(12/02) Netflix (NFLX) Turnaround Plan 🔔

$Netflix(NFLX)$  Netflix Inc.’s turnaround plan is winning over investors, who have turned one of the worst-performing stocks early this year into one of the best in the second half. The catalyst for the comeback has been the streaming-video company’s introduction of a lower-priced, advertising-supported subscription tier, which is expected to help the Los Gatos, California-based company to attract new customers and retain old ones. The new plan comes at a time when a high level of inflation is eating into disposable incomes at households and streaming services seem one of the first luxuries consumers are choosing to cut down on. “The ad-supported pricing tier option of $6.99 seems well timed as consumers are looking

Netflix (NFLX) To Upending The TV Ad Market

$Netflix(NFLX)$ NETFLIX upended the global entertainment industry about a dozen years ago with a streaming video service that rendered network television programming schedules and film screening times all but irrelevant. Now, Netflix is gunning for the last reel of the pay TV business: its estimated US$153 billion pool of global advertising revenue. The company and some analysts see its new, cheaper ad-supported service, detailed in a rosy quarterly report on Tuesday, as a way to lift revenue as customers trim spending amid economic gloom. As TV’s audience shrinks, it becomes less attractive for advertisers – and a plum target for Netflix to disrupt. Netflix co-chief executive Reed Hastings said that insight dawned on him
