Previously, the Singapore Tourism Board stated that with the increase in the number of flights and China's resumption of outbound tourism, the recovery of Singapore's tourism industry will accelerate.

"It is expected that the number of international tourists visiting Singapore will reach 12 million to 14 million in 2023, returning to 75% before the epidemic In 2019, the number of inbound tourists from Singapore totaled 19.12 million.”

According to recent data provided by China Aviation Travel, since the restart of the outbound and group tour pilot program on February 6, 2022, the number of inbound and outbound civil aviation passengers of China’s domestic airlines has exceeded 276,000, an increase of nearly 4.4 times compared with the same period last year. Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Xiamen, Chengdu is the top 5 cities with the largest number of outbound tourists.

From the perspective of outbound travel routes, Southeast Asian countries led by Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore are still the most popular overseas destinations for Chinese tourists.

China has long been a major source of tourists for Singapore. In 2019, more than 3.6 million Chinese tourists visited Singapore. With the orderly recovery of China's outbound tourism, Singapore tourism operators said they "see hope".

Local tourism operators in Singapore are constantly updating and improving their products and services to meet the needs of group tours, leisure travel and business travel tourists to Singapore.

For example, Changi Airport Group has continued to improve airport services in the past two years and has cooperated with airline partners to cope with the strong tourism demand after recovery; many Singapore hotels have also launched special services for Chinese tourists.

With renewed optimism on Chinese tourism, a couple of sectors will benefit which includes airlines, hotels, entertainment and retail sector.
$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$, being the best airline globally, will benefit from easing travel restriction increasing flight frequency to China. Its record operating profit is a testament of airlines being one of the greatest beneficiaries of reopening.
Based on Singapore Tourism Board’s insights on Chinese travelers, the predominant activities are shopping, casino and sight-seeing. $GENTING SINGAPORE LIMITED(G13.SI)$ provides a one-stop integrated resort that offers gambling (casino), attractions (Universal Studios, Sea Aquarium) & various dining options.
The recovery of visitors have boosted Genting’s profit by 85% a year ago, with its gaming revenue up by over 100% and non-gaming revenue nearby doubled.
Hotels will also benefit though lesser due to the no. of excellent choices available in SG. For e.g. $Ascott Trust(HMN.SI)$.

The SGX stock that will benefit from tourism would be Singapore Airlines (c6L) and Mandarin Oriental (M04). And travel services to recommend to future tourists would be Festivals and events that celebrate local history, culture, harvest time, foods, music, or celebrities; Built attractions, such as monuments, amusement parks, zoos, or theme parks; and. Local businesses and retail stores where visitors can shop or be pampered. These are what attracts visitors to a town or country.

$Mapletree PanAsia Com Tr(N2IU.SI)$ which have presence in HK, SG and other part of Asia stand to benefit. Likewise, $CapitaLandInves(9CI.SI)$ may also benefit since rich chinese tend to prefer owning properties over stocks and will consider SG high end properties as a safe haven to preserve wealth.

My top pick would definitely be $SATS LTD.(S58.SI)$ given their business in capturing the services inbound and outbound tourists. Given its business nature, it requires lowee capex than $Singapore Airlines Ltd.(SINGF)$.

However, the new management has made some terrible mistake in the latest aquitisition which in my opinion has eroded the years of accumulated wealth of shareholders. Thankfully, I managed to exit before the announcement.

Given the lukewarm interest, should the financial numbers improves, there might be an uptick in the share prices if investors are drawn into it.
