Keppel Corporation, BN4,  share holders today will get 19.1 shares of Sembcorp Marine, S51, shares for every one BN4 share held. The shares will be credited to your trading account on 1st March, 2023. What should you do now? Lets take an example: You own 10,000 BN4 shares before 23Feb2023. The share closed at 7.34 yesterday. If you had sold at this price yesterday. you would get 73,400. Today, if you sell your BN4 say at 5.45 on XE, you will get 54,500 PLUS 191 00 shares and if you sell at 0.125 on 1st March, 2023, would realise 23,875.. In total you will get 54,500+23,875 = 78,375, giving about a 5,000 extra if you had not sold yesterday to earn the entitleme

My prediction is for oil prices to stay on the high side and soon it will rise to over $100 again. Most if not all countries are dependent on oil, especially after the post-covid recovery period as oil is much needed to drive their economies. The case of renewabke energy replacing oil can be seen as very remote. Yes it might replace oil one day but definitely not in the next 20 or 30 years I dare say. Countries are slow in adpting to electric vehicles and ICE vehicles will continue to compete with EVs. With the ongoing political tensions especially within the oill producing block, oil prices cannot help but will keep its sttength moving toward $100 and beyond. You can safely bet on that if you just look around at what countries are quarrelling about in trying to dominate the oil sector. US

Yes, Nividia, NVD, presented a set of stirlinh results two days ago and the shates shot up to the high 760ish, only to see it hit 801 at premarket today. Some are predicting NVDA will do a Tesla, TSLA before the split and rrach the magical foir figure. I dont know but then it might whioe riding the AI fervour with its huge earnings report. But then, it is better to caution on the safe side and stay with yhe other magnificient seven stocks. NVDA, like I said in my previous had gone up too high, too fast. Given that NVDA has a fantastic outlook, I still think investors shoild stay on the groumd and not chase the stock. Better to be on the safe than sorry as at some point after the earnings  euphoria subsides, the share price will surley return to the 700 level. Take care !

$KEPPEL CORPORATION LIMITED(BN4.SI)$ Keppel Corporatiin went ex-dividend today and the theoretical price should be 6.19 after adjuatment ti the 18 cents dividend from yesterday's closing price. Now Keppel is at 6.10. Hence if you had sold off at 6.19 or so yesterday and buy now at 6.10 you will have made a gain foregoing the dividend. This happenes also fo DBS Bank ex-dividend two week ago. Hence, from these two counters it would seem to be cheaper to sell off before ex-dividend,  forego the dividend and buy on day of ex-dividend. Lets see how UOB will perform romorrow at ex-dividend. UOB may suffer the same fate, so do you sell off UOB today foregoing yhe dividend and buy tomorrow when it goes ex-dividend? Mo

$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$  Time for NVDA to retrace downwards as with the other magnificient 7 stocks of which NVDA is the leader of the pack. Too high, too fast indeed. Yes caught NVDA at the low 450ish and rode on fir profits selling off at 460ish for a ten cent profit per share. I have always advised on patience when trading momentim stocks. You just have to be in convictiin that NVD would come down and wait patiently. Once your target price is reached, pick up some and if it dips further. pick up more. I am not going to touch on why NVDA is a huge stock to invest in as there are already so mant posts and articles on why NVDA is one stock to have in your portfolio. Tesla, TSLA and Apple, AAPL are huge momentum stocks and both never fail to please day traders. Buying low and selling high can easily be achieved with these two stocks. Tesla Inc, TSLA, hit a low of 206.68 in last ttading session after hitting a day high of 220.80. After hours it climbed up to 208.27. Yes, TSLA can move upwards any time. $ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$  buy at 55 and keep buying on the dios to bring average cost down and wait for the rebound. Keppel Corporation (BN4) hascome a long way. It is time to pick this up. The company is now in its best position to profitfrom its restructuring exercise last year. With oil prices back to iys high, Keppel has all to gain. Its share price crosses the $7 mark and has stayed above it for some time. Analysts have maintained that it is an $8 stock which, I believe, would soon be breached. Price crossed 7.20 last week and it should hit 7.30 and move gradually towards 7.50 in the near term. Good to buy on the dips and wait for good returns and excellent dividends. In fact, Keppel had just paid 15cents per share on 19Aug2022, a fantastic yield indeed.

I am quite concerned when I read in many comments to just buy stocks in one sector like the banks. Yes banks are great stocks to own. However, when inbesting, you need to find good stocks in other sectors like oil and gas, property, utility, etc. This is because not all stocks rise or fall at the same time. We need to cushion our portfolio with stocks from various sectors. One good advice is to buy blue chips in the STRAITS TIMES INDEX like the 3 banks, City Development, Keppel Corporation, Thai Beverage, Genting, SIA, all of which I have. Since it's announcement, the shates have gone up 7% and has been holding in the mid 170ish. If you follow the ttend each market day, you would notice that there are a lot of buyers at the low 170ish. $Meta Materials Inc.(MMAT)$  Buy as now the stock gains momentun as it traded at a volume of 10.2 million, which is 136.3% of its average trading volume over the last 3months. MMAT hit a high of 178, a 24% increase over the previous day close. The stock closed at 1.69 and is expected to go higher as its preferred share MMTLP shot up to 8.40, up 15.54% from the previous day close. The company market cap now stands at 579 million, a huge increase for this small cap stock.
