I honestly don’t think there’s any entertainment app I could never give up, and that’s because, at the moment, I don’t really use many entertainment apps. Even when I do use them, the frequency is quite low. This might be because I’m often busy creating posts on Tiger Brokers to earn Tiger Coins (yes, I’m being productive, haha!).
That said, there are a few entertainment apps I find interesting and may potentially engage with more in the future, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Disney+. These platforms offer a wide range of content, from movies and TV shows to educational videos and tutorials, which could be a great way to unwind after a busy day. However, even with these apps, I still don’t think I could say that I "cannot" give them up. They’re not a necessity for me.
Here are a few points to further explain why none of these apps are indispensable:
-
Content Availability: While Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and YouTube offer a vast library of movies and series, I can always find alternative ways to access entertainment. Whether it's through other streaming services, free platforms, or even offline content like DVDs, there are plenty of options out there. With so many choices, it’s hard to imagine any one app being irreplaceable.
-
Not a Priority: My time is often focused on things like personal development and even socializing with friends and family. Entertainment apps are enjoyable, but they don’t take priority in my daily routine. In fact, I often find myself going without them for days or even weeks without feeling any significant loss.
-
Potential Overload: In today’s world, there’s so much content available across multiple platforms that it can be overwhelming. I don't feel the need to have every entertainment app available to me. Limiting the number of apps I use ensures I’m not wasting time mindlessly scrolling or binge-watching shows for hours.
-
Alternative Forms of Entertainment: Sometimes I enjoy other forms of entertainment, such as reading, gaming, or outdoor activities. These interests often take the place of watching movies or shows. I find that balance keeps me from feeling dependent on entertainment apps.
-
Social Media and Other Platforms: Social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter provide plenty of entertainment in the form of videos, memes, and engaging content. These apps give me a mix of entertainment and information, so they often fulfill the same role as traditional entertainment apps but in a more interactive way.
-
Personal Content Creation: Platforms like Tiger Brokers offer a unique combination of productivity and entertainment. Creating content to earn Tiger Coins is an enjoyable process, and it allows me to make entertainment a more productive activity, rather than just passive consumption.
-
Mental Clarity: Sometimes taking a break from entertainment apps can actually improve mental clarity and productivity. While they can be fun, I find that taking time off from apps like Netflix, Disney+, or YouTube allows me to focus better on my goals and tasks.
-
Not All Content is Essential: While Disney+ offers iconic content, especially for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars fans, it’s still not something I "cannot" give up. I appreciate the nostalgia and value of the content, but the shows and movies aren’t critical for my day-to-day life.
-
Stock Performance: One thing that can’t be ignored, though, is the impressive performance of the stocks of these companies. Netflix, Amazon, Disney, and even YouTube’s parent company, Alphabet (Google), are leading players in the entertainment and tech sectors. Their stock prices have generally performed well, and they remain solid investments. This does make me keep an eye on these companies, not only for the content they provide but also for their financial performance and potential for growth. Even if I don’t feel an urgent need to use their apps, I recognize the value in staying informed about these companies’ progress.
In conclusion, while entertainment apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and YouTube are fun and can provide relaxation, I don't feel tied to any specific one. They’re optional for me, and I’ve realized that I don’t need to rely on them for enjoyment or to unwind. I think the key is balancing entertainment with other aspects of life to keep things fresh and fulfilling. And, of course, with the strong stock performances of these companies, it’s good to keep an eye on them as solid players in the market, even if I don’t use their apps every day.
