📝ANS: (1) Besides all the points listed in the cutting edge section above, the strained 🇺🇸-🇨🇳 relationship + the experience of being over-reliant on China (shortages + ongoing zero-Covid policy),🇺🇸EV & battery manufacturers will likely prefer to rely less on 🇨🇳 In fact, there has been considerable movements of companies out of 🇨🇳 or companies building alternative factories in their home/ country/other countries since 2020.

(2) With the unresolved Ukraine-Russia war & oil/gas uncertainties, obtaining lithium from within the same country will reduce the risks of companies having to face unexpected transportation costs due to oil/gas price spikes.

(3) Buying the stock of an established lithium producing company is more costly & has less room for price growth, which means I’ll get lesser profits.

(4) Buying a company that’s near term production has a lot less risks as compared to a lithium company that’s cheaper but has just IPO or is only at the exploration/drilling stage.
