Option Strategies: AMZN& COIN

Selling For Premium
10-31

Hello everyone! Today i want to share some option strategies with you!

1.

$Amazon.com(AMZN)$ releases earnings Thursday after market close. Expected move is ~6%. From closing price today, double the expected move would position downside to around 170.

- 200EMA is around 176

- Volume cluster support drops off around 168

- Aug 5th BTFD bottom range at 150-160

Price action on big tech earnings came in a bit disappointing with MSFT and META today. Has us a bit more hesitant going into tomorrow with AMZN and AAPL.

Depending on how AMZN trades into the close tomorrow, we may sell puts (for assignment as we want shares) at the 170 or lower strikes.

2.

Trying something different here than we normally do. Bought a call calendar spread on $Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$ to play it for earnings today.

- Bought the Dec 20 2024 $280 call

- Sold the Jan 17 2025 $300 call

Received a net credit on the trade. Will take profit on the trade after earnings if we can close out both positions for net profit. Will roll up the 280 to the Jan. expiration before the Dec. expiry to try and mitigate some of the loss if COIN looks like its gonna breach 300 by Jan. ... or could roll the entire position if need be.
