$GOOG vs $Z: Listings Test, Not a Zillow Killer

$Alphabet(GOOG)$ $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ trying to eat $Zillow(Z)$ 's lunch.

Well, Z's lunch and potentially $Rocket Companies(RKT)$ & $Opendoor Technologies Inc(OPEN)$ 's lunch too.

But get this...

Take a looky at the official google blogs from 2009 & 2011.

In 2009, GOOG tried adding the ability to find property for sale or rent directly on Google Maps.

2011, the effort folded.

Failed once, now trying again?

(side note... GOOG's president & CIO handles the "other bets" investment port, with real estate included👀)

Ya maybe Z's gonna get f'd up a little bit (if this gets traction)...but panic around RKT, OPEN, etc is overblown.

Google’s not suddenly buying homes or writing mortgages...it’s just testing real estate listings in search.

Pretty interesting direction from the GOOG team though.
