Videogame retailer GameStop Corp. $(GME)$ said Tuesday it has appointed former Amazon executive Elliott Wilke to the role of chief growth officer effective April 5.
Wilke has held a range of roles at Amazon in branding, consumer goods and e-commerce, in segments including Amazon Fresh, Prime Pantry and Worldwide Private Brands. He also spent more than a decade at consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble $(PG)$.
"At GameStop, Mr. Wilke will oversee growth strategies and marketing, with a focus on increasing customer loyalty and growing the reach of Power Up Rewards and Game Informer," the company said in a statement.
GameStop also named Andrea Wolfe vice president of brand development.
Wolfe was previously Chewy's vice president of marketing. GameStop named Tom Petersen vice president of merchandising, the role he previously served at Chewy's. The pair will join Ryan Cohen, Chewy founder, who joined the GameStop board late last year.
GameStop shares were up 3.7% premarket and have gained more than 860% in the year to date, after being caught up in a trading frenzy fueled by an investor group on Reddit. The S&P 500 has gained 6% in the year to date.
