Captive funds are usually described as private investments managed for a select group of people.\nIn the years since the 2008 financial crisis, investment banking revenues saw low growth as a result of regulatory headwinds leading to a reduction in capital. Now, the bank sees “most regulatory headwinds and litigation behind us,” and says the industry is positioned for “undiscounted growth.”\nHere are the bank’s top picks:\nWithin the global investment banking space, JPMorgan names its U.S. favorites asGoldman SachsandMorgan Stanley, with the former its top global investment bank pick.\n“We see GS as a contender given its agile culture, which allows it to move as a Fintech, and its strong IT platform to retain its strong market share growth momentum from Tier II players,” the bank’s analysts said in the research note.\nFor Europe, their winner is Barclays.\n“In Europe, Barclays is our preferred IB pick as we see it as a relative winner with its transaction bank providing an advantage along with its diversified IB revenue mix, allowing double-digit returns through the cycle — unlike all other European players,” the analysts wrote.\nSwiss lenderUBSis the next favorite on the list, despite the hit to its earnings earlier this year from thescandal involving Archegos Capital.\n“We see MS (Morgan Stanley) and UBS as Equity S&T (sales and trading) players” supported by their captive wealth management franchises\nIts next picks are French investment banks Societe Generale,BNP Paribas, Germany’sDeutsche Bankand Swiss lenderCredit Suisse.\nThe bank puts its long-term base case revenue assumptions at 5% per year. But it thinks these are “conservative,” given they don’t take into account things like market share gains, China opening up its capital markets, Europe’s securitization market slowly opening up, and the drive toward ESG (environmental, social and governance) changes introducing new innovations.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":214,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":163410557,"gmtCreate":1623890999079,"gmtModify":1703822588974,"author":{"id":"3561606993964516","authorId":"3561606993964516","name":"Waynelzc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/475689535949cfffcc7cf959337e68a5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561606993964516","authorIdStr":"3561606993964516"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comment","listText":"Comment","text":"Comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/163410557","repostId":"2144713861","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2144713861","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1623883569,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2144713861?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-17 06:46","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street closes lower as Fed officials project rate hikes for 2023","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2144713861","media":"Reuters","summary":"June 16 - The three main Wall Street indexes all closed down on Wednesday, as U.S. Federal Reserve officials unnerved investors with indications that the central bank could begin rising interest rates in 2023, a year earlier than expected.New projections saw a majority of 11 of 18 U.S. central bank officials pencil in at least two quarter-percentage-point rate increases for 2023. But it thinks these are “conservative,” given they don’t take into account things like market share gains, China opening up its capital markets, Europe’s securitization market slowly opening up, and the drive toward ESG (environmental, social and governance) changes introducing new innovations.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":214,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":127801628,"gmtCreate":1624841848064,"gmtModify":1703845849800,"author":{"id":"3561606993964516","authorId":"3561606993964516","name":"Waynelzc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/475689535949cfffcc7cf959337e68a5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561606993964516","authorIdStr":"3561606993964516"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comment like","listText":"Comment like","text":"Comment like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/127801628","repostId":"1133201828","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":230,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":182577095,"gmtCreate":1623593962917,"gmtModify":1704206746553,"author":{"id":"3561606993964516","authorId":"3561606993964516","name":"Waynelzc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/475689535949cfffcc7cf959337e68a5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561606993964516","authorIdStr":"3561606993964516"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comment","listText":"Comment","text":"Comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/182577095","repostId":"1185020128","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1185020128","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1623537503,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1185020128?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-13 06:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Meme Stock Soars 1,000% To Lead These Two Top Small Cap Stock Plays","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1185020128","media":"investors","summary":"GameStop may be the top holding in SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Value, but that's not the only reason the ","content":"
GameStop may be the top holding in SPDR S&P 600 Small Cap Value, but that's not the only reason the ETF is beating its growth-stock counterpart.
\n
The $4.2 billion value fund tracks the S&P SmallCap 600 Value Index (SLYV), composed of stocks with the strongest value traits based on book value to price ratio, earnings to price ratio, and sales to price ratio. That ma","content":"
The stock market’s best-performing stocks have been anything but the best-performing stocks. That may be about to change.
\n
Yes, that sounds confusing, but it makes quite a bit of sense. Over the long term, buying the stocks with the most“momentum”—for example, the best performers over the past 12 months—usually leads to more outperformance. Over the past 10 years, for instance, the iShares Edge MSCI USA Momentum Factor exchange-traded fund(ticker: MTUM) has gained 264%, easily beating the S&P 500’s168% rise over the same period. But sometimes momentum fails, and that’s what has happened recently. In 2021, the momentum ETF has gained just 6.5%, well behind the S&P 500’s 14% rise.
\n
But today’s momentum basket isn’t the same as it was just a short while ago. Last month, the MSCI USA Momentum index was rebalanced, and 68% of the portfolio changed. But the changes run even deeper. Financial stocks went from just 1.6% of the index to 32.5%, as JPMorgan Chase(JPM),Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B), and Bank of America(BAC) were added to the basket. Technology, meanwhile, fell from 41.1% to 17.9% as Apple(AAPL),Microsoft(MSFT), and Nvidia(NVDA) were dropped.
\n
That shift has meant some major changes to the characteristics of the momentum basket. Fourteen months ago, high-momentum stocks were more expensive relative to low-momentum stocks than anytime since the dot-com bubble, according to Wells Fargo data. Now, high-momentum stocks are cheaper than low-momentum ones for the first time since 2017—a good sign for the performance of high-momentum stocks. In the past, the stocks have gone on to outperform low-momentum ones by eight percentage points over the next 12 months.
\n
“High-momentum stocks now are slightly cheaper than low-momentum names, a rare occurrence,” explains Christopher Harvey, U.S. equity strategist at Wells Fargo Securities. “Historically, this condition generally leads to attractive momentum factor returns over the following six to 12 months.”
\n
The shift does come with a downside. Typically, investors are willing to pay up for high-momentum stocks because they offer more certain returns and lower volatility than low-momentum stocks. With the changes in the basket, however, high momentum is now more volatile than low momentum. That volatility should “decay” over time and ultimately drive the outperformance of the new high-momentum names, Harvey explains.
\n
“Should volatility decay, we would expect to see multiple expansion for the group,” he writes. “In the past, the Mo’ basket’s post-recession volatility decay has been a long and steady process, helping the style perform.”
\n
This past week hasn’t been too kind to some of the additions to the momentum basket. Banks got hit hard—the SPDR S&P Bank ETF(KBE) fell 2.5%, while JPMorgan dropped 3.7% and Bank of America declined 3.3%.Caterpillar(CAT), a new addition, fell 9.6%. If Harvey is correct, it could be a good time to buy momentum stocks on the dip.
\n
Just be ready for a wilder ride.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
‘Momentum’ Stocks Are a Mess. If Harvey is correct, it could be a good time to buy momentum stocks on the dip.\nJust be ready for a wilder ride.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":81,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":880313407,"gmtCreate":1631019173809,"gmtModify":1676530443648,"author":{"id":"3561606993964516","authorId":"3561606993964516","name":"Waynelzc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/475689535949cfffcc7cf959337e68a5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561606993964516","authorIdStr":"3561606993964516"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Cboe Volatility Index(VIX)$coin share","listText":"$Cboe Volatility Index(VIX)$coin share","text":"$Cboe Volatility Index(VIX)$coin share","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/922e5a093fcec2c7af8fd46a36927b9c","width":"1440","height":"2113"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/880313407","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":157,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":819670463,"gmtCreate":1630069659452,"gmtModify":1676530215672,"author":{"id":"3561606993964516","authorId":"3561606993964516","name":"Waynelzc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/475689535949cfffcc7cf959337e68a5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561606993964516","authorIdStr":"3561606993964516"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Testing","listText":"Testing","text":"Testing","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/819670463","repostId":"2162023599","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2162023599","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1630067870,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2162023599?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-27 20:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. consumer spending slows in July; monthly inflation moderates","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2162023599","media":"Reuters","summary":"WASHINGTON, Aug 27 (Reuters) - U.S. consumer spending slowed in July as shortages of motor vehicles ","content":"
WASHINGTON, Aug 27 (Reuters) - U.S. consumer spending slowed in July as shortages of motor vehicles tempered a rise in outlays on in-person services, supporting views that economic growth will moderate in the third quarter amid a resurgence in COVID-19 infections.
\n
Consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity, increased 0.3% last month, the Commerce Department said on Friday. But some investors have pulled the plug on the company lately.
\n
Tesla (TSLA) shares are nearly 25% below their all-time high set earlier in the year, and down 2% for 2021 to date -— a time when traditional automakers are surging as they ramp up electric vehicle ambitions.
\n
Ford (F) stock is up nearly 75%, putting it in the top 10 of the S&P 500 in 2021. The company unveiled its electric F-150 Lightning truck last month and also told investors that it now expects electric vehicles to account for 40% of global sales by 2030.
\n
And GM (GM) is up more than 40% as well. The Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac maker said this month that it's looking to spend a whopping $35 billion on EVs by 2025.
\n
It seems investors are a bit infatuated with these legacy Big 3 automakers as they look to rapidly expand their electric car offerings to catch up with Tesla.
\n
Tesla is still growing incredibly quickly. Analysts expect earnings per share to more than double this year and increase at an average rate of about 45% annually over the next few years.
\n
Yet Tesla is one of the most polarizing stocks on Wall Street.
\n
According to Refinitiv, 14 analysts have the stock rated a \"buy,\" 13 a \"hold\" and 10 a \"sell.\" Contrast that with GM, which has 20 buy ratings, two holds and no sells.
\n
Skeptics have many questions about Tesla and Musk
\n
The consensus target price for Tesla stock from analysts is $652, about 6% lower than its current price.
\n
Tesla critics have a pile of worries to point to. A notable short seller who was featured in \"The Big Short\" is betting against the company. Concerns about Tesla's management bench sprung up after longtime executive Jerome Guillen abruptly left earlier this month — especially since CEO Elon Musk is also busy running SpaceX.
\n
And Musk's obsession with bitcoin and dogecoin, along with other extracurricular activities like hosting Saturday Night Live and constantly tweeting, might be a turnoff for some investors and analysts.
\n
Still, there is no denying that the company has plenty of ardent fans, and its vehicles have grabbed plenty of positive headlines this week alone.
\n
For example, Cars.com (CARS) announced earlier this week that Tesla's Model 3 was ranked first in its American-Made Index, which measures how much a vehicle contributes to the US economy based on factors such as domestic factory jobs, manufacturing plants and parts sourcing.
\n
The Model 3 edged out Ford's Mustang for the top spot, and Tesla's Model Y also ranked third on the list. Shares of Tesla rallied more than 5% Wednesday following the news.
\n
The stock gained even more ground Thursday after Musk tweeted the night before that Tesla investors might get preferential treatment to buy shares of SpaceX-owned Starlink if SpaceX eventually decides to spin off the satellite internet service in a few years.
\n
So even though Tesla's stock is still in the red this year, shares have quickly clawed back much of their 2021 losses after a more than 12% surge in the past five days.
\n
Tesla is nothing if not volatile.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why Tesla stock is getting left in Ford's and GM's dust
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhy Tesla stock is getting left in Ford's and GM's dust\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-25 17:08 GMT+8 cnn\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
New York (CNN Business)Tesla had a stellar 2020: The electric car maker was added to the S&P 500 and the stock surged an electrifying 743%. Analysts expect earnings per share to more than double this year and increase at an average rate of about 45% annually over the next few years.\nYet Tesla is one of the most polarizing stocks on Wall Street.\nAccording to Refinitiv, 14 analysts have the stock rated a \"buy,\" 13 a \"hold\" and 10 a \"sell.\" Contrast that with GM, which has 20 buy ratings, two holds and no sells.\nSkeptics have many questions about Tesla and Musk\nThe consensus target price for Tesla stock from analysts is $652, about 6% lower than its current price.\nTesla critics have a pile of worries to point to. A notable short seller who was featured in \"The Big Short\" is betting against the company. Concerns about Tesla's management bench sprung up after longtime executive Jerome Guillen abruptly left earlier this month — especially since CEO Elon Musk is also busy running SpaceX.\nAnd Musk's obsession with bitcoin and dogecoin, along with other extracurricular activities like hosting Saturday Night Live and constantly tweeting, might be a turnoff for some investors and analysts.\nStill, there is no denying that the company has plenty of ardent fans, and its vehicles have grabbed plenty of positive headlines this week alone.\nFor example, Cars.com (CARS) announced earlier this week that Tesla's Model 3 was ranked first in its American-Made Index, which measures how much a vehicle contributes to the US economy based on factors such as domestic factory jobs, manufacturing plants and parts sourcing.\nThe Model 3 edged out Ford's Mustang for the top spot, and Tesla's Model Y also ranked third on the list. Shares of Tesla rallied more than 5% Wednesday following the news.\nThe stock gained even more ground Thursday after Musk tweeted the night before that Tesla investors might get preferential treatment to buy shares of SpaceX-owned Starlink if SpaceX eventually decides to spin off the satellite internet service in a few years.\nSo even though Tesla's stock is still in the red this year, shares have quickly clawed back much of their 2021 losses after a more than 12% surge in the past five days.\nTesla is nothing if not volatile.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":111,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9004816875,"gmtCreate":1642553339502,"gmtModify":1676533721900,"author":{"id":"3561606993964516","authorId":"3561606993964516","name":"Waynelzc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/475689535949cfffcc7cf959337e68a5","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3561606993964516","authorIdStr":"3561606993964516"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comma","listText":"Comma","text":"Comma","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9004816875","repostId":"2204408493","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2204408493","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1642541163,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2204408493?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-19 05:26","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US STOCKS-Wall St Sinks as Yields Spike, Financials Fall after Goldman Miss","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2204408493","media":"Reuters","summary":"* Nasdaq ends down 9.7% from Nov 19 record close* Goldman shares tumble as profit hit by weaker trad","content":"

* Nasdaq ends down 9.7% from Nov 19 record close

* Goldman shares tumble as profit hit by weaker trading

* Benchmark U.S. Treasury yields jump to two-year highs

* Activision soars on $68.7 billion Microsoft deal

* Indexes down: Dow 1.51%, S&P 1.84%, Nasdaq 2.6%

By Lewis Krauskopf, Bansari Mayur Kamdar and Shreyashi Sanyal

Jan 18 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes fell sharply on Tuesday as weak results from Goldman Sachs weighed on financial stocks and tech shares continued their sell-off to start the year as U.S. Treasury yields rose to milestones.

The Nasdaq dropped most among major indexes on Tuesday and now has fallen about 9.7% from its Nov. 19 record closing high, close to confirming a 10% correction for the first time since early 2021.
