fourth-quarter and full-year results for fiscal 2022 (essentially the November 2021 through January 2022 period) after the market close on Wednesday, Feb. 16. An analyst conference call is scheduled for the same day at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Investors in the graphics chip specialist will probably be approaching the report with optimism. The company has beaten Wall Street's consensus earnings estimate in at least the past six consecutive quarters. In addition, investors will be eager to hear what management has to say on the earnings call about the Omniverse, which is Nvidia's platform for enabling companies to build out their metaverses.

Here's what to watch in the company's upcoming report.

Nvidia's key quarterly numbers

Here are benchmarks to use to gauge the tech company's results.

DATA SOURCES: NVIDIA AND YAHOO! FINANCE. FISCAL Q4 2022 ESSENTIALLY CORRESPONDS WITH THE NOVEMBER 2021 THROUGH JANUARY 2022 PERIOD. *ADJUSTED TO REFLECT 4-FOR-1 STOCK SPLIT IN JULY 2021, WHICH INCREASED SHARE COUNT BY A FACTOR OF FOUR. **CALCULATED BY THE AUTHOR BASED ON THE METRICS FOR WHICH MANAGEMENT PROVIDES GUIDANCE.

For context, in fiscal Q3, Nvidia's revenue jumped 50% year over year (and 9% sequentially) to a record $7.10 billion. Growth was driven by record revenue in the gaming, data center, and professional visualization platforms. EPS on the basis of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) soared 83% year over year to $0.97, and adjusted EPS surged 60% to $1.17.

Wall Street had been looking for fiscal Q3 revenue and adjusted EPS of $6.82 billion and $1.11, respectively, so Nvidia surpassed both expectations.

Platform performance

Here's how the platforms performed last quarter:

DATA SOURCE: NVIDIA. OEM = ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER; NOT A TARGET MARKET PLATFORM. YOY = YEAR OVER YEAR. QOQ = QUARTER OVER QUARTER.

As always, investors should focus on the two largest platforms. Nvidia's overall results are driven by results in its gaming and data center businesses. In the first, second, and third quarters of fiscal 2022, these two platforms together accounted for 85%, 83%, and 87%, respectively, of the company's total revenue.

Don't sweat the results of the OEM and other category

In recent quarters, a contributor to Nvidia's OEM category has been sales of its cryptocurrency mining processor (CMP), which launched in early calendar year 2021. Reiterating what I wrote in last quarter's earnings preview, investors shouldn't pay much attention to results in OEM and other because this category's sales can be expected to fluctuate considerably due to the extreme volatility in the cryptocurrency market.

Putting some numbers next to the prior statement, last quarter, sales of the CMP added $105 million to Nvidia's coffers, down from $266 million in the prior quarter. And on last quarter's earnings call, CFO Colette Kress said, "We also expect our CMP product to decline quarter-on-quarter to very negligible levels in Q4."

But pay attention to the discussion about the metaverse

Nvidia's quarterly earnings calls (and its earnings releases, for that matter) put those of most other companies to shame, so I highly recommend that investors listen to these calls. It's a sure thing that the top management team will discuss the Omniverse, Nvidia's platform for enabling companies to build their metaverses.

Guidance

Management's guidance, relative to Wall Street's expectations, will likely be the biggest factor in the market's reaction to Nvidia's upcoming report.

So investors should know that for the first quarter of fiscal 2023 (essentially the February to April 2022 period), analysts are currently modeling for adjusted EPS of $1.17 on revenue of $7.28 billion, representing year-over-year growth of 29% and 29%, respectively.

Wall Streetās reaction to death of Nvidia-Arm deal

The news that Nvidia Corp. will drop its pursuit of chip designer Arm Ltd. came as no surprise to Wall Street.

The deal was widely regarded as dead back in January, and all that remained was for Nvidia to publicly admit it.

āWe have consistently noted the deal was unlikely to be completed ā a view that we believe was widely accepted ā due to regulatory or competitive factorsā since the deal was announced, Raymond James analyst Chris Caso wrote, a reaction that was repeated over many analyst notes.

Citi Research analyst Atif Malik, who has a buy rating and a $350 price target, also said Wall Street ālargely expected that the deal would not pass regulatory muster,ā while bringing up Nvidiaās plans to move into CPUs, which it had announced at about the same time as the Arm merger.

Analysts say investors gave up on deal long ago, expect that Nvidia will still be able to push into data-center CPUs with Armās help as a partner instead of a subordinate.

āNvidia plans to launch its CPU, Grace, in 2023 and with the 20-year ARM license can pursue this strategy without owning Arm,ā Malik said.

Others echoed that pursuing the deal showed Nvidiaās commitment to play more of a role in the CPU market dominated by Intel Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. with its āGraceā CPU, and that with a 20-year license from Arm, Nvidia didnāt need to own the chip designer to do that.

āWe think the most important part of the initial announcement that Nvidia was pursuing Arm was that it signaled Nvidiaās intention to participate more fully in the CPU market, thereby increasing Nvidiaās [total addressable market],ā said Raymond Jamesā Caso, who has a strong buy on Nvidia.

Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon, who has an outperform rating and a $360 price target, said he doubted anyone expected the deal to close at this point.

āAs far as Nvidia goes, while owning Arm could have been wonderful, we donāt believe they had to have it either,ā Rasgon said. āIn our opinion, the impetus for the deal was to help create and drive a broader ecosystem for Arm particularly in the dataĀ center.ā

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Among the top mid-cap losers in this category isĀ Palantir(NYSE:PLTR). Today,Ā PLTR stock is down more than 5% amid a mass selloff in the markets among high-growth companies.

Notably, for Palantir, this selloff has actually resulted in the data company hitting a fresh 52-week high today. For investors in PLTR stock, 2021 was a rough year overall. It appears 2022 is shaping up to be a similarly difficult year as well.

Investors have largely sold off higher-riskĀ growth stocksĀ en masse lately for a number of reasons. First, interest ratesĀ have been signaled to be on the rise by the Fed. Bond markets have fully priced in a rate hike in March, sending bond yields to their highest levels since the pandemic. Among the top mid-cap losers in this category isĀ Palantir(NYSE:PLTR). Today,Ā PLTR stock is down more than 5% amid a mass selloff in the markets among high-growth companies.Notably, for Palantir, this selloff has actually resulted in the data company hitting a fresh 52-week high today. For investors in PLTR stock, 2021 was a rough year overall. It appears 2022 is shaping up to be a similarly difficult year as well.Investors have largely sold off higher-riskĀ growth stocksĀ en masse lately for a number of reasons. This has driven up mortgage rates, pushing asset values lower and suggesting the party is over in terms of easy money policies. In a bid to combat what could be out of control inflation, the Fed is becoming increasingly hawkish. I don't see any good reason or justification for the sell-off as Palantir will continue to grow its top line rapidly and new service offerings are set to fuel the firm's commercial growth. That Palantir is overvalued, is a myth!

Commercial revenue growth could accelerate as new products launch

There are few industries that have as fantastic growth prospects as the big data and analytics industry. Companies are accumulating more and more data from customers and their operations, requiring software solutions and artificial intelligence support to monetize this data most efficiently.

What am I most excited about, as a Palantir investor, is Palantir's opening of a new growth frontier in the big data world. Palantir will start to roll out its "Foundry for Crypto" in FY 2022 which offers banks, FinTechs and other companies involved in the crypto economy a way to validate customer information and to implement anti-money laundering tools. Since the crypto universe is still highly unregulated, Palantir's Foundry for Crypto could make a big difference in legitimizing this industry.

Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are here to stay and Palantir has a huge opportunity at its hands to develop a multi-million-dollar revenue business within a very short period of time. Key customers for Palantir's Foundry for Crypto are likely going to be financial institutions and crypto trading marketplaces like Coinbase (COIN) which have massive customer bases. Adoption of Palantir's Foundry for Crypto platform by leading market institutions could materially accelerate Palantir's commercial revenue growth.

Because of the opening of a new business segment, I see strong prospects for revenue acceleration for Palantir in the foreseeable future. Palantir's commercial revenue growth accelerated throughout FY 2021 due to strong customer acquisition and growing adoption of the firm's products and services. Palantir's commercial revenue growth accelerated from 19% in Q1'21 to 28% in Q2'21, and then to 37% in Q3'21. Palantir's revenue acceleration in the commercial business was the reason why Palantir raised its free cash flow and revenue guidance for FY 2021. Because the commercial segment is growing increasingly fast, Palantir already raised its free cash flow outlook twice in FY 2021. The firm now expects free cash flow of $400M+ for FY 2021, after raising the guidance by 33% in Q3'21.

Palantir is not overvalued based on expected free cash flow ramp

Palantir's business reached a critical point in FY 2021 and the proof is in the company's growing free cash flow margins. As the firm scales its services and leads more customers through its onboarding process, Palantir should see a significant improvement of its free cash flow margin going forward. Palantir's Q3'21 free cash flow was $119M which calculates to a free cash flow margin of 30%. I believe Palantir could grow its free cash flow margin to 40% by 2025, meaning the firm is set to become a seriously profitable business within the next four years.I also expect Palantir to grow revenues faster than the 30% that have been mentioned as a long-term growth target. The reason for this is that Palantir is signing on more customers and those customers spend more money on the firm's products and services over time, meaningĀ monetization is improving. Assuming that Palantir can grow revenues at an annual 35% rate over the next four years, Palantir is looking at $5.0B in revenues and $2.0B in free cash flow by FY 2025. The calculation belowĀ is built on the assumption that Palantir's free cash flow margin will grow from 30% in FY 2021 to 40% by FY 2025. Over the next four years, Palantir should be able to increase its annual free cash flow by at least a factor of 4 X.And investors should not forget about this potentially massive income streamā¦

The "forgotten" SPAC business

Palantir has come up with aĀ clever revenue growth strategyĀ that combines upside in SPAC investments with long-term software servicing contracts. Palantir is committing investing capital to startups that look to finance growth and, in return, the company gets equity and a signed contract for the provision of its software platforms. I rarely see this business discussed, but it presents considerable valuation upside for Palantir. In Q3'21, the firm's total investments in startups summarized to $226.5M. Palantir only needs one big exit from one of these SPAC investments listed below to generate a massive windfall.Risks with Palantir

The biggest risk for shares of Palantir, as I see it, is continual selling pressure that is the result of a profound misunderstanding related to how the firm's business model works in practice. Palantir's business is evolving and progress is measurable and undeniable. The proof is in Palantir's improving free cash flow margin and accelerating (commercial) revenue growth. Revenues can only accelerate if more companies adopt Palantir's services. Customers are also growing their platform spend, meaning each customer that signs with Palantir is going to have a higher value for the firm in the future, unless they cancel their relationship of course. Since the business had a net customer add of 34 in Q3'21, there is no evidence that customers are unhappy with the services they receive. Palantir's total customer base increased at a massive 20% rate quarter over quarter in Q3'21, proving significant momentum in customer sign-ups.

I am willing to change my opinion on Palantir if the firm's actual revenue growth rates and free cash flow margins drop below my estimates.

Final thoughts

Based off of free cash flow estimates, which do not include pay-offs from SPAC divestments, shares of Palantir trade at 16 X FY 2025 projected free cash flow, assuming a 10 PP FCF margin improvement in the next four years. This margin improvement could result from the launch of new high-margin products like Foundry for Crypto, the accelerating roll-out of Foundry for Builders and higher product spend on a per-customer basis. It is a myth that Palantir is overvalued and the stock has considerable rebound potential in FY 2022!

","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Palantir: The Myth Of Overvaluation
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nPalantir: The Myth Of Overvaluation\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-16 09:09 GMT+8 Seeking Alpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
SummaryPalantir went through a large drop in pricing in Q4ā21 and in the early days of 2022.Shares of Palantir are not overvalued, they trade at 16X FY 2025 projected free cash flow.Commercial revenue...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"PLTR":"Palantir Technologies Inc."},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4479733-palantir-the-myth-of-overvaluation","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5a36db9d73b4222bc376d24ccc48c8a4","article_id":"1169852230","content_text":"SummaryPalantir went through a large drop in pricing in Q4ā21 and in the early days of 2022.Shares of Palantir are not overvalued, they trade at 16X FY 2025 projected free cash flow.Commercial revenue acceleration, new product launches, expansion of the free cash flow margin and potential SPAC deal pay-offs support Palantirās valuation. The new year is just fourteen days old and shares of Palantir (PLTR) already fell 12%, continuing a sell-off that started back in November 2021. It is a myth that Palantir is overvalued and the stock has considerable rebound potential in FY 2022!","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1186,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9002399451,"gmtCreate":1641910557802,"gmtModify":1676533660885,"author":{"id":"3566424657226682","authorId":"3566424657226682","name":"jyan","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/07835420d48114e176a0eb3660be6a50","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566424657226682","authorIdStr":"3566424657226682"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"woah","listText":"woah","text":"woah","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9002399451","repostId":"1152552439","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1152552439","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1641909969,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1152552439?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-11 22:06","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Talon Metals shares jumped 70% in premarket trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1152552439","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"TalonĀ MetalsĀ sharesĀ jumpedĀ 70%Ā inĀ premarketĀ trading.TeslaĀ chooses Talon Metals'Ā Tamarack mine projec","content":"

TalonĀ MetalsĀ sharesĀ jumpedĀ 70%Ā inĀ premarketĀ trading.TeslaĀ chooses Talon Metals'Ā Tamarack mine project in Minnesota for itsĀ first U.S. supply deal for nickelĀ to make electric batteries, citing Talon's process it considers relatively environmentally friendly.

Under the deal terms, Tesla agrees to buy at least 75K metric tons, or ~165M lbs., of nickel in concentrate over six years, conditioned upon Talon earning a 60% interest in the Tamarack project; I don't see any good reason or justification for the sell-off as Palantir will continue to grow its top line rapidly and new service offerings are set to fuel the firm's commercial growth.

Over the next four years, Palantir should be able to increase its annual free cash flow by at least a factor of 4 X.And investors should not forget about this potentially massive income streamā¦The \"forgotten\" SPAC businessPalantir has come up with aĀ clever revenue growth strategyĀ that combines upside in SPAC investments with long-term software servicing contracts. Palantir only needs one big exit from one of these SPAC investments listed below to generate a massive windfall.Risks with PalantirThe biggest risk for shares of Palantir, as I see it, is continual selling pressure that is the result of a profound misunderstanding related to how the firm's business model works in practice. Palantir's total customer base increased at a massive 20% rate quarter over quarter in Q3'21, proving significant momentum in customer sign-ups.I am willing to change my opinion on Palantir if the firm's actual revenue growth rates and free cash flow margins drop below my estimates.Final thoughtsBased off of free cash flow estimates, which do not include pay-offs from SPAC divestments, shares of Palantir trade at 16 X FY 2025 projected free cash flow, assuming a 10 PP FCF margin improvement in the next four years. This margin improvement could result from the launch of new high-margin products like Foundry for Crypto, the accelerating roll-out of Foundry for Builders and higher product spend on a per-customer basis. It is a myth that Palantir is overvalued and the stock has considerable rebound potential in FY 2022!","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1186,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095658146,"gmtCreate":1644905147745,"gmtModify":1676533974451,"author":{"id":"3566424657226682","authorId":"3566424657226682","name":"jyan","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/07835420d48114e176a0eb3660be6a50","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3566424657226682","authorIdStr":"3566424657226682"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"52 wk low, good time to load up more ","listText":"52 wk low, good time to load up more ","text":"52 wk low, good time to load up more","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9095658146","repostId":"1188489965","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1188489965","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1644884966,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1188489965?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-15 08:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Is PLTR Stock a Buy Right Now? 3 Analysts Weigh In on Palantir Price Predictions.","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1188489965","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"Palantir(NYSE:PLTR) stock has not exactly been having a great year, down more than 25% year to date.","content":"

Palantir(NYSE:PLTR) stock has not exactly been having a great year, down more than 25% year to date. Among the top mid-cap losers in this category isĀ Palantir(NYSE:PLTR).

First, interest ratesĀ have been signaled to be on the rise by the Fed. Bond markets have fully priced in a rate hike in March, sending bond yields to their highest levels since the pandemic. This has driven up mortgage rates, pushing asset values lower and suggesting the party is over in terms of easy money policies. In a bid to combat what could be out of control inflation, the Fed is becoming increasingly hawkish. For companies like Palantir that are expected to earn the majority of their cash flows far out into the future, this higher discount rate is not a good thing.

\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
