Ampol shares rallied 4.6 per cent after it said it was expecting earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation at $800 million for the first half of financial 2023.Woodside shares rose 1 per cent even revenue in the second quarter dropped 29 per cent to $US3.1 billion ($4.5 billion).The financials sector climbed 1.1 per cent, with all the major banks in the green. It comes as bank shares on Wall Street bolstered the major indices higher.Commonwealth Bank shares jumped 1.4 per cent, Westpac added 1.3 per cent, ANZ increased 1 per cent and National Australia Bank firmed 1.5 per cent.Northern Star Resources tumbled 5.4 per cent.
