The name change was proposed in April after the completion of the merger between Keppel Offshore &amp; Marine (Keppel O&amp;M) and SembMarine.</p><p>It is not known whether the offences are related to the corrupt payments made by Keppel O&amp;M.</p><p>According to queries made by CNA, CPIB said that it was unable to provide further details as investigations were still ongoing.</p><p>In December 2022, Keppel O&amp;M had reached a joint resolution with the Brazilian authorities by signing a leniency agreement and paid around US$65 million ($88.3 million) in relation to the long-running corruption case.</p><p>The Keppel O&amp;M employees involved in the case were let off with stern warnings by the Singapore government due to insufficient evidence. However, the government added that the case could be reopened should new evidence emerge.</p><p>In March 2023, Brazil’s Comptroller General of the Union had commenced a “preliminary administrative liability proceeding” against SembMarine’s local unit, Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz Ltda (EJA), for alleged “irregularities”.</p><p><strong>New director appointed</strong></p><p>Seatrium has also announced the appointment of Sarjit Singh Gill as its independent director.</p><p>Gill, who will step into the role with effect from June 1, will also be appointed as a member of the audit and risk committee upon his appointment as a director.</p><p>Gill is a senior partner with Shook Lin &amp; Bok and is a senior counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore since 1998. With surging investor interest in AI, driven by the enormous public interest in the fastest-growing app in history, ChatGPT, it is little wonder that Palantir stock is up 30% year to date, compared to the <b>S&amp;P 500</b>, up only a little over 3%.</p><p>More than just the public is interested in AI; businesses and government organizations adopting AI applications is a huge secular trend. Companies &#34;needing to do more with less&#34; use AI to increase employee productivity and help management make more informed decisions. Government agencies, the military, intelligence organizations, police, the Securities Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of the Treasury, and more need AI capabilities to create more efficient operations, make better decisions, reduce fraud, and reduce staffing.</p><p>Despite the economic slowdown, Palantir is translating interest in AI from government and commercial interests into revenue growth, as seen in the charts below.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c9bd8c650c0162a58c7fc05181363999\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"366\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"/></p><p>Image source: Palantir.</p><p>Another thing to like about this company is that it achieved GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) earnings-per-share profitability for the first time in its fourth-quarter 2022 results, which exceeded management&#39;s projection to achieve profitability in 2025.</p><p>Many people were skeptical about whether Palantir could achieve that 2025 profitability projection when management first made the forecast and thought it would take longer. Suppose that is true. The stock would become much more attractive than many other technology investments lacking profitability.</p><p>Management attributed its fourth-quarter profit to solid revenue growth, fiscal discipline, a gain from the acquisition of the Palantir Japan joint venture, and progress in reducing stock-based compensation (SBC), something shareholders cheer as SBC dilutes the value of existing shares.</p><p>Dilution is a considerable risk for shareholders in an economic environment that reduces a company&#39;s growth rates. Should the company fail to grow fast enough to counteract the negative impact of dilution from SBC, the stock price could flatline or drop. Since we are in a slow-growth environment, it is great to see Palantir manage SBC expenses prudently, which not all tech companies do.</p><p>Palantir&#39;s fourth-quarter 2022 SBC expense decreased by $38 million from the fourth quarter of 2021, and was $213 million lower in 2022 than the previous year.</p><h2>A few risks that can trip up the company</h2><p>Palantir might still be on a post-earnings rally. But William Blair analyst Louie DiPalma threw a wrench into those plans by pointing out that six of the company&#39;s government contracts are up for renewal over the next year and a quarter, with three of them among the company&#39;s most significant. DiPalma also noted that competition from open-source solutions for those contracts could be fierce. As a result of DiPalma&#39;s bearish arguments, investors recently lost enthusiasm for investing in the stock.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d12d083b7463af9855c5197ae85d7a60\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"433\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"/></p><p>PLTR data by YCharts</p><p>There are also other issues with the company. Palantir expected to benefit from these investments based on the trade-off that investees would purchase its products.</p><p>However, some people viewed these investments as a reckless move by management, as it was apparent in 2021 that inflation was becoming a significant problem. And in 2022, the Federal Reserve started raising interest rates at its fastest pace in 40 years. Newer companies often perform terribly in a high interest rate and rising interest rate environment. Unfortunately for Palantir, this time is no different. Companies &#34;needing to do more with less&#34; use AI to increase employee productivity and help management make more informed decisions. The stock would become much more attractive than many other technology investments lacking profitability.</p><p>Management attributed its fourth-quarter profit to solid revenue growth, fiscal discipline, a gain from the acquisition of the Palantir Japan joint venture, and progress in reducing stock-based compensation (SBC), something shareholders cheer as SBC dilutes the value of existing shares.</p><p>Dilution is a considerable risk for shareholders in an economic environment that reduces a company&#39;s growth rates. Should the company fail to grow fast enough to counteract the negative impact of dilution from SBC, the stock price could flatline or drop. Since we are in a slow-growth environment, it is great to see Palantir manage SBC expenses prudently, which not all tech companies do.</p><p>Palantir&#39;s fourth-quarter 2022 SBC expense decreased by $38 million from the fourth quarter of 2021, and was $213 million lower in 2022 than the previous year.</p><h2>A few risks that can trip up the company</h2><p>Palantir might still be on a post-earnings rally. But William Blair analyst Louie DiPalma threw a wrench into those plans by pointing out that six of the company&#39;s government contracts are up for renewal over the next year and a quarter, with three of them among the company&#39;s most significant. And in 2022, the Federal Reserve started raising interest rates at its fastest pace in 40 years. Newer companies often perform terribly in a high interest rate and rising interest rate environment. Unfortunately for Palantir, this time is no different. Yet, lately people have ignored AMD because they’re obsessed with <strong>Nvidia</strong> (NASDAQ:<strong>NVDA</strong>). It’s fine to pay attention to Nvidia, but don’t dismiss the upside potential of AMD stock.</p><p>Always an innovator, AMD continues to introduce powerful tech hardware into the market. For example, AMD recently showcased its ultra-powerful EPYC central processing units (CPUs) and Pensando data processing units (DPUs).</p><p>However, short-term stock traders didn’t seem very impressed with these product offerings. Many of them have been too occupied with Nvidia to think about AMD. That’s a mistake, though, as AMD can benefit from the AI trend just like Nvidia can.</p><h2 id=\"id_1405735918\">AMD’s AI-Focused Acquisition</h2><p>Do you need evidence that AMD is proactively riding the AI-tech wave in 2023? Look no further, then, as AMD just announced a game-changing acquisition that the financial press isn’t spending enough time talking about.</p><p>According to AMD’s official blog, the chipmaker is deepening its AI inference software capabilities though AMD’s acquisition of French company <strong>Mipsology</strong>.</p><p>The buyout is now finalized, so AMD can access Mipsology’s AI inference and optimization tools. Plus, AMD will avail itself of Mipsology’s skilled software team, which reportedly “will join the AMD AI Group.”</p><p>The point is, AMD is clearly very serious about pursuing advancements in the AI-technology field. The Mipsology acquisition will, as the blog post asserts, enable AMD and its customers to “tap into the vast potential of pervasive AI.”</p><h2 id=\"id_2798766531\">AMD Stock Tumbles Nearly 7%, But Don’t Worry</h2><p>Aug. 24 was a rough day for AMD’s shareholders. Nvidia had just released its excellent second-quarter 2023 financial results. As it turned out, Nvidia easily beat the analysts’ consensus earnings per share (EPS) prediction of $2.08 by delivering earnings of $2.70 per share.</p><p>AMD had already released its Q2 results, and the company marginally beat Wall Street’s quarterly EPS forecast. The actual earnings result was 58 cents per share, versus the expected 57 cents per share.</p><p>Since Nvidia’s EPS beat was much more eye-catching, AMD looked lackluster in comparison. Consequently, AMD stock fell nearly 7% on Aug. 24, landing at $101.80.</p><p>Mizuho analyst Jordan Klein suggested that “no one” besides Nvidia sounds good in the semiconductor market. I don’t see it that way, though, and I feel that the AMD share-price selloff was irrational.</p><p>I tend to concur with the viewpoint of <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/EFFE\">Global X</a> research analyst Tejas Dessai. As Dessai explained, there are “hundreds of billions of dollars worth of computational infrastructural inside data centers that are up for replacement in the new computing paradigm.”</p><p>In other words, the AI-hardware market is vast, and there’s room for more players than just Nvidia. Moreover, if Nvidia brings attention and publicity to the AI-chip industry in general, AMD could benefit from this.</p><h2 id=\"id_2117239061\">AMD Stock: $150 Is Still in Play</h2><p>The AI-hardware market doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game. There’s room for both Nvidia and AMD to capitalize on the AI trend, so don’t hastily dismiss AMD and miss a prime investment opportunity.</p><p>I’ve set a $150 price target for AMD stock, and I’m not about to give up on that prediction. The market’s obsession with Nvidia doesn’t exclude AMD from the AI-hardware industry’s growth. It’s fine to pay attention to Nvidia, but don’t dismiss the upside potential of AMD stock.Always an innovator, AMD continues to introduce powerful tech hardware into the market. For example, AMD recently showcased its ultra-powerful EPYC central processing units (CPUs) and Pensando data processing units (DPUs).However, short-term stock traders didn’t seem very impressed with these product offerings. Many of them have been too occupied with Nvidia to think about AMD. That’s a mistake, though, as AMD can benefit from the AI trend just like Nvidia can.AMD’s AI-Focused AcquisitionDo you need evidence that AMD is proactively riding the AI-tech wave in 2023? Look no further, then, as AMD just announced a game-changing acquisition that the financial press isn’t spending enough time talking about.According to AMD’s official blog, the chipmaker is deepening its AI inference software capabilities though AMD’s acquisition of French company Mipsology.The buyout is now finalized, so AMD can access Mipsology’s AI inference and optimization tools. Plus, AMD will avail itself of Mipsology’s skilled software team, which reportedly “will join the AMD AI Group.”The point is, AMD is clearly very serious about pursuing advancements in the AI-technology field. The Mipsology acquisition will, as the blog post asserts, enable AMD and its customers to “tap into the vast potential of pervasive AI.”AMD Stock Tumbles Nearly 7%, But Don’t WorryAug. 24 was a rough day for AMD’s shareholders. Nvidia had just released its excellent second-quarter 2023 financial results. As it turned out, Nvidia easily beat the analysts’ consensus earnings per share (EPS) prediction of $2.08 by delivering earnings of $2.70 per share.AMD had already released its Q2 results, and the company marginally beat Wall Street’s quarterly EPS forecast. The actual earnings result was 58 cents per share, versus the expected 57 cents per share.Since Nvidia’s EPS beat was much more eye-catching, AMD looked lackluster in comparison. Consequently, AMD stock fell nearly 7% on Aug. 24, landing at $101.80.Mizuho analyst Jordan Klein suggested that “no one” besides Nvidia sounds good in the semiconductor market. I don’t see it that way, though, and I feel that the AMD share-price selloff was irrational.I tend to concur with the viewpoint of Global X research analyst Tejas Dessai. As Dessai explained, there are “hundreds of billions of dollars worth of computational infrastructural inside data centers that are up for replacement in the new computing paradigm.”In other words, the AI-hardware market is vast, and there’s room for more players than just Nvidia. Moreover, if Nvidia brings attention and publicity to the AI-chip industry in general, AMD could benefit from this.AMD Stock: $150 Is Still in PlayThe AI-hardware market doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game. There’s room for both Nvidia and AMD to capitalize on the AI trend, so don’t hastily dismiss AMD and miss a prime investment opportunity.I’ve set a $150 price target for AMD stock, and I’m not about to give up on that prediction. The market’s obsession with Nvidia doesn’t exclude AMD from the AI-hardware industry’s growth. For instance, AMD launched data center accelerators in the last couple of years which are now giving fierce competition to Nvidia&#39;s finest. It launched another monster accelerator, termed MI300, this January to up the ante in the server and data center space. Besides, AMD launched a full bouquet of its Zen 4-based 7000-series CPUs and a couple of high-end 7000-series GPUs in the past 4-5 months. This aggressive approach towards competitive product releases, in quick successions, has allowed AMD to consistently gain market share in the majority of its recent quarters.</p><p></p><p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cb9507d6ed13fecf5c321f1d9a921851\" alt=\"AMD&#39;s market share\" title=\"AMD&#39;s market share\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"407\"/><span>AMD&#39;s market share</span></p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"></p><p>But the chipmaker&#39;s management isn&#39;t sitting idle and counting its laurels. They&#39;re now gearing to release budget GPUs targeting the mainstream gaming community, a full range of mobile chips and a stack of 13 server-centered EPYC SKUs under its Zen 4-architecture banner, in the coming few months. These launches will only contribute towards AMD&#39;s market share gain story and catapult its growth higher, possibly even during in the currently-prevalent recessionary environment. This prospect of ongoing market share gains, in my opinion, is one of the major reasons why growth-seeking investors should consider owning AMD&#39;s shares for the multi-year time horizon.</p><h2>Easing Competition</h2><p>Secondly, things are sailing smoothly at AMD&#39;s camp. The company has partnered with Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) for its chip fabrication, and its manufacturing as well as node advancements are going per their scheduled timelines. TSM&#39;s N3E node offers 60% more logic density compared to its own N5 node that&#39;s currently being used in AMD&#39;s Zen 4 SKUs. This node will become commercially available this year and AMD will be tapping that for the release of its Zen 5-based SKUs, arguably, in the second half of 2023. In simple terms, AMD will be able to deliver massive performance gains compared to its latest Zen 4 chips, that are already trading blows with Intel&#39;s finest.</p><p>Intel, on the other hand, is still trying to get on top of its fabrication game. It cancelled Rialto Bridge chips that were due for release in the next 12 months and it delayed Falcon Shores until 2025. Its 14th gen CPUs will be fabricated using Intel 4 (or 7nm conventionally speaking) node which will be comparable to TSM&#39;s N3E in terms of transistor density. But the 14th gen SKUs are been built with a mobile-first approach and its desktop SKUs are limited to just 6 performance cores, meaning they&#39;ll struggle to compete with AMD&#39;s 8 core-plus SKUs in terms of compute performance.</p><p>Essentially, I believe AMD has a 12-24-month process lead over Intel, due to the latter&#39;s ongoing delays and questionable product roadmaps. This will set up AMD for continued market share gains at Intel&#39;s expense and, as a result, its pace of revenue growth is likely to remain at elevated levels in the foreseeable future.</p><h2>Attractive Valuation</h2><p>A major point of contention amongst AMD bears is that its shares are arguably overvalued. The stock is trading at over 6-times its trailing twelve-month sales so the pessimism is warranted. But valuations are a bit more nuanced than that and the following chart will shed more light on the matter.</p><p></p><p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4b522f276314d6b2b8c180432c54cbf6\" alt=\"AMD&#39;s relative valuation\" title=\"AMD&#39;s relative valuation\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"359\"/><span>AMD&#39;s relative valuation</span></p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"></p><p>The Y-axis plots the Price-to-Sales multiples for over 50 semiconductor stocks listed on US bourses. Note how AMD is vertically positioned more or less in the middle, indicating that its trading around industry average levels. But Nvidia, one of AMD&#39;s key rivals in the GPU space, is vertically positioned at the top end of the chart. So, AMD appears to be trading at a steep discount compared to its close competitor.</p><p>Now, let&#39;s shift attention to the X-axis which plots the revenue growth rates for the same set of companies. Note how AMD is horizontally positioned towards the right end of the chart. This indicates the chipmaker&#39;s pace of revenue growth is much higher than most of the other semiconductor names in our study group, also leaving behind Nvidia by a huge margin.</p><p>The collective takeaway from both the axes here is that AMD&#39;s revenue is growing at a breakneck pace but its shares are still trading around industry average levels. There are, in fact, just 5 other semiconductor stocks that grew revenue faster than AMD and are trading at a relative discount. This leads us to the conclusion that AMD&#39;s shares are still undervalued at current levels and have ample room for appreciation, given its rapid pace of revenue growth.</p><h2>Final Thoughts</h2><p>The takeaway here is that AMD has lots going for it. Its management continues to execute flawlessly, its engineering teams are bringing competitive products to the market that are constantly winning market share and the stock is significantly undervalued compared to many of the other popular semiconductor names. Due to these reasons, I remain bullish on AMD. Readers and investors with a multi-year time horizon, may want to accumulate the chipmaker&#39;s shares on potential price corrections. But the 14th gen SKUs are been built with a mobile-first approach and its desktop SKUs are limited to just 6 performance cores, meaning they'll struggle to compete with AMD's 8 core-plus SKUs in terms of compute performance.Essentially, I believe AMD has a 12-24-month process lead over Intel, due to the latter's ongoing delays and questionable product roadmaps. This will set up AMD for continued market share gains at Intel's expense and, as a result, its pace of revenue growth is likely to remain at elevated levels in the foreseeable future.Attractive ValuationA major point of contention amongst AMD bears is that its shares are arguably overvalued. The stock is trading at over 6-times its trailing twelve-month sales so the pessimism is warranted. But valuations are a bit more nuanced than that and the following chart will shed more light on the matter.AMD's relative valuationThe Y-axis plots the Price-to-Sales multiples for over 50 semiconductor stocks listed on US bourses. Note how AMD is vertically positioned more or less in the middle, indicating that its trading around industry average levels. But Nvidia, one of AMD's key rivals in the GPU space, is vertically positioned at the top end of the chart. So, AMD appears to be trading at a steep discount compared to its close competitor.Now, let's shift attention to the X-axis which plots the revenue growth rates for the same set of companies. Note how AMD is horizontally positioned towards the right end of the chart. This indicates the chipmaker's pace of revenue growth is much higher than most of the other semiconductor names in our study group, also leaving behind Nvidia by a huge margin.The collective takeaway from both the axes here is that AMD's revenue is growing at a breakneck pace but its shares are still trading around industry average levels. There are, in fact, just 5 other semiconductor stocks that grew revenue faster than AMD and are trading at a relative discount. This leads us to the conclusion that AMD's shares are still undervalued at current levels and have ample room for appreciation, given its rapid pace of revenue growth.Final ThoughtsThe takeaway here is that AMD has lots going for it. Its management continues to execute flawlessly, its engineering teams are bringing competitive products to the market that are constantly winning market share and the stock is significantly undervalued compared to many of the other popular semiconductor names.
