A WEE WAGER
Ok, so Barcode and I have decided to have a small bet. She seems to be crazy bullish on an ANZ company called $PROPEL LTD(PFP.AU)$ While I feel the same about a USANZ company called $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$.
So the wager was I buy PFP and she buys RKLB, I just brought one share yesterday for $5.60. She was going to buy ten shares of RKLB today. The winner is the one who gave the other the winning trade. Of course we will only look at the return on 1 share, but the winner has to buy the coffee. Since we both live in New Zealand and are around 100km apart we decided we could catch up in Silverdale in a month for a coffee and a chat (so I can get my free coffee lol)
Really fancy the whole brunch for free, rather than just the coffee, but to be fair, just to chat in person with another investor. It's just quite cool.
Kinda trying to set up a thread here for people that are interested in the bet thing we have going, maybe more for fellow kiwis that would actually be able to meet in person. It would be fun for others to maybe speculate on which stock of the two they would back.
Oh and BC I hope you don't mind me posting this, but I am interested in what you picked up Rklb for today as a reply. I like to enjoy life, and our little wager is like... just fun

Meanwhile, you’ve been singing praises for Rocket Lab (RKLB), convinced it’ll sprint past my steady eddy. You might recall your enthusiasm didn't quite catch my attention when I first posted—no hard feelings, just checking if your crystal ball has gotten any clearer since then. As for RKLB, I took the plunge and snagged a single share at market open yesterday at $4.20, watched it climb to $4.40 at today's close. Not too shabby!
So, about our friendly wager—remind me, when are we closing this bet again, EI? The stakes? Loser treats to brunch and an extra-large latte (you know my order!) at that swanky Orewa spot you can't stop raving about. Regardless of who wins, we’ll both enjoy great food and better company.
And oh, a glance at my PFP in Sharesies shows a comfy 10.25% gain since the tail end of 2023. How’s your Rocket Lab expedition going? If this was your clever ruse for a date, it’s quite the smooth move—almost had me fooled! Guess it’s your round to smash the piggy bank when I'm back from holiday late July!
