I assume this is an arbitrage issue, with the large funds/ investment banks. Here is what I think they are doing or have done.. They bought large positions for upcoming hong kong listing. Price under 43 per ADR, These HK common shares are convertible to ADRS here in USA at 2 to 1 ratio. So know they own millions of shares in HK, at a lower price than here. they short here. drive it down, knowing they can cover ( if needed) with their HK shares. in essence selling high and buying low. So in essence they/ investment banks and funds, heavily shorted today. I expect once HK starts trading on the 7th, shares will spike. This is a short term issue. Xpev will go up, very soon.
