I have been investing in the stock market since 1999. Very small amounts at the start and I kept myself pretty diversified and balanced. That is until I realized Apple was going to be my number one race horse and started putting disproportional amounts of money there. And of course insane growth followed.$Apple(AAPL)$
This all worked out great for my net worth, but now I've got Apple as 70% ( and at one point 85%! ) of my portfolio's total value. Any tips on how to diversify without realizing all those gains? I have been slowly buying other stocks over time from the proceeds from options plays and new income brought in from my day job, but with Apple continuing to rise and rise, I am never putting much of a dent into it. I buy on margin from time to time, but often wonder if I'm not leveraging it enough. Any other strategies out there that I should be following?
