Thursday after the Federal Reserve signaled it could start tapering its massive stimulus earlier than expected, piling pressure on a sector that is seen as vulnerable to higher interest rates.
\n
At 8:05 a.m. ET, Dow E-minis were down 61 points, or 0.18%, S&P 500 E-minis were down 9.5 points, or 0.23% and Nasdaq 100 E-minis fell 52.75 points, or 0.38%.
\n<p said progress toward the Fed's dual employment and inflation goals were happening somewhat faster than expected. Central bankers raised their GDP expectations for this year to 7% from 6.5% previously.
\n
Their unemployment rate estimate remained unchanged at 4.5%. In further evidence that the resumption of business activity has helped get people back to work, the government's latest initial jobless claims total is expected to drop to a new pandemic low of 360,000 for last week.
\n
The report is issued at 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday. Two weeks ago, new filings for unemployment benefits went below 400,000 for the first time since March 2020.
\n
Stocks making the biggest moves in the premarket:
\n
CureVac(CVAC) – CureVac shares plunged 46.2% in the premarket after the German drugmaker reported disappointing results from a study of its experimental Covid-19 vaccine. The treatment was 47% effective in a clinical trial, compared to more than 90% for other mRNA-based vaccines fromModerna(MRNA) andPfizer(PFE).
\n
Novavax(NVAX),BioNTech(BNTX) – On the heels of the CureVac news, Novavax added 3.4% in the premarket while BioNTech rose 2.6%. BioNTech's Covid vaccine – developed in partnership with Pfizer – is already approved for use in the US, while Novavax reported 90% efficacy for its vaccine in a recent study.
\n
The Honest Company(HNST) – The household products maker reported a wider-than-expected loss in its first quarter as a public company, although revenue was better than analysts had anticipated. Sales got a boost from pandemic-induced demand for sanitizing products. The stock tumbled 8.3% in premarket trading.
\n
Tenet Healthcare(THC) – The hospital operator's shares jumped 3.5% in the premarket, after it announced the sale of five hospitals and associated physician practices in Florida to Steward Health Care for about $1.1 billion.
\n
Lennar(LEN) – Lennar earned $2.65 per share for its latest quarter, beating the $2.36 a share consensus estimate. Revenue topped forecasts as well. The home builder is dealing with higher input costs and a labor shortage, but the lack of homes for sale in the U.S. helped push prices higher and expand Lennar's profit margins significantly over a year earlier.
\n
Dell Technologies(DELL) – Dell was chosen byDish Network(DISH) to build key parts of the 5G network the satellite TV operator is building in the United States. Dish will launch 5G service in Las Vegas later this year and plans to cover 70% of the U.S. with its network by mid-2023.
\n
Fisker(FSR) – Fisker shares added 2.8% in the premarket after the electric vehicle maker signed a long-term manufacturing agreement withMagna International(MGA). Magna will build the Fisker Ocean electric SUV starting in November 2022.
\n
Aon(AON),Willis Towers Watson(WLTW) – The U.S. Justice Department sued to block insurance company Aon's deal to buy consulting firm Willis Towers Watson for $35 billion. The department said the combinationcould eliminate competitionin several different markets. Aon and Willis Towers said the move showed a lack of understanding of their businesses, clients and the markets in which they operate.
\n
Akamai Technologies(AKAM) – A variety of financial institutions, governments and airlines experienced brief website outages early Thursday. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite edged up 0.2%.\nLarge tech shares like Tesla and Nvidia were slightly lower, while shares of economic reopening plays Royal Caribbean and Carnival gained 1% each.\nStocks pulled back from record levels duringTuesday’s trading session, with the S&P 500 closing 0.2% lower after hitting an all-time intraday high earlier in the day. The Dow slid nearly 100 points and the Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.7% amid weakness in shares of Big Tech.\nThe Federal Reserve kicked off its two-day meeting on Tuesday. The central bank is not expected to make any policy moves, but it could signal that it’s beginning to think abouteasing its bond-buying policy. The Fed will also release new forecasts on Wednesday, which could indicate a possible first rate hike penciled in for 2023. Previously, Fed officials hadn’t come to a consensus for a rate hike through 2023.\nThe Fed’s statement and forecasts will come out at 2 p.m. ET followed by a press conference by Chairman Jerome Powell 30 minutes later.\nThe meeting comes as inflation heats up, with producer prices rising at their fastest annual rate in nearly 11 years duringMay, a report on Tuesday showed. This has prompted some, including Paul Tudor Jones, to call for the central bank to re-think its easy monetary policy.\n\"I still think equities are going higher,\" BlackRock global bond chief Rick Rieder said on CNBC's \"Squawk Box\" on Wednesday. \"If we don't hear anything different, then I worry a little bit about risk the system creates — you can create asset bubbles you can create leverage. We've seen markets that are a little bit concerning with literally zero spread to them for risk assets.\"\nThe central bank has been buying $120 billion worth of bonds each month as the economy continues to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.\n\"The drama this week will be whether the Fed sits tight or admits that inflation is rising and that the Fed needs to tighten,\" said Brad McMillan, CIO at Commonwealth Financial Network. \"Since the Fed has a dual mandate—unemployment and inflation—that suggests it should indeed keep its focus on unemployment, rather than inflation.\"\nMinutes from the central bank's last meeting showed that some Fed officials said it could be appropriate to start discussing adjustments to the bond-buying program should the economy continue to recover. Economists predict that while some of these discussions could begin, concrete details will not be revealed until later this year.\nOn Wednesday,China said it will release industrial metalsincluding copper, aluminum and zinc from its national reserves to curb commodity prices. Business) - Tesla, the hottest stock in the market for more than a year, has sunk into","content":"
New York (CNN Business) - Tesla, the hottest stock in the market for more than a year, has sunk into bear market territory.
\n
Shares of Tesla fell 6% Tuesday after closing down 8.5% Monday, wiping out its gains for the year. The stock closed at a record just above $883 on January 26 and has tumbled since. It fell low as $619 Tuesday, the first time Tesla shares have fallen below $700 since December 31.
\n
The steep decline has taken Tesla shares below their level when the company entered the S&P 500 on December 21. It also knocked CEO Elon Musk into the No. 2 position in the richest person on the planet list, behind Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The two have been swapping positions repeatedly this year.
\n
Tesla's stock is selling off for several reasons:
\n
Bitcoin
\n
Tesla announced earlier this month that it had invested $1.5 billion in bitcoin. That helped feed the recent rally in bitcoin and by some estimates earned Tesla a quick $1 billion profit — more than it has ever made from selling cars in a single year.
\n
But on Saturday, in response to a critic of Tesla's bitcoin investment, Musk tweeted that the prices of both bitcoin and another cryptocurrency called Ether \"do seem high.\" That helped to send the price of bitcoin down 9.3% in trading Monday, which may have helped to drag down Tesla shares.
\n
\"Bitcoin is the smart move at the right time for Tesla in our opinion, but on the downside its playing with firecrackers and risks and volatility are added to the Tesla story,\" said Daniel Ives, tech analyst for Wedbush Securities, who remains bullish on Tesla shares.
\n
Model Y pricing
\n
Last Thursday, Tesla cut the price of the cheapest version of its Model Y and its best-selling Model 3 cars by $2,000 each. That brought the price for the \"standard range\" Model Y, one that can travel 244 miles on a charge, to $38,490 -- and the standard range Model 3 to $34,590.
\n
But over the weekend, the cheapest \"standard range\" version of the Model Y disappeared from Tesla's sales site, leaving only the more expensive long-range and performance versions of the SUV. Tesla did not explain its decision.
\n
\"We see the plausible reasons as either: the mix was skewed too much to the cheaper variant, and thus it was going to kill their margins, or more likely there just wasn't much demand for the lower variant,\" said Gordon Johnson of GLJ Research, one of the more bearish critics on Tesla shares. He said the recent price cuts and other price cuts show that Tesla vehicles do not have the demand that its fans claim.
\n
\"Tesla can't keep its current factories running at capacity without ... price cuts,\" said Johnson in note on Monday.
\n
Increased competition
\n
Established automakers have recently set ambitious targets for their own EV sales.
\n
General Motors rolled out an SUV version of its Chevrolet Bolt a week ago, priced well below the Model Y, and announced it intends to sell only emissions-free cars after 2035.Ford set an even more ambitious EV target for its European sales, saying all of the car models it sells there will be EVs by 2030.
\n
Apple is also considering partnering with an automaker toget into the car business, according to several news reports.
\n
Those efforts are making some Tesla investors nervous, said Ives, although he believes there will be enough of a shift to EVs for multiple winners among global automakers.
\n
Investors got ahead of themselves
\n
Tesla shares peaked one day before a disappointing earnings report on January 27 that fell short of forecasts from Wall Street analysts.
\n
The earnings showed that the money Tesla made from the sale of regulatory credits to other automakers outpaced its overall net income. Critics, like Johnson, said it's proof Tesla isn't able to make money building and selling cars (although by some other profit measures Tesla is profitable).
\n
During the earnings conference call on January 27, Musk also spoke about a shortage of batteries needed to power electric vehicles. He said that even with Tesla's own in-house supply of batteries and its planned expansion of battery production, the company is scrambling to find the batteries it wants to build more vehicles.
\n
\"The fundamental limit on electric vehicles right now, in general, is total availability of [battery] cells,\" he said. For example, Musk said Tesla would have already started producing a semi-tractor if it had the batteries available to do so.
\n
Shares are still way up
\n
Tesla shares rose a market-leading 743% in 2020, as investors embraced the idea that the future of the auto industry would be electric. Tesla remains by far the most valuable automaker in the world, with a market value well above that of the eight largest automakers combined.
\n
Even with the recent decline. Tesla shares are up about 1,300% since October 2019, when it reported a third-quarter profit that surprised investors, sending shares on a tear.
\n
Some investors believe Tesla's stock flew too high. Yet many analysts believe Tesla will bounce back. Ives has a 12-month target price of $950.
\n
Even so, he has a warning: \"It's 'buckle up the seat belt time' again for Tesla's stock with more volatility on the horizon,\" Ives said.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
4 reasons Tesla's stock is tumbling
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n4 reasons Tesla's stock is tumbling\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-02-24 10:29 GMT+8 CNN Business\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
New York (CNN Business) - Tesla, the hottest stock in the market for more than a year, has sunk into bear market territory.\nShares of Tesla fell 6% Tuesday after closing down 8.5% Monday, wiping out ...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"特斯拉"},"source_url":"https://edition.cnn.com/2021/02/23/investing/tesla-shares-bear-market/index.html","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1106446066","content_text":"New York (CNN Business) - Tesla, the hottest stock in the market for more than a year, has sunk into bear market territory.\nShares of Tesla fell 6% Tuesday after closing down 8.5% Monday, wiping out its gains for the year. He said the recent price cuts and other price cuts show that Tesla vehicles do not have the demand that its fans claim.\n\"Tesla can't keep its current factories running at capacity without ... price cuts,\" said Johnson in note on Monday.\nIncreased competition\nEstablished automakers have recently set ambitious targets for their own EV sales.\nGeneral Motors rolled out an SUV version of its Chevrolet Bolt a week ago, priced well below the Model Y, and announced it intends to sell only emissions-free cars after 2035.Ford set an even more ambitious EV target for its European sales, saying all of the car models it sells there will be EVs by 2030.\nApple is also considering partnering with an automaker toget into the car business, according to several news reports.\nThose efforts are making some Tesla investors nervous, said Ives, although he believes there will be enough of a shift to EVs for multiple winners among global automakers.\nInvestors got ahead of themselves\nTesla shares peaked one day before a disappointing earnings report on January 27 that fell short of forecasts from Wall Street analysts.\nThe earnings showed that the money Tesla made from the sale of regulatory credits to other automakers outpaced its overall net income. Critics, like Johnson, said it's proof Tesla isn't able to make money building and selling cars (although by some other profit measures Tesla is profitable).\nDuring the earnings conference call on January 27, Musk also spoke about a shortage of batteries needed to power electric vehicles. He said that even with Tesla's own in-house supply of batteries and its planned expansion of battery production, the company is scrambling to find the batteries it wants to build more vehicles.\n\"The fundamental limit on electric vehicles right now, in general, is total availability of [battery] cells,\" he said. For example, Musk said Tesla would have already started producing a semi-tractor if it had the batteries available to do so.\nShares are still way up\nTesla shares rose a market-leading 743% in 2020, as investors embraced the idea that the future of the auto industry would be electric. Tesla remains by far the most valuable automaker in the world, with a market value well above that of the eight largest automakers combined.\nEven with the recent decline. Tesla shares are up about 1,300% since October 2019, when it reported a third-quarter profit that surprised investors, sending shares on a tear.\nSome investors believe Tesla's stock flew too high. Yet many analysts believe Tesla will bounce back. Ives has a 12-month target price of $950.\nEven so, he has a warning: \"It's 'buckle up the seat belt time' again for Tesla's stock with more volatility on the horizon,\" Ives said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":890,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":529973091661376,"gmtCreate":1770407358494,"gmtModify":1770407361024,"author":{"id":"3560411692170753","authorId":"3560411692170753","name":"ChrisAng","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3560411692170753","authorIdStr":"3560411692170753"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"<a The pandemic was intensifying, gridlock paralyzed Washington and millions of families were about to lose crucial benefits.
\n
Fast forward two months, and the economy is still struggling-- but confidence in the recovery is growing, rapidly.
\n
Economists are swiftly upgrading their GDP and unemployment forecasts and pulling forward the date when the Federal Reserve will be able to lift rock-bottom interest rates. Goldman Sachs is predicting the US economy will grow at the fastest clip in more than three decades.
\n
The renewed optimism is being driven by two major factors: the health crisis is easing and Uncle Sam is coming to the rescue with staggering amounts of aid-- hundreds of billions more than seemed to be in the cards just months ago.
\n
After supplying $4 trillion of relief last year, Washington is expected to pump in another $2 trillion of deficit-financed support in 2021, according to Moody's Analytics. That represents more than a quarter of annual US GDP.
\n
\"That is a lot of economic juice,\" Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, told CNN Business.
\n
The turning point happened last month when Democrats took narrow control of the US Senate by sweeping the runoff races in Georgia. That opened a path for President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which features $1,400 stimulus checks, enhanced unemployment benefits and a $350 billion lifeline to state and local governments.
\n
'Summer mini-boom'
\n
Before the Georgia elections, Zandi didn't think the US economy would return to full employment (a strong labor market with 4% unemployment) until the spring or summer of 2023. Now, he expects that achievement to happen next spring, echoing a forecast by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
\n
\"Super-charged fiscal policy\" means the argument for the US economy growing faster than its peers \"seems to get stronger day-by-day,\" economists at Bank of America wrote in a recent report to clients.
\n
Oxford Economics chief US economist Gregory Daco is calling for a \"summer mini-boom\" in the United States and 5.9% GDP growth in 2021.
\n
Likewise, Jefferies economists say \"explosive income growth (courtesy of fiscal stimulus) is likely to propel US GDP 6.4% higher this year and nearly 5% next year.\"
\n
\"If anything, our forecast might be too conservative,\" Jefferies told clients in a recent note, pointing out that its view incorporates just $1 trillion of the Biden plan.
\n
Indeed, Goldman Sachs upgraded its 2021 GDP forecast to 6.8% earlier this week because the Wall Street bank now assumes additional fiscal relief of $1.5 trillion, up from $1.1 trillion previously. If Goldman's prediction comes true, it would be the fastest annual GDP growth for the United States since 1989,according to the St. Louis Fed.
\n
The rosy GDP forecasts are well above what the Federal Reserve is calling for. In December, the Fed expected 2021 GDP growth of just 4.2% and said unemployment wouldn't slip below 4% until 2023.
\n
Double-dip recession averted
\n
The Fed tends to be conservative with its economic forecasts. And, crucially, the Fed forecast was released at a time when political dysfunction in DC was casting a shadow over the US economy.
\n
For months, Republicans and Democrats tried and failed to reach a deal on extending crucial unemployment and eviction benefits scheduled to lapse and providing more forgivable loans to small businesses. And then when a deal was finally reached, former President Donald Trump threatened to blow it up.
\n
At the last minute, Trump signed the $900 billion relief package into law, averting economic disaster.
\n
\"Without that, we would be in a double dip recession,\" said Zandi, the Moody's economist.
\n
Slammed by the pandemic, the US economy limped to the end of 2020 and started this year slowly. In December, employers cut jobs in for the first time since the spring. And the United States added just 49,000 jobs in January.
\n
Jobless claims remain alarmingly high. Another 793,000 Americans filed for first time unemployment benefits last week alone. For context, that is above the worst levels of the Great Recession.
\n
Vaccines to the rescue
\n
But there are glimmers of hope on the pandemic. Although Covid deaths remain unthinkably high, hospitalizations and cases have retreated.
\n
Critically, the rollout of coronavirus vaccines is accelerating. Out of a total of 66 million vaccines distributed, about 70% have been administered, according to Morgan Stanley.
\n
And Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, told NBC News Thursday that the United States may be able to vaccinate most Americans by the middle or end of summer.
\n
All of this has allowed states including California, New York and New Jersey to relax health restrictions crushing restaurants and other small businesses.
\n
That's not to say the pandemic is over. In fact, one risk is that new Covid-19 variants force US states and cities to once again tighten health restrictions.
\n
Low-wage workers are still hurting badly
\n
Against this backdrop, many economists are urging Washington to push ahead with plans for aggressive fiscal stimulus.
\n
\"Foot flat on the accelerator, please,\" Zandi, the Moody's economist said. \"Policymaking 101 says err on the side of doing too much, rather than too little.\"
\n
Doing too little risks worsening America's inequality problem. That's because this recession, more than prior ones, disproportionately hurt low-income workers in hard-hit sectors such as restaurants, childcare and hospitality.
\n
Employment levels of low-wage workers (those making less than $27,000 per year) is still down more than 20%, according to the Opportunity Insights Economic tracker. The pandemic was intensifying, gridlock paralyzed Washington and millions of families were about to lose crucial benefits.\nFast forward two months, and the economy is still struggling-- but confidence in the recovery is growing, rapidly.\nEconomists are swiftly upgrading their GDP and unemployment forecasts and pulling forward the date when the Federal Reserve will be able to lift rock-bottom interest rates. Goldman Sachs is predicting the US economy will grow at the fastest clip in more than three decades.\nThe renewed optimism is being driven by two major factors: the health crisis is easing and Uncle Sam is coming to the rescue with staggering amounts of aid-- hundreds of billions more than seemed to be in the cards just months ago.\nAfter supplying $4 trillion of relief last year, Washington is expected to pump in another $2 trillion of deficit-financed support in 2021, according to Moody's Analytics. That represents more than a quarter of annual US GDP.\n\"That is a lot of economic juice,\" Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, told CNN Business.\nThe turning point happened last month when Democrats took narrow control of the US Senate by sweeping the runoff races in Georgia. That opened a path for President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which features $1,400 stimulus checks, enhanced unemployment benefits and a $350 billion lifeline to state and local governments.\n'Summer mini-boom'\nBefore the Georgia elections, Zandi didn't think the US economy would return to full employment (a strong labor market with 4% unemployment) until the spring or summer of 2023. Now, he expects that achievement to happen next spring, echoing a forecast by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.\n\"Super-charged fiscal policy\" means the argument for the US economy growing faster than its peers \"seems to get stronger day-by-day,\" economists at Bank of America wrote in a recent report to clients.\nOxford Economics chief US economist Gregory Daco is calling for a \"summer mini-boom\" in the United States and 5.9% GDP growth in 2021.\nLikewise, Jefferies economists say \"explosive income growth (courtesy of fiscal stimulus) is likely to propel US GDP 6.4% higher this year and nearly 5% next year.\"\n\"If anything, our forecast might be too conservative,\" Jefferies told clients in a recent note, pointing out that its view incorporates just $1 trillion of the Biden plan.\nIndeed, Goldman Sachs upgraded its 2021 GDP forecast to 6.8% earlier this week because the Wall Street bank now assumes additional fiscal relief of $1.5 trillion, up from $1.1 trillion previously. If Goldman's prediction comes true, it would be the fastest annual GDP growth for the United States since 1989,according to the St. Louis Fed.\nThe rosy GDP forecasts are well above what the Federal Reserve is calling for. In December, the Fed expected 2021 GDP growth of just 4.2% and said unemployment wouldn't slip below 4% until 2023.\nDouble-dip recession averted\nThe Fed tends to be conservative with its economic forecasts. And, crucially, the Fed forecast was released at a time when political dysfunction in DC was casting a shadow over the US economy.\nFor months, Republicans and Democrats tried and failed to reach a deal on extending crucial unemployment and eviction benefits scheduled to lapse and providing more forgivable loans to small businesses. And then when a deal was finally reached, former President Donald Trump threatened to blow it up.\nAt the last minute, Trump signed the $900 billion relief package into law, averting economic disaster.\n\"Without that, we would be in a double dip recession,\" said Zandi, the Moody's economist.\nSlammed by the pandemic, the US economy limped to the end of 2020 and started this year slowly. In December, employers cut jobs in for the first time since the spring. And the United States added just 49,000 jobs in January.\nJobless claims remain alarmingly high. Another 793,000 Americans filed for first time unemployment benefits last week alone. For context, that is above the worst levels of the Great Recession.\nVaccines to the rescue\nBut there are glimmers of hope on the pandemic. Although Covid deaths remain unthinkably high, hospitalizations and cases have retreated.\nCritically, the rollout of coronavirus vaccines is accelerating. Out of a total of 66 million vaccines distributed, about 70% have been administered, according to Morgan Stanley.\nAnd Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, told NBC News Thursday that the United States may be able to vaccinate most Americans by the middle or end of summer.\nAll of this has allowed states including California, New York and New Jersey to relax health restrictions crushing restaurants and other small businesses.\nThat's not to say the pandemic is over. In fact, one risk is that new Covid-19 variants force US states and cities to once again tighten health restrictions.\nLow-wage workers are still hurting badly\nAgainst this backdrop, many economists are urging Washington to push ahead with plans for aggressive fiscal stimulus.\n\"Foot flat on the accelerator, please,\" Zandi, the Moody's economist said. \"Policymaking 101 says err on the side of doing too much, rather than too little.\"\nDoing too little risks worsening America's inequality problem. That's because this recession, more than prior ones, disproportionately hurt low-income workers in hard-hit sectors such as restaurants, childcare and hospitality.\nEmployment levels of low-wage workers (those making less than $27,000 per year) is still down more than 20%, according to the Opportunity Insights Economic tracker. By contrast, employment levels of those making more than $60,000 per year are above pre-crisis levels.\n\"Biden's team is unlikely to break out the champagne over reaching full employment if it isn't evident across income and racial groups,\" economists at Bank of America wrote in a report to clients.\nHowever, Danielle DiMartino Booth, a former Fed official who is now CEO of Quill Intelligence, worries the focus on providing income, instead of investing in infrastructure and reskilling workers, will make the country addicted to stimulus.\n\"The economy is going to turn into this dependent patient, always waiting for the next injection,\" Booth said.\n'Bring it on'\nSome economists, including former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, have warned there is a risk that Washington overheats the economy by injecting too much support.\n\"You could have quite the inflation scare in the next few months that will test the bond market and the Fed,\" Booth said.\nAnd that in turn would spook the red-hot stock market.\nFed watchers are moving up their timelines for when the central bank will be able to end its emergency policies.\nCiting \"signs of a firmer inflation outlook,\" Goldman Sachs now expects the Fed to start \"tapering\" its asset purchases in early 2022 and to raise interest rates in the first half of 2024.\nZandi isn't losing sleep over inflation, mostly because the United States is far from full employment.\n\"It's a vastly overstated worry,\" he said. \"Bring it on.
