At some point, companies must prove their stock's value. And, at some point, people will want to take profits.
\n
What happened
\n
Shares of AMC Entertainment Holdings(NYSE:AMC),Skillz(NYSE:SKLZ), and Tonix Pharmaceuticals(NASDAQ:TNXP) fell 0.9%, 8.3%, and 4.2% as of closed on Wednesday, with the fickle meme stock trading crowd reversing recent bullishness. Leading the charge for today's rout, however, is Clover Health Investments(NASDAQ:CLOV), down 12.5%.
\n
So what
\n
If you're looking for the headlines behind the moves, don't bother. There aren't any.
\n
As has been the case for the past few months, traders looking for a speculative edge are simply gathering around these stocks in an effort to collectively create the price action they desire, often by creating memes regarding these companies. Such efforts cause incredible price volatility.
\n
\n
Many of these names -- like Clover this week -- have also been recently targeted as short-squeeze candidates. That's not a terribly bad bet right now either, to be fair, in that more than 7% of the outstanding shares of the health insurance company are currently tied up in short trades. That's enough short positions to prospectively spark en masse buying that drives the price sharply higher, ifthose short-sellers start becoming unnerved by a bit of bullishness. Tuesday's 15% jump for Clover shares didn't do the trick, however, with most of that gain being given back today.
\n
Shares of movie theater chain AMC Entertainment aren't really helping the broader bullish effort either. While one would expect this king of all meme stocks to soar following reports of record-breaking Labor Day weekend box office ticket sales, a bit of Tuesday's near-9% gain from AMC shares is also unwinding with Wednesday's1% sell-off. While that's hardly a devastating setback, the failure to follow through on Tuesday's advance is telling in and of itself.
\n
Of course, the broad market's sell-off today is also creating a headwind for these well-known meme stocks.
\n
Now what
\n
The advent of meme stock mania (and in particular, organized efforts to spark short squeezes) comes as no real surprise. If you give enough people enough time and the means of doing so, it's reasonable to expect them to capitalize on an opportunity -- including one they must plan out on one of the internet's more popular message boards. A little success on this front early this year prompted the trading crowd to replicate the effort.
\n
Regardless of the strategy's previous effectiveness, however, meme stock mania is losing steam. Not only are hedge funds and other managed investment pools now shoring up their risk exposure to short squeezes, traders are also running out of stocks they can push around.
\n
They're also running out of other buyers and bullish arguments.
\n
See, for most meme stocks to continue their rallies, new buyers must bring new money to the table to purchase shares from traders that have already scooped up the stock and are now looking to lock in a sizable profit. Enough people were willing to take such a swing early in the year when AMC was trading around $2 per share. Now that it's trading at more than $46 per share, however, would-be buyers are considerably less interested. Underscoring this idea is the fact that shares of Tonix Pharmaceuticals and Clover Health have yet to respond to the same rally driving strategies that -- at least for a while -- buoyed AMC stock. In a similar vein, Skillz shares have also stopped responding to the bullish prompts that drove the stock from around $11 per share in November of last year to February's high in excess of $46. They're now back near $11, unable to keep a rally going.
\n
There's something of a litmus test for the entire meme stock movement due this afternoon. Another meme stock company,GameStop(NYSE:GME), is slated to report its fiscal second-quarter numbers after today's closing bell rings. The numbers are important. But even more important is whether or not the trading crowd relaying on the web's popular message boards will be able to convince others to start and sustain a rally from GameStop. If it can, other meme stocks like AMC and Clover will remain at least somewhat in play. If it can't, it may well be a sign that the underlying strategy of individual traders targeting one ticker at a time is no longer effective. This in turn may sour most of them from even trying to do so, continuing the conversion of many of these meme names back to more conventionally priced stocks.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why AMC, Clover, and Other Meme Stocks Tumbled On Wednesday
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhy AMC, Clover, and Other Meme Stocks Tumbled On Wednesday\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-09-09 14:29 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The notion that groups of individual investors can consistently organize efforts to push stock prices around is starting to crumble. In a race to disrupt residential real estate, one of the largest markets in the world, Opendoor's long-term potential could bring big returns for patient investors.
\n
Despite the upside, the market hasn't yet appreciated Opendoor's accomplishments; the stock is down more than 50% from its highs. There are three important clues that Opendoor could be a compelling investment idea for bold investors.
\n
1. Opendoor is winning the iBuying battle
\n
The traditional home-buying process in the United States is slow and handled by multiple parties, including agents, lawyers, inspectors, and bankers. This creates a lot of back and forth paperwork and drags the process out to more than 30 days, on average.
\n
Opendoor pioneered the concept of \"iBuying,\" where the buying and selling of a house are digitized, and a company like Opendoor works directly with sellers to provide them with a cash offer and a digital closing process. The company then resells the house on the market. The iBuying process cuts out agents and some of the fees associated with traditional closings, such as agent commissions. Opendoor then resells the house on the market and charges a service fee of up to 5% on the transaction.
\n
After seeing Opendoor steadily grow with its iBuying concept, competitors have also begun to offer iBuying services, including Zillow Group and Offerpad. Because of how capital intensive the business is (a lot of money is needed to buy and sell thousands of houses) and how price competitive the housing market is, these companies are racing to get as big as possible. As the companies buy and sell more homes, they have the ability to become more profitable by leveraging outsourced contractors to save money, and its pricing algorithm improves as it sees more transactions.
\n
According to iBuyerStats, a website dedicated to tracking the competitors found in iBuying, Opendoor has consistently had the most housing inventory available for sale. It currently has roughly 3,300 houses for sale, 53% more than Zillow and more than four times as many as Offerpad.
\n
2. Revenue growth is ahead of schedule
\n
When companies go public viaSPACmerger, they lay out a public presentation of their business, often including long-term growth projections. Opendoor laid out its pre-merger investor presentation about a year ago, in September 2020.
\n
Fast forward to the company's recent 2021 Q2 earnings call. CEO and founder Eric Wu said on the earnings call, \"... based on our current progress, our second half revenue run rate is on track to exceed our 2023 target, a full two years ahead of plan.\"
\n
In other words, if Opendoor were to operate for 12 months at the level the business currently is, it would surpass the $9.8 billion in revenue it projected for 2023. This is an underlooked point because if Opendoor is already two years ahead of its original growth curve, where will it be by 2023? Sure, a dip in the housing market or other events could disrupt the company's speed of growth, but Opendoor is showing the world that the business is operating at a high level.
\n
3. SPACs are out of favor with the market... opportunity?
\n
Investors have overlooked this strong performance, focusing instead on the fact that Opendoor joined the public market via SPAC merger. It has hardly mattered what operating results or earnings have looked like for former SPACs; the stock market has been selling off virtually all SPAC-based stocks for several months now.
\n
Investors have been spooked by a handful of \"bad apple\" companies turning up fraudulent, and other companies have wildly missed on the projections they made before going public. These instances have burned those involved, and investors have taken a much more cautious attitude toward SPACs as a whole.
\n
But if companies like Opendoor keep blowing away estimates, the market is likely to come around eventually. When it does, the stock price could move aggressively. If we take Eric Wu's comments about revenue and assume that Opendoor does sales of $10 billion in 2022 (in other words, Opendoor stops growing and maintains its current pace over the following year), the stock currently trades at aprice-to-sales(P/S) ratio of just 1.0. That's a bargain-bin valuation.
\n
Competitor Zillow Group trades at a P/S ratio of more than 3, reflecting Opendoor's discount as a former SPAC.
\n
Here's the bottom line
\n
Real estate is a huge market, and it's a complicated industry because of the clash between traditional agents and the \"new kids\" on the block trying to bring technology into homebuying. It's too early to say that Opendoor will become the \"Amazon\" of home buying, but what seems certain is that the company is poised to be a big player in real estate's future if it keeps performing like this.
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
This Unloved Tech Stock Could Make You Rich One Day
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThis Unloved Tech Stock Could Make You Rich One Day\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-08-29 09:41 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Key Points\n\nThe iBuying business is a race to grow larger, and Opendoor is winning.\nThe company is growing at a rate that is two years ahead of what management projected just a year earlier.\nThe ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"OPEN":"Opendoor Technologies Inc"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/08/28/this-unloved-tech-stock-may-make-you-rich-one-day/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1129129956","content_text":"Key Points\n\nThe iBuying business is a race to grow larger, and Opendoor is winning.\nThe company is growing at a rate that is two years ahead of what management projected just a year earlier.\nThe market is bearish on virtually all SPACs, making Opendoor a bargain that could eventually bring huge returns.\n\n\nReal estate iBuying company Opendoor Technologies(NASDAQ:OPEN)has been executing at a high level in the three quarters since coming public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger. The article implies that the risk of myocarditis following inoculation with mRNA-1273 can be more than previously thought and is also higher than Pfizer/BioNTech SE’s mRNA-based vaccine, BNT162b.
\n
Per the same Washington Post article, the claims of higher risk of myocarditis, especially for males below the age of 30 or so, following Moderna’s jab are majorly based on data from Canada. The same data suggests that vaccination with mRNA-1273 may increase the risk of incidence of myocarditis by 2.5-fold compared to BNT162b. U.S. health officials are currently reviewing the data as well as data generated in the United States for a possible link to higher risk of heart inflammation. The report stated that the officials believe it is too early to conclude and issue any kind of new or revised warning or recommendation for mRNA-1273.
\n
We note that Pfizer’s BNT162b is already leading the vaccination race with $11.3 billion sales in the first half of 2021 compared to nearly $6 billion of sales from mRNA-1273. Moreover, the anticipated sales for 2021 for BNT162b and mRNA-1273 stands at $33.5 billion and approximately $19.2 billion, respectively.
\n
Meanwhile, U.S. health officials have decided to start providing booster doses to the country’s citizens beginning in the first week of fall that will start on Sep 20. Amid rising support for booster doses for better protection against the Delta variant, the potential link to higher risk of heart inflammation may hurt demand for Moderna’s mRNA-1273, pushing it further back in the competition. Moreover, a few new COVID-19 vaccines may enter the U.S. markets this year, which will result in increased competition.
\n
Shares of Moderna fell 5.8% on Aug 19, following the reports on probe for higher risk of heart inflammation. The company’s shares have surged 259.4% so far this year against the industry’s decrease of 0.3%.
\n

\n
\n
We note that the CDC concluded earlier in June that there is a “likely association” between mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines and increased cases of heart inflammation, including myocarditis and pericarditis, in adolescents and younger adults. Heart inflammation was reported after the first dose of mRNA-1273 and BNT162b in a small proportion of individuals, which increased further following the second dose. However, similar inflammation cases were not reported following vaccination with J&J’s JNJ adenovirus-based COVID-19 vaccine. Following the investigation, the labels of both mRNA-based vaccines were updated to include a warning label for increased risk of myocarditis.
\n
Meanwhile, the United States is not the only country to probe various risks with possible links to mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines. The article implies that the risk of myocarditis following inoculation with mRNA-1273 can be more than previously thought and is also higher than Pfizer/BioNTech SE’s mRNA-based vaccine, BNT162b.\nPer the same Washington Post article, the claims of higher risk of myocarditis, especially for males below the age of 30 or so, following Moderna’s jab are majorly based on data from Canada. The same data suggests that vaccination with mRNA-1273 may increase the risk of incidence of myocarditis by 2.5-fold compared to BNT162b. U.S. health officials are currently reviewing the data as well as data generated in the United States for a possible link to higher risk of heart inflammation. The report stated that the officials believe it is too early to conclude and issue any kind of new or revised warning or recommendation for mRNA-1273.\nWe note that Pfizer’s BNT162b is already leading the vaccination race with $11.3 billion sales in the first half of 2021 compared to nearly $6 billion of sales from mRNA-1273. Moreover, the anticipated sales for 2021 for BNT162b and mRNA-1273 stands at $33.5 billion and approximately $19.2 billion, respectively.\nMeanwhile, U.S. health officials have decided to start providing booster doses to the country’s citizens beginning in the first week of fall that will start on Sep 20. Amid rising support for booster doses for better protection against the Delta variant, the potential link to higher risk of heart inflammation may hurt demand for Moderna’s mRNA-1273, pushing it further back in the competition. Moreover, a few new COVID-19 vaccines may enter the U.S. markets this year, which will result in increased competition.\nShares of Moderna fell 5.8% on Aug 19, following the reports on probe for higher risk of heart inflammation. The company’s shares have surged 259.4% so far this year against the industry’s decrease of 0.3%.\n\nImage Source: Zacks Investment Research\nWe note that the CDC concluded earlier in June that there is a “likely association” between mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines and increased cases of heart inflammation, including myocarditis and pericarditis, in adolescents and younger adults. Heart inflammation was reported after the first dose of mRNA-1273 and BNT162b in a small proportion of individuals, which increased further following the second dose. However, similar inflammation cases were not reported following vaccination with J&J’s JNJ adenovirus-based COVID-19 vaccine. Following the investigation, the labels of both mRNA-based vaccines were updated to include a warning label for increased risk of myocarditis.\nMeanwhile, the United States is not the only country to probe various risks with possible links to mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines. Earlier this month, the European Medicines Agency initiated an investigation to study three new conditions found in a small proportion of individuals receiving mRNA-based vaccination. The individuals immunized with an mRNA-based vaccine reported that they developed either erythema multiforme (allergic skin reaction), glomerulonephritis (kidney inflammation) and/or nephrotic syndrome (renal disorder).\nModerna, Inc. The announcement comes almost six years after the introduction of Windows 10, which is the world's most widely used PC operating system, with over 1.3 billion devices using it.\nWindows, which represents over 10% of Microsoft's revenue even as the company has grown by selling cloud services, became more critical during the pandemic as people stayed home andspent more time with Windows 10for school, work and gaming. Microsoft reported higher Windows revenue from consumer PCs — butApple'sMac revenuealso rose, and shipments of PCs runningGoogle'sChrome OSskyrocketed.\nDuring the event, Microsoft:\n\nAnnounced Windows 11, which will be a free update and is due out by the holidays\nShowed new Xbox features coming to Windows 11\nRevealed big changes to its Microsoft Teams appin Windows 11\nUnveiled support for Android apps through the Amazon Appstore in Windows 11\nTook a shot at Apple and said its new Microsoft Store has lower fees\n\nMicrosoft, in shot at Apple, says store takes lower fees and allows payment processing\nMicrosoft executive Panos Panay drew a contrast on Thursday with other app stores during the Windows 11 launch. On the Windows Store, he said, developers can use Microsoft's payment processor (\"commerce engine\"), which takes a 12% fee from purchases. Or, he said, developers can use their own payment processor and keep 100% of purchases.\nThis is clearly a shot at Apple and to a lesser extent Google, which run the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for mobile software, which take a 15% to 30% fee from purchase. Game stores on Windows, like Steam, also take similar fees.\nMicrosoft rival Apple, in particular, faces a fair amount of developer and regulatory scrutiny over its fee. Microsoft also announced a way to install Android apps on Windows PCs through Amazon's Appstore platform.\n\"Today this world needs a more open platform,\" Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said, suggesting that big apps on Windows can become platforms of their own, another shot at Apple. — Kif Leswing\nWindows 11 will support Android apps from Amazon's App StoreAndroid AppsSource: Microsoft\nMicrosoft said Windows 11 will support Android apps through Amazon's app store. That means popular apps that people already use on phones will be available right on the desktop, in the Start menu and more.\nBut, notably, the Amazon App Store doesn't offer Google's popular Android apps like Gmail, Maps and other Google services. And according to Joanna Stern at the Wall Street Journal, you'll need to first sign in to your Amazon account to download those apps.\nStill, it could be huge for Microsoft's ARM-based Windows efforts, since those apps are already designed to work on mobile processors.\nNotably, this is similar to how Apple's Macs that run on its new M1 chip support iPhone and iPad apps. It shows how mobile apps, which people use all day long on their phones, are jumping to our desktop computers across both major platforms, Windows 11 and macOS.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":264,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":126546812,"gmtCreate":1624579943836,"gmtModify":1703840730039,"author":{"id":"3565449260630555","authorId":"3565449260630555","name":"jac_tb","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9fae92f2169c629ed025d1e5eba727c","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3565449260630555","authorIdStr":"3565449260630555"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Bsquare Corp(BSQR)$step by step","listText":"$Bsquare Corp(BSQR)$step by step","text":"$Bsquare Corp(BSQR)$step by step","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/126546812","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":253,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":182345922,"gmtCreate":1623555615766,"gmtModify":1704206058554,"author":{"id":"3565449260630555","authorId":"3565449260630555","name":"jac_tb","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9fae92f2169c629ed025d1e5eba727c","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3565449260630555","authorIdStr":"3565449260630555"},"themes":[],"htmlText":".","listText":".","text":".","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/182345922","repostId":"2143178871","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2143178871","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1623527706,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2143178871?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-13 03:55","market":"sh","language":"en","title":"G7 source praises Biden after 'complete chaos' of Trump","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2143178871","media":"Reuters","summary":"CARBIS BAY, England, June 12 - U.S. President Joe Biden brought a sharply different tone to the Group of Seven summit from his predecessor Donald Trump by allowing frank and collaborative discussion of global issues without sowing disruptive chaos, a source with knowledge of the discussions told Reuters.\"It used to be complete chaos,\" said the source. \"Before, we were on edge the entire, the whole time just trying to keep the G7 intact - and you don't have to worry about that now.\". \"You can ha","content":"
CARBIS BAY, England, June 12 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden brought a sharply different tone to the Group of Seven summit from his predecessor Donald Trump by allowing frank and collaborative discussion of global issues without sowing disruptive chaos, a source with knowledge of the discussions told Reuters.
\n
\"It used to be complete chaos,\" said the source. \"Before, we were on edge the entire, the whole time just trying to keep the G7 intact - and you don't have to worry about that now.\"
\n
\"You can have a frank discussion without having to start it off by saying: 'No. Russia is not going to come back into the G7,'\" the source said.
\n
The United States is back as a cooperative leader of the free world under Biden, France's Emmanuel Macron said earlier on Saturday, illustrating the relief felt by many key U.S. allies that the tumult of Trump's presidency is over.
\n
Macron's remark echoed that of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who hailed Biden on Thursday as \"a big breath of fresh air\".
\n
Neither Macron nor Johnson drew an explicit parallel between Biden and Trump, though both praised Biden's distinctly cooperative tone and officials said there was relief after Trump at times shocked and bewildered many European allies.
\n
(Reporting by Guy Faulconbridge; Assembly of the company's first production model, the Lucid Air, will occur at the newly built factory in Arizona in the second half of 2021. Management recently reported that the company has received more than 9,000 reservations for the Lucid Air, and it expects to deliver about 1,000 units of the luxury sedan to customers in North America by the end of the year; deliveries to customers in international markets will commence in 2022.
\n
Over the next five years, Lucid foresees considerable growth in production, including the introduction of an SUV, Project Gravity, in 2023. With projected Air deliveries rising to 36,000 and Project Gravity deliveries of 12,000, Lucid expects to sell about 48,000 vehicles in 2023.
\n
By 2026, however, management expects SUV deliveries of about 134,000 to outnumber Air deliveries (about 42,000). Similar to Tesla's approach, Lucid expects to transition from only selling luxury vehicles to also offering more-affordable models, which it expects to introduce in 2025. Growing from 7,000 in 2025 to 75,000 in 2026, sales of the more-affordable vehicles will help the company (presumably) sell 251,000 vehicles in 2026.

\n
Looking for the financials in the crystal ball
\n
In seeking to grow vehicle deliveries from less than 1,000 in 2021 to 251,000 five years later, management clearly anticipates considerable success in convincing customers to hop into its driver seats. To put this in perspective, consider that over the past five years, Tesla has reported an average gross margin of 19.7%. Profitability on an EBITDA basis, on the other hand, isn't expected to occur until 2024. If Lucid meets its revenue and EBITDA forecasts in 2026, it'll generate an EBITDA margin of about 12.7%, comparable to the 13% EBITDA margin that Tesla has reported on a trailing-12-month basis.

\n
In terms of cash flow, Lucid expects that it will allocate $1.9 billion for capital expenditures (capex) in 2023 -- the highest amount over the next five years -- presumably to prepare for the production of its SUV that's planned for that year. Consequently, Lucid projects generating $1.52 billion in free cash flow in 2026. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) climbed $1.32, or 2.3%, to $59.08, having lost 6.2% on Tuesday.
\n
“The potential disruption to supplies has lifted prices,” said Jeffrey Halley of brokerage OANDA, referring to the Suez incident. “The reprieve seems temporary, though.”
\n
Oil has recovered from historic lows reached last year as OPEC and its allies made record output cuts. But both benchmarks touched their lowest since February on Tuesday, hit by worries over the pace of economic and demand recovery.
\n
Italy, France and other European countries have re-imposed movement restrictions. But German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was reversing a decision for a stricter Easter shutdown.
In a race to disrupt residential real estate, one of the largest markets in the world, Opendoor's long-term potential could bring big returns for patient investors.\nDespite the upside, the market hasn't yet appreciated Opendoor's accomplishments; the stock is down more than 50% from its highs. There are three important clues that Opendoor could be a compelling investment idea for bold investors.\n1. Opendoor is winning the iBuying battle\nThe traditional home-buying process in the United States is slow and handled by multiple parties, including agents, lawyers, inspectors, and bankers. This creates a lot of back and forth paperwork and drags the process out to more than 30 days, on average.\nOpendoor pioneered the concept of \"iBuying,\" where the buying and selling of a house are digitized, and a company like Opendoor works directly with sellers to provide them with a cash offer and a digital closing process. The company then resells the house on the market. The iBuying process cuts out agents and some of the fees associated with traditional closings, such as agent commissions. Opendoor then resells the house on the market and charges a service fee of up to 5% on the transaction.\nAfter seeing Opendoor steadily grow with its iBuying concept, competitors have also begun to offer iBuying services, including Zillow Group and Offerpad. Because of how capital intensive the business is (a lot of money is needed to buy and sell thousands of houses) and how price competitive the housing market is, these companies are racing to get as big as possible. As the companies buy and sell more homes, they have the ability to become more profitable by leveraging outsourced contractors to save money, and its pricing algorithm improves as it sees more transactions.\nAccording to iBuyerStats, a website dedicated to tracking the competitors found in iBuying, Opendoor has consistently had the most housing inventory available for sale. It currently has roughly 3,300 houses for sale, 53% more than Zillow and more than four times as many as Offerpad.\n2. Revenue growth is ahead of schedule\nWhen companies go public viaSPACmerger, they lay out a public presentation of their business, often including long-term growth projections. Opendoor laid out its pre-merger investor presentation about a year ago, in September 2020.\nFast forward to the company's recent 2021 Q2 earnings call. CEO and founder Eric Wu said on the earnings call, \"... based on our current progress, our second half revenue run rate is on track to exceed our 2023 target, a full two years ahead of plan.\"\nIn other words, if Opendoor were to operate for 12 months at the level the business currently is, it would surpass the $9.8 billion in revenue it projected for 2023. This is an underlooked point because if Opendoor is already two years ahead of its original growth curve, where will it be by 2023? Sure, a dip in the housing market or other events could disrupt the company's speed of growth, but Opendoor is showing the world that the business is operating at a high level.\n3. SPACs are out of favor with the market... opportunity?\nInvestors have overlooked this strong performance, focusing instead on the fact that Opendoor joined the public market via SPAC merger. It has hardly mattered what operating results or earnings have looked like for former SPACs; the stock market has been selling off virtually all SPAC-based stocks for several months now.\nInvestors have been spooked by a handful of \"bad apple\" companies turning up fraudulent, and other companies have wildly missed on the projections they made before going public. These instances have burned those involved, and investors have taken a much more cautious attitude toward SPACs as a whole.\nBut if companies like Opendoor keep blowing away estimates, the market is likely to come around eventually. That's a bargain-bin valuation.\nCompetitor Zillow Group trades at a P/S ratio of more than 3, reflecting Opendoor's discount as a former SPAC.\nHere's the bottom line\nReal estate is a huge market, and it's a complicated industry because of the clash between traditional agents and the \"new kids\" on the block trying to bring technology into homebuying. It's too early to say that Opendoor will become the \"Amazon\" of home buying, but what seems certain is that the company is poised to be a big player in real estate's future if it keeps performing like this.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":522,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":379334337,"gmtCreate":1618671699629,"gmtModify":1704713974855,"author":{"id":"3565449260630555","authorId":"3565449260630555","name":"jac_tb","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9fae92f2169c629ed025d1e5eba727c","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3565449260630555","authorIdStr":"3565449260630555"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Churchill Capital Corp IV(CCIV)$anybody knows what are the potential catalysts for this stock to rebound?","listText":"$Churchill Capital Corp IV(CCIV)$anybody knows what are the potential catalysts for this stock to rebound?","text":"$Churchill Capital Corp IV(CCIV)$anybody knows what are the potential catalysts for this stock to rebound?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/379334337","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":645,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3578631106874889","authorId":"3578631106874889","name":"Starship89","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/32ff2a09eb9746949c2dd2367dedee47","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"idStr":"3578631106874889","authorIdStr":"3578631106874889"},"content":"Most probably till we start seeing test drive by public and review.
