I would like to use one word “defeat” to summarize my portfolio in October 2023. It was the worst performance of my portfolio since I joined Tiger Broker in May 2021.

My portfolio has improved with the good news from Federal Reserve that it’s holding interest rates steady following its Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 meeting, leaving the federal funds rate at a target range of 5.25 to 5.5 percent. It’s the third time in the last four meetings that the Fed has held rates steady, though the central bank has raised rates a total of 11 times during this economic cycle in an effort to tamp down high inflation..

Hopefully by the early 2024, all the stocks in my portfolio will turn green.
