Too late to invest in SIA?

$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$  has risen over 40% YTD. So the question here is - will this rally continue?

Quick look at the potential challenges in the industry:

1) A recessionary outlook might lead to a cautious consumerism in discretionary travels.

2) Global airlines are largely returning to pre-pandemic international capacity, hence posing some competition to SIA.

What about the potential upsides for the industry?:

1) Travel demand recovery is still in progress with high travel demand expected in the northern hemisphere in 2H23. This could drive up revenue further.

2) SIA has plans to further increase its flight capacity to ~90% of pre-pandemic levels by end of 2024 and that could drive up revenue further.

With that, do consider the pros and cons before taking the next step to invest in SIA.

The board just need to extend the age of the retiring fleet by 1 year. Then the price will go up to $10.
