What S&P 500 May Bring in September? 🤔

The final trading week of August kicks off Monday, with all the major indices on track to finish the month with losses. The Dow and S&P have slumped 3.4% and 4%, respectively, since the start of the month, while the Nasdaq lost about 5.3%. Head & shoulders, knees & toes? Speaking Friday at the annual central bank conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Powell pointed to some signs of continued economic growth and strong consumer spending, but indicated that the central bank would “proceed carefully” with additional hikes. “Although inflation has moved down from its peak — a welcome development — it remains too high,” Powell said in prepared remarks. “We are prepared to raise rates further if appropriate, and intend to hold policy at a restrictive level until we are confident

The question on everyone's mind in the financial world is whether the market will rebound or make a new low. As we dissect the latest insights from the Jackson Hole meeting, it becomes apparent that the direction is not just a matter of speculation but grounded in analysis and trends. From my vantage point, the balance seems to tilt towards a market rebound. One key factor in this assessment is the containment of inflation. The deliberate steps taken to control inflation indicate that there's no pressing need to further increase rates. Opting to maintain the existing rates proves to be a sensible strategy, given the potential impact of a rate hike on economic growth and investor sentiment. Moreover, the Fed's aim of orchestrating a soft landing signals its preference for stability. This po

All eyes on Powell's big speech in Jackson Hole,Another Market Pullback may be on the way?

Recently, the upward trend of the US stock market is subject to the ever-increasing expectation of high interest rates, showing a high downward trend. Last week, due to the resilience of US macro data, strong job market data, and the hawkish influence of the minutes of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting, the 10-year US bond yield continued to rise, the risk appetite weakened, and the three major US stock indexes collectively entered into correction , while the the US Dollar Index fluctuated upward. In fact,it was not only US stocks that felled, but also MSCI Global Market Index closed down across the board, among which MSCI Asia (except Japan), Asia-Pacific region (except Japan), BRIC countries and Asia were among the top losers.US Treasury bond yields have climbed to a new highL

Signs that point me to a bullish SPY 1. Good support at 432 and 420 ==> 432 was a key resistance level past months and should not provide a good support; Similarly we took quite a while to break past 420 so the liquidity there will provide good support  2. MA5 yellow is basing past week and is coming close to MA20 for a potential cross over. ==> MA5 above MA20 is a bullish indicator  3. Lower bollinger band has also started to taper horizontally ==> indicating some form of basing or potential upcoming basing  4. MA20 green had been tested 2x so far and a better base had been formed past week around MA5 What to look out for?  - Support of 432 but keenly looking for re-testing of MA20 at the last breakout level of 444.  - Price action around MA5 Good

      S&P 500 & Nasdaq broke their 3-week losing streak

Both the S&P 500 & Nasdaq Composite ended Friday on a solid note, overcoming a morning dip in reaction to Fed chair Jerome Powell's remarks at Jackson Hole. Powell had indicated that the Federal Reserve was prepared to hike interest rates if needed. Wall Street's major averages opened in the green, but then started to give up their gains during Powell's speech, before slipping into the red. They resumed a steady upward climb soon after through the rest of the day. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (COMP.IND) added 0.94% to close at 13,590.65 points. The benchmark S&P 500 (SP500) rose 0.67% to settle at 4,405.72 points, while the blue-chip Dow (DJI) advanced 0.73% to finish at 34,346.96 points. The market is sensitive to Powell and a hawkish tone could send the market downwards. Expect volatility and there is chance for the market to spring back up if his tone is dovish. We may get some hint on where the interest rate is heading. Another hike would turn more away from stocks towards bonds.

Jackson hole . I am diversify into tiger vault ,SSB and t bills and QQQM

At the Jackson Hole conference, I'm keeping it brief.  Our main goal now is to get inflation back to 2%. Without stable prices, the economy's a mess. We're gonna have to endure some slower growth and higher rates, but it's worth it. The economy's slowing down from its 2021 high, but we're still strong. The labor market's doing great, but there's an imbalance. Inflation's high, and even though July looked better, we need more proof it's dropping. We're tightening up our policy to fix inflation. Raised the target rates recently and might do it again. We know it might hurt, but not fixing this would hurt more. Economy's got momentum, but we're cautious. We're learning from the past, making sure inflation stays low. Expectations matter. If folks think high inflation's here to stay, it'll

Is "zero dollar shopping" the top enemy of retailers?

In recent times, several American retailers have reported financial results below expectations, leading to significant drops in their stock prices. One common reason attributed to this phenomenon is "zero-dollar shopping." However, this term goes beyond mere promotional activities by businesses or "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) schemes; it refers to outright "robbery" or "theft."Indeed, during the pandemic period, such behavior emerged in various parts of the United States. Surveillance videos uploaded online during that time depicted groups of American youths gathering on the streets. Employing a "flash mob" approach, they kicked the glass doors of convenience stores, swiftly shattered the glass, and rushed in to loot all the merchandise.Retailers mentioning this concern include

Why Grab's Still Losing Three Years?

It has also been one of the stocks that has shown resilience this year, but struggled to make significant gains. Since the beginning of the year, its returns have lagged behind the S&P 500 (.SPX), with higher volatility. However, since March 2022, Grab's stock price has been fluctuating between $2 and $4, and regardless of its performance, it has been unable to break free from this range, let alone surpass the $10 mark it had during its SPAC issuance. The primary reason for this seems to be the persistently high valuation of the company.Q2 performance reveals

This po
