$Meta Materials Inc.(MMAT)$   A lot of people asking what is going on. Long story but this is the short play. An s1 has been filed to take this stock private. This should be approved any day. Finra reports about 6.3 million short positions. Common sentiment from the ogs is that there is about 80 million short positions. Either way once the s1 is approved, short positions have to be closed out, every one of them, as the ticker is going away. The unique part is that it will be a set date about two weeks from approval. Hence a short squeeze and the more retail holds and doesn't sell then the more violent the squeeze will be. If it is truly 80 million short positions $100+ is highly likely. 6.3 million should easily take it over $50. Either

WOW, I just got $1.64 for June $85 Puts. $1.64 / ($83.36 effective cost basis if it hits me @$85) = almost 2% for 72 days of "insurance". This all assumes ABNB doesn't go down to $85 by June. Basically getting 10% annualized (2% in 72 days = 10% Annualized) to insure ABNB against an additional $28 drop. Is ABNB really going to plunge 25% ($28 / $113) in the next 72 days..? Not likely. If it does I'll take it at $85 or technically $83.36 given I pre-collected the $1.64 today. Umm, "several years" is actually one year, the company has a cash reserve of 789 million dollars and an expected burn rate of 100 million a year, though since Siebel has stated that they would be cash neutral by Q4 of 2024 (fiscal, not calendar year, which means by summer of 2024) that would get the cash balance down to the upper 600's, a bit lower than maybe what Siebel suggested in Q2 of 2023 when he stated that the cash reserve would not dip below 700 million. Yet there were some unknowns based on the pivot from subscription based revenues to consumption based revenues. These higher interest rates currently work to the company's advantage as they have no revolving debt with floating interest, yet they do receive interest payments on their cash reserves.
