What is next for Twitter after firing 3 execs ?
Really dislike the choice of word "fired" used. A more civilised alternative could be :
a. made redundant,
b. retrenched
c. asked to go etc..."
There are more than one way to skin a cat no ? Hmm....
To know whether Mr Trump will return to TWTR is to recognize basic traits of men with big egos. What are they ?
1. Self absorbed.
2. Talks more than listen.
3. Lives 24x7 in front of a media platform.
4. Talk as if he/she is subject matter expertise.
5. Hypocritical.
After a very public spate between the 2 men this Jul 2022 with :
a. ex-president calling mr musk a "bullshxt artist" and divulging his state of desperateness seeking fundings for Tesla's & SpaceX's when the companies were still in infant stage.
b. musk understandly embarrassed, retaliated by insulting mr trump; suggesting he should hang up his hat and sail into the sunset.
Between then and now, Mr Trump's answer to $Twitter(TWTR)$- alternate app "Truth Social" is available publicly for the first time.
Would Mr Trump devote his limited time & energy to (a) fortify Twitter (competitor) OR (b) promote his own apps ? Needless to say, anyone with common sense will have the answer already no ?
Being a master of social media manipulation, the ex-president nevertheless, has sent a congratulatory mesg to mr musk to exhibit graciousness. Thats all to that, no more and no less.
After a successful arm-twisting that left self-centred Billionaire without any option but to proceed with TWTR purchase, he is officially the owner of Twitter that is predominantly US popular.
On the first day of work, he retrenched 3 of the C-suite members. He understands the law of the jungle where there could only be one alpha beast. That would be him the Chief Twit.
{Refer to first file - Twitter org chart}.
Possible staff to be retrenched :
1. Leslie Berland - Chief Marketing Officer. Who needs a marketing head when TWTR will be privatised from 08 Nov 2022.
2. Sarah Personette - Chief Customer Officer. With his vision of a more "relaxed" apps, customers will be happier and therefore less of a need to manage them; so the man believes. So this role is hanging by a thread as well.
Quote :
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Unquote.
Will there be more retrenchment to come ? Of course ! To believe that it would be business as usual would be foolish; based on his track records.
Similarly if you believe that he would keep TWTR private, think again. The coming privatisation is for him to re-group and morphed it something "better" (subjective).
Wasn't it him who had always "complained" about Twitter’s content moderation policies ? And how he aims to restore “free speech" to the people ? LOL
"Freedom" comes with a price" .... C.S. Lewis
Barely 2 days into ownership, Twitter been hit by a more than 50,000 tweets from 300 accounts; bombarding the platform with hateful content.
Will this :
1. escalate into something so serious that would require an outright shutdown ?
2. further sow discord undermining society ?
At the same time, Twitter is also experiencing an exodus of US celebrities :
- Alex Winter : Bill & Ted
- Shonda Rhimes : Screenwriter
- Ken Olin : Executive producer
- Brian Koppelman : Billions showrunner
- Sara Bareilles : Grammys winner
- Jameela Jamil : Actor, TV presenter
Will the departure snowball ? Will the celebrities' departure influence their fans' departure in turn ?
Will the "demise" of Twitter becomes boom of alternate equivalent apps like "Tribel", "Mastodon", "Parler" ?
As mr musk ponders how he would be able to elevate Twitter, his brilliance is once again put to the test. Will he have the luxury of time to successful re-launch Twitter ? Lets watch together shall we ? Whahahha..
Do add your view in the Comments section. Love to know what you think of the "to be" Twitter.
