The largest holding in my portfolio now is $LION OCBC HSTECH ETF S$(HST.SI)$ . This largest holding has been a great disappointment and headache since I bought it in July 2021,

Many economists are expecting the Chinese economy to be one of the brightest spots in another widely expected tough year for the global economy. With the rapidly rebounding of the Chinese economy from the impact of the pandemic, hopefully, $LION OCBC HSTECH ETF S$(HST.SI)$ will become one of my favorite stocks in 2023 with my position turning to profitable and the share price soaring up to the moon πŸš€πŸš€πŸš€.

I have been buying it about 26 times since Jul 2021 whenever the share price has dropped to averaging down the cost price from S$1.31. The more I buy the share, the more the price has dropped, so it ended become my largest holding stock which is not what I have expected.

Investing in $LION OCBC HSTECH ETF S$(HST.SI)$ was a very painful lesson for me in my first year of investment journey. I have learned not to average down the cost price of the stock unless it has dropped a quite substantial amount and I have to do my own due diligence before investing a stock & not just follow blindly to what the analyst said as they might not be right all the times.

Hope this gets better soon❣️ Yes the idea of averaging down doesnt quite work although many people keep talking or posting about itπŸ˜…Need to find right time to average down and also can only average down on stocks thy can recover. Usually I only average down when drop 20% and for stocks that Iβ€˜m super confident with, I find it works better. For stocks that I not very confident, just leave it there dont average down because if i chose a good stock, it will eventually recover when market recovers. Then once it recovers, i just sell at break-even.

Have to look at the support levels and mark it on your charts, tools like Trading View are useful for this. Do not buy until it reaches your next support level.

Think we all in this vote, not as high as you, but we are all feeling. All you can do is hold, and hope it doesn't drop off the page. Most will return even in time.
