I dun fully agreed with the analysis, cause Teslar is more then an EV manufacturing company. The writer did not mention on the teslar batteries contibution to the company revenue as well as AI. So all in all, teslar is mote than jus EV company.

The electric vehicle, or EV, company is moving towards a robotaxi business and is apparently working with the Trump Administration on a couple of policies not guaranteed to benefit the company. My investment thesis is now Bearish on the stock, especially after the post-election hype rally of over $100 now.

Source: Finviz

Eliminating EV Credits

Trump’s transition team may plan to end the $7,500 EV tax credit for consumers, in a move Musk has apparently signalled as ok. Tesla obtains over 60%x of automotive sales from outside the U.S., so the impact would be smaller than feared.

The logic that Tesla can more easily fend off competition in the EV space isn't as logical here. Without the $7,500 credit, traditional internal combustion, or ICE, vehicles would become more attractive and the incentives wouldn't exist for the U.S. consumer to transition to EVs.

Tesla is pushing full speed ahead into robotaxis costing $30K with a massive opportunity to get ahead of the market by obtaining the $7,500 EV tax credit on those vehicles. Either way, the loss of the EV credit would appear to hurt Tesla, as much as competitors in the robotaxi race as competitors like Rivian (RIVN).

On the Q3 '24 earnings call, Musk even hinted at the Cybercab needed the EV tax incentive to compete, as follows:

Yeah. It'll be with incentive sub-30k, which is kind of a key threshold.

The EV company was already expected to generate substantial growth in 2025 from production growth via higher sales of the Model 3/Y with autonomy, plus a further jump in 2026 from the Cybercab launch. In late October, Tesla guided to plans for vehicle delivery growth of 20% to 30% for 2025.

After delivering 463K vehicles in Q3, the EV company has maintained a pace of ~1.8 million annual vehicles. To reach the 20% to 30% goal, Tesla would need to deliver 2.2 and 2.4 million EVs in 2025.

Source: Tesal Q3'24 presentation

Overall, Tesla has produced over 7 million vehicles. The company has plans to produce upwards of 2 million Cybercabs in 2026, assuming regulatory approvals.

Approving Self-Driving Regulations

The other not so surprising news was the Trump Administration pushing towards easing federal regulations on self-driving cars. Back on the Q3 '24 earnings call, management discussed the need for federal regulations as follows:

Lars Moravy

I mean, I think it's important to reiterate this. Like, homogeneity or certifying a vehicle at the federal level in the U.S. is done by meeting FMVSS regulations. All our vehicles today that are produced that are autonomous capable meet all those regulations, cybertruck need those regulations. And so the deployment of the vehicle to the road is not a limitation.

What is a limitation is what you said at the state level where they control autonomous vehicle deployment. Some states are relatively easy as you mentioned for Texas. Yeah. And so other ones have in place like California that may take a little longer. Other ones haven't set up anything yet, and so we will work through those state by state.

Elon Musk

I do think we should have a federal, I agree. Like, autonomous vehicles should be approved. They just should be -- it should be possible to.

Lars Moravy

Congress, if you're listening, let's say the federal AV --

Elon Musk

There should -- there should be a federal approval process for autonomous vehicles. I mean, that's how the FMVSS is worked. Federal Motor Vehicle. The FMBSS is federal.

The news isn't really surprising considering Musk is a part of the Trump team. In addition, passengers should want the Department of Transportation to develop modern rules to address autonomous vehicles, not just for robotaxis from Tesla.

The issue for Tesla is that any regulations will allow the leader in robotaxis to vastly expand beyond current limits in a few major cities. Waymo, owned by Google (GOOG), just entered Los Angeles and is working towards operations in Austin and Atlanta. Investors need to remember that Tesla doesn't have an approved robotaxi service, while Waymo now operates in 4 cities in 3 different states, with plans to enter Georgia next year.

Source: Waymo

Waymo has regularly discussed the issues with different municipalities wanting to regulate AVs, including Los Angeles County, wanting more over site of operations. Due in part to technology limitations, but also regulations, the robotaxi service only offers service in controlled areas of these major cities without highway access so far.

Tesla definitely benefits the most from having federal regulations, which would potentially allow the current 7 million customers to become robotaxis at the update of FSD software. In addition, the company intends to have the platform ready to produce a new Cybercab with 2 million vehicles annually.

Remember, Tesla only sells 1.8 million units now. The 2 million Cybercab units at $35K (assuming the sub-$30K price includes the EV tax credit) amounts to $70 billion in annual revenues.

As previous research discussed, Tesla has robotaxi plans to quickly generate more revenue via an internally owned robotaxi. At nearly 1 million miles per vehicle over the lifetime, the robotaxis would earn $1 million in lifetime revenue at $1/mile and the revenues would still hit $500K at $0.50/mile. Either way, Tesla could effectively generate as much revenue in the 1st year a Cybercab operates as the company would generate from selling the EV.

The issue is that Congress doesn't move very fast, and regulations would likely take years. Under the makeshift regulations at state and municipality levels, Tesla has no real advantage.

The EV company would first have to obtain certification, and Tesla freely admits California will be a problem for 2025. Second, Tesla has to produce vehicles and likely place them into service on an owned basis with limited vehicles in the defined areas of approval.

Either way, the stock has jumped from below $215 towards the end of October to nearly $345 now. Tesla has a $1 trillion market cap and trades at over 100x 2025 EPS targets, a forward P/E multiple where the stock historically meets resistance.

Data by YCharts

Deepwater Asset Management sees sales growth falling below the current analyst estimates, up at 16% for 2025, due to the EV tax credit removal. Investors should let Tesla pullback from the recent hype, with self-driving regulations unlikely to change rapidly and numerous questions on whether Tesla has the technology to even obtain regulatory approval in the upcoming years.

Takeaway

The key investor takeaway is that investors are now buying into a lot of hype following the elections, some of which isn't necessarily bullish for the stock. Tesla actually losses a lot of the robotaxi benefits the longer the company doesn't have approved technology and actual services like Waymo establish the market with a quick Federal approval of AVs.

Investors should allow the recent hype to disappear, where Tesla will fall to more attractive levels, to speculate on the robotaxi future at more attractive risk/reward levels.

","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; (NASDAQ:TSLA) has soared in the last couple of weeks as CEO Elon Musk aligned with President-elect Donald Trump. The electric vehicle, or EV, company is moving towards a robotaxi business and is apparently working with the Trump Administration on a couple of policies not guaranteed to benefit the company. My investment thesis is now Bearish on the stock, especially after the post-election hype rally of over $100 now.Source: FinvizEliminating EV CreditsTrump’s transition team may plan to end the $7,500 EV tax credit for consumers, in a move Musk has apparently signalled as ok. Tesla obtains over 60%x of automotive sales from outside the U.S., so the impact would be smaller than feared. The logic that Tesla can more easily fend off competition in the EV space isn't as logical here. Without the $7,500 credit, traditional internal combustion, or ICE, vehicles would become more attractive and the incentives wouldn't exist for the U.S. consumer to transition to EVs.Tesla is pushing full speed ahead into robotaxis costing $30K with a massive opportunity to get ahead of the market by obtaining the $7,500 EV tax credit on those vehicles. Either way, the loss of the EV credit would appear to hurt Tesla, as much as competitors in the robotaxi race as competitors like Rivian (RIVN).On the Q3 '24 earnings call, Musk even hinted at the Cybercab needed the EV tax incentive to compete, as follows:Yeah. It'll be with incentive sub-30k, which is kind of a key threshold. The EV company was already expected to generate substantial growth in 2025 from production growth via higher sales of the Model 3/Y with autonomy, plus a further jump in 2026 from the Cybercab launch. In late October, Tesla guided to plans for vehicle delivery growth of 20% to 30% for 2025.After delivering 463K vehicles in Q3, the EV company has maintained a pace of ~1.8 million annual vehicles. To reach the 20% to 30% goal, Tesla would need to deliver 2.2 and 2.4 million EVs in 2025.Source: Tesal Q3'24 presentationOverall, Tesla has produced over 7 million vehicles. The company has plans to produce upwards of 2 million Cybercabs in 2026, assuming regulatory approvals.Approving Self-Driving RegulationsThe other not so surprising news was the Trump Administration pushing towards easing federal regulations on self-driving cars. Back on the Q3 '24 earnings call, management discussed the need for federal regulations as follows:Lars MoravyI mean, I think it's important to reiterate this. Other ones haven't set up anything yet, and so we will work through those state by state.Elon MuskI do think we should have a federal, I agree. Like, autonomous vehicles should be approved. They just should be -- it should be possible to.Lars MoravyCongress, if you're listening, let's say the federal AV --Elon MuskThere should -- there should be a federal approval process for autonomous vehicles. Investors need to remember that Tesla doesn't have an approved robotaxi service, while Waymo now operates in 4 cities in 3 different states, with plans to enter Georgia next year.Source: WaymoWaymo has regularly discussed the issues with different municipalities wanting to regulate AVs, including Los Angeles County, wanting more over site of operations. Due in part to technology limitations, but also regulations, the robotaxi service only offers service in controlled areas of these major cities without highway access so far.Tesla definitely benefits the most from having federal regulations, which would potentially allow the current 7 million customers to become robotaxis at the update of FSD software. In addition, the company intends to have the platform ready to produce a new Cybercab with 2 million vehicles annually.Remember, Tesla only sells 1.8 million units now. Either way, Tesla could effectively generate as much revenue in the 1st year a Cybercab operates as the company would generate from selling the EV.The issue is that Congress doesn't move very fast, and regulations would likely take years. Under the makeshift regulations at state and municipality levels, Tesla has no real advantage. The EV company would first have to obtain certification, and Tesla freely admits California will be a problem for 2025. Second, Tesla has to produce vehicles and likely place them into service on an owned basis with limited vehicles in the defined areas of approval.Either way, the stock has jumped from below $215 towards the end of October to nearly $345 now. Tesla has a $1 trillion market cap and trades at over 100x 2025 EPS targets, a forward P/E multiple where the stock historically meets resistance.Data by YChartsDeepwater Asset Management sees sales growth falling below the current analyst estimates, up at 16% for 2025, due to the EV tax credit removal. Investors should let Tesla pullback from the recent hype, with self-driving regulations unlikely to change rapidly and numerous questions on whether Tesla has the technology to even obtain regulatory approval in the upcoming years.TakeawayThe key investor takeaway is that investors are now buying into a lot of hype following the elections, some of which isn't necessarily bullish for the stock. Tesla actually losses a lot of the robotaxi benefits the longer the company doesn't have approved technology and actual services like Waymo establish the market with a quick Federal approval of AVs.Investors should allow the recent hype to disappear, where Tesla will fall to more attractive levels, to speculate on the robotaxi future at more attractive risk/reward levels.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":7,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":368890061254840,"gmtCreate":1731098639514,"gmtModify":1731098643338,"author":{"id":"3557891754083819","authorId":"3557891754083819","name":"WolfMyFren","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9c997f2483bc522379c036e25e760fe0","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557891754083819","authorIdStr":"3557891754083819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I simply loves tesla, even though someone is simply jealous and if im not wrong a lefist. Is the sky starting to fall?\nIt sure","content":"
The S&P 500 is on pace for its worst three-day drop since July. Is the sky starting to fall?
\n
It sure does look ugly out there. S&P 500 futures have declined 0.6% Thursday morning, indicating an opening loss of around 28 points, or 0.6%, for the index. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), meanwhile, could be headed for a 237 point, or 0.7%, decline, per futures markets.
\n
If the losses hold, it would be the S&P 500’s third consecutive drop, the index’s longest losing streak since the three-day losing streak that ended on July 19. At this pace, the index would shed around 2.4% over a three-day period, also the worst since that July tumble.
\n
If you want reasons for the decline, well, there are plenty. Taper fears are at the top of the list, despite the fact that the Fed has been about as transparent about the fact that it will end its bond-buying program soon as it’s possible to be. (Can a big article in The Wall Street Journal with the headline “Fed Officials Weigh Ending Asset Purchases by Mid-2022” be any more obvious?)
\n
But history shows that markets react to changes in monetary policy—even when they know the change is coming, says Bleakley Advisory Group’s Peter Boockvar. “[We] have to be reminded of how stocks responded to EVERY SINGLE change in Fed policy towards tightening since 2010,” he writes. “Outside of the August 2015 selloff related to the Chinese yuan modest devaluation and the Covid induced crash, every notable correction in stocks surrounded a change Fed policy toward tightening.”
\n
Covid concerns continue to rise, whether its cases forcing shutdowns in New Zealand or reports that the vaccines aren’t as effective against the Delta variant as originally thought. Again, none of this is terribly new, but then again, the market chooses when it wants to react, not folks with a keyboard.
\n
If you listen to the thrum of the Street, though, you get the sense that the market has been due for a correction. There’s some truth to that. The S&P 500 has been more than 8% above its 200-day moving average for 198 days, the longest in 40 years and among the five longest stretches in history. These streaks are usually followed by a couple of months of choppy trading, with a median gain of just 0.3% over the following two months. “By the time it reached the current length, other super-strong trends saw buyers take a break,” writes Sundial Capital Research’s Jason Goepfert.
\n
Of course, it might just be August, says DataTrek’s Nicholas Colas. He notes that the S&P 500 typically has one 1% up or down move every week since 1957, but has had just three during the first seven weeks of the third quarter. August, because of its low volume and history of higher volatility would be a good time to catch up.
\n
That’s especially true with stocks starting to move together again. “[As] much as we like U.S. equities, we have to respect both the tape (suddenly higher correlations) and seasonality (late August volatility),” Colas writes. “Both tell us to be cautious over the next 2-3 weeks.”
\n
So buckle up. Sales slowed for the trio of Chinese EV startups vs. March's pace, asTesla(TSLA) ramps up competition.

Nio stock reversed slightly Monday, while Xpeng and Li Auto also fell.

Year over year, Nio's April sales jumped 125% to 5,147 electric vehicles. That included 1,523 seven-seater ES8 SUVs, 3,163 five-seater ES6 SUVs, and 2,416 EC6 electric crossovers.

Sales growth slowed from the 373% pace that Nio saw in March.

But Nio's April EV sales defied the chip shortage that forced the emerging Tesla of China to temporarily suspend factory production for five days starting March 29.

Year over year, Xpeng Motors saw April sales surge 285% to 5,147 electric vehicles. That included 2,995 P7 sedans and 2,152 G3 compact SUVs.

However, growth slowed from March's 384% pace.

Year over year, Li Auto's April sales increased 111% to 5,539 hybrid-electric SUVs. Sales growth slowed from March's 239% pace.

Li Auto reached a milestone 500,000th delivery faster than any of its peers, the Chinese EV startup said in a statement.

Month to month, Nio sales fell 2.1%. Nio last week indicated that Q2 deliveries would roughly flat vs. Q1 amid chip shortages. Xpeng sales rose 1% vs. March. Li Auto sales climbed 13% vs. the prior month.

Nio Stock, Xpeng Stock

Shares of Nio fell 0.75% to 39.54 on thestock market Monday after hitting 41.45 intraday. Nio stock has been meeting resistance at the 50-day line after bouncing off the 200-day line in mid-April. Xpeng stock fell 3% and hasn't traded above the 50-day line since February. Li Auto lost 1.5%.

All three EV stocks remain in a severe bear market on a multitude of factors, including rising competition in China. Tesla, which dominates the Chinese market for luxury EVs, began selling a locally made Model Y SUV this year.

Tesla stock slumped 3.5% amid a report that the key Berlin plant won't start production until 2022. Shares closed just above their declining 50-day line. TSLA stock rebounded above the 50-day line on Friday, after tumbling more than 8% in the three days after the EV maker's earnings.

China EV Competition Heats Up

After booming sales in 2020, Nio and Xpeng face tougher competition ahead. Tesla officially launched the new made-in-Shanghai Model Y crossover Jan. 1, a rival to Nio's EC6 and Xpeng's G7, and is ramping up sales. What’s Behind Its Worst Slump Since July.","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1169769842","media":"Barron's","summary":"The S&P 500 is on pace for its worst three-day drop since July.
Whatever the reason, it’s chop time for U.S. stock markets.
","source":"lsy1610680873436","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Stock Market Is Dropping Again. Is the sky starting to fall?\nIt sure does look ugly out there. S&P 500 futures have declined 0.6% Thursday morning, indicating an opening loss of around 28 points, or 0.6%, for the index. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), meanwhile, could be headed for a 237 point, or 0.7%, decline, per futures markets.\nIf the losses hold, it would be the S&P 500’s third consecutive drop, the index’s longest losing streak since the three-day losing streak that ended on July 19. At this pace, the index would shed around 2.4% over a three-day period, also the worst since that July tumble.\nIf you want reasons for the decline, well, there are plenty. Taper fears are at the top of the list, despite the fact that the Fed has been about as transparent about the fact that it will end its bond-buying program soon as it’s possible to be. (Can a big article in The Wall Street Journal with the headline “Fed Officials Weigh Ending Asset Purchases by Mid-2022” be any more obvious?)\nBut history shows that markets react to changes in monetary policy—even when they know the change is coming, says Bleakley Advisory Group’s Peter Boockvar. “[We] have to be reminded of how stocks responded to EVERY SINGLE change in Fed policy towards tightening since 2010,” he writes. “Outside of the August 2015 selloff related to the Chinese yuan modest devaluation and the Covid induced crash, every notable correction in stocks surrounded a change Fed policy toward tightening.”\nCovid concerns continue to rise, whether its cases forcing shutdowns in New Zealand or reports that the vaccines aren’t as effective against the Delta variant as originally thought. Again, none of this is terribly new, but then again, the market chooses when it wants to react, not folks with a keyboard.\nIf you listen to the thrum of the Street, though, you get the sense that the market has been due for a correction. There’s some truth to that. The S&P 500 has been more than 8% above its 200-day moving average for 198 days, the longest in 40 years and among the five longest stretches in history. These streaks are usually followed by a couple of months of choppy trading, with a median gain of just 0.3% over the following two months. “By the time it reached the current length, other super-strong trends saw buyers take a break,” writes Sundial Capital Research’s Jason Goepfert.\nOf course, it might just be August, says DataTrek’s Nicholas Colas. He notes that the S&P 500 typically has one 1% up or down move every week since 1957, but has had just three during the first seven weeks of the third quarter. August, because of its low volume and history of higher volatility would be a good time to catch up.\nThat’s especially true with stocks starting to move together again. “[As] much as we like U.S. equities, we have to respect both the tape (suddenly higher correlations) and seasonality (late August volatility),” Colas writes. “Both tell us to be cautious over the next 2-3 weeks.”\nSo buckle up. Whatever the reason, it’s chop time for U.S. stock markets.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":393,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9093585622,"gmtCreate":1643673929778,"gmtModify":1676533841724,"author":{"id":"3557891754083819","authorId":"3557891754083819","name":"WolfMyFren","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9c997f2483bc522379c036e25e760fe0","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557891754083819","authorIdStr":"3557891754083819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice, to the moon.

(NASDAQ:TSLA) has soared in the last couple of weeks as CEO Elon Musk aligned with President-elect Donald Trump. The 2 million Cybercab units at $35K (assuming the sub-$30K price includes the EV tax credit) amounts to $70 billion in annual revenues. As previous research discussed, Tesla has robotaxi plans to quickly generate more revenue via an internally owned robotaxi.
