Selling too early and buying high
I knew $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$
When I bought it back , investors were already profit taking and I was foolish enough to buy it while they were doing it and I bought at too high a price. Like what the famous Jesse Livingston used to say, when we make mistakes, we learn!
Aiyoh, the loss was painful because I saw it coming, but was impatient as I was too excited to buy (Jo, you are a genius, zzz!). It's like getting hit by lightning and going back for more. Anyway, I can only congratulate myself for seeing the dip coming but have to scold myself for not being patient. I basically FOMO-ed! I have amused as I type this because i am learning as I am losing money.
Another important lesson I've learnt, besides allocating funds and time to your purchase, is not to buy stocks at one go. I think one should buy them periodically in lots. This basically helped me from wiping out all my funds allocated for investment and allows me to DCA if the price should fall further.
Well, looking back, I will continue to remind myself to stay patient and true to what I've learnt, otherwise it will all be for nothing! All the lessons and loses would be for nothing and the only thing I can console myself on is that my losses are at least lesser.
Reminder to all, be patient when you buy and have a target price. If it hasn't reached it yet, don't be impatient! Wait for it because when something goes to the peak, it is more likely to fall, especially if there isn't any big change in fundamentals.
