators. With a possible recession on the horizon, Beyond Meat’s higher prices relative to the real deal is worrisome. Today, we’re suffering frompopulation decline, which exacerbates the expansion of themoney stock.Overall, this circumstance is net negative for growth stocks and so far, the technicals have reflected the fundamental backdrop. Nevertheless, for the bold contrarian, the present juncture provides a time-capsule opportunity if you missed the boat the first time around. If that’s you, below are potentially promising growth stocks to consider.SMRNuScale Power$9.43FVRRFiverr$39.34SQBlock$80.11ZSZscaler$135.07TNXPTonix Pharmaceuticals$2BYNDBeyond Meat$26.62APLDApplied Blockchain$3.81NuScale Power (SMR)On paper, NuScale Power(NYSE:SMR) hardly provides any discount at all. Entering the public market via a reverse merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), SMR stock is only down less than a dollar from its initial offering price of $10 per unit. But what it lacks in an outright price cut, it more than makes up for in sheer relevance.NuScale specializes in advanced nuclear power technology, specifically a platform called small modular reactor (SMR). That’s why SMR is one of the highest-conviction growth stocks to buy.Fiverr (FVRR)As expected, the fading fear of the Covid-19 pandemic (at least here in the U.S.) has many entities in broader society seeking normalization, including the workplace. But that doesn’t mean worker bees must acquiesce, which brings up Fiverr(NYSE:FVRR) as one of the growth stocks to buy.A freelancer marketplace, Fiverr helps connect professionals with enterprises that have short-term specialized needs to cover. This setup enables people to participate in the gig economy remotely while contracting companies receive critical services. It’s a win-win, except for FVRR stock, which is down over 64% year-to-date through the May 26 session. Though analysts might not like Fiverr’s outlook, contemporary labor force dynamics may potentially be favorable for the burgeoning gig economy.Block (SQ)Formerly known as Square, Block(NYSE:SQ) has long been one of the most relevant growth stocks to buy because of the underlying game-changing service. By primarily providing point-of-sale solutions to small businesses, Block helped level the playing field between up-and-coming enterprises versus their much larger counterparts. As well, the company offers business management software, enabling entrepreneurs to concentrate on growing their business.Sure enough, following a panicked selloff during the initial onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, SQ became one of the top-performing growth stocks to buy. Plus, after having lost so much market value, the premium associated with SQ stock looks much more attractive.Zscaler (ZS)Given its core business as a cloud security firm, Zscaler(NASDAQ:ZS) natively enjoys extraordinary relevance. Since the U.S. is unlikely to back down from adversarial challenges, Zscaler will likely expands its relevance.Nevertheless, ZS is one of the growth stocks to buy on bargain. Inflationary pressures impose a poor business backdrop for Zscaler as companies might look to skimp on costs. However, the critical nature of Zscaler’s specialty should give the firm some rope.Tonix Pharmaceuticals (TNXP)On surface level, some investors may be tempted to dismiss Tonix Pharmaceuticals(NASDAQ:TNXP) as one of the growth stocks to buy because of its TNX-1840 and TNX-1850 Covid-19 vaccine. And they can grow all over your body, resulting in truly distressing circumstances.Safe to say, I for one won’t mess around with monkeypox. So, if that means getting vaccinated, boosted, double-boosted, triple-boosted, I’m going to do it. I think many others feel the same, meaning TNXP is a speculative buy.Beyond Meat (BYND)Another fact of monkeypox is that it can transmit from animals to humans. That’s just one more reason why over the long run, people should eschew animal-based protein for the plant-based variety. And that segues into Beyond Meat(NASDAQ:BYND), one of the pioneers in the revitalized “fake meat” industry. While I was an early critic of the movement, I’m starting to come around to the concept.Still, BYND is a vexing proposition because it’s one of the most-embattled growth stocks available. On a YTD basis, the security has shed 59% of its market value, while over the trailing year, it has dropped 78%. A significant headwind is growing concerns about profitability. In Q1 2022, revenue was basically flat on a year-over-year basis, while net losses expanded to $100.5 million (from $27.3 million in the year-ago quarter).Ultimately, BYND is best left for speculators. With a possible recession on the horizon, Beyond Meat’s higher prices relative to the real deal is worrisome. However, those that have strong convictions of a turnaround should give it another look, especially if it drops back below its IPO price of $25.Applied Blockchain (APLD)I’m going to end this list of growth stocks to buy with one of the most speculative ideas I can think of. (NASDAQ:AAPL) makes excellent products. I've been an Apple enthusiast for a long time, using many of the company's products over the years. I am also fond of the company's stock, and Apple was a top performer in my portfolio for many years (2006-2020). However, the dynamic surrounding Apple has changed. I wrote about the company's stock being "dead money" in November of last year, and Apple's stock hasn't returned anything since then. Apple faces a significant growth problem, and its valuation is relatively expensive for a company with limited growth.

Additionally, Apple faces supply constraints, other issues, and a significant inflation problem. Apple is a company with excellent products, but it has not invented anything revolutionary in a long time. Many market participants expect too much from Apple's stock. Therefore, there are better stocks to own here, and Apple will probably continue being dead money for now.

Apple's Inflation Problem

Despite Apple's beat on revenues and EPS last quarter, the company's stock declined as Apple warned of supply constraints impacting revenues by about $4-8 billion this quarter. We see that Apple is not immune to supply chain challenges, and it is not immune to inflation either. The new iPhone 14 models will start at$1099 for the Pro and $1199 for the Pro Max (according to insiders). That is about $100 more expensive than the company's current models. Moreover, the company's Max model will likely start at $999, roughly $300 more than the iPhone Min it will be replacing.

So, we see Apple's iPhone prices rising, which is not necessarily a good thing this time. Also, the price increase implies that the Pro Max 512 gigabyte version could cost roughly $1,500, and the 1T Pro Max will likely cost a whopping $1,700. These are costly iPhones, and these price increases come at a challenging time for consumers and the economy.

CPI inflation

CPI inflation(TradingEconomics.com )

Inflation has risen sharply recently, with the CPI trending around 8% for several months. This period of price increases signals the highest level of inflation we've seen in about 40 years in the U.S. Furthermore, high inflation may persist for longer than expected and will probably continue weighing on the consumer. Incidentally, we're seeing consumer sentiment data at some of its lowest readings in decades, implying a recession may soon begin. Apple raising prices in or before a recessionary phase will probably cause a decrease in demand for its iPhone and other products. On the other side of the equation, if Apple does not raise prices, revenues will likely decrease due to tighter consumer spending and other variables associated with a recessionary environment.

Consumer sentiment

Consumer sentiment(TradingEconomics.com )

If Apple raises prices on its new iPhone 14 lineup, the price hikes may be ill-timed. Prices are spiking all around us on everything from food to fuel. Therefore, some consumers may either wait for a better time to renew their iPhones or opt for a cheaper phone. Of course, I am not talking about the majority of Apple users switching their spending habits due to a slowdown. However, even a relatively small percentage of Apple's users choosing to go an extra year with their old iPhone could impact the company's bottom line.

Consumer confidence

Consumer confidence(Data.oecd.org)

Consumer confidence is also down at its lowest level in years. Higher costs from every angle are bombarding the consumer, and now may not be the optimal time for an iPhone price hike. However, I can see why Apple wants to raise prices because if we look at the other side of the equation, we're seeing producer prices rise. Therefore, Apple's bottom line will likely get pressured, and the company needs to raise prices to keep revenues and earnings up.

PPI inflation

PPI inflation(pls.gov)

Final-demand-goods is running remarkably hot, above 15%. This dynamic implies that it costs companies 15% more to create products than it did one year ago. Therefore, the iPhone 13 Pro, which cost Apple about $570 to manufacture, may come out to about $650 or more for the iPhone 14. Therefore, Apple needs to raise prices to keep its margins from declining and keep its profitability from dropping as we advance.

Nevertheless, higher prices for new iPhones may dissuade potential buyers and keep revenue growth lower than the company and analysts expect. Analysts anticipate Apple's growth to be low single-digit in the coming years, but the company's growth may be flat or even negative if the recession strikes.

Apple - Relatively Expensive Now

At around 24 times earnings, Apple is relatively expensive now, but there are several scenarios in which I would consider investing in Apple's stock again. The primary factor to see is improved growth. Currently, estimates are for low signal digit revenue growth, and it would be preferable to see the company return to 5-10% growth. Also, Apple's valuation needs to come down. There is little incentive to pay 24 times earnings or 21 times forward EPS estimates for a company growing sales by 2-3% in the coming years.

Apple's revenue estimates

AAPL revenue growth(SeekingAlpha.com)

Moreover, if there is a recession, growth could turn negative, and Apple may see declining revenues in the coming years. Therefore, unless Apple's growth story gets back on track quickly (it likely won't), the stock may only be worth around 15-18 times earnings here.

Apple's EPS estimates

AAPL EPS growth(SeekingAlpha.com )

Apple earned $6.04 in EPS in 2021, and the company should deliver approximately $6.15 this year. Now, unless Apple blows away consensus analysts' figures, the company will have very little EPS growth. Also, Apple is trading at around $150 today, illustrating that its trailing and forward P/E ratio is above 24. This valuation is relatively expensive for a company with very little revenue and EPS growth. The stock's 2% projected EPS growth and 24 P/E ratio illustrate that Apple is trading at a sky-high PEG ratio of around 12. Even if Apple earns towards the higher end of estimates and brings in about $6.50 in EPS the year, its PEG ratio would still be very high at around 3.

The Bottom Line

Regardless of how we look at it, Apple is expensive here. I would consider paying roughly 15-18 times earnings for this stock, which implies that the share price needs to drop significantly. I wrote about the company's stock being \"dead money\" in November of last year, and Apple's stock hasn't returned anything since then. Apple faces a significant growth problem, and its valuation is relatively expensive for a company with limited growth.Additionally, Apple faces supply constraints, other issues, and a significant inflation problem. Apple is a company with excellent products, but it has not invented anything revolutionary in a long time. Many market participants expect too much from Apple's stock. Therefore, there are better stocks to own here, and Apple will probably continue being dead money for now.Apple's Inflation ProblemDespite Apple's beat on revenues and EPS last quarter, the company's stock declined as Apple warned of supply constraints impacting revenues by about $4-8 billion this quarter. These are costly iPhones, and these price increases come at a challenging time for consumers and the economy.CPI inflationCPI inflation(TradingEconomics.com )Inflation has risen sharply recently, with the CPI trending around 8% for several months. On the other side of the equation, if Apple does not raise prices, revenues will likely decrease due to tighter consumer spending and other variables associated with a recessionary environment.Consumer sentimentConsumer sentiment(TradingEconomics.com )If Apple raises prices on its new iPhone 14 lineup, the price hikes may be ill-timed. Prices are spiking all around us on everything from food to fuel. Therefore, some consumers may either wait for a better time to renew their iPhones or opt for a cheaper phone. Of course, I am not talking about the majority of Apple users switching their spending habits due to a slowdown. However, even a relatively small percentage of Apple's users choosing to go an extra year with their old iPhone could impact the company's bottom line.Consumer confidenceConsumer confidence(Data.oecd.org)Consumer confidence is also down at its lowest level in years. Higher costs from every angle are bombarding the consumer, and now may not be the optimal time for an iPhone price hike. However, I can see why Apple wants to raise prices because if we look at the other side of the equation, we're seeing producer prices rise. Therefore, Apple's bottom line will likely get pressured, and the company needs to raise prices to keep revenues and earnings up.PPI inflationPPI inflation(pls.gov)Final-demand-goods is running remarkably hot, above 15%. This dynamic implies that it costs companies 15% more to create products than it did one year ago. Therefore, the iPhone 13 Pro, which cost Apple about $570 to manufacture, may come out to about $650 or more for the iPhone 14. Therefore, Apple needs to raise prices to keep its margins from declining and keep its profitability from dropping as we advance.Nevertheless, higher prices for new iPhones may dissuade potential buyers and keep revenue growth lower than the company and analysts expect. Analysts anticipate Apple's growth to be low single-digit in the coming years, but the company's growth may be flat or even negative if the recession strikes.Apple - Relatively Expensive NowAt around 24 times earnings, Apple is relatively expensive now, but there are several scenarios in which I would consider investing in Apple's stock again. The primary factor to see is improved growth. Currently, estimates are for low signal digit revenue growth, and it would be preferable to see the company return to 5-10% growth. Also, Apple's valuation needs to come down. There is little incentive to pay 24 times earnings or 21 times forward EPS estimates for a company growing sales by 2-3% in the coming years.Apple's revenue estimatesAAPL revenue growth(SeekingAlpha.com)Moreover, if there is a recession, growth could turn negative, and Apple may see declining revenues in the coming years. Therefore, unless Apple's growth story gets back on track quickly (it likely won't), the stock may only be worth around 15-18 times earnings here.Apple's EPS estimatesAAPL EPS growth(SeekingAlpha.com )Apple earned $6.04 in EPS in 2021, and the company should deliver approximately $6.15 this year. Even if Apple earns towards the higher end of estimates and brings in about $6.50 in EPS the year, its PEG ratio would still be very high at around 3.The Bottom LineRegardless of how we look at it, Apple is expensive here. I would consider paying roughly 15-18 times earnings for this stock, which implies that the share price needs to drop significantly. A 15-18 P/E multiple suggests a stock price of approximately $90-110, roughly 27-40% below the stock price today. This suggestion may seem dramatic, and some market participants may have difficulty imagining Apple's stock price down there. However, $100 may be an optimal place to buy Apple when a recession occurs.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":245,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9053100607,"gmtCreate":1654490189109,"gmtModify":1676535456709,"author":{"id":"4114945277156072","authorId":"4114945277156072","name":"mothymo","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ba3c3f74761a9a96a9094b3200f2814f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4114945277156072","authorIdStr":"4114945277156072"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Its good for retail like me 😄","listText":"Its good for retail like me 😄","text":"Its good for retail like me 😄","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9053100607","repostId":"2241438167","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2241438167","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1654473879,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2241438167?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-06-06 08:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Reasons Amazon Stock Could Soar After Its Split","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2241438167","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"It's time to buy. What's far more likely is that investors will bid up the shares as AWS and advertising sales drive its profits sharply higher.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":203,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9951579716,"gmtCreate":1673530928936,"gmtModify":1676538851742,"author":{"id":"4114945277156072","authorId":"4114945277156072","name":"mothymo","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ba3c3f74761a9a96a9094b3200f2814f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4114945277156072","authorIdStr":"4114945277156072"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"This is a valid post","listText":"This is a valid post","text":"This is a valid post","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9951579716","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":168,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9963034719,"gmtCreate":1668553163931,"gmtModify":1676538073410,"author":{"id":"4114945277156072","authorId":"4114945277156072","name":"mothymo","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ba3c3f74761a9a96a9094b3200f2814f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4114945277156072","authorIdStr":"4114945277156072"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>","listText":"$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>","text":"$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9963034719","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":76,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9072296872,"gmtCreate":1658034189196,"gmtModify":1676536096790,"author":{"id":"4114945277156072","authorId":"4114945277156072","name":"mothymo","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ba3c3f74761a9a96a9094b3200f2814f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4114945277156072","authorIdStr":"4114945277156072"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Alphabet(GOOGL)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>i want a slice of this after stock split 😁","listText":"$Alphabet(GOOGL)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>i want a slice of this after stock split 😁","text":"$Alphabet(GOOGL)$i want a slice of this after stock split 😁","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9072296872","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":216,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9027994240,"gmtCreate":1653957494480,"gmtModify":1676535368764,"author":{"id":"4114945277156072","authorId":"4114945277156072","name":"mothymo","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ba3c3f74761a9a96a9094b3200f2814f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4114945277156072","authorIdStr":"4114945277156072"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cool..","listText":"Cool..","text":"Cool..","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9027994240","repostId":"2239367132","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2239367132","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1653982627,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2239367132?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-31 15:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The Best High-Yield Dividend Stocks on the Market Right Now","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2239367132","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"You can get more than just juicy dividends from these stocks.","content":"

Have you ever watched American Idol, The Voice, or even the National Dog Show on Thanksgiving Day in the company of others? If so, you know that opinions can vary as to which contestant is the best.

There can even be different views in selecting the best high-yield dividend stocks. It's not as simple as just identifying stocks with the highest yields. Other factors are also important, including the ability to continue funding dividends and growth prospects. And one person can give a greater weight to those individual factors than another person will.

With all of that in mind, here are my picks for the best high-yield dividend stocks on the market right now.

1. Devon Energy

Based on Devon Energy's first-quarter dividend, the oil and gas producer's annual yield is a little over 7%. However, by the end of this year, the dividend yield could be even higher. That's because Devon pays a fixed-plus-variable dividend. The variable portion is based on the company's excess free cash flow.

Devon expects that its actual dividend yield will be around 8% -- roughly six times greater than that of the S&P 500 and more than twice the energy sector average. Of course, the yield doesn't just depend on the company's dividend payout. Devon's stock performance matters as well -- a high stock price translates to a lower dividend yield. And its shares have soared so far this year.

In addition to its strong dividend, Devon is aggressively buying back up to 5% of its outstanding shares. Stock buybacks are sometimes called "invisible dividends" because of their benefits to investors.

Devon should continue to deliver strong financial results as long as oil and gas prices remain high. The stock perhaps won't be as attractive within the next three to five years as it is now. But it's currently one of the best high-yield dividend stocks around.

2. Enterprise Products Partners

Enterprise Products Partners offers a dividend yield of 6.8%. The midstream energy company also boasts an impressive track record of 23 consecutive years of distribution increases.

The stock has also been a winner for investors this year. Enterprise's shares are up well over 20%.

This performance lags well behind the stocks of oil and gas producers such as Devon. That's largely because Enterprise Products Partners' fortunes aren't tied as closely to commodity prices. Most of the company's revenue comes from fees charged for using its pipelines. However, this also arguably gives Enterprise one of the safest dividends in the energy sector.

Granted, Enterprise Products Partner's long-term growth prospects could suffer with a massive transition to renewable energy sources. But the International Energy Agency projects that the demand for oil and gas will continue to increase at least through 2040. Enterprise's high dividend yields shouldn't be threatened for a long time to come.

3. Medical Properties Trust

You don't have to look solely to energy stocks for high dividend yields. Medical Properties Trust's dividend currently yields close to 6.2%. The real estate investment trust (REIT) has increased its dividend for 10 consecutive years.

Sure, Medical Properties Trust's stock is down in 2022 with the overall market in decline. But its total return including dividends has beaten the S&P 500 over the past five years and 10 years.

The company owns around 440 hospitals in 10 countries. Medical Properties Trust's tenant base has become more diversified in recent years, with 53 hospital operators now compared to only 30 in 2018. Its largest property accounts for less than 3% of the company's total portfolio.

Inflation shouldn't present a big problem for the REIT since nearly all of its leases have annual rent increases built in. Higher interest rates aren't slowing Medical Properties Trust down, either. The company expects to invest between $1 billion and $3 billion on acquisitions this year.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Best High-Yield Dividend Stocks on the Market Right Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe Best High-Yield Dividend Stocks on the Market Right Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-05-31 15:37 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Have you ever watched American Idol, The Voice, or even the National Dog Show on Thanksgiving Day in the company of others?
