deliver a hawkish message for 2023 at the December FOMC meeting.

It seems highly probable the Fed will signal a 5% or higher terminal rate for 2023.

If the Fed fails, it risks losing control of the market.

Win McNamee

The FOMC meeting on Wednesday, December 14, will be a meaningful event as it will end the expeditious process of raising rates to catch up with inflation and shift to the next phase, focusing on how high and for how long.

Listening to Fed officials since the November FOMC meeting, it is clear that the Fed's projected path of rate hikes will be higher than where they stood at the September FOMC meeting. At that point, the Fed saw the peak terminal rate at 4.6%. Rates are likely heading much higher than what the market has priced in for 2023.

The problem is that the market doesn't believe the Fed and currently sees rates at just 4.6% by December 2023.

Much Higher, For Much Longer

A 50 bps rate hike at the December meeting has been well-telegraphed, and Powell confirmed as much at his Q&A session at the Brookings Institutions on November 30. At least 6 Fed governors have openly noted that they see rates peaking above 5%, and while Powell may not have indicated where he sees the terminal rate, he has stated he sees it higher than the September projection. Additionally, Fed board members like Christopher Waller have suggested that rates have a long way to go and is among the Fed's most hawkish members. At that point, the Fed saw the peak terminal rate at 4.6%. Rates are likely heading much higher than what the market has priced in for 2023.The problem is that the market doesn't believe the Fed and currently sees rates at just 4.6% by December 2023.Much Higher, For Much LongerA 50 bps rate hike at the December meeting has been well-telegraphed, and Powell confirmed as much at his Q&A session at the Brookings Institutions on November 30. This is coming as welcome relief after a horrible period for the Chinese EV maker. To wit, even after the uptick, the shares are still down by 76% year-to-date.So, what’s behind the rally? According to Deutsche Bank analyst Edison Yu, the gains are largely down to a “short squeeze caused by investors getting too negative on the company’s cash runway and more generally on COVID/competition risks.”“While XPeng has clearly made several strategic missteps this year,” Yu went on to explain, “it still has many shots on goal left (35 billion RMB net cash exiting 3Q) and just underwent a restructuring to streamline its branding/ PR efforts.”Moving forward, Yu believes sales will get a boost from new models but the key to long-term success will depend on the company constantly attaining monthly demand of 15,000-20,000 units. That said, Yu thinks that probably has “little chance of happening until the end of 2023.” Meanwhile, in the interim, the company will face “increasing competitive pressure,” and that means there will be plenty of “uncertainty” ahead – at least for the foreseeable future. However, it is the ample cash reserves that Yu thinks offers the company the time needed to put things right, “win back market share and continue developing its ADAS/AD and fast charging technology.”The company anticipates 2022 R&D expense will be around 5.5 billion RMB and then drop in 2023. Additionally, Capex is not anticipated to be higher than 4.5 billion this year and then fall below 3 billion next year. “Even with our low volume outlook,” Yu said, “we think XPeng exits 2023E with >20bn in net cash, suggesting plenty of runway.”All told, then, Yu sticks with a Buy rating and $14 price target, suggesting shares will climb 17% higher over the coming months. And what about the rest of the Street? The ratings are a mixed bag, but ultimately, the stock claims a Moderate Buy consensus rating, based on 6 Buys vs. 2 Holds and Sells, each. That means reduced revenue, which to investors means the stock's share price could continue to drop, and also increases the likelihood that the company could cut its dividend further.\nTo some degree, the future revenue declines may have already been priced into the stock, but as an investor, I don't see upside for GEO Group any time soon.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":57,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":369663295,"gmtCreate":1614040315217,"gmtModify":1704887183908,"author":{"id":"3563864010203724","authorId":"3563864010203724","name":"LiJi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16cb71d421bb5155595bf0414f2d5325","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3563864010203724","idStr":"3563864010203724"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$diamond hands ","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$diamond hands ","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$diamond hands","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d93ee63453a4c7ed639e5d795e7fb21d","width":"828","height":"1590"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/369663295","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":81,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3478943190877125","authorId":"3478943190877125","name":"喜爱的蛋蛋","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5483f9ce86f0cb57658badb1db6b482","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"authorIdStr":"3478943190877125","idStr":"3478943190877125"},"content":"The same average price, 743 was full yesterday","text":"The same average price, 743 was full yesterday","html":"The same average price, 743 was full yesterday"}],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9966061668,"gmtCreate":1669349450955,"gmtModify":1676538187357,"author":{"id":"3563864010203724","authorId":"3563864010203724","name":"LiJi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16cb71d421bb5155595bf0414f2d5325","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3563864010203724","idStr":"3563864010203724"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"lol that's like almost 10 years ago","listText":"lol that's like almost 10 years ago","text":"lol that's like almost 10 years ago","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9966061668","repostId":"2286368829","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2286368829","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1669348884,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2286368829?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-11-25 12:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Recalls More Than 80,000 Local-Made, Imported Cars in China","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2286368829","media":"Reuters","summary":"(Reuters) - Tesla Inc is recalling more than 80,000 China-made and imported cars produced from as ea","content":"

(Reuters) - Tesla Inc is recalling more than 80,000 China-made and imported cars produced from as early as 2013, for software and seat belt issues, a statement by the Chinese market regulator revealed on Friday.

The U.S.-based electric car maker has recalled 67,698 Model S and Model X cars imported to China between Sept. 25, 2013 and Nov. 21, 2020, due to software problems affecting the battery management system in the vehicles.

Tesla also recalled 2,736 imported Model 3 cars manufactured between January and November 2019, and 10,127 China-made ones of the same model produced between Oct. 14, 2019 and Sept. 26, 2022. Recent volatility has pulled down prices on some promising stocks, and it's possible that additional turbulence will bring prices on great equities even lower. Big valuation pullbacks almost certainly add to the total amount of stress in the world, but they can also be great opportunities.

With that in mind, we assembled a team of Motley Fool contributors and asked each member to profile a stock that they believe is primed to go the distance and deliver great returns. Read on to see why they think that investors will be rewarded for building positions in these three companies.

Baozun

Keith Noonan (Baozun): Growth-dependent technology stocks have been hit hard amid recent market volatility, and Baozun's (NASDAQ:BZUN) valuation has slid far from its recent highs. The China-based e-commerce stock already looks like a good buy after the recent sell-off, and it's possible that risk-tolerant investors could secure even better long-term returns if a deeper market crash drives the company's share price lower.

Baozun is sometimes compared to Shopify because both companies provide e-commerce website creation and management services, but its business model is distinct enough to render the comparison somewhat misleading. So, while you might hear Baozun described as \"the Shopify of China,\" it's best to evaluate the company based on its own merits.

Baozun's core business revolves around providing a suite of online retail management tools and support services to large Western brands that are looking to tap into China's massive and fast-growing online retail market. While management has indicated that it's looking to move away from warehousing and order fulfillment services and focus on software services that deliver better margins, product storage and shipping still accounts for a substantial portion of the company's business. Like Shopify, Baozun also provides services that are tailored to small businesses, but this service is still at a relatively early growth stage.

The Chinese e-commerce services company is its own beast, and should be treated as such, but it's attractively valued and could deliver big wins for patient investors. Baozun stock trades down about 44% from its 52-week high of $57 per share and about 52% from the lifetime high that it hit in July 2018. With the company valued at $2.6 billion and trading at approximately 23 times this year's expected earnings, Baozun still has huge room for growth.

The Trade Desk

Jamal Carnette (The Trade Desk): It's been a tough year for high-growth tech stocks like advertising specialist The Trade Desk (NASDAQ:TTD). Shares cratered after the company reported first-quarter earnings. So naturally you'd expect the company to miss analyst estimates on revenue or earnings or provide tepid guidance -- and you'd be wrong.

The Trade Desk beat analyst estimates for the top line by posting revenue growth of 37%, a growth acceleration from the 33% clip in the year-ago quarter, and blew adjusted EPS estimates of $0.77 away by reporting $1.41. Even better, the company guided for $260.5 million in revenue at the midpoint next quarter, a figure above consensus expectations and 87% higher than last year's pandemic figure.

The Trade Desk is firing on all cylinders but shares are down nearly 44% from yearly highs established in February. Like many growth stocks, the stock had gotten ahead of itself, with a 210% explosion while revenue only increased 26% (still impressive during the pandemic). However, the recent sell-off has created an opportunity for long-term investors.

The Trade Desk's long-term thesis remains intact. Advertising will continue to move away from print and traditional cable to digital outlets like mobile and connected video, while the ad buying process will continue to migrate from person-to-person to programmatic transactions. As the world's largest independent buy-side digital programmatic platform, The Trade Desk is well situated to benefit from these long-term trends

Like all stocks, The Trade Desk has risks. Last year's amazing run was partially based on its leadership around Unified ID 2.0, a transparent opt-in email tracking solution to replace third-party cookies. Publishers, marketers, and others across the advertising ecosystem rallied around UID 2.0 as Apple and Alphabet banned third-party cookies. Recent communications appear to indicate these platforms are also against Unified ID's email-based identifier to capture data.

Those fears appear to be overdone and don't apply to the high-growth advertising verticals like connected TV that led The Trade Desk's growth last quarter. Additionally, The Trade Desk is aggressively looking for new ways to expand its capabilities like its innovative deal with Walmart to provide insight into the retail giant's shoppers that will make it easier for advertisers locate prospective buyers.

Amazon

Joe Tenebruso (Amazon): It might not seem like it at the time, but you can earn a fortune during a stock market crash. It's during these volatile times that the stock prices of the best businesses in the world are put on sale. Buying a high-quality, competitively advantaged company at a discounted price is an excellent recipe for wealth creation. Fortunately, we have one such opportunity today with Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN).

Amazon has grown even more dominant during the coronavirus pandemic. More people are shopping online than ever before, and no one does e-commerce better than Amazon. The online retail juggernaut saw its first-quarter net sales surge 40% to $64.4 billion in North America and 60% to $30.6 billion in international markets. That's a staggering level of growth for a $1.6 trillion company.

Incredibly, Amazon has another powerful growth driver in its high-margin cloud computing business. Amazon Web Services (AWS) delivered sales growth of 32% in the first quarter, as businesses shifted their operations to the cloud during the COVID-19 crisis. Impressively, AWS produced $4.2 billion in operating profit on its $13.5 billion in revenue.

Yet despite these strong results, Amazon's share price has pulled back by about 10% from its highs of the year, along with the prices of many other growth stocks during the recent market swoon. Therein lies your opportunity.

Amazon's business is as strong as it's ever been, and its shares are now trading at a bargain price. If you buy today, you could reap the rewards.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Stock Market Crash: 3 Companies to Buy and Hold for the Long Term
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nStock Market Crash: 3 Companies to Buy and Hold for the Long Term\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-17 10:00 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Depending on your perspective and positioning, a stock market crash can be an absolute nightmare or a blessing in disguise. As the world's largest independent buy-side digital programmatic platform, The Trade Desk is well situated to benefit from these long-term trendsLike all stocks, The Trade Desk has risks. Additionally, The Trade Desk is aggressively looking for new ways to expand its capabilities like its innovative deal with Walmart to provide insight into the retail giant's shoppers that will make it easier for advertisers locate prospective buyers.AmazonJoe Tenebruso (Amazon): It might not seem like it at the time, but you can earn a fortune during a stock market crash. It's during these volatile times that the stock prices of the best businesses in the world are put on sale. Buying a high-quality, competitively advantaged company at a discounted price is an excellent recipe for wealth creation. Fortunately, we have one such opportunity today with Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN).Amazon has grown even more dominant during the coronavirus pandemic. More people are shopping online than ever before, and no one does e-commerce better than Amazon. The online retail juggernaut saw its first-quarter net sales surge 40% to $64.4 billion in North America and 60% to $30.6 billion in international markets. That's a staggering level of growth for a $1.6 trillion company.Incredibly, Amazon has another powerful growth driver in its high-margin cloud computing business. Amazon Web Services (AWS) delivered sales growth of 32% in the first quarter, as businesses shifted their operations to the cloud during the COVID-19 crisis. Impressively, AWS produced $4.2 billion in operating profit on its $13.5 billion in revenue.Yet despite these strong results, Amazon's share price has pulled back by about 10% from its highs of the year, along with the prices of many other growth stocks during the recent market swoon. Therein lies your opportunity.Amazon's business is as strong as it's ever been, and its shares are now trading at a bargain price. If you buy today, you could reap the rewards.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":118,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":354611637,"gmtCreate":1617165936729,"gmtModify":1704696686093,"author":{"id":"3563864010203724","authorId":"3563864010203724","name":"LiJi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16cb71d421bb5155595bf0414f2d5325","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3563864010203724","idStr":"3563864010203724"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"like and comment please ","listText":"like and comment please ","text":"like and comment please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/354611637","repostId":"1154884109","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1154884109","pubTimestamp":1617160413,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1154884109?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-31 11:13","market":"sh","language":"en","title":"Morgan Stanley picks 5 stocks that could get a boost if China cuts emissions","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1154884109","media":"CNBC","summary":"China says it wants to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2060— a move that will significantly benefit some companies in China and the U.S., according to Morgan Stanley.Investors might be skeptical of China's claims, but the report laid out how authorities are already starting to clamp down on carbon emissions — particularly in the high-emitting industries of steel and aluminum production.\"We conclude that this drive for carbon neutrality is very serious,\" said analysts in a March 23 report. \"Th","content":"
\n
China says it wants to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2060— a move that will significantly benefit some companies in China and the U.S., according to Morgan Stanley.Investors might be skeptical of...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; They estimate steel mills there will cut production by 20% to 30% in 2021, causing a drop in domestic supply.\"Tangshan's production cut will mainly affect flat products, so flat steel prices will get strong support,\" said the analysts, who have been closely following the emissions cuts at Tangshan.Meanwhile, \"Baosteel has very good emission control practice,\" giving the company a competitive edge against peers like Tangshan, the report said.FangDa CarbonFangDa Carbonis the only publicly listed Chinese graphite electrode producer and will likely benefit from higher demand for the material, which is used inelectrical arc furnace (EAF) production of steel.\"The longer-term demand outlook is very positive — we expect more blast furnace capacity to switch to EAF in the long term,\" said the Morgan Stanley report. The analysts expect EAF's share of China's total steel capacity will rise to 20% by 2025, up from 12% currently.ArcelorMittalArcelorMittalis Morgan Stanley's \"favourite play on continued strength in steel margins given its diversified and global footprint,\" the analysts said.In addition, the company recently concluded two deals that are positive for earnings growth as they improve the cost position and carbon intensity of the business. Also, \"the formal introduction of a dividend policy that links dividends to free cash flows should provide comfort around a disciplined allocation of capital,\" Morgan Stanley said.AlcoaGlobal aluminum giantAlcoais \"well positioned to benefit from a constructive outlook for aluminum, supported by China's supply-side reform.\"The analysts expect Alcoa's assets to accelerate generation of free cash flow, \"leading to more significant shareholder returns.\"Risks aheadWhile Beijing might be clamping down on carbon emissions in some industries, it's less clear how serious the country is nationwide.Last year, China built more than three times as much new coal power capacity as the rest of the world, according to analysis from U.S.-based Global Energy Monitor. That's about the same as more than one large coal plant a week, the report said.Morgan Stanley acknowledged that skepticism surrounds China's sustainability goals but said their analysis finds \"many signs suggesting that this could be a more structural change that will reshape global commodities markets.\"Still, some risks remain. The investment bank cautioned that China could stop its efforts to cut carbon emissions due to rising costs and inflation. The analysts also said that tighter monetary policy could weaken China's demand for commodities, and the coronavirus pandemic could decrease global demand.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":61,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":184958907,"gmtCreate":1623681790409,"gmtModify":1704208617610,"author":{"id":"3563864010203724","authorId":"3563864010203724","name":"LiJi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16cb71d421bb5155595bf0414f2d5325","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3563864010203724","idStr":"3563864010203724"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$NIO Inc.(NIO)$happy! Technical factors, rather than developments that would affect earnings, appear to be behind the shift.
\n
NIO (ticker: NIO) stock was a can’t miss bet for months. Shares gained more than 1,100% in 2020, closing at around $49. They raced to almost $67 early this year, but stalled out and fell to less than $32 last month. New competition in China’s EV market, confusion over deliveries during the Lunar New Year holiday, and the global shortage of semiconductors for use in cars all gave investors reasons to sell, or avoid buying. Higher interest rates also dinged valuations of high-growth stocks in February and March.
\n
But over the past week, investors are feeling much better. Shares closed 3.8% higher on Monday afternoon, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were roughly flat.
\n
That took the shares from less than $36 to almost $43, even though not much has changed in fundamental terms.
\n
The stock picked up one new Buy rating. That always helps. CLSA analyst Soobin Park launched coverage of the stock with a Buy and $50 price target. Two-thirds of analysts covering the company rate shares Buy. The average Buy rating ratio for stocks in the S&P 500 is about 55%.
\n
Barron’s Ed Lin also pointed out Sunday that Munich Ergo Asset Management GmbH, which manages investments for reinsurance giant Munich Re,bought more shares of NIO stock in the first quarter. That vote of confidence may be lifting the stock as well.
\n
More important, though, NIO stock was oversold. The stock’s relative strength index, or RSI, which measures the speed and magnitude of price changes, was bouncing around 30 in early March, on a range from 0 and 100. A low reading of 30 means, for traders, that all the selling is done for the near term and that a stock might be due for a bounce.
\n
NIO stock has done exactly that. Now the RSI reading is back around 58, a little higher than the midpoint of 50, but not yet to the point where traders would start to target NIO shares as overbought.
\n
So far this year, NIO stock is down about 13% year to date, leaving it behind both the broader market and Tesla (TSLA) stock’s 4% gain. The next chapter of the stock’s story could begin on Thursday, when NIO reports its first-quarter financial results.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
NIO Stock Is Suddenly on Fire. Shares closed 3.8% higher on Monday afternoon, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were roughly flat.\nThat took the shares from less than $36 to almost $43, even though not much has changed in fundamental terms.\nThe stock picked up one new Buy rating. That always helps. CLSA analyst Soobin Park launched coverage of the stock with a Buy and $50 price target. Two-thirds of analysts covering the company rate shares Buy. The average Buy rating ratio for stocks in the S&P 500 is about 55%.\nBarron’s Ed Lin also pointed out Sunday that Munich Ergo Asset Management GmbH, which manages investments for reinsurance giant Munich Re,bought more shares of NIO stock in the first quarter. That vote of confidence may be lifting the stock as well.\nMore important, though, NIO stock was oversold. The stock’s relative strength index, or RSI, which measures the speed and magnitude of price changes, was bouncing around 30 in early March, on a range from 0 and 100. A low reading of 30 means, for traders, that all the selling is done for the near term and that a stock might be due for a bounce.\nNIO stock has done exactly that. Now the RSI reading is back around 58, a little higher than the midpoint of 50, but not yet to the point where traders would start to target NIO shares as overbought.\nSo far this year, NIO stock is down about 13% year to date, leaving it behind both the broader market and Tesla (TSLA) stock’s 4% gain. The next chapter of the stock’s story could begin on Thursday, when NIO reports its first-quarter financial results.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":79,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
