I am bullish on the stock. When Apple reports its quarterly data, it’s one of the most important events of any earnings season. After all, Apple is a giant in the technology sector.Yet, even an industry giant is bound to have an earnings miss from time to time. The question is: how should investors define a miss? To a large extent, it depends on one’s interpretation of the results.Investors weren’t too happy with Apple’s most recently reported earnings results, but actually, the quarterly data wasn’t bad. Nevertheless, the investing community found some pain points they didn’t like in the conference call.Still, the overall financial picture looks positive for Apple. If the stock price slides further down, this could present an opportunity to pick up some shares at a nice discount.A Company Record$180 has been a stubborn resistance level for AAPL stock since December of 2021. Perhaps the bulls had hoped that Apple’s Fiscal 2022 second-quarter results would be the catalyst to push the stock above $180.However, that didn’t happen, and AAPL stock actually fell moderately after the release of the earnings data. It wasn’t a catastrophic decline, but evidently, investors weren’t pleased. Were the results really all that bad, though? Don’t just look at the price action of AAPL stock and jump to a negative conclusion. It’s important to always read both the press release and the conference call transcript whenever they’re available and form your own conclusions. With all of that in mind, let’s start off with the top-line results for Apple’s second fiscal quarter of 2022. Right at the top of the company’s press release, Apple proudly announced that its quarterly revenue was up 9% year-over-year. Apple also announced that the revenue of $97.3 billion represented a March-quarter revenue record for the company. So far, so good, as they say. Apple CFO Luca Maestri further observed that the company set fresh March-quarter company revenue records for its iPhone, Mac, Wearables, Home, and Accessories segments. Maestri also pointed out, “Continued strong customer demand for our products helped us achieve an all-time high for our installed base of active devices.”In Apple’s conference call, Maestri touted Apple’s 15% year-over-year growth in Mac revenue, driven by strong demand for the company’s M1-powered MacBook Pro. This is great news, as it indicates that Apple isn’t entirely reliant on iPhone sales in the 2020s.Acknowledging the ProblemJudging from these top-line results, it sure sounds like Apple was firing on all cylinders during the fiscal second quarter. What about the company’s bottom-line results, though? No worries there – Apple did just fine. A quarterly datasheet reveals that during the company’s fiscal second quarter of 2022, Apple reported earnings per share (EPS) of $1.52 (diluted). That’s an improvement over the $1.40 recorded in the year-earlier quarter. So, if Apple reported record performance in revenue generation, as well as a year-over-year improvement in EPS, what could investors possibly fret about?Apparently, the issue had to do with Apple’s outlook regarding supply shortages. This is a problem for many technology hardware companies, and Apple is no exception to the rule.In Apple’s conference call, Maestri acknowledged the painful truth concerning tech-component shortages and their likely impact on Apple’s future financial results.“We’re having supply constraints that are caused by the COVID-related disruptions and by the silicon shortages, and that is what is creating the constraints,” Maestri admitted. “We expect them to be in the range of $4 billion to $8 billion. This is substantially larger than what we’ve had during the March quarter,” the CFO added.Sometimes, honesty gets punished in the financial markets. Maestri couldn’t hide what everybody already knows: supply-chain bottlenecks will likely continue to weigh on Apple’s top and bottom lines. Investors might choose to send AAPL stock lower in the short term, but soon they should come back to their senses and return the share price to where I believe it belongs: much higher.Wall Street’s TakeTurning to Wall Street, AAPL is a Strong Buy, based on 20 Buys and four Hold ratings assigned in the past three months. The average Apple price target is $194.05, implying 21.4% upside potential. The TakeawayIt’s a shame that investors will sometimes punish a company just for admitting what people already know. Really, though, honesty is still the best policy, and it’s fine that Apple is acknowledging the likely fiscal impact of supply-chain constraints.AAPL stock immediately fell in after-hours trading following the data release and conference call, and it is currently down 2% on the day. This is a short-term result and doesn’t reflect Apple’s true value as a company.Just remember, the stock market is a weighing machine in the long term, so Apple’s solid fundamentals should be reflected in the share price eventually. Therefore, don’t let short-term price moves shake you out of the trade when it comes to AAPL stock. Apple is still making progress in its revenue and profits and remains a technology-market icon.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":106,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9069374638,"gmtCreate":1651243095416,"gmtModify":1676534876941,"author":{"id":"3567122626731680","authorId":"3567122626731680","name":"Muan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e57898e50017c4ba74bca13a29623eab","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3567122626731680","idStr":"3567122626731680"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Zillow(ZG)$sweat","listText":"$Zillow(ZG)$sweat","text":"$Zillow(ZG)$sweat","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/5bc68737720ed1affe83460da3dc7442","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9069374638","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":295,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9069375576,"gmtCreate":1651242990411,"gmtModify":1676534876932,"author":{"id":"3567122626731680","authorId":"3567122626731680","name":"Muan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e57898e50017c4ba74bca13a29623eab","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3567122626731680","idStr":"3567122626731680"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Q & M DENTAL GROUP (S) LIMITED(QC7.SI)$looks cheap to accumulate now","listText":"$Q & M DENTAL GROUP (S) LIMITED(QC7.SI)$looks cheap to accumulate now","text":"$Q & M DENTAL GROUP (S) LIMITED(QC7.SI)$looks cheap to accumulate now","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/7129c02438718905318d13c6b703176a","width":"1080","height":"3183"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9069375576","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":53,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9069376769,"gmtCreate":1651242884334,"gmtModify":1676534876888,"author":{"id":"3567122626731680","authorId":"3567122626731680","name":"Muan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e57898e50017c4ba74bca13a29623eab","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3567122626731680","idStr":"3567122626731680"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gogoa","listText":"Gogoa","text":"Gogoa","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9069376769","repostId":"1199070862","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1199070862","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1651241437,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1199070862?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-29 22:10","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Sea and Grab Stocks Jumped More Than 7% in Morning Trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1199070862","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Sea and Grab stocks jumped more than 7% in morning trading.TWO Singapore-based consortia are among o","content":"

Sea and Grab stocks jumped more than 7% in morning trading.

TWO Singapore-based consortia are among one of the 5 winners that bagged Malaysia’s digital bank licences.

According to Bank Negara Malaysia on Apr 29, a consortium led by GXS Bank and Kuok Brothers, and another consortium led by Sea Limited and YTL Digital Capital, were among the 5 winners.

GXS Bank is a Grab-Singtel consortium, while the New York Stock Exchange-listed Sea Limited is the parent company of e-commerce platform Shopee. This process may take between 12 and 24 months. With the award of digital bank licences, the central bank’s governor Nor Shamsiah expects the digital bank operators to further advance the country’s financial inclusion.“By adopting digital technology more widely for everyday transactions, we can significantly increase opportunities for our society to participate in the economy - by overcoming geographical barriers, reducing transaction costs and promoting better financial management,” she said in a media statement.“Digital banks can help individuals and businesses gain better access to more personalised solutions backed by data analytics. As businesses move online, digital banking also provides a safer and a more convenient way to transact,” she added.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":221,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9060294679,"gmtCreate":1651151790507,"gmtModify":1676534859346,"author":{"id":"3567122626731680","authorId":"3567122626731680","name":"Muan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e57898e50017c4ba74bca13a29623eab","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3567122626731680","idStr":"3567122626731680"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9060294679","repostId":"9060643488","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":9060643488,"gmtCreate":1651145491351,"gmtModify":1676534858442,"author":{"id":"9000000000000513","authorId":"9000000000000513","name":"LeilaLynch","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e32612860d02f31ae6eb923f14c61b63","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"9000000000000513","idStr":"9000000000000513"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Visa(V)$ Big resistance at the 230 mark. At RH's all-time high last year, the value of that small investment would have been briefly worth $24,000. The recent drop in the share price could be a great opportunity to start a position in the fast-growing luxury furniture brand.

RH is led by visionary CEO Gary Friedman. The company has expanded its luxurious furniture offerings to include a wide collection of solutions for different spaces, including RH Modern, RH Beach House, RH Ski House, RH Rugs, and more.

Worries over supply-chain issues and inflationary costs have hit the stock hard. The shares are down 55% from their highs, but news of a three-for-one stock split and a better-than-expected earnings report at the end of March has investors feeling more upbeat.

Indeed, RH reported a revenue increase of 11% year over year in the fiscal fourth quarter. That looks quite strong considering the economic headwinds. The Russia-Ukraine war is an additional headwind. The company cited some softening in demand to start the quarter in relation to that, but management's guidance still calls for revenue to grow between 7% and 8% in the first quarter.

Investors don't have to pay much for growth. At a price-to-earnings ratio of 15, this growth retail stock is a great value at these levels. If the investment by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is any indication, RH still has many years of growth in store.

Netflix

In 2012, Netflix was transitioning from DVD-by-mail to streaming. It launched its first original series House of Cards in early 2013. A $1,000 investment in early 2012 would be worth $23,000 even after the recent drop in the stock price.

Wall Street has turned a cold shoulder to the leader in streaming after Netflix reported decelerating subscriber growth throughout 2021. Subscriber growth clocked in at 8.9% in the fourth quarter, which is a far cry from the 20%-plus rates it was posting through 2020.

Still, Netflix is not done growing by a long shot. There are still plenty of connected TVs around the world without Netflix. The Motion Picture Association reported that the number of streaming subscribers globally grew 14% in 2021 to reach 1.3 billion. That is a nice tailwind for Netflix, sitting at 222 million subscribers. Ultimately, Netflix's vast library of content should help the service win more share of that massive global market.

Streaming stocks are still attractive long-term investments. Soon, Tesla will have a fourth factory open in Berlin. Even though the original opening date of July 1 is no longer on the table due to myriad reasons, it will ultimately produce millions of electric vehicles (EVs) for willing European buyers.
\n
The company has added a battery cell production component to the plant outside Berlin. It will produce 500 million cells annually representing 50 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy, 25% higher than Volkswagen’s(OTCMKTS:VWAGY) planned facility a couple hundred miles away.
\n
Across the pond in Texas, the company’s fifth so-called Gigafactory is getting closer to being ready for production. This plant will produce an updated version of the Model Y using “mega casting” technology to speed up the production process while delivering a lighter vehicle at the same time. It currently uses this technology at its plant in Shanghai.
\n
Tesla has afree cash flow (FCF) marginof 22.3% based on $35.94 billion in trailing-12-month revenue.
\n
KB Home (KBH)
\n
The largest homebuilders in America are having trouble keeping up with demand at the moment. At least for now, KB Home is meeting the demand from customers, 64% of which were first-time buyers in the latest quarter.
\n
“Operationally, our divisions are doing an excellent job of navigating this environment of demand strength and well-publicized supply chain constraints as we effectively balanced pace, price and starts to optimize our assets and manage our production,” said KB Home CEO Jeff Mezger in the Q2 2021 conference call.
\n
KB Home is so busy that the number of homes started in Q1 2021 and Q2 2021 was equivalent to 75% of the number of homes started for 2020. As a result, it expects to deliver $6 billion in housing revenue in 2021 at the midpoint of guidance, with operating margins between 11.5% and 12.0%.
\n
KB Home has anFCF margin of 6.5%based on $4.78 billion in trailing 12-month revenue.
\n
Palantir Technologies (PLTR)
\n
Palantir has been a public company for less than a year. The provider of data analytics software platforms for government agencies, corporations, and other large institutions, sold no shares last September when directly listedon the NYSE.
\n
The reference price was $7.25. PLTR stock is up 277.7% through the start of June 29.
\n
Not only is it growing its business — in the latest quarter, itsU.S. commercial revenuegrew 72% year-over-year while its U.S. government revenue jumped 83% YOY — it is also busy investing in other tech companies looking to go public.
\n
For example, it has invested in six private investments in public equity (PIPE) in the past three months. These PIPEs are part of the ongoing interest in special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). Palantir invests in the PIPEs to gain financial returns and collaborate with these companies, which use its data analytic tools for their businesses.
\n
I’m not 100% sold on Palantir just yet, but it’s a good long-term buy compared to some of the Reddit stocks on this list.
\n
Palantir has anFCF margin of 9%based on $1.2 billion in trailing 12-month revenue.
\n
Clean Energy Fuels(CLNE)
\n
Back in February,I recommended CLNE. At the time, it was trading around $12.97. It was one of seven stocks to buy under $20. As I write this, it’s just under $11, so it’s lost ground over the past four months.
\n
I liked Clean Energy for several reasons.
\n
First, it provides three kinds of natural gas fuel for commercial trucks: compressed (CNG), liquified (LNG), and renewable (RNG). It’s the only fuel provider to do so. Secondly, RNG fuel enables trucking companies to deliver their services while getting close to or achieving carbon negative status. Third, it’s got fueling stations in 43 states and Canada. Lastly, it’s got deep pockets.Total(OTCMKTS:TTFNF) owns 25% of its stock.
\n
Oh, and as I said in February, from an adjusted EBITDA basis (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization), it makes money while also growing revenues at a steady pace.
\n
In the meantime, Clean Energy has anFCF margin of 24.2%based on $283 million in trailing 12-month revenue.
\n
BlackBerry (BB)
\n
I can remember when President Barack Obama first entered the White House in January 2009. The BlackBerry was considered the cat’s meow when it came to mobile phones. By the time he left office in January 2017, it was in the dustbin of history.
\n
Now supplying security software to automobile manufacturers and other enterprises and governments worldwide — a research firm recently said its QNX software is installed in195 million vehicles worldwide — the Reddit crowd have taken to the Waterloo, Ontario-based tech company.
\n
Things have turned around for BlackBerry.
\n
At least, enough so to provide CEO John Chen with a handsome compensation package. Proxy advisory firm Glass Lewis recently blasted the company, suggesting its compensation plan had no relation to its overall corporate performance.
\n
As a result of the January Reddit rally, which saw BB stock move from $6.70 at the beginning of the month to a 52-week high of $28.77 by the end, Chen could receive as much as $206 million in cash and stock compensation from the long-term incentives issued in 2019.
\n
On a GAAP basis,BlackBerry still loses money. That said, the pivot it’s made to software has given it another shot at tech stardom. We’ll see if it gain regain its former glory from the Obama years.
\n
In the meantime, BlackBerry has anFCF margin of 9.3%based on $861 million in trailing 12-month revenue.
\n
Workhorse Group (WKHS)
\n
The last time I wrote about Workhorse Group was in late April. At the time, it was trading around $12.50. I argued that if it got the backlog of 8,000 commercial electric vehicle delivery trucks out the door over the next 12 to 24 months, it would have an ultra-low price-to-sales ratio of 4.2.
\n
Long story short, if it did, its stock would be worth more than $12.50.
\n
Well, on June 16, Workhorse officially protested the United States Postal Service awarding the estimated $6 billion contract to manufacture its next-generation delivery vehicle to Oshkosh(NYSE:OSK). The news pushed WKHS to $17.54 at the start of June 29.
\n
InvestorPlace’s Dana Blankenhorn recently discussed Workhorse. He believes that the company was in the commercial EV game to ride on the coattails of big guns like Ford(NYSE:F) and General Motors(NYSE:GM). That’s not the craziest theory in the world.
\n
In the latest quarter, Workhorse delivered six trucks to customers and generated $521,000 in revenue. It plans to produce 1,000 trucks in 2021. It will have to pick up the pace if it wants to reach that goal. In the meantime, investors can expect its quarterly losses to accelerate as we make our way through the year.
\n
Workhorse has an FCF margin of -5,320.2% based on $1.83 million in trailing 12-month revenue. It is for speculative investors only.
\n
AMC Entertainment (AMC)
\n
AMC is a stock that I’m conflicted about.
\n
On the one hand, I believe that Americans will return to movie theaters in large numbers come fall. That will likely return the chain to pre-Covid revenue numbers. On the other hand, it has a burdensome debt load.
\n
Despite using the Reddit surge to raise much-needed cash to repay some of this debt — on June 3, it announced it would sell 11.55 million shares at the market to bring in another $600 million— it still has $11.05 billion owed, or 37.6% of its vastly overvalued market capitalization of $29.4 billion.
\n
Former E*Trade CEO Karl Roessner appeared on CNBC in early June. While he commended AMC management for selling shares when prices were high, the company is not worth $28 billion.
\n
“Absent some serious strategic undertakings by that company, it’s still just not worth what it’s trading for right now,” Roessner stated.
\n
I couldn’t agree more.
\n
AMC has anFCF margin of -280%based on $449 million in trailing 12-month revenue.
\n
ContextLogic (WISH)
\n
In February, I wrote an article about the e-commerce site with the headline“ContextLogic Has Nothing to Do With Retail”.I didn’t understand the composition of its board. It had no retail experience on its board to oversee the CEO.
\n
“If ContextLogic’s goal is to beat Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) at discount e-commerce apparel, its board of directors is a sure sign that’s not what it’s after,” I said.
\n
I finished the article by stating I didn’t get an inspirational vibe from Context Logic’s board of directors. In the four months since, WISH has lost 49% of its value and trades well below its IPO price of $24.
\n
ContextLogic has anFCF margin of -8%based on $2.87 billion in trailing 12-month revenue. I’m really not sure what Redditors see in this one.
\n
Globalstar (GSAT)
\n
Not everyone thinks the provider of mobile satellite services is a bad bet.
\n
B. Riley analyst Mike Crawford initiated coverage of Globalstar on June 21. The analyst gives it a “buy” rating and a $3.25 target price, double where it’s currently trading. He estimates that the company’s C-Band spectrum could be worth as much as $15 billion. Based on 1.79 billion shares outstanding, that’s $8.38 a share, considerably higher than the analyst’s target price.
\n
From where I sit, the fact that it’s currently trading at a price-to-sales ratio of 25.39 and not making money on a GAAP basis makes it very hard for me to get behind the company.
\n
However, Globalstar does have one big ace up its sleeve.
\n
On page 87 of its 2020 10-K, you will see that it had $1.8 billion in U.S. net operating loss (NOL) carryforwards with less than 1% expiring before 2025. It has an additional $200 million in foreign NOL carryforwards. So, should it start generating significant profits — that’s still very much up in the air — the loss carryforwards will shield the company’s earnings from taxes for the foreseeable future.
\n
Globalstar has anFCF margin of 18%based on $123 million in trailing 12-month revenue.
\n
Clover Health (CLOV)
\n
They say timing is everything.
\n
In early June, I wrote an article about the healthcare technology company, which uses data to provide healthcare plans for more than 130,000 Americans. At the time, I felt like there was a fair bit of upside resistance at $10.
\n
While I wouldn’t buy the money-losing stock, a patient investor with a higher than average risk tolerance would be wise to buy around $9, or hopefully less. And then came the June 8 Reddit-induced short squeeze, doubling CLOV’s share price within hours.
\n
“By afternoon trading [June 8], Clover had already traded over 650 million shares, 30 times more than its 30-day average volume of 22 million shares, according to FactSet,”CNBC‘s Yun Lireported. “By the closing bell on Wall Street, more than 720 million shares had changed hands.”
\n
CLOV stock closed June 7 trading at $11.92. By 4 p.m. the next day, it was over $22.
\n
In my article, I mentioned the investing lesson a 17-year-old learned about managing your expectations when playing with real money. I really hope he was able to sell his call options in the June surge. If not, the shares have still doubled from a month ago.
\n
Overall, it’s down slightly from its first day of trading on Jan. 8.
\n
Clover has anFCF margin of -24.2%based on $721 million in trailing 12-month revenue.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Which of the 10 Most Talked About Reddit Stocks Is Worth a Buy?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhich of the 10 Most Talked About Reddit Stocks Is Worth a Buy?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-30 17:20 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Like all investments, there are good Reddit stocks, and bad ones\nSource: Marcus Krauss / Shutterstock.com\nI must admit, when I was given this assignment my first thought was I’m the last guy to be ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"特斯拉","CLOV":"Clover Health Corp","CLNE":"Clean Energy Fuels Corp","PLTR":"Palantir Technologies Inc.","WKHS":"Workhorse Group, Inc.","AMC":"AMC院线","BB":"黑莓","GSAT":"全球星","KBH":"KB Home"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2021/06/which-of-the-10-most-talked-about-reddit-stocks-is-worth-a-buy/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1150186389","content_text":"Like all investments, there are good Reddit stocks, and bad ones\nSource: Marcus Krauss / Shutterstock.com\nI must admit, when I was given this assignment my first thought was I’m the last guy to be talking about Reddit stocks. We’ll see if it gain regain its former glory from the Obama years.\nIn the meantime, BlackBerry has anFCF margin of 9.3%based on $861 million in trailing 12-month revenue.\nWorkhorse Group (WKHS)\nThe last time I wrote about Workhorse Group was in late April. At the time, it was trading around $12.50. I argued that if it got the backlog of 8,000 commercial electric vehicle delivery trucks out the door over the next 12 to 24 months, it would have an ultra-low price-to-sales ratio of 4.2.\nLong story short, if it did, its stock would be worth more than $12.50.\nWell, on June 16, Workhorse officially protested the United States Postal Service awarding the estimated $6 billion contract to manufacture its next-generation delivery vehicle to Oshkosh(NYSE:OSK). The news pushed WKHS to $17.54 at the start of June 29.\nInvestorPlace’s Dana Blankenhorn recently discussed Workhorse. He believes that the company was in the commercial EV game to ride on the coattails of big guns like Ford(NYSE:F) and General Motors(NYSE:GM). That’s not the craziest theory in the world.\nIn the latest quarter, Workhorse delivered six trucks to customers and generated $521,000 in revenue. It plans to produce 1,000 trucks in 2021. It will have to pick up the pace if it wants to reach that goal. In the meantime, investors can expect its quarterly losses to accelerate as we make our way through the year.\nWorkhorse has an FCF margin of -5,320.2% based on $1.83 million in trailing 12-month revenue. It is for speculative investors only.\nAMC Entertainment (AMC)\nAMC is a stock that I’m conflicted about.\nOn the one hand, I believe that Americans will return to movie theaters in large numbers come fall. That will likely return the chain to pre-Covid revenue numbers. On the other hand, it has a burdensome debt load.\nDespite using the Reddit surge to raise much-needed cash to repay some of this debt — on June 3, it announced it would sell 11.55 million shares at the market to bring in another $600 million— it still has $11.05 billion owed, or 37.6% of its vastly overvalued market capitalization of $29.4 billion.\nFormer E*Trade CEO Karl Roessner appeared on CNBC in early June. While he commended AMC management for selling shares when prices were high, the company is not worth $28 billion.\n“Absent some serious strategic undertakings by that company, it’s still just not worth what it’s trading for right now,” Roessner stated.\nI couldn’t agree more.\nAMC has anFCF margin of -280%based on $449 million in trailing 12-month revenue.\nContextLogic (WISH)\nIn February, I wrote an article about the e-commerce site with the headline“ContextLogic Has Nothing to Do With Retail”.I didn’t understand the composition of its board. It had no retail experience on its board to oversee the CEO.\n“If ContextLogic’s goal is to beat Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) at discount e-commerce apparel, its board of directors is a sure sign that’s not what it’s after,” I said.\nI finished the article by stating I didn’t get an inspirational vibe from Context Logic’s board of directors. In the four months since, WISH has lost 49% of its value and trades well below its IPO price of $24.\nContextLogic has anFCF margin of -8%based on $2.87 billion in trailing 12-month revenue. I’m really not sure what Redditors see in this one.\nGlobalstar (GSAT)\nNot everyone thinks the provider of mobile satellite services is a bad bet.\nB. Riley analyst Mike Crawford initiated coverage of Globalstar on June 21. The analyst gives it a “buy” rating and a $3.25 target price, double where it’s currently trading. He estimates that the company’s C-Band spectrum could be worth as much as $15 billion. Based on 1.79 billion shares outstanding, that’s $8.38 a share, considerably higher than the analyst’s target price.\nFrom where I sit, the fact that it’s currently trading at a price-to-sales ratio of 25.39 and not making money on a GAAP basis makes it very hard for me to get behind the company.\nHowever, Globalstar does have one big ace up its sleeve.\nOn page 87 of its 2020 10-K, you will see that it had $1.8 billion in U.S. net operating loss (NOL) carryforwards with less than 1% expiring before 2025. It has an additional $200 million in foreign NOL carryforwards. So, should it start generating significant profits — that’s still very much up in the air — the loss carryforwards will shield the company’s earnings from taxes for the foreseeable future.\nGlobalstar has anFCF margin of 18%based on $123 million in trailing 12-month revenue.\nClover Health (CLOV)\nThey say timing is everything.\nIn early June, I wrote an article about the healthcare technology company, which uses data to provide healthcare plans for more than 130,000 Americans. At the time, I felt like there was a fair bit of upside resistance at $10.\nWhile I wouldn’t buy the money-losing stock, a patient investor with a higher than average risk tolerance would be wise to buy around $9, or hopefully less. And then came the June 8 Reddit-induced short squeeze, doubling CLOV’s share price within hours.\n“By afternoon trading [June 8], Clover had already traded over 650 million shares, 30 times more than its 30-day average volume of 22 million shares, according to FactSet,”CNBC‘s Yun Lireported. “By the closing bell on Wall Street, more than 720 million shares had changed hands.”\nCLOV stock closed June 7 trading at $11.92. By 4 p.m. the next day, it was over $22.\nIn my article, I mentioned the investing lesson a 17-year-old learned about managing your expectations when playing with real money. I really hope he was able to sell his call options in the June surge. If not, the shares have still doubled from a month ago.\nOverall, it’s down slightly from its first day of trading on Jan. 8.\nClover has anFCF margin of -24.2%based on $721 million in trailing 12-month revenue.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":124,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9089041485,"gmtCreate":1649938028265,"gmtModify":1676534610765,"author":{"id":"3567122626731680","authorId":"3567122626731680","name":"Muan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e57898e50017c4ba74bca13a29623eab","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567122626731680","authorIdStr":"3567122626731680"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$SEA LTD(SE)$low tide","listText":"$SEA LTD(SE)$low tide","text":"$SEA LTD(SE)$low tide","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/b8655b62039e276b5387cf969ce8a6e7","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9089041485","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":356,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":327502025,"gmtCreate":1616106548867,"gmtModify":1704790963502,"author":{"id":"3567122626731680","authorId":"3567122626731680","name":"Muan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e57898e50017c4ba74bca13a29623eab","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567122626731680","authorIdStr":"3567122626731680"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Noted","listText":"Noted","text":"Noted","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/327502025","repostId":"2120163660","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2120163660","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1616078340,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2120163660?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-18 22:39","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"The Fed plans to keep interest rates low -- so why do interest rates keep rising?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2120163660","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"Mortgage rates are now at the highest point since June and could go even higher even if the Federal ","content":"
Mortgage rates are now at the highest point since June and could go even higher even if the Federal Reserve doesn't change its policy

The Federal Reserve is planning to stay the course in keeping interest rates low -- but that isn't necessarily music to home buyers' ears.

On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve signaled that it won't raise interest rates until 2023 at the earliest, even though some observers have voiced concerns about rising inflation. I've driven a lot of electric cars and that's nice,\" said the high school auto shop teacher. \"It was like a rocket ship.\"\nNierman, 54, is one of tens of thousands of people expected to attend the five-day event, which is the first major auto show in the country since the coronavirus pandemicbegan in spring 2020.\nIt's not a typical Chicago Auto Show. It's about half the size and time of a traditional show, but automakers such asFord Motor,Volkswagenand others are trying to make the most of it. That includes showcasing new electric vehicles.\nAside from displaying vehicles inside the McCormick Place Convention Center, automakers are offering test drives and rides in new electric vehicles. Auto executives believe such experiential marketing efforts are one of the key first steps to increasing EV adoption.\n\"A lot of consumers haven't had that opportunity because of Covid,\" Ford Chief Marketing Officer Suzy Deering said about experiencing the Mach-E. \"With Mach-E, people are blown away.\"\nFord was among the automakers most impacted regarding vehicle launches, including the Mach-E,during the pandemic. An ongoing semiconductor chip shortage also has emptied many dealer lots, making it difficult for consumers to experience new vehicles.\nDeering said getting consumers into the Mach-E and allowing them to see new EVs suchas the Ford F-150 Lightning pickup, which is expected to go on sale next year, is critical for people to understand that EVs are real and not science projects.\n\"There's misperceptions about EVs and there's also, candidly, just no perceptions, right? U.S. Bancorp shares are down about 10.7% so far in 2022.

Buffett first invested in U.S. Bancorp way back in the first quarter of 2006. [ECILT/US]
\n
Ninety percent of economists, or 36 of 40, in response to an additional question in the July 12-15 Reuters poll on the U.S. economy, said Biden would choose the status quo.
\n
\"It's (Powell's reappointment) likely at this point. Powell does have some strong competition, in particular from Lael Brainard, one of his colleagues as governor. She's the second most likely, but Powell is the favorite right now,\" said James Sweeney, chief economist at Credit Suisse.
\n
Jim O'Sullivan, chief U.S. macro strategist at TD Securities, agrees.
\n
\"I guess it's like a tradition. If you're seen as doing a decent job for continuity then the president kind of re-appoints, even if it was a president of a different party that appointed him in the first place,\" he said.
\n
In congressional hearings this week Powell pledged \"powerful support\" to complete the economic recovery from the pandemic and said the Fed should stay focused on getting as many people back to work as possible. He also said the sudden spike in inflation was transitory.
\n
Powell's focus on jobs has won praise from the Biden administration and among the broader community of Democratic policy analysts. A private equity lawyer promoted to Fed chair by Republican President Donald Trump, he has also won early endorsements for a second term from some congressional Republicans.
\n
But those same hearings saw sharp questioning from members of both parties, offering an overview of the issues likely to frame debate over Powell's future. [ECILT/US]\nNinety percent of economists, or 36 of 40, in response to an additional question in the July 12-15 Reuters poll on the U.S. economy, said Biden would choose the status quo.\n\"It's (Powell's reappointment) likely at this point. Powell does have some strong competition, in particular from Lael Brainard, one of his colleagues as governor. She's the second most likely, but Powell is the favorite right now,\" said James Sweeney, chief economist at Credit Suisse.\nJim O'Sullivan, chief U.S. macro strategist at TD Securities, agrees.\n\"I guess it's like a tradition. If you're seen as doing a decent job for continuity then the president kind of re-appoints, even if it was a president of a different party that appointed him in the first place,\" he said.\nIn congressional hearings this week Powell pledged \"powerful support\" to complete the economic recovery from the pandemic and said the Fed should stay focused on getting as many people back to work as possible. He also said the sudden spike in inflation was transitory.\nPowell's focus on jobs has won praise from the Biden administration and among the broader community of Democratic policy analysts. A private equity lawyer promoted to Fed chair by Republican President Donald Trump, he has also won early endorsements for a second term from some congressional Republicans.\nBut those same hearings saw sharp questioning from members of both parties, offering an overview of the issues likely to frame debate over Powell's future. Republicans said they were worried recent high inflation might endure, and that Powell may be taking too lax an approach to it; some Democrats argued he has not been tough enough on large Wall Street banks.\nA shift in the Fed's top job would come as the central bank is laying plans to phase out $120 billion in monthly bond purchases and handle the political debate around rising inflation pressure, both sensitive and potentially market-disrupting discussions.\nFour economists in the Reuters poll said Biden would not reappoint Powell, with two of those predicting Lael Brainard, a member of the central bank's Board of Governors, would take over.\n\"It is a very close call. Powell has done a good job and works well with the U.S. Treasury, but we would not be surprised to see Joe Biden look to strengthen diversity at senior levels,\" said James Knightley, chief international economist at ING.\nU.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Powell were set to discuss the red-hot housing market and its risks with fellow regulators on Friday, to make sure the country is not vulnerable to a crash similar to the financial crisis in 2008.\nA sudden relapse in house prices could pose another serious threat to the economy. Well, according to Curvature's repo guru Scott Skyrm, as of this moment the market does not appear to be expecting an IOER hike by the Fed next week, meaning that consensus expected Powell & Co. to do nothing to ease the record liquidity parked at the Fed.
\n
As the Curvature strategist wrote in a Tuesday note, \"the market is pricing two things from the Fed. First, it's pricing the first tightening in 2023 - according to the fed funds futures contracts [graph upper right]. Too far out to even guess the month! Second, the market is pricing the GC/fed funds spread to gradually narrow over the next year. Whereas GC is averaging between 5 and 6 basis points below fed funds now, it's expected to trade flat to fed funds within a year.\"
\n
As Skyrm concludes, \"there are only two possible Fed \"technical adjustments\" that can raise Repo rates: QE tapering and an RRP rate increase. An increase in the IOER would raise both fed funds and Repo GC, so we could say the market is NOT pricing an IOER increase.\"
\n
One final reason why the Fed is almost guaranteed to do nothing to administered rates and allow the liquidity glut to keep rising is that as the Fed's new whisperer at the WSJ, Michael Darby wrote yesterday \"Fed Is Fine With Reverse Repos Nearing Half a Trillion\" in which he wrote:
\n
\n Many market participants have looked at the reverse repo activity with some unease. Financial firms have been willing to take the zero percent the Fed offers them through the facility in large part because there are few other short-term investments available, and in some cases, these private market investments actually cost money to invest in. That makes the Fed’s zero percent repo rate attractive on a relative basis.“The system is working exactly as designed,” New York Fed President John Williams said in a video interview on Yahoo Finance last Thursday. The reverse repo facility, he added, is “working really well and the fact that funds are flowing between the banking system and our overnight reverse repos, this is kind of how we would expect that to happen” given the level of money coursing through short-term markets. The growing use of the reverse repo facility follows Lorie Logan, who manages the Fed’s massive $7.9 trillion holdings of cash and securities, having said recently that the central bank would rely on it more and expand the number of firms that could access it. The timing of that shift lined up with the wall of cash that started flowing to the Fed.What is happening at the reverse repo facility doesn’t have much of a broader economic impact. Meanwhile, central bankers have become confident enough in the general health of financial markets to debate pulling back on their $120 billion a month in bond buying stimulus.\n
\n
But as confident as the NY Fed's career academic head, Williams, is, someexpertmarket participants are anxious. “That amount of cash flowing into the Fed is not healthy for the repo market,” said the abovementioned Scott Skyrm; He thinks the Fed needs to scale back its bond purchases, which he deemed the “most obvious and most effective way to bring cash back into the market” and out of the Fed’s balance sheet.
\n
Alas, it now appears that won't happen. And so, with the Fed facility set to keep rising, the question is will we hit $1 trillion in inert liquidity at the Fed before the Fed does agree that someone is wrong, or will an amount of cash greater than the market cap of bitcoin and ethereum remain frozen inside some Fed server...
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Whereas GC is averaging between 5 and 6 basis points below fed funds now, it's expected to trade flat to fed funds within a year.\"\nAs Skyrm concludes, \"there are only two possible Fed \"technical adjustments\" that can raise Repo rates: QE tapering and an RRP rate increase.An increase in the IOER would raise both fed funds and Repo GC, so we could say the market is NOT pricing an IOER increase.\"\nOne final reason why the Fed is almost guaranteed to do nothing to administered rates and allow the liquidity glut to keep rising is that as the Fed's new whisperer at the WSJ, Michael Darby wrote yesterday \"Fed Is Fine With Reverse Repos Nearing Half a Trillion\" in which he wrote:\n\n Many market participants have looked at the reverse repo activity with some unease. Financial firms have been willing to take the zero percent the Fed offers them through the facility in large part because there are few other short-term investments available, and in some cases, these private market investments actually cost money to invest in. That makes the Fed’s zero percent repo rate attractive on a relative basis.“The system is working exactly as designed,” New York Fed President John Williams said in a video interview on Yahoo Finance last Thursday. The reverse repo facility, he added, is “working really well and the fact that funds are flowing between the banking system and our overnight reverse repos, this is kind of how we would expect that to happen” given the level of money coursing through short-term markets.The growing use of the reverse repo facility follows Lorie Logan, who manages the Fed’s massive $7.9 trillion holdings of cash and securities, having said recently that the central bank would rely on it more and expand the number of firms that could access it. The timing of that shift lined up with the wall of cash that started flowing to the Fed.What is happening at the reverse repo facility doesn’t have much of a broader economic impact. Meanwhile, central bankers have become confident enough in the general health of financial markets to debate pulling back on their $120 billion a month in bond buying stimulus.\n\nBut as confident as the NY Fed's career academic head, Williams, is, someexpertmarket participants are anxious. “That amount of cash flowing into the Fed is not healthy for the repo market,” said the abovementioned Scott Skyrm; He thinks the Fed needs to scale back its bond purchases, which he deemed the “most obvious and most effective way to bring cash back into the market” and out of the Fed’s balance sheet.\nAlas, it now appears that won't happen. And so, with the Fed facility set to keep rising, the question is will we hit $1 trillion in inert liquidity at the Fed before the Fed does agree that someone is wrong, or will an amount of cash greater than the market cap of bitcoin and ethereum remain frozen inside some Fed server...","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":14,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
