The longest-held Singapore stock one can have is $OCBC Bank(O39.SI)$. Is was incorporated during the Great Depression on 31 October 1932. It was a merger of 3 Hokkien banks dating back to 1912. During those years we held the share certificates of the bank to prove our ownership. OCBC has acquired more banks and grown steadily over the century, surviving the Second World War. This is a resilient and solid bank as good as gold. We keep it for the reliable twice-yearly dividend income. Even if one only started investing in OCBC 10 years ago, the total dividends collected and the growth in share price would amount to 119% gain over the initial cost. That translates into a compound annual growth rate of 8.2% over 10 years, well beating the long-term inflation rate. Thanks @Tiger_SG @TigerStars @icycrystal @1PC
