The biggest gamechanger for me in using ChatGPT is how it can synthesise information in a way that fits with my mental models. For example, I spent some time a few weeks ago trying to understand how to do client side encryption in a more robust manner. My approach prior to ChatGPT would've been to google questions like "How can I encrypt data at rest without it being vulnerable to someone with the database credentials?" The answers are normally very hit and miss. Perhaps someone might've written a Stack Overflow post answering that specific question but it's likely that the wording would be a bit different and I wouldn't get the answer without trawling through a bunch of unrelate content.
Being able to ask follow up questions, including completely off the wall ones like "Ok I get how I could do it in AWS - how would I do it in Azure?" and then "Thanks - can you now write some infrastructure as code for me to implement it" is such a paradigm shift. [Sly] [Sly]
