In Singapore, discussions around success are common, and the perception of what defines success often follows a traditional path. For children, success is typically measured by academic achievement—good grades are seen as the key to future opportunities. For adults, this often shifts to professional accomplishments, with a stable and prestigious career being the hallmark of success. And, of course, financial success is highly valued, with accumulating wealth seen as an essential goal. In this context, investing in stocks is one of the popular avenues for attaining wealth, with the hope that picking the right stocks—though a challenging and sometimes luck-based endeavor—can lead to significant financial gains. However, while money and material success are important to many, it is crucial to

In the ups and downs of the stock market, catching a few upswings which result in significant profits is definitely great. “Focusing on big pictures“ requires investors to identify undervalued assets and have the courage to buy at the bottom or short-sell when everyone is in a FOMO frenzy, placing large bets. Both approaches require courage and judgment. It involves taking trades that last a couple of days up to several months in order to profit from an anticipated price move. Swing trading exposes a trader to overnight and weekend risk, where the price could gap and open the following session at a substantially different price. On the other end are traders who opt to seize arbitrage opportunities during market fluctuations, making small profits each time and accumulating them over time. B

Taking Little Baby Steps to Build A Strong Portfolio

🌟🌟🌟There is a saying "Rome wasn't built in a day".  To me this means taking small steps to build something great.  That is how I intend to build a solid portfolio that will stand the test of time with a laser focus on achieving my goal of FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early. Taking small baby steps involves doing research on the best stocks/ ETFs to invest and then dollar cost averaging these quality stocks and Index ETFs over a long term horizon. Take for example my investment in $DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$  I have invested in DBS since 2020 and have slowly added my investment in DBS over time.  DBS ticks all the core fundamentals of a quality stock. At times, I find myself focusing on the big picture, while at other times I seek to accumulate small gains through stock trading. This dual approach reflects the complexities of my investment strategy and highlights the balance I strive to maintain between long-term growth and short-term profits. When it comes to treasury bond ETFs, my approach tends to prioritize the long-term outlook. I view these investments as stable components of my portfolio that can provide consistent returns over time. I believe they will perform well in the future, especially as interest rates are expected to decrease further. This expectation stems from the understanding that lower interest rates generally lead to increased bond prices, which aligns with my long-term investment goals. As a result, I often hold th
