I read the article with disbelief 🫢. It is a totally different feeling that I think this article should be shared and widely re-shared. Options trading is not the root cause of the big losses stated in the article, it is the incredulous ignorance among the participants.

Yes, I mention the word, "participants" rather than calling them "investors". These people do not even qualified as "speculators" since apparently they just follow their leader blindly! They do not appear to have any understanding of the trades that were involved. Options trading is simply the instrument. This instrument could be anything, since the participants did not bother to find out before joining the foray. 

The article carries a funny snippet too. One of the participants has actually setup a GoFund me page!? Wow 😮... unbelievable if you ask me. If you have money to throw around somewhere, you have no money to eat? How ridiculously pathetic human's greed and ignorance could led us to behave.

I am not sharing this article to joke or laugh about someone's stupidity or misfortune. It is a timely reminder on the first day of the new year (2026!!!) to start the year in the right way. There's a Chinese saying, "a year's plan starts from spring, a day's plan begins from the morning". I would like to use the article to remind myself that it is fundamentally important to understand what we are getting ourselves into no matter what we do. Even for options trading, it is best to learn and test slowly by ourselves. 🐯 offers the necessary information for users to learn the different strategies. The community offers the opportunity for user's experience exchanges. 

In the new year, if you are serious to learn about options, don't be afraid or lazy. Very importantly, do not rely on those advertisements or others. Learn... test... find a strategy best suits you. Take your time and take responsible for your own money! Yes, in case we have forgotten, it is after all our own money we are talking about. There's no quick money grabbing strategy. Just slow and steady wins the race.

A final word of caution: if it so happens that when you started out, however you trade, you win... don't think you are genius. It might just mean that market is overly friendly. A rising tide 🌊  lifts all boats 🛶 🚤 🛥️ ! Stay alert, continue to learn. It's when the market starts correcting will we really know if our learning is on the right track.
