$APPLIED DIGITAL CORP(APLD)$ is heading into earnings with one of the more interesting setups in the AI infrastructure space.

The company reports Wednesday, and expectations are high: analysts are looking for roughly 94% year-over-year revenue growth.

But this isn’t just another “AI is growing” story.

The real question is whether Applied Digital can turn the massive demand for AI computing capacity into real, scalable revenue.

That’s becoming increasingly important as investors move beyond the headline AI trade and start asking which companies can actually generate cash from the infrastructure boom.

APLD has attracted attention for its data-centre strategy and potential expansion of its AI infrastructure business. One analyst highlighted its growth prospects and maintained a Buy rating ahead of the results.

🎯 The earnings test

A big revenue-growth number could keep the momentum going.

But investors will likely be watching three things:

• Revenue growth — can APLD deliver anywhere close to expectations?

• AI infrastructure demand — are customers signing up for meaningful capacity?

• Cash flow and profitability — can rapid expansion eventually translate into better economics?

That’s where the opportunity — and the risk — sits.

The AI infrastructure trade is no longer just about the biggest chipmakers.

The next winners could be the companies providing the power, data centres and computing capacity needed to keep the whole ecosystem running.

APLD is one of the smaller names trying to capture that demand.

Wednesday’s earnings could tell us whether this is an emerging AI infrastructure winner — or simply another stock trading ahead of its fundamentals.

Gross margin matters first here. In a power-heavy model like APLD, depreciation and electricity costs will tell the real story more than that 94% revenue growth.
