In my opinion, the Forbes Influencers List 2022 is a mix of apples and pears.
The term influencer refers to a person with the ability to influence others, mainly through social networks. From here, compare the influence that Elon Musk can exert on issues such as mobility, neuroscience or the space race, with that that Kim Kardashian can exert on issues such as having a smooth complexion, or how to dress in the latest fashion, I think that this is a mistake, because the type of influence that the former exerts on society is not the same as that offered by the Kardashian on issues of less importance.
This is why I feel obliged to establish differences between INFLUENCERS and “influencers”.
For me, what is an INFLUENCER?
Well, he is a person like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, a person to begin with, educated, with extensive and accredited knowledge, great experience, a good communicator and good judgment, analytical skills and a critical spirit, and capable of shaping the world. Unfortunately, there are not that many of these, and they only reach a few minorities (in relation to the totality, understand me…) concerned about the issues, let’s say serious, of our society.
It is convenient to distinguish these people from the “influencers” that swarm through social networks, people who manage these networks very well and know how to take advantage of them for their own benefit. I’m talking mainly about Tiktokers and Instagrammers, some with millions of followers, who with their mobile in hand 24/365, constantly bombard us with photos and videos, often with the sole purpose of collecting followers and receiving “likes”, to in a second part, to be able to monetize their work to live from it by selling what the companies manufacture and who prefer to advertise it this way.
The FIRST has nothing to do with the “second”. A TOP example of INFLUENCER, of course, is Elon Musk, or Mark Zuckerberg, who is capable of showing an advanced and permanently updated vision of where our world is heading, providing all his followers with an image that places us beyond the horizon line. temporary.
These men contribute to my having a certain up-to-date opinion on many things, which I would not have if I lacked their perception, and which would be much more difficult for me to obtain using my own means.
On the contrary, as a TOP example of “influencer” I choose Kim Kardashian, a woman with more followers than Ursula Von Der Layen or Nancy Pelosi, but much less important than the last two, although she is surely capable of getting millions of women use a certain cream for the skin, but for me that does not matter.
And although I know that all of you who read me already know the difference between one type of influencer and another, I feel obliged to explain this difference to highlight that it is not convenient to mix the two types of influence.
To say that this year 75 influencers entered the FORBES list, and that by sector the list of influencers in Spain, and I think it is comparable to that of any other country, is as follows:

- 16 influencers in the Entertainment sector
- 12 influencers in the Lifestyle sector
- 6 influencers in the Travel sector
- 5 influencers in the Next Generation sector
- 5 influencers in the Food sector
- 5 influencers in the Techno sector
- 4 influencers in the Business sector, including Enrique Dans
- 3 influencers in the motor sector that most catch my attention
- 1 influencer in the Creativity sector
- 1 influencer in the Beauty sector
- 1 influencer on Positive Change
Given the composition of the list, what most strikes me is in which sectors the greatest capacity for influence of networks in our society is located. If we look at it by the number of influencers, we see that what most interests our society is Fashion, Entertainment and Lifestyle, and then, and from a distance, everything else.
No one cares what might happen to work tomorrow, whether we will be able to withstand the consequences of climate change, whether there will be food and water for everyone in the future, and so on. That said: fashion, entertainment and lifestyle. That is what really matters to our young generations today. So much time with the mobile in hand, and how little benefit they get out of it. They will have time in the future to deal with other issues. Anyway, that’s how the world is today: at your ball.
