Revenue declined 12% to $707.9 million, higher than the $631.2 million consensus estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Quarterly transaction revenue fell to $327.1 million.Coinbase benefitted from a rebound in cryptocurrency prices in the first half of the year while its chief executive, Brian Armstrong, has became deeper embroiled in a fight with US regulators. The Securities and Exchange Commission sued the firm in June for allegedly running an illegal exchange, broker and clearing agency. It was the sixth consecutive quarterly loss. Even so, the shares have more than doubled this year.“Coinbase’s revenue beat versus consensus estimates was due in large part to better-than-expected interest income and staking revenue, which are two areas of the company’s business that appear to be at risk going forward,” said Mark Palmer, an analyst at Berenberg Capital Markets who has a “hold” rating on the company’s stock.Interest income, a key revenue driver, dropped to $201.4 million from the prior quarter after circulation of the USDC stablecoin declined. That’s left some analysts ratcheting up price targets for the crypto exchange, while others say the stock has decoupled from reality. There’s a 75% gap between the highest and lowest price targets issued since the Ripple ruling.Amid the divergence, much rides on Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong’s ability to reassure investors about Coinbase’s growth prospects when it reports second-quarter earnings on Thursday after the market close.Stock bears like Berenberg’s Mark Palmer say the stream of good news that lifted Coinbase doesn’t have any bearing on its growth outlook, which has been hurt by the SEC’s clampdown on the company and the wider sector. In response to the bleak US environment, Armstrong is embarking on an overseas expansion.“We are surprised that the market was as exuberant as it was, simply because the company continues to face very significant risks on the regulatory front,” said Palmer, a senior research analyst at Berenberg. He rates the stock a “hold” and calls it “uninvestable in the near term.” His price target is $39, compared with Wednesday’s close of $90.43.Analysts don’t expect Armstrong’s overseas push to meaningfully alleviate pressure on revenue at least through next year, estimates compiled by Bloomberg indicate. Since Bloomberg News first reported in March about plans to potentially set up a new crypto-trading platform overseas, consensus estimates for 2024 revenue have kept drifting lower as the SEC sued Coinbase.Coinbase is expected to report a 23% drop in second-quarter sales from a year earlier, estimates compiled by Bloomberg show. Quarterly transaction revenue was the lowest since the company went public in 2021, analysts predict.The July 13 ruling by a US federal judge that Ripple’s XRP token is a security when sold to institutional investors but not the general public triggered a 24% rally in Coinbase stock, the biggest one-day gain since April 2021. Investors, at least initially, saw the decision as a big win for crypto platforms like Coinbase, which was sued in June by the SEC for allegedly running an illegal exchange, broker and clearing agency.Since then, analysts including Citigroup Peter Christiansen have sharply raised their price targets for Coinbase, while others like Palmer and Benjamin Budish of Barclays kept theirs unchanged. Estimates for what Coinbase shares are worth range from $36 to $145 since July 13, Bloomberg-compiled data show.The inherent riskiness of relying on court decisions for assessing crypto’s outlook became apparent on July 31, when another federal judge issued a diverging ruling in a separate case. Coinbase fell 4.5% the next day.Taken as a whole, the view on Coinbase stock is unusually bearish by Wall Street sell-side standards: It gets a consensus rating of 3.03 out of 5, lower than all but 37 stocks on the S&P 500 Index. Only one company on the benchmark has a lower projected return potential, based on the difference between the average target price and the current value, than Coinbase.To defend a valuation that’s tripled this year based on the price-to-sales metric, Armstrong needs to find new growth avenues.Interest income, a key sales driver, is expected to have dropped almost 20% from the prior quarter after circulation of the USDC stablecoin declined. Meanwhile, revenue from staking is under pressure after Coinbase was ordered to stop staking additional assets in four US states.Regulatory pressure on crypto companies in the US has reached such intensity that Armstrong in April said he won’t rule out moving the San Fransisco-based company abroad. After being sued by the SEC, Coinbase has said it’s willing to take its legal fight with the regulator to the Supreme Court if needed.Crackdown on BinanceThe company in May launched the Coinbase International Exchange, on which some investors based outside the US can trade crypto derivatives. The venue saw $2.1 billion of trading volume in the past 30 days. Global trading in Bitcoin futures alone totaled $550 billion last month, data compiled by the Block show.One force working in Armstrong’s favor as he eyes overseas markets is the regulatory crackdown on Binance in markets from Belgium to Australia. Binance, Coinbase’s biggest competitor, has ceded market share in past months as it came under increased scrutiny.In Europe, the biggest winner from Binance’s woes has been Kraken, which boosted its share of trading in euro-denominated crypto pairs to 43% in July from 36% in January, according to CCData. Coinbase increased its share slightly.Underscoring the task facing Armstrong, even analysts that are bullish on the stock don’t expect Coinbase’s international platform to generate meaningful revenues at least through next year.“Coinbase has a history of putting out products like NFT [marketplace] that didn’t materially generate things for bottom line or top line,” said John Todaro, an analyst at Needham & Co. with a “buy” rating and a price target of $120 for Coinbase. “We do think it’s an opportunity, but it’s very early.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"COIN":1.1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2568,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":204634922512576,"gmtCreate":1690993068751,"gmtModify":1690993071921,"author":{"id":"4119963323587952","authorId":"4119963323587952","name":"Kennoobie","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/13ad37a0e06c2dfd42ac4f2b5a70b190","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4119963323587952","idStr":"4119963323587952"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buying more. 🤣","listText":"Buying more. 🤣","text":"Buying more. 🤣","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/204634922512576","repostId":"1182406772","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1182406772","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1690987485,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1182406772?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-08-02 22:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Coinbase's Stock Fell 3% in Morning Trading Amid a Judge's Latest Ruling About Crypto","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1182406772","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"As Coinbase Global Inc. awaits its own regulatory fate, Wall Street has been scanning other cryptocurrency-related legal battles for signs of what's to come.Coinbase shares $(COIN)$ have been on a tea","content":"

As Coinbase Global Inc. awaits its own regulatory fate, Wall Street has been scanning other cryptocurrency-related legal battles for signs of what's to come.

Coinbase shares $(COIN)$ have been on a tear lately, rising 167% so far this year, and they enjoyed a particularly sharp one-day rally in mid-July after a federal judge in a case unrelated to Coinbase determined that Ripple Labs' token wasn't a security when sold to members of the general public on crypto exchanges.

Investors saw that ruling as a potentially favorable signal for Coinbase, which was sued by the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this year. deal with Xpeng could be the first of many strategic partnerships between global automakers and Chinese EV startups, Morgan Stanley said.German auto giant Volkswagen announced yesterday that it will invest $700 million in Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) and will co-develop two battery electric vehicles (BEVs) that will hit the market in 2026.To Morgan Stanley, this marks the time of 'Xpeng Inside', and the technology partnership creates new monetization opportunities.\"We think this could be the first of many strategic partnerships between global OEMs and Chinese EV startups,\" Morgan Stanley analyst Tim Hsiao's team said in a research note sent to investors on Wednesday.The team gave their answers to major investor concerns.What will Xpeng offer Volkswagen's two models?Volkswagen's two B-class BEVs will be built on the Xpeng G9 platform, with Xpeng providing the V2X and XNGP solutions as well as the battery/chassis architecture, while Volkswagen will design and produce the cars under its own brand.Morgan Stanley sees this as a win-win partnership, as Xpeng can meaningfully expand the user base for its smart cockpit and XNGP technologies, while Volkswagen can accelerate the launch of its next-generation BEVs to fortify its EV presence in China.How could Xpeng monetize the partnership?Technical service fees will generate revenue for Xpeng from 2024 in return for providing their G9 platform and technologies in connectivity and XNGP.Xpeng's management noted that in 2026, Xpeng's technical service revenues will grow in line with increased sales of the two B-class BEVs that utilize Xpeng's solutions.Margins on technical services revenue from Volkswagen will be higher than hardware vehicle sales, Morgan Stanley said, adding that, at this point, there are no further details to illustrate or quantify the revenue contribution.Will this lead to new overseas opportunities?According to Morgan Stanley, this is a noteworthy moment as local brands begin to support global carmakers in developing new BEV models.More collaboration with global brands wouldn't be a surprise, and this kind of cooperation is expected to be able to lay the groundwork for Chinese carmakers' overseas expansion, Hsiao's team said.In Xpeng's case, it could open up more opportunities for future cooperation with the Volkswagen Group in China and globally.What benefits does offering ADAS technology bring?In the long run, since both BEVs will use Xpeng XNGP, this will help Xpeng accumulate training data and further optimize its algorithms, potentially accelerating system iterations and enabling higher levels of autonomous driving.What about the competitive risk?While Volkswagen's new models will utilize the same platform architecture and XNGP as Xpeng's own models, Xpeng management believes that Volkswagen will make every effort to differentiate its BEV models from Xpeng's product line.Morgan Stanley believes that competition may be inevitable over time, but it's a good problem to have because Xpeng has access to a broader customer base.Will Xpeng's supply chain benefit from the partnership?Xpeng's supply chain will likely benefit from the partnership, but it's hard to determine which groups might benefit more, Morgan Stanley said.Since Volkswagen will be using Xpeng's vehicle architecture and XNGP system, Volkswagen could consider selecting Xpeng's suppliers to boost the production of its new models, the team said.Chassis, powertrain and smart function suppliers may have a better chance of penetrating Volkswagen's new model market, Morgan Stanley said.According to a Volkswagen press release yesterday, in the initial phase of its partnership with Xpeng, the two companies plan to co-develop two Volkswagen-branded BEV models for China's mid-size car market.The two new vehicles will complement Volkswagen's MEB platform-based portfolio and are scheduled to hit the market in 2026, the German auto giant said.The newly established Volkswagen (China) Technology Co Ltd (VCTC) will be its partner with Xpeng in the development area, Volkswagen said.This technology company is the Volkswagen Group's largest research and development site outside of Wolfsburg, and in the future, it will be home to more than 2,000 R&D and sourcing specialists, Volkswagen said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"XPEV":1,"09868":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1240,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":202461584838864,"gmtCreate":1690445983159,"gmtModify":1690445991558,"author":{"id":"4119963323587952","authorId":"4119963323587952","name":"Kennoobie","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/13ad37a0e06c2dfd42ac4f2b5a70b190","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4119963323587952","idStr":"4119963323587952"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I deal with Xpeng could be the first of many strategic partnerships between global automakers and Chinese EV startups, Morgan Stanley said.German auto giant Volkswagen announced yesterday that it will invest $700 million in Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) and will co-develop two battery electric vehicles (BEVs) that will hit the market in 2026.To Morgan Stanley, this marks the time of 'Xpeng Inside', and the technology partnership creates new monetization opportunities.\"We think this could be the first of many strategic partnerships between global OEMs and Chinese EV startups,\" Morgan Stanley analyst Tim Hsiao's team said in a research note sent to investors on Wednesday.The team gave their answers to major investor concerns.What will Xpeng offer Volkswagen's two models?Volkswagen's two B-class BEVs will be built on the Xpeng G9 platform, with Xpeng providing the V2X and XNGP solutions as well as the battery/chassis architecture, while Volkswagen will design and produce the cars under its own brand.Morgan Stanley sees this as a win-win partnership, as Xpeng can meaningfully expand the user base for its smart cockpit and XNGP technologies, while Volkswagen can accelerate the launch of its next-generation BEVs to fortify its EV presence in China.How could Xpeng monetize the partnership?Technical service fees will generate revenue for Xpeng from 2024 in return for providing their G9 platform and technologies in connectivity and XNGP.Xpeng's management noted that in 2026, Xpeng's technical service revenues will grow in line with increased sales of the two B-class BEVs that utilize Xpeng's solutions.Margins on technical services revenue from Volkswagen will be higher than hardware vehicle sales, Morgan Stanley said, adding that, at this point, there are no further details to illustrate or quantify the revenue contribution.Will this lead to new overseas opportunities?According to Morgan Stanley, this is a noteworthy moment as local brands begin to support global carmakers in developing new BEV models.More collaboration with global brands wouldn't be a surprise, and this kind of cooperation is expected to be able to lay the groundwork for Chinese carmakers' overseas expansion, Hsiao's team said.In Xpeng's case, it could open up more opportunities for future cooperation with the Volkswagen Group in China and globally.What benefits does offering ADAS technology bring?In the long run, since both BEVs will use Xpeng XNGP, this will help Xpeng accumulate training data and further optimize its algorithms, potentially accelerating system iterations and enabling higher levels of autonomous driving.What about the competitive risk?While Volkswagen's new models will utilize the same platform architecture and XNGP as Xpeng's own models, Xpeng management believes that Volkswagen will make every effort to differentiate its BEV models from Xpeng's product line.Morgan Stanley believes that competition may be inevitable over time, but it's a good problem to have because Xpeng has access to a broader customer base.Will Xpeng's supply chain benefit from the partnership?Xpeng's supply chain will likely benefit from the partnership, but it's hard to determine which groups might benefit more, Morgan Stanley said.Since Volkswagen will be using Xpeng's vehicle architecture and XNGP system, Volkswagen could consider selecting Xpeng's suppliers to boost the production of its new models, the team said.Chassis, powertrain and smart function suppliers may have a better chance of penetrating Volkswagen's new model market, Morgan Stanley said.According to a Volkswagen press release yesterday, in the initial phase of its partnership with Xpeng, the two companies plan to co-develop two Volkswagen-branded BEV models for China's mid-size car market.The two new vehicles will complement Volkswagen's MEB platform-based portfolio and are scheduled to hit the market in 2026, the German auto giant said.The newly established Volkswagen (China) Technology Co Ltd (VCTC) will be its partner with Xpeng in the development area, Volkswagen said.This technology company is the Volkswagen Group's largest research and development site outside of Wolfsburg, and in the future, it will be home to more than 2,000 R&D and sourcing specialists, Volkswagen said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"XPEV":1,"09868":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1240,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":190078757666968,"gmtCreate":1687431470340,"gmtModify":1687431473871,"author":{"id":"4119963323587952","authorId":"4119963323587952","name":"Kennoobie","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/13ad37a0e06c2dfd42ac4f2b5a70b190","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4119963323587952","idStr":"4119963323587952"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a The CPI came in lower than the prior report, and the market rallied strongly through the lower resistance region I outlined last weekend. And, it made most people uber-bullish, believing wewere heading directly to the 4300SPX region.Yet, if you recall what I had said in my update last week, I was quite specific that any rally through resistance had to have been a 5-wave structure to tell us we were ready to attack 4300SPX. As I outlined to our members of The Market Pinball Wizard in real time, the rally only took shape as a 3-wave structure. And, as you can see from the attached chart, I maintained an expectation that the rally was a b-wave (corrective rally), with a c-wave decline yet to follow.Elliottwavetrader.netWithin the following 15 minutes after the chart above was posted, I then provided another update to our members, noting that should we break back below 4034SPX, it makes it likely that we are heading down towards the larger degree support region I have been outlining for weeks.Moreover, two weeks ago I outlined to our members the potential that we can again test the 4118-4154SPX region (as the futures did before the market opened this past Tuesday), and still drop down to the larger degree support region I was outlining. You see, when a bullish move fails to strike the ideal target zone (which was the 4118-4154SPX region of which we came up short in the prior rally), we often see the b-wave of the ensuing correction come back to strike it. This is exactly what we experienced this past week. And, this is why I made it quite clear that only if the rally through our lower resistance completed 5-waves up would the market tell us that we were going to rally to 4300SPX sooner than I had expected. Yet, 3-waves up is all we got, and that was confirmed by the break down below 4034SPX, as I also explained in real-time to our members.Now, I want you to take a moment and think about the main highs and lows we have struck over the last two months. The low struck on October 13 was a spike down and strong reversal which began a two-month rally after the publishing of a CPI report that was lower than expected, which took everyone by surprise when we ended that day hugely positive. Herein the market fooled you once.And then we struck a high and reversed strongly on a day when the CPI was lower than expected, which took everyone by surprise when we ended that day with a huge reversal, which kick-started the decline I wanted to see to our support region below. Herein the market fooled you twice. So, as the saying goes, shame on you.Week after week, I try to outline to investors and traders that, while the substance of a news event can certainly act as a catalyst for a market move, the substance of that report will not always provide you with the correct directional cue for the eventual move in the market. The highs and lows struck in the last two months are perfect examples of this phenomena - we bottomed on a bearish report and topped on a bullish one. Yet, most will simply ignore what just happened and move on to the next set of data which they believe will move the market. But, if you are being honest with yourself, I think it’s time to consider that maybe what you are doing is not really going to help you going forward.As one of my members commented this past week:\"I mean, bottoming on the worst inflation print and topping on the best... takes a lot of mental gymnastic to make that square without EWT\"I do love quoting these two paragraphs from Robert Prechter’s book The Socionomic Theory of Finance (which, in my humble opinion, is a must read for every single investor and trader if you want to understand how the market really works), as it quite succinctly and accurately explains how the masses approach the market so wrongly:“Observers’ job, as they see it, is simply to identify which external events caused whatever price changes occur. When news seems to coincide sensibly with market movement, they presume a causal relationship. When news doesn’t fit, they attempt to devise a cause-and-effect structure to make it fit. When they cannot even devise a plausible way to twist the news into justifying market action, they chalk up the market moves to “psychology,” which means that, despite a plethora of news and numerous inventive ways to interpret it, their imaginations aren’t prodigious enough to concoct a credible causal story.Most of the time it is easy for observers to believe in news causality. Financial markets fluctuate constantly, and news comes out constantly, and sometimes the two elements coincide well enough to reinforce commentators’ mental bias towards mechanical cause and effect. When news and the market fail to coincide, they shrug and disregard the inconsistency. Those operating under the mechanics paradigm in finance never seem to see or care that these glaring anomalies exist.”As far as the market is concerned, even when we were near the highs, I outlined in my articles that I was looking for the market to retrace back to the 3723-3867SPX region. Now, many of you are going to again brush aside my view and claim that the only reason we are here is because of what Powell said during the last Fed meeting. Yet, you completely ignore the fact that the market reversed the day before Powell spoke and began the expected decline we outlined to our members. Moreover, you also ignore that the fact that the market was even positive after Mr. Powell spoke and only went negative well after he finished speaking. Therefore, if you continue to maintain your belief, then you must assume that the market is omniscient, clairvoyant or crazy. So, not only were you fooled twice, you are allowing yourself to continue to be fooled. Maybe it’s time to take off the blinders?Many of you have commented to me in the past that you simply do not appreciate the manner in which I write my missives, as you feel it comes across as arrogant or too “all-knowing.” Well, to be honest, it really is the only way to get people to consider the truth of what I am trying to teach. Believe it or not, sometimes you have to smack people across the face in order for them to accept reality.Since my goal has been and always will be to teach people how to do better in the market, this is the approach I take whether you like it or not. And, based upon the thousands of notes and comments I get from our members over the years about how we have changed their lives, I will continue to do what works. In fact, this was posted to me by one of our approximately 1000 money manager clients this past week:“You have no idea what your guidance has done to change lives of some who do not even know your name.”In the meantime, we are now well within the support region I have outlined weeks ago. And, I will be watching the market quite intently over the coming week to see if we develop the bottoming signals that I want to see. For those interested, I have outlined what I am looking for in my weekend update to the members of The Market Pinball Wizard. And, if the market provides us with those cues, then we will have a low-risk buying opportunity over the coming week or two, which we can ride to the 4300+ region in the coming months. And, the reason I say it is a low-risk buying opportunity is because the market also provides us with our stop-out point as well.So, in summary, depending on how the market reacts over the coming week within our support region will tell us quite clearly if we are going to set up to rally to 4300+ as we move into 2023. For now, this remains my expectation. But, clearly, I will be listening to the cues offered by the market before I will act on my expectation.This article is written by Avi Gilburt for reference only. It has been slowing for several months, but as of November the Fed's preferred inflation gauge - the personal consumption expenditures price index - was still rising at a 5.5% annual rate, more than twice the U.S. central bank's 2% target.

The minutes "will lean against easing prematurely" and keep the focus on the likelihood that rates will rise further and remain high, Derek Tang, economist at LH Meyer, wrote on Tuesday.

But the details of the document, with its descriptions of different points of view and the rough sizes of groups of policymakers offering them, could show the Fed's internal deliberations entering a new phase where risks to economic growth and employment are given more standing.

The projections of Fed officials released on Dec. 14 showed near unanimity about where interest rates are heading in 2023, with 15 of 19 policymakers expecting the target rate to rise by either three-quarters of a percentage point or a full percentage point in coming months, a narrow range that would see the current cycle end this spring with that rate around 5.25% or 5.5%.

But in 2024 the projections diverge dramatically, with one official seeing the policy rate continuing at 5.625%, one seeing it slashed to 3.125%, and no more than seven officials in agreement on any particular rate in an economy that still may be flirting with or muddling through a recession.

"The FOMC seems united on getting policy above 5% but is quite split on exit strategy; how long to hold and how deeply and rapidly to ease on the other side," Tang wrote, referring to the central bank's policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee.

COGNIZANT OF RISKS

The minutes could help pin down how much sentiment there is to ease the pace of upcoming rate increases to a quarter of a percentage point as of the Jan. 31-Feb. 1 meeting. It has been slowing for several months, but as of November the Fed's preferred inflation gauge - the personal consumption expenditures price index - was still rising at a 5.5% annual rate, more than twice the U.S. central bank's 2% target.The minutes \"will lean against easing prematurely\" and keep the focus on the likelihood that rates will rise further and remain high, Derek Tang, economist at LH Meyer, wrote on Tuesday.But the details of the document, with its descriptions of different points of view and the rough sizes of groups of policymakers offering them, could show the Fed's internal deliberations entering a new phase where risks to economic growth and employment are given more standing.The projections of Fed officials released on Dec. 14 showed near unanimity about where interest rates are heading in 2023, with 15 of 19 policymakers expecting the target rate to rise by either three-quarters of a percentage point or a full percentage point in coming months, a narrow range that would see the current cycle end this spring with that rate around 5.25% or 5.5%.But in 2024 the projections diverge dramatically, with one official seeing the policy rate continuing at 5.625%, one seeing it slashed to 3.125%, and no more than seven officials in agreement on any particular rate in an economy that still may be flirting with or muddling through a recession.\"The FOMC seems united on getting policy above 5% but is quite split on exit strategy; how long to hold and how deeply and rapidly to ease on the other side,\" Tang wrote, referring to the central bank's policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee.COGNIZANT OF RISKSThe minutes could help pin down how much sentiment there is to ease the pace of upcoming rate increases to a quarter of a percentage point as of the Jan. 31-Feb. 1 meeting. The Fed used three-quarters-of-a-percentage-point hikes for much of 2022, but trimmed that to a half-percentage-point increase in December and indicated it may slow the pace even further as it looks for a proper stopping point.New economic data between now and then will shape that decision. Closely watched statistics on U.S. job openings will be released ahead of the minutes on Wednesday, followed on Friday by the monthly jobs report for December - both important benchmarks for Fed officials who hope the U.S. labor market will adjust to slower growth and higher interest rates with a limited loss of employment.Consumer inflation data for December will be released next week.Though Fed Chair Jerome Powell in December remained adamant the central bank will do what it takes to control inflation, he also said officials are cognizant of the risks of overdoing it - something Fed staff also have begun to emphasize.In the minutes for the Nov. 1-2 meeting, Fed staff put roughly even odds on a recession in 2023, and new research late last month warned that with the world's major central banks raising rates simultaneously the combined impact may be greater than anticipated as policy in one country influences bond yields, currency values and trade patterns in another.\"It is especially challenging to estimate spillovers, and there are concerns that policymakers may underestimate them. In such a case, there is a risk of overtightening that central banks need to be, and we believe are, cognizant of,\" Fed economists Dario Caldara, Francesco Ferrante, and Albert Queralto wrote.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".SPX":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".DJI":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":488,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":202845777735912,"gmtCreate":1690552065886,"gmtModify":1690552069742,"author":{"id":"4119963323587952","authorId":"4119963323587952","name":"Kennoobie","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/13ad37a0e06c2dfd42ac4f2b5a70b190","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4119963323587952","idStr":"4119963323587952"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"30 next week !","listText":"30 next week !","text":"30 next week !","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/202845777735912","repostId":"1197701960","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1048,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":195167390973960,"gmtCreate":1688649788394,"gmtModify":1688649792735,"author":{"id":"4119963323587952","authorId":"4119963323587952","name":"Kennoobie","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/13ad37a0e06c2dfd42ac4f2b5a70b190","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4119963323587952","idStr":"4119963323587952"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yeah oh yeah it will hit 200 pct later","listText":"Yeah oh yeah it will hit 200 pct later","text":"Yeah oh yeah it will hit 200 pct later","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/195167390973960","repostId":"1175862348","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":900,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
