Global Inflation Fears Still Linger

Global inflation fears still linger, let’s look at the region at their historical high in decades:

• Australia at 7.3%

The annual inflation rate in Australia climbed to 7.3% in Q3 of 2022 from 6.1% in Q2, above market forecasts of 7.0%. This was the highest since Q2 1990

• New Zealand at 7.2%

The inflation rate in New Zealand rose 7.20 percent YoY in the fourth quarter of 2022 at the same level of 7.20 percent in the third quarter of 2022. Highest since 1988.

• Singapore at 5.1%

2022 core inflation averaged 4.1 per cent, higher than the figure of 0.9 per cent in 2021. Overall inflation came in at 6.1 per cent, up from 2.3 per cent the previous year.

• Japan at 4%

Japan's inflation rate has jumped to a fresh 41-year high at 4%
