Weekly: Wing Tai, Banyan Tree, AU8U, Bukit Sembawang & Duty Free Intl directors raise stake
Over the five trading sessions, 60 director interests and substantial shareholdings were filed. Across 25 primary-listed stocks, Directors or CEOs reported 10 acquisitions and no disposals, while substantial shareholders recorded five acquisitions and five disposals.
1. $Wing Tai(W05.SI)$
Wing Tai Holdings chairman and managing director Cheng Wai Keung continued to build his deemed interest in the company, through his spouse Helen Chow acquiring shares. From Nov 14 through to Nov 20, Mr Cheng increased his total interest in the leading real estate developer and lifestyle retailer from 62.19% the company, up to 62.24%. This is up from 61.64% at the end of 2024.
2. $Banyan Tree(B58.SI)$
On Nov 14, Goodview Properties Pte Ltd increased its substantial shareholding above the 6.0% threshold from 5.99% and 6.06%. The 605,400 Shares were acquired at S$0.62 per share. Goodview Properties interests crossed the 5.00% threshold back in August 2021, when Banyan Tree Holdings shares were trading at around S$0.31—roughly half their current price. Goodview Properties Pte Ltd is a subsidiary of Far East Organisation.
3. $CapLand China T(AU8U.SI)$
On Nov 18, CapitaLand China Trust non-executive independent director Chua Keng Kim acquired 150,000 units at S$0.79 apiece. This followed Mr Chua buying 550,000 units at S$0.79 between Oct 30 and Nov 7 and takes his total interest to 0.04%.
4. $Bukit Sembawang(B61.SI)$
Between Nov 12 and 13, Non-Executive Director Lee Chien Shih acquired 15,500 shares at an average price of S$4.15 per share. This marginally increased his direct interest from 0.21% to 0.22%.
5.$Duty Free Intl(5SO.SI)$
Between Nov 13 and 14, Independent Director Derrick Quek Meng Teck acquired 331,000 shares at an average price of S$0.093 apiece. This marginally increased his direct interest from 0.03% to 0.05%.
