I didn't invest US stocks at all in year 2024. I invested in SG dividend stocks, HK ETF and emerging markets ETF.

I got 10% profits, or 40k, 20k profits come from dividend income in year 2024.

I started dividend stocks investment from year 2022, I gradually added the position following Fed interest rates hiking pace.

I got a little profits in year 2024 when US Fed started cutting interest.

I satisfied my investment. I am not jealous US stocks market bull, US stocks are really not cheap.

History shows that the most important criterion for long-term investors is to buy and hold stocks that stay reasonably priced present healthy fundamentals, not to pursue those firms that grow the fastest. Stocks with fastest growing tends to be overvalued.

I don't believe in predicting the market. I believe that buying great companies, especially those that are undervalued and/or not properly recognized by the market, is the way to invest successfully.

There's personal setback recently in December. My left ear was suddenly totally deaf, I stayed in the hospital for 10 days, but it could not recover. It also affects my balance control in short term. The doctor said Brain can restore balance ability after brain adapt new ear condition. I lowered my salary income expectations for the future.

The dividends income gives me some comfort, I don't have any bank loan, 20k/ year dividend is enough for my family routine daily expenses.

Did Your 2024 Returns Beat the Retail Investor Average of 9.8%?
Data shows that the average retail investor return is 9.8%, clearly lagging behind the S&P 500’s impressive 23% this year. While the average retail investor’s return is only 9.8%, Tiger users seem to be doing much better. We estimate that the median return among Tiger users is likely between 15% and 20%. -------------- Do you trust your own investing skills more, or would you rather rely on fund managers? What was your return this year, and how many Tiger users did you outperform? Did your annual return meet the target you set for yourself?
