Selling For Premium
2023-09-04

Hello everyone! Today I want to share some option strategies with you! Hope it can be helpful to you!

$GitLab, Inc.(GTLB)$ releases earnings after market close on Tuesday this week.

Gonna take an optionselling trade on it today.

- Expected move = 14% (that's a big move)

- Bottom was at 26 and was the lowest price since its IPO

- We like this stock for a long-term hold and wouldn't mind assignment

- Sold puts on the Sep 8 expiration, 37 strike (which is at the gap)

- Not doing anything fancy here (strangles or iron condors) ... simply selling a put

$Zscaler Inc.(ZS)$ releases earnings after market close on Tuesday this week. Gonna take an optionselling trade on it today.

- Expected move = ~8%

- Microsoft getting into their space is going to provide competition and possibly issues for ZS

- The recent pump in the stock has us concerned that MMs might be setting up for an earnings dump, but no way to know for sure and we could be totally wrong

- Sold an iron condor ... Sep 8 expiration

- Call spread is 190 strike sold 210 strike bought (taking advantage of the upwards momentum the stock has been having)

- Put spread is 130 strike sold and 100 strike bought (20% down move is 126, so we sold slightly above that to capture a bit more premium)
