This is thanks to a $1.5 billion investment into the cryptocurrency from electric vehicle titan Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). It is one of the latest large tech companies to not only invest in but eventually start acceptingBitcoinas payment. In fact, there have even been speculations of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) being well-positioned to join the cryptocurrency craze as well. How does this connect to fintech stocks?
\n
Well, to begin with, fintech companies are the bridge that allows most of the general public access to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Alternatively, they are also key players in this current age of digital finance. Whatever way you cut it, the fintech industry is becoming more essential and is here to stay for the long run. Meanwhile, more conventional top fintech stocks like Mastercard (NYSE: MA) and American Express (NYSE: AXP) have mostly seen their shares recover to pre-pandemic levels. Therefore, investors would be logical in looking for thebest fintech stocks now. Having read till this point, you might be interested in investing in this industry yourself. If you are, here are four fintech stocks to consider now.
\n
Top Fintech Stocks To Watch
\n
\n
Mogo Inc.(NASDAQ: MOGO)
\n
PayPal Holdings Inc.(NASDAQ: PYPL)
\n
Square Inc.(NYSE: SQ)
\n
Green Dot Corporation(NYSE: GDOT)
\n
\n
Mogo Inc.
\n
Starting us off is Canadian fintech company Mogo. It offers a wide range of financial services ranging from personal loans, mortgages, a Visa Prepaid Card, and credit score viewing. More importantly, the company also facilitates Bitcoin transactions. This particular service has exploded together with the price of the cryptocurrency over the last month. Mogo saw massive month-over-month jumps of 141% in new Bitcoin accounts added and 323% in Bitcoin transaction volume in January. Likewise, MOGO stock is currently up by over 160% year-to-date. Aside from Bitcoin-related tailwinds, the company has also been hard at work expanding its financial portfolio.
\n
For starters, Mogo acquired leading digital payments solutions provider Carta Worldwide, over two weeks ago. This move expanded Mogo’s addressable market by entering the global $2.5 trillion payments market. Following that, the company expanded into Japan last week via Carta. According to Mogo, this move was in support of the TransferWise multi-currency debit card launch in the country. With this move, Mogo continues to expand its market reach globally and seems eager to make the most of its newly acquired subsidiary. With the company firing on all cylinders now, will you be watching MOGO stock?
\n
PayPal Holdings Inc.
\n
Following that, we will be looking at fintech giant, PayPal. Just like our other entries on this list, the company does facilitate cryptocurrency transactions for its clients. Last week, PayPal reported record figures across the board. For its fourth quarter, the company saw a total payment volume (TPV) of $277 billion, a 39% increase year-over-year. Furthermore, the company’s earnings per share more than tripled over the same time as well. In detail, TPVs across its merchant services and Venmo app grew by 42% and 60% respectively. With PayPal riding both Bitcoin and pandemic tailwinds, PYPL stock continues to soar to greater heights. It has gained by over 230% since the March lows and closed yesterday at a record high. Investors may be wondering if it still has room to run moving forward.
\n
For one thing, the company does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Yesterday, it announced a new collaboration with global commerce solutions provider Digital River (DR). To summarize, PayPal now has a new ‘pay later’ option available to U.S. clients on DR’s e-commerce platform. The “Pay in 4” feature will allow customers to pay for items priced from $30 to $600 across four interest-free payments. Simultaneously, merchants get paid upfront at no additional cost to the customer. As PayPal continues to make waves in the fintech space, could PYPL stock continue to flourish this year? You tell me.
\n
Square Inc.
\n
Another top fintech company on the radar now would be Square. Aside from its Bitcoin-related services, the leading fintech player does bring a lot to the table. Whether it is financial solutions, merchant services, or mobile payment, Square’s offerings compete with the best in the field. For the uninitiated, the company markets software and hardware payments products to businesses of all sizes. At the same time, its consumer-focused digital payment ecosystem, Cash App, has also seen mind-blowing growth in the past year. Square reported having 30 million monthly active users on the app which generated over $2 billion in revenue in its recent quarter. Seasoned investors would be familiar with the meteoric rise of the company. Indeed, SQ stock has and continues to impress with gains of over 200% in the past year. With the current focus on fintech, could investors continue to find more value in SQ stock?
\n
Well, it has been posting phenomenal figures on the business side of things. In its third-quarter fiscal reported in November, it saw a year-over-year surge of 139% in total revenue and 246% in cash on hand. Specifically, Cash App’s gross profit skyrocketed by 212% year-over-year. All things considered, will you be watching SQ stock ahead of Square’s upcomingearnings callon February 23?
\n
Green Dot Corporation
\n
Undoubtedly, Green Dot is a fintech industry-veteran that should not be overlooked. As it stands, Green Dot is the world’s largest prepaid debit card company by market capitalization. The company also boasts an impressive list of clients, to say the least. Its fintech partners include but are not limited to, Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Uber (NYSE: UBER), and Walmart (NYSE: WMT). Equally impressive is GDOT stock’s growth of over 220% since the March selloffs. With Green Dot slated to release its fourth-quarter earnings on February 22, I can see investors watching GDOT stock closely.
\n
For the most part, the company has been hard at work maintaining its current momentum. Last month, the company launched a new mobile bank focused on addressing the two in three Americans “living from paycheck to paycheck”. How does this connect to fintech stocks?\nWell, to begin with, fintech companies are the bridge that allows most of the general public access to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. If you are, here are four fintech stocks to consider now.\nTop Fintech Stocks To Watch\n\nMogo Inc.(NASDAQ: MOGO)\nPayPal Holdings Inc.(NASDAQ: PYPL)\nSquare Inc.(NYSE: SQ)\nGreen Dot Corporation(NYSE: GDOT)\n\nMogo Inc.\nStarting us off is Canadian fintech company Mogo. Aside from Bitcoin-related tailwinds, the company has also been hard at work expanding its financial portfolio.\nFor starters, Mogo acquired leading digital payments solutions provider Carta Worldwide, over two weeks ago. With the company firing on all cylinders now, will you be watching MOGO stock?\nPayPal Holdings Inc.\nFollowing that, we will be looking at fintech giant, PayPal. Investors may be wondering if it still has room to run moving forward.\nFor one thing, the company does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. You tell me.\nSquare Inc.\nAnother top fintech company on the radar now would be Square. With the current focus on fintech, could investors continue to find more value in SQ stock?\nWell, it has been posting phenomenal figures on the business side of things. In its third-quarter fiscal reported in November, it saw a year-over-year surge of 139% in total revenue and 246% in cash on hand. Specifically, Cash App’s gross profit skyrocketed by 212% year-over-year. All things considered, will you be watching SQ stock ahead of Square’s upcomingearnings callon February 23?\nGreen Dot Corporation\nUndoubtedly, Green Dot is a fintech industry-veteran that should not be overlooked. With Green Dot slated to release its fourth-quarter earnings on February 22, I can see investors watching GDOT stock closely.\nFor the most part, the company has been hard at work maintaining its current momentum. Last month, the company launched a new mobile bank focused on addressing the two in three Americans “living from paycheck to paycheck”. Through this, Green Dot is leveraging its rich industry experience to provide affordable banking solutions for clients in need. In the long run, this could play out well for Green Dot as it engages consumers amidst these troubling times. Moreover, the company appointed a new CTO in Gyorgy Tomso last week. CEO Dan Henry said, “Gyorgy is a fintech veteran whose deep experience leading technology strategy for financial services companies is going to be instrumental in Green Dot’s growth as a leading fintech.” Has all this convinced you to add GDOT to your watchlist?","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":101,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":381659512,"gmtCreate":1612964895836,"gmtModify":1704876606795,"author":{"id":"3567926955259950","authorId":"3567926955259950","name":"wilgo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0ef7305234245815107954107c7b0b15","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567926955259950","authorIdStr":"3567926955259950"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes","listText":"Yes","text":"Yes","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/381659512","repostId":"1136063454","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":88,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":383979722,"gmtCreate":1612833709766,"gmtModify":1704874758580,"author":{"id":"3567926955259950","authorId":"3567926955259950","name":"wilgo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0ef7305234245815107954107c7b0b15","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567926955259950","authorIdStr":"3567926955259950"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like my comment","listText":"Please like my comment","text":"Please like my comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/383979722","repostId":"2109082726","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2109082726","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1612776788,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2109082726?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-02-08 17:33","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"Kuaishou To Be Added To Hang Seng Composite Index From Feb 23","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2109082726","media":"Reuters","summary":"Feb 8 (Reuters) - Adjusted for one-time items, the Silicon Valley car maker earned 80 cents a share. \n
\n
\n Revenue rose 46% to $10.74 billion from $7.38 billion a year ago, thanks in part to \"substantial growth\" in deliveries but offset by extra costs, the company said. \n
\n
\n Analysts polled by FactSet expected Tesla to report adjusted earnings of $1.02 a share on sales of $10.47 billion. \n
\n
\n With new vehicles, new factories and ramped-up production on the horizon, \"2021 is going to be a great year for Tesla,\" Chief Executive Elon Musk said in a conference call with analysts after the results. \"So I'm super excited about the future, and we look forward to making it happen.\" \n
\n
\n He later said he expects to remain CEO for several more years. \n
\n
\n Up until now, Tesla had topped analyst forecasts every quarterly reporting day since October 2019, when it earned a surprise third-quarter 2019 profit against Wall Street expectations of a loss. 2020 marked the first full year of profitability for the company. \n
\n
\n Tesla's miss \"was driven by weaker-than-expected margins,\" analyst Garrett Nelson with CFRA said. Investors also viewed the lack of a direct 2021 sales guidance as a negative, he said. \n
\n
\n In the call with analysts, Musk attempted to justify Tesla's skyrocketing market capitalization, currently north of $820 billion, by pegging it to the company's suite of self-driving features and software. \n
\n
\n Fully self-driving Teslas could be used as \"robo-taxis,\" generating income for their owners in the future, he said. \n
\n
\n Musk also said Tesla plans to offer the self-driving capabilities as a subscription in the near future, and that the company is \"open\" to considering licensing the software to other car makers. \n
\n
\n In the letter to investors, Tesla shied away from providing a straightforward sales outlook. Instead, it said it had \"simplified our approach to guidance\" this year in order to focus on longer-term goals. \n
\n
\n Musk \"probably chose to be less specific given various uncertainties,\" including those that are pandemic-related, CFRA's Nelson said. Moreover, without a specific target for the year, Tesla gives itself more flexibility and set itself up for \"underpromising so they can overdeliver.\" \n
\n
\n In a letter to shareholders, Tesla said it planned to grow its manufacturing capacity \"as quickly as possible,\" and as far as deliveries, its proxy for sales, it expects to reach a 50% average annual growth over a \"multi-year horizon.\" \n
\n
\n \"In some years we may grow faster, which we expect to be the case in 2021,\" Tesla said in the letter, which executive reiterated in the call. \n
\n
\n A growth right at 50% would mean the delivery of about 750,000 vehicles this year, which would compare with the nearly 500,000 cars delivered in 2020, a year marred by factory stoppages and delays due to the pandemic. \n
\n
\n The FactSet surveyed analysts expect deliveries around 800,000 vehicles for this year. \n
\n
\n Tesla's average selling price of its vehicles fell 11% year-on-year as its mix continued to shift to the cheaper Model 3 and Model Y from its luxury Model S and Model X vehicles, the company said in the letter to shareholders. Tesla executives reiterated in the call that the change will continue to be headwind. \n
\n
\n The company said it remained on track to start vehicle production at its new factories in Germany and Texas this year, with in-house battery cells. It is also on track to start selling its commercial truck, the Semi, by the end of the year. \n
\n
\n In the call, Musk said he expects to deliver the Cybertruck, Tesla's pickup truck, by the end of this year \"if we get lucky\" and after some design fixes. Volume production, however, is slated for 2022, he said. \n
\n
\n Tesla shares have gained nearly 700% in the past 12 months, compared with gains around 17% for the S&P 500 index . Earlier this year, the stock went on its longest-ever winning run. \n
\n
\n -Claudia Assis; 415-439-6400; AskNewswires@dowjones.com \n
\n
\n \n
\n
\n $(END)$ Dow Jones Newswires\n
\n
\n January 27, 2021 19:56 ET (00:56 GMT)\n
\n
\n Copyright (c) 2021 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.\n
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla stock falls after company reports first profit miss in more than a year
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTesla stock falls after company reports first profit miss in more than a year\n
\n\n
\n\n\n<div class=\"head\" \">\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Dow Jones
\n
2021-01-28 08:56
\n
\n\n
\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n

\n
\nMW UPDATE: Tesla stock falls after company reports first profit miss in more than a year\n
\n
\n By Claudia Assis \n
\n
\n Tesla expects a 50% annual growth for its deliveries in future years, and says it likely will 'grow faster' in 2021 \n
\n
\n Tesla Inc. late Wednesday reported its sixth-straight quarter of profit and a sales beat, but missed Wall Street expectations and disappointed investors who hoped for a clear-cut sales goal for the year. \n
\n
\n Tesla $(TSLA)$ stock fell as much as 7% in after-hours trading. \n
\n
\n The company earned $270 million, or 24 cents a share, in the fourth quarter, compared with earnings of $105 million, or 11 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted for one-time items, the Silicon Valley car maker earned 80 cents a share. \n\n\n Revenue rose 46% to $10.74 billion from $7.38 billion a year ago, thanks in part to \"substantial growth\" in deliveries but offset by extra costs, the company said. \n\n\n Analysts polled by FactSet expected Tesla to report adjusted earnings of $1.02 a share on sales of $10.47 billion. \n\n\n With new vehicles, new factories and ramped-up production on the horizon, \"2021 is going to be a great year for Tesla,\" Chief Executive Elon Musk said in a conference call with analysts after the results. \"So I'm super excited about the future, and we look forward to making it happen.\" \n\n\n He later said he expects to remain CEO for several more years. \n\n\n Up until now, Tesla had topped analyst forecasts every quarterly reporting day since October 2019, when it earned a surprise third-quarter 2019 profit against Wall Street expectations of a loss. 2020 marked the first full year of profitability for the company. \n\n\n Tesla's miss \"was driven by weaker-than-expected margins,\" analyst Garrett Nelson with CFRA said. Investors also viewed the lack of a direct 2021 sales guidance as a negative, he said. \n\n\n In the call with analysts, Musk attempted to justify Tesla's skyrocketing market capitalization, currently north of $820 billion, by pegging it to the company's suite of self-driving features and software. \n\n\n Fully self-driving Teslas could be used as \"robo-taxis,\" generating income for their owners in the future, he said. \n\n\n Musk also said Tesla plans to offer the self-driving capabilities as a subscription in the near future, and that the company is \"open\" to considering licensing the software to other car makers. \n\n\n In the letter to investors, Tesla shied away from providing a straightforward sales outlook. Instead, it said it had \"simplified our approach to guidance\" this year in order to focus on longer-term goals. \n\n\n Musk \"probably chose to be less specific given various uncertainties,\" including those that are pandemic-related, CFRA's Nelson said. Moreover, without a specific target for the year, Tesla gives itself more flexibility and set itself up for \"underpromising so they can overdeliver.\" \n\n\n In a letter to shareholders, Tesla said it planned to grow its manufacturing capacity \"as quickly as possible,\" and as far as deliveries, its proxy for sales, it expects to reach a 50% average annual growth over a \"multi-year horizon.\" \n\n\n \"In some years we may grow faster, which we expect to be the case in 2021,\" Tesla said in the letter, which executive reiterated in the call. \n\n\n A growth right at 50% would mean the delivery of about 750,000 vehicles this year, which would compare with the nearly 500,000 cars delivered in 2020, a year marred by factory stoppages and delays due to the pandemic. \n\n\n The FactSet surveyed analysts expect deliveries around 800,000 vehicles for this year. \n\n\n Tesla's average selling price of its vehicles fell 11% year-on-year as its mix continued to shift to the cheaper Model 3 and Model Y from its luxury Model S and Model X vehicles, the company said in the letter to shareholders. Tesla executives reiterated in the call that the change will continue to be headwind. \n\n\n The company said it remained on track to start vehicle production at its new factories in Germany and Texas this year, with in-house battery cells. It is also on track to start selling its commercial truck, the Semi, by the end of the year. \n\n\n In the call, Musk said he expects to deliver the Cybertruck, Tesla's pickup truck, by the end of this year \"if we get lucky\" and after some design fixes. Volume production, however, is slated for 2022, he said. \n\n\n Tesla shares have gained nearly 700% in the past 12 months, compared with gains around 17% for the S&P 500 index . ,"news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":93,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":313666935,"gmtCreate":1611709939827,"gmtModify":1704862240288,"author":{"id":"3567926955259950","authorId":"3567926955259950","name":"wilgo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0ef7305234245815107954107c7b0b15","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3567926955259950","authorIdStr":"3567926955259950"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Up","listText":"Up","text":"Up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/313666935","repostId":"1141309013","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1141309013","pubTimestamp":1611655201,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1141309013?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-01-26 In issuing and maintaining its ratings and in making other reports (including forecast information), Fitch relies on factual information it receives from issuers and underwriters and from other sources Fitch believes to be credible. Fitch conducts a reasonable investigation of the factual information relied upon by it in accordance with its ratings methodology, and obtains reasonable verification of that information from independent sources, to the extent such sources are available for a given security or in a given jurisdiction. The manner of Fitch's factual investigation and the scope of the third-party verification it obtains will vary depending on the nature of the rated security and its issuer, the requirements and practices in the jurisdiction in which the rated security is offered and sold and/or the issuer is located, the availability and nature of relevant public information, access to the management of the issuer and its advisers, the availability of pre-existing third-party verifications such as audit reports, agreed-upon procedures letters, appraisals, actuarial reports, engineering reports, legal opinions and other reports provided by third parties, the availability of independent and competent third- party verification sources with respect to the particular security or in the particular jurisdiction of the issuer, and a variety of other factors. Users of Fitch's ratings and reports should understand that neither an enhanced factual investigation nor any third-party verification can ensure that all of the information Fitch relies on in connection with a rating or a report will be accurate and complete. Ultimately, the issuer and its advisers are responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide to Fitch and to the market in offering documents and other reports. In issuing its ratings and its reports, Fitch must rely on the work of experts, including independent auditors with respect to financial statements and attorneys with respect to legal and tax matters. Further, ratings and forecasts of financial and other information are inherently forward-looking and embody assumptions and predictions about future events that by their nature cannot be verified as facts. As a result, despite any verification of current facts, ratings and forecasts can be affected by future events or conditions that were not anticipated at the time a rating or forecast was issued or affirmed. A Fitch rating is an opinion as to the creditworthiness of a security. This opinion and reports made by Fitch are based on established criteria and methodologies that Fitch is continuously evaluating and updating. Therefore, ratings and reports are the collective work product of Fitch and no individual, or group of individuals, is solely responsible for a rating or a report. The rating does not address the risk of loss due to risks other than credit risk, unless such risk is specifically mentioned. Fitch is not engaged in the offer or sale of any security. All Fitch reports have shared authorship. Individuals identified in a Fitch report were involved in, but are not solely responsible for, the opinions stated therein. The individuals are named for contact purposes only. A report providing a Fitch rating is neither a prospectus nor a substitute for the information assembled, verified and presented to investors by the issuer and its agents in connection with the sale of the securities. Ratings may be changed or withdrawn at any time for any reason in the sole discretion of Fitch. Fitch does not provide investment advice of any sort. Ratings are not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Ratings do not comment on the adequacy of market price, the suitability of any security for a particular investor, or the tax-exempt nature or taxability of payments made in respect to any security. Fitch receives fees from issuers, insurers, guarantors, other obligors, and underwriters for rating securities. Such fees generally vary from US$1,000 to US$750,000 (or the applicable currency equivalent) per issue. In certain cases, Fitch will rate all or a number of issues issued by a particular issuer, or insured or guaranteed by a particular insurer or guarantor, for a single annual fee. Such fees are expected to vary from US$10,000 to US$1,500,000 (or the applicable currency equivalent). The assignment, publication, or dissemination of a rating by Fitch shall not constitute a consent by Fitch to use its name as an expert in connection with any registration statement filed under the United States securities laws, the Financial Services and Markets Act of 2000 of the United Kingdom, or the securities laws of any particular jurisdiction. In issuing and maintaining its ratings and in making other reports (including forecast information), Fitch relies on factual information it receives from issuers and underwriters and from other sources Fitch believes to be credible. Adjusted for one-time items, the Silicon Valley car maker earned 80 cents a share. \n
