Stake","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1115209760","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Carrier has right to buy T-Mobile US holding at lower price\nCEO Hoettges may reveal plans for U.S. e","content":"
\n
Carrier has right to buy T-Mobile US holding at lower price
\n
CEO Hoettges may reveal plans for U.S. expansion this week
\n
\n
Deutsche Telekom AG is in talks about a potential offer for SoftBank Group Corp.’s 8.5% stake in T-Mobile US Inc. in a bid to gain greater control over its U.S. affiliate, according to people familiar with the matter.
\n
The terms of a potential deal, including whether Deutsche Telekom might bid for the entire stake to get majority control, haven’t been finalized and no firm decision has been made about an offer, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. Deutsche Telekom Chief Executive Officer Tim Hoettges may reveal plans to expand the company’s U.S. presence at a capital markets day this week, one of the people said.
\n
Representatives for Deutsche Telekom and SoftBank declined to comment.
\n
Hoettges has a unique opportunity to increase the carrier’s exposure to the U.S., which generates healthier returns than the rest of its footprint, for a below-market rate. In 2020, SoftBank raised $14.8 billion from selling T-Mobile US shares to institutional investors. The terms of the deal gave Deutsche Telekom the right to buy some of SoftBank’s remaining stake at a price based on where T-Mobile US’s shares were trading at the time. Since then, the stock’s gone up more than 30% and is trading at around $135. Deutsche Telekom has until June 2024 to act on the options.
\n
The Japanese group became co-owner of T-Mobile US last year after the carrier completed a $26.5 billion merger withSprint Corp., which was controlled by SoftBank. Deutsche Telekom Chief Executive Officer Tim Hoettges may reveal plans to expand the company’s U.S. presence at a capital markets day this week, one of the people said.\nRepresentatives for Deutsche Telekom and SoftBank declined to comment.\nHoettges has a unique opportunity to increase the carrier’s exposure to the U.S., which generates healthier returns than the rest of its footprint, for a below-market rate. Deutsche Telekom has until June 2024 to act on the options.\nThe Japanese group became co-owner of T-Mobile US last year after the carrier completed a $26.5 billion merger withSprint Corp., which was controlled by SoftBank. SoftBank’s 8.5% holding in the merged company is valued at about $14.3 billion as of the shares’ last closing price. Deutsche Telekom currently owns 43% of T-Mobile US.\nSoftBank has been raising capital over the past two years as part of a push to unload assets to finance stock buybacks and pay down debt. Masayoshi Son’s technology investment giant has enjoyed an upturn in fortunes over the past twelve months, with SoftBank’s Vision Fund investment arm driving recent profits after being the source of its biggest loss a year ago.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":69,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3568230509761996","authorId":"3568230509761996","name":"AndreR93","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/96d3de091542c3cf445343cfbe260aeb","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"content":"Reply pls","text":"Reply pls","html":"Reply pls"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":371594916,"gmtCreate":1618959398235,"gmtModify":1704717382315,"author":{"id":"3561687131790412","authorId":"3561687131790412","name":"SLabcd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ee729bc8a6e8b42e7c9da20e9bbab6b8","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"? The partnership allows users to build and deploy AI-infused applications with IBM’s Watson, the company’s artificial intelligence computing platform. There are far better tech growth prospects elsewhere — specifically Kyndril’s competitors: Cloud giants Amazon (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft (Azure) and Google (Google Cloud).","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":18,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3572249185724220","authorId":"3572249185724220","name":"xoxoll","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8ed65c2962af2a6fbd414f4d6fe9e378","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"content":"Help me comment and like","text":"Help me comment and like","html":"Help me comment and like"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":807850998,"gmtCreate":1628031268514,"gmtModify":1703499759037,"author":{"id":"3561687131790412","authorId":"3561687131790412","name":"SLabcd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ee729bc8a6e8b42e7c9da20e9bbab6b8","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good ","listText":"Good ","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/807850998","repostId":"2156812076","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2156812076","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1628028126,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2156812076?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-08-04 06:02","market":"us","language":"en","title":"DoJ considering lawsuit to block UnitedHealth bid for Change Healthcare - The Information","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2156812076","media":"Reuters","summary":"Aug 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Justice is weighing a possible lawsuit to block UnitedHealt","content":"
Aug 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Justice is weighing a possible lawsuit to block UnitedHealth Group's nearly $8 billion deal to acquire health care analytics and technology vendor Change Healthcare, the Information reported on Tuesday.
\n
UnitedHealth agreed to buy Change Healthcare in January for $7.84 billion in an all-cash deal. coronavirus pandemic has stretched out, investors have continued to pour money into stocks, in part because the alternatives have been dismal. Why bother with 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds that yield a paltry 1.52% when the S&P 500 index has a dividend yield of 1.30% to go along with its growth potential?

Things may change in 2022 as the Federal Reserve winds down its bond purchases that have kept long-term interest rates low. Then again, U.S. stocks have continued to rise since the Fed announced its policy changes on Dec. 15.

With U.S. bond yields already so much higher than they are in the rest of the developed world, foreign investors may continue to buy U.S. bonds and keep yields at historically low levels. And that might make for a continued flow of money into U.S. stocks.

Below are lists of stocks among the benchmark S&P 500 , the S&P 400 Mid Cap Index $(MID)$ and the S&P Small Cap 600 Index that are rated "buy" or the equivalent by at least three out of four of Wall Street analysts polled by FactSet that are expected to rise the most over the next year. Those lists are followed by a summary of analysts' opinions of all 30 stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Large-cap favorites

Among the S&P 500, 93 stocks are rated a "buy" or the equivalent by at least 75% of analysts working for brokerage firms. Why bother with 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds that yield a paltry 1.52% when the S&P 500 index has a dividend yield of 1.30% to go along with its growth potential?Things may change in 2022 as the Federal Reserve winds down its bond purchases that have kept long-term interest rates low. Then again, U.S. stocks have continued to rise since the Fed announced its policy changes on Dec. 15.With U.S. bond yields already so much higher than they are in the rest of the developed world, foreign investors may continue to buy U.S. bonds and keep yields at historically low levels. And that might make for a continued flow of money into U.S. stocks.Below are lists of stocks among the benchmark S&P 500 , the S&P 400 Mid Cap Index $(MID)$ and the S&P Small Cap 600 Index that are rated \"buy\" or the equivalent by at least three out of four of Wall Street analysts polled by FactSet that are expected to rise the most over the next year. The ramp was accelerated when German newspaper Bild also highlighted the gains in Monday’s edition.

While the company's fundamentals are garbage - with Windeln.de’s market value falling about 95% since listing shares in 2015, as the company undertook a restructuring in 2018 and a reverse stock split in 2019 - that did not matter as th squeeze busters sniffed out its massive 200% SI and limited float, which according to Bloomberg is just 30% of the shares outstanding.

The move in WDL, whose market cap was about €10MM at the start of the surge, suggests that the shorthunters have again expanded their universe of squeeze candidates, which brings us back to our post from late January, when we looked at the most shorted microcap stocks, those which in many cases traded in the subpenny range and are lucky to have a $1 million market cap.

So in the name of market efficiency, we decided to recreate our screen of most shorted microcap/pennystock names, using Bloomberg data.

The screen, shown below, captures not only the popular meme/Reddit stocks such as Bed Bath, Workhorse and Clover Health which we first profiled last week, but also expands into those stocks that have a substantial short interest as a % of float - in some cases with a potentially large naked short overhang as their SI as % of float is above 100% - in the microcap space, i.e. with a market cap of a few million or less.

The list includes such names as Solar Integrated (SIRC) with a 55% short interest; OPETC International (OPTI) with 153% of the float shorted, the strategically named Renewable Energy And Power (RBNW) which is 50% shorted and even includes such old favorites as Saddle Ranch Media (SRMX), which we first profiled in January, and which thenwent on to generate a 3,800% return in two weeks!

And so, without further ado, here is the latest and greatest list of most shorted US-listed companies, including not only the mid/large caps such as NKLA, CLV, BBBY and WKHS which have already soared in the past weeks, but also the pennystocks such as SIRC, OPTI, GVSI, VDRM, HRAL, ASKE, SRMX and others, which may be coiled and just waiting to pounce as the next short squeeze wave rolls in.

As usual, for those who believe that the best way to beat the prevailing market madness is to simply join it, the easiest way will be to create an equal-weighted basket of these names and to just wait until the short-squeeze brigade comes in hot. The move in WDL, whose market cap was about €10MM at the start of the surge, suggests that the shorthunters have again expanded their universe of squeeze candidates, which brings us back to our post from late January, when we looked at the most shorted microcap stocks, those which in many cases traded in the subpenny range and are lucky to have a $1 million market cap.So in the name of market efficiency, we decided to recreate our screen of most shorted microcap/pennystock names, using Bloomberg data. And so, without further ado, here is the latest and greatest list of most shorted US-listed companies, including not only the mid/large caps such as NKLA, CLV, BBBY and WKHS which have already soared in the past weeks, but also the pennystocks such as SIRC, OPTI, GVSI, VDRM, HRAL, ASKE, SRMX and others, which may be coiled and just waiting to pounce as the next short squeeze wave rolls in.As usual, for those who believe that the best way to beat the prevailing market madness is to simply join it, the easiest way will be to create an equal-weighted basket of these names and to just wait until the short-squeeze brigade comes in hot. Because if the performance of our previous most shorted indexes is any indication, going long a market cap-weighted basket of these names - especially the smaller, least liquid microcaps - could turn out to be the trade of the year, if not a lifetime.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":17,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":196741431,"gmtCreate":1621125944423,"gmtModify":1704353028396,"author":{"id":"3561687131790412","authorId":"3561687131790412","name":"SLabcd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ee729bc8a6e8b42e7c9da20e9bbab6b8","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a
