Blackstone Is Buying REITs Hand Over FistAsset management giant Blackstone (BX) $Blackstone Group LP(BX)$boasts a portfolio of assets under management reaching nearly $1 trillion, made up largely of real estate. The asset manager partners with big money players like pension funds and insurance companies to provide strong returns and steady income.Though Blackstone sometimes acquires individual real estate properties, such as The Bellagio in Las Vegas, it more often seeks opportunities to scoop up whole portfolios that will move the needle. This year, the company has set its sights particularly on acquisitions of real estate investment trusts ("REITs").So far in 2022, Blackstone has bought or agreed to buy:* Preferred Apartment Communities (APTS) for

Speculative stocks allow you to earn higher % of profits than value stocks within a shorter term frame. Personally, bulk of my investments are in value/growth stocks and occasionally I would buy some speculative stocks!! $Bed Bath & Beyond(BBBY)$$AMTD Digital Inc.(HKD)$Just to share some personal experiences when I first started buying US stocks. Unlike SGX market, you can start to buy/sell your stocks during pre-market for US market. In the past, I would use DBS Vickers to buy/sell my stocks as it has one of the lowest commission fee for SGX stocks (using cash upfront) and the SGX stocks will be deposited under my CDP account. Furthermore, I do not want to take up the extra hassle to create

Balance⚖️ is the Key🔑 to My Investing-Adapt to the Changing 🌎Investing has changed a lot since technology & social media advanced-there’s no longer a clear direct relationship between a company’s fundamentals & it’s stock price. ⭐️ A company with strong fundamentals doesn’t necessarily have a high stock price & a company with poor fundamentals doesn’t necessarily have a low stock price. Classic example: Unpopular Value stocks VS Popular Meme stocks 🤷🏻‍♀️⭐️ 2 companies with similar fundamentals can have very different stock prices as well😅⭐️ The same company listed on different stock exchanges can have very different stock prices. Classic example: Piedmont Lithium is less than 1 AUD on the ASX🥳 BUT it’s USD 50-70+ in Nasdaq😨⭐️ I’ve come to realise that as the 🌎 progresses, we ne

I would say I profit more from value investing than from speculation, but the loss is also more from value investing! Why do I say that? The amount of funds that I used for value investing is significantly higher than speculative stocks! I have only started investing around Oct 2020 after the market has started to recover from the Covid-19 bear rally. As a beginner, there's so many stocks to choose from and Im totally overwhelmed! Of course I started with local SGX stocks first and my choice was $Nikko AM STI ETF(G3B.SI)$, which consists of top 3 banks, Singtel etc. That proves to be a great choice as the share prices of most SGX stocks were at their all-time low and the returns were quite significant over a few weeks.Feeling more conf

The boom or bust or high risk high reward from meme stocks are not for me.   I like to sleep well at night and know that my portfolio will generate passive income over long term.My motto in investing is  "Slow and Steady Wins The Race".   So yes,  I am very much a value investor with a long term horizon of at least 10 to 20 years.  I seek and invest in  quality stocks that have wide moats, are profitable,  strong balance sheet and excellent management.  The best time to buy them is when they are on sale especially in Bear Markets.   I embrace volatility as it is only then that I can buy these quality stocks below their intrinsic value.   Then I simply hold them long term.A good example is

Especially of late, themes are king. You want to find what is trendy and invest there. Many unfashionable stocks are underperforming badly regardless of stellar P/E ratios etc.

Prefer Value investing. Although the gains from speculation look fantastic, it is the solid gains from Value investing that have durability. The probability of gains in Value investing trumps speculation anytime too!

Sad to say that everytime I venture into a speculative stock, I end up not gaining anything, that's the unfortunate luck I had so far [Cry] Value investment on the other hand has been treating me pretty well. Do your homework and the let the great companies work it out over time...it will come good eventually. Good things happen to those who wait [Grin]

Wow i loss money from speculation stocks, so i try another approach this year, invest for long term goal, pick the stock carefully, which stock i think undervalued, is this under category of value ingesting ? Yes [Happy] Value investing is the art of buying stocks which trade at a significant discount to their intrinsic value. Value investors achieve this by looking for companies on cheap valuation metrics, typically low multiples of their profits or assets, for reasons which are not justified over the longer term.So i profit more from value investing but still very small because market down turn, i will continue to learn to achieve better results!
