And they have great growth prospects.","content":"
When Cathie Wood talks, people listen. And when she buys stocks, people pay attention.
\n
That's not surprising. Wood's ARK exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have been huge winners in recent years. Wood has become one of the most-followed investors around. Some have speculated that she could be the next Warren Buffett. Others have called her the \"anti-Warren Buffett\" because of her strikingly different investing style from that of the Oracle of Omaha.
\n
You could simply invest in one of the ARK ETFs to benefit from Wood's stock-picking prowess. Another route, though, is to buy shares of individual stocks favored by Wood. Here are three stocks Cathie Wood really likes that should make you rich over the long run.
\n

\n
\n
Square
\n
There's a revolution going on in the financial world. And Square (NYSE:SQ) stands as a leader in that revolution. The stock ranks as the top holding in Wood's ARK Fintech Innovation ETF and the second largest position in the ARK Innovation ETF.
\n
Square achieved its initial success by providing payment processing services to small- and medium-sized businesses. Over time, the company expanded its products and services to include point-of-sale software, an e-commerce platform, payroll services, business debit cards, and more. As of this month, Square also now operates a federally chartered bank. This opens the door for Square to provide small-business loans to its customers.
\n
The company's biggest growth driver, though, is its Cash App digital wallet. In the fourth quarter, over 36 million customers were active users of Cash App -- 50% more than in the prior-year period. Square has steadily added to the features available on Cash App, making it increasingly popular for individuals to conduct a wide range of financial transactions.
\n
The shift from cash to digital payments is still only in its early stages. Square is poised to grow much larger with both its seller and Cash App ecosystems -- and make investors a lot of money along the way.
\n
Teladoc Health
\n
Is Cathie Wood worried about the threat Amazon.com might pose for Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC)? Not a bit. She loaded up on more shares of Teladoc after Amazon recently announced plans to compete in the telehealth market. Teladoc is currently the No. 1 position in the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF and the fourth-biggest holding in the ARK Innovation ETF.
\n
There's a good reason Wood likes Teladoc so much. The company is the global virtual care leader. Over 40% of the Fortune 500 use Teladoc Health's services. Teladoc provides a more comprehensive product offering than any of its rivals.
\n
The growth prospects for Teladoc are fantastic. The company has nearly as many potential users at existing clients as it does members. Teladoc's acquisition of Livongo Health, which operates a digital health platform that helps individuals manage chronic conditions, gives it significant cross-selling opportunities.
\n
McKinsey and Company predicts that the U.S. virtual care market will reach close to $250 billion annually. The number is even bigger including international markets. Teladoc's market cap stands below $30 billion. This Cathie Wood favorite has plenty of room to run.
\n
Vertex Pharmaceuticals
\n
Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX) ranks as the sixth-largest holding in the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF. It arguably has the strongest moat right now of any of the top stocks in Wood's ETFs.
\n
The big biotech doesn't have any rivals in its core market. Vertex's four approved cystic fibrosis (CF) drugs are the only ones that treat the underlying cause of the genetic disease. The closest potential competitors are currently evaluating experimental CF therapies in phase 2 testing.
\n
Vertex is also leveraging its expertise in CF to target other rare genetic diseases. It expects to report key results from a phase 2 study evaluating VX-864 in treating liver disease alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency within the next few months. The company's pipeline also includes candidates targeting rare blood disorders beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease (with its partner CRISPR Therapeutics) and rare kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
\n
In addition, Vertex has a potential game-changer that just advanced to a phase 1/2 study. Cell therapy VX-880 just might be able to enable patients with type 1 diabetes to live insulin-independent if it succeeds in clinical testing.
\n
Vertex has a $6.6 billion cash stockpile that it plans to use in scooping up mid-to-late-stage candidates to beef up its pipeline even more. And when she buys stocks, people pay attention.\nThat's not surprising. Wood's ARK exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have been huge winners in recent years. Wood has become one of the most-followed investors around. Some have speculated that she could be the next Warren Buffett. Others have called her the \"anti-Warren Buffett\" because of her strikingly different investing style from that of the Oracle of Omaha.\nYou could simply invest in one of the ARK ETFs to benefit from Wood's stock-picking prowess. Another route, though, is to buy shares of individual stocks favored by Wood. Here are three stocks Cathie Wood really likes that should make you rich over the long run.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nSquare\nThere's a revolution going on in the financial world. And Square (NYSE:SQ) stands as a leader in that revolution. The stock ranks as the top holding in Wood's ARK Fintech Innovation ETF and the second largest position in the ARK Innovation ETF.\nSquare achieved its initial success by providing payment processing services to small- and medium-sized businesses. Over time, the company expanded its products and services to include point-of-sale software, an e-commerce platform, payroll services, business debit cards, and more. As of this month, Square also now operates a federally chartered bank. This opens the door for Square to provide small-business loans to its customers.\nThe company's biggest growth driver, though, is its Cash App digital wallet. In the fourth quarter, over 36 million customers were active users of Cash App -- 50% more than in the prior-year period. Square has steadily added to the features available on Cash App, making it increasingly popular for individuals to conduct a wide range of financial transactions.\nThe shift from cash to digital payments is still only in its early stages. Square is poised to grow much larger with both its seller and Cash App ecosystems -- and make investors a lot of money along the way.\nTeladoc Health\nIs Cathie Wood worried about the threat Amazon.com might pose for Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC)? Not a bit. She loaded up on more shares of Teladoc after Amazon recently announced plans to compete in the telehealth market. Teladoc is currently the No. 1 position in the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF and the fourth-biggest holding in the ARK Innovation ETF.\nThere's a good reason Wood likes Teladoc so much. The company is the global virtual care leader. Over 40% of the Fortune 500 use Teladoc Health's services. Teladoc provides a more comprehensive product offering than any of its rivals.\nThe growth prospects for Teladoc are fantastic. The company has nearly as many potential users at existing clients as it does members. Teladoc's acquisition of Livongo Health, which operates a digital health platform that helps individuals manage chronic conditions, gives it significant cross-selling opportunities.\nMcKinsey and Company predicts that the U.S. virtual care market will reach close to $250 billion annually. The number is even bigger including international markets. Teladoc's market cap stands below $30 billion. This Cathie Wood favorite has plenty of room to run.\nVertex Pharmaceuticals\nVertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX) ranks as the sixth-largest holding in the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF. It arguably has the strongest moat right now of any of the top stocks in Wood's ETFs.\nThe big biotech doesn't have any rivals in its core market. Vertex's four approved cystic fibrosis (CF) drugs are the only ones that treat the underlying cause of the genetic disease. The closest potential competitors are currently evaluating experimental CF therapies in phase 2 testing.\nVertex is also leveraging its expertise in CF to target other rare genetic diseases. It expects to report key results from a phase 2 study evaluating VX-864 in treating liver disease alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency within the next few months. The company's pipeline also includes candidates targeting rare blood disorders beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease (with its partner CRISPR Therapeutics) and rare kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.\nIn addition, Vertex has a potential game-changer that just advanced to a phase 1/2 study. Cell therapy VX-880 just might be able to enable patients with type 1 diabetes to live insulin-independent if it succeeds in clinical testing.\nVertex has a $6.6 billion cash stockpile that it plans to use in scooping up mid-to-late-stage candidates to beef up its pipeline even more. I think this biotech stock should continue to be a big winner for years to come.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":219,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":359339527,"gmtCreate":1616338779769,"gmtModify":1704792991245,"author":{"id":"3571888408679376","authorId":"3571888408679376","name":"DonnaLiang","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b39ed8f97a10f354c3b280f588a8361f","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3571888408679376","idStr":"3571888408679376"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thx 4 sharing","listText":"Thx 4 sharing","text":"Thx 4 sharing","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/359339527","repostId":"1138262460","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1138262460","pubTimestamp":1616124732,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1138262460?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-19 11:32","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Value stocks are so in favor they’ve become momentum stocks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1138262460","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"As investors continue to rotate their exposure into value sectors, stocks in that corner of the mark","content":"
As investors continue to rotate their exposure into value sectors, stocks in that corner of the market starting to take on characteristics of the momentum factor, an uncommon combination that bodes well for investors, said analysts at Alliance Bernstein in a research note out Wednesday.

“This is the holy grail of quant and Value investing!” the Bernstein analysts wrote.

Many investing models, they note, have been “built to overweight stocks where there is agreement between Value and Momentum – i.e. to overweight stocks which are cheap but which also have earnings momentum and/or price momentum. Actually, you'll only need one finger.Tilrayis the only stock to narrowly outperform Sundial in 2021 so far. But that could soon change.

Sundial announced its fourth-quarter results after the market closed on Wednesday. The marijuana stock jumped close to 8% in after-hours trading. Here are the highlights from the company's Q4 update.

By the numbers

Sundial reported net cannabis revenue of 13.9 million in Canadian dollars in the fourth quarter, up 8% quarter over quarter but down more than 5% year over year. This result topped the average analyst's revenue estimate of CA$12.1 million.

The cannabis producer announced a net loss in the fourth quarter of CA$64.1 million. This reflected improvement from Sundial's net loss of CA$71.4 million in the previous quarter and its net loss of CA$145.9 million in the prior-year period.

Sundial recorded an adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) from continuing operations loss of CA$5.6 million in Q4. In the third quarter, the company posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of CA$4.4 million.

Behind the numbers

Sundial Growers CEO Zach George noted that the company faced headwinds in its last two quarters from the repositioning of its cultivation operations. The cannabis producer has made these changes to try to meet the continuing shifts in consumer preferences.

The company's transition from wholesale to branded retail sales achieved incremental improvement in the fourth quarter, compared to the third quarter. However, Sundial has a long way to go to return to its revenue levels of the past.

George readily acknowledged this. He noted that the company still has \"significant work to do in our core operations to achieve the goals we have established for Sundial and our shareholders.\"

It didn't help that the company's Q4 average gross selling price per gram equivalent for branded products fell to CA$4.14 from $5.53 in the third quarter. Sundial attributed this decrease to \"industry price compression,\" which basically means that competition is resulting in lower prices.

The good news for Sundial is that its cost reduction initiatives are paying off. General and administrative (G&A) costs in full-year 2020 declined 18% year over year. However, total sales, marketing, and G&A costs rose 6% quarter over quarter, due primarily to increasing sales and marketing spending promoting the company's brands.

Looking ahead

There are several positive developments to look forward to with Sundial. The company said that it harvested its highest-potency cannabis flower ever in February. While the popular, technology-driven Nasdaq 100 index fell 2.6% and theS&P 500 indexdropped 0.8%, Motamed’sInvenomicfund soared 5.8% because he was betting against the popular tech stocks and for the unpopular value ones.
\n
That’s right—beaten-up value stocks arefinally winning. Both theRussell 2000 Value Indexof the smallest, cheapest stocks and theRussell 1000 Value Indexof the largest are beating their Russell growth counterparts by more than 10 percentage points this year. And this time, afternumerous head-fakes—including a one-day surge among tech stocks this week—the comeback seems for real.
\n
“We still have among the biggest spreads in valuation between value and growth stocks that we’ve ever had,” says Motamed. That, plus the promise of fiscal stimulus, has driven up value stocks, which are generally weaker, more cyclical, or more economically sensitive than growth stocks. Consequently. Motamed’s value-oriented fund (ticker: BIVRX), is the No. 1 fund this year in Morningstar’s Long-Short Equity category, with a 26% return.
\n
How wide is the valuation gap? That depends on which metric you use. The most traditional one is price-to-book value, which examines a company’s hard assets. TheRussell 3000 Growth Indexhad aP/B of 11.1at the end of January versus theRussell 3000 Value’sP/B of 2.5. Historically, value managers searched for companies trading below one times book value for bargains. The valuation spread is currently at “the peak of the [2000] tech-bubble levels,” says Rob Arnott, founding chairman of Research Affiliates, which manages $153 billion. “So, I look on this as the first big step in what’s likely to be a long march back for value.”
\n
Yet book value doesn’t measure technology companies well, as they often have little in the way of physical assets. Another metric is the Shiller price/earnings ratio, which normalizes, or smooths out, earnings for stocks in the ratio by averaging them over the past 10 years. U.S. large-cap stocks overall have a 35.5 Shiller P/E, a valuation not seen since their peak of 44 during the 1999-2000 tech bubble. U.S. value stocks have a Shiller P/E of 21.6, and growth 46.8. “If you look at a Shiller P/E ratio, growth is insanely expensive, and value is cheap, relative to the market,” Arnott says, “but not quite cheap relative to its historic norms.” He says value stocks need to fall 5% and growth 50% to achieve fair value in accordance with historic norms.
\n
For this reason, Arnott favors foreign stocks, and emerging market stocks especially, which are cheaper overall than U.S. stocks. Emerging markets value stocks have a 10 Shiller P/E. “I have about half of my liquid assets in emerging markets deep value,” he says.
\n
But someone like Motamed can play the spread in valuation by going long value in gold miner stocks like Kinross Gold(KGC), and short tech stocks likeApple(AAPL) or Shopify(SHOP). “I can buy gold [miner] equities that in many cases are unlevered [zero debt] or becoming unlevered, well below book value, with enormous cash flows,” he says.
\n
Meanwhile, “Apple is just a misrepresentation of a growth company,” Motamed says, pointing to its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, or Ebitda. “If you look at Apple’s Ebitda, it made $82 billion in 2015. In the last year, it did $86 billion in Ebitda. That’s a 1% growth rate. While the popular, technology-driven Nasdaq 100 index fell 2.6% and theS&P 500 indexdropped 0.8%, Motamed’sInvenomicfund soared 5.8% because he was betting against the popular tech stocks and for the unpopular value ones.\nThat’s right—beaten-up value stocks arefinally winning. Both theRussell 2000 Value Indexof the smallest, cheapest stocks and theRussell 1000 Value Indexof the largest are beating their Russell growth counterparts by more than 10 percentage points this year. And this time, afternumerous head-fakes—including a one-day surge among tech stocks this week—the comeback seems for real.\n“We still have among the biggest spreads in valuation between value and growth stocks that we’ve ever had,” says Motamed. That, plus the promise of fiscal stimulus, has driven up value stocks, which are generally weaker, more cyclical, or more economically sensitive than growth stocks. Consequently. Motamed’s value-oriented fund (ticker: BIVRX), is the No. 1 fund this year in Morningstar’s Long-Short Equity category, with a 26% return.\nHow wide is the valuation gap? That depends on which metric you use. The most traditional one is price-to-book value, which examines a company’s hard assets. TheRussell 3000 Growth Indexhad aP/B of 11.1at the end of January versus theRussell 3000 Value’sP/B of 2.5. Historically, value managers searched for companies trading below one times book value for bargains. The valuation spread is currently at “the peak of the [2000] tech-bubble levels,” says Rob Arnott, founding chairman of Research Affiliates, which manages $153 billion. “So, I look on this as the first big step in what’s likely to be a long march back for value.”\nYet book value doesn’t measure technology companies well, as they often have little in the way of physical assets. “If you look at a Shiller P/E ratio, growth is insanely expensive, and value is cheap, relative to the market,” Arnott says, “but not quite cheap relative to its historic norms.” He says value stocks need to fall 5% and growth 50% to achieve fair value in accordance with historic norms.\nFor this reason, Arnott favors foreign stocks, and emerging market stocks especially, which are cheaper overall than U.S. stocks. Emerging markets value stocks have a 10 Shiller P/E. “I have about half of my liquid assets in emerging markets deep value,” he says.\nBut someone like Motamed can play the spread in valuation by going long value in gold miner stocks like Kinross Gold(KGC), and short tech stocks likeApple(AAPL) or Shopify(SHOP). “I can buy gold [miner] equities that in many cases are unlevered [zero debt] or becoming unlevered, well below book value, with enormous cash flows,” he says.\nMeanwhile, “Apple is just a misrepresentation of a growth company,” Motamed says, pointing to its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, or Ebitda. “If you look at Apple’s Ebitda, it made $82 billion in 2015. In the last year, it did $86 billion in Ebitda. That’s a 1% growth rate. They’ve saturated their market.”\n\nSome value-oriented managers have a more nuanced view. Chris Davis, chairman of Davis Advisors and manager ofSelected American(SLADX), says there’s a distinction between what he calls “growth stalwarts” likeAlphabet(GOOGL) and more speculative fare. Google, he says, has “incredible cash-generation ability” and a dominant position in search engines that’s nearly impossible to dislodge.\nWhat Davis wants in growth stocks is proven cash flow generation, not expected cash flow years down the road. The distinction between current growth and expected growth is a vital one now because it isn’t just the promise of stimulus driving cyclical value stocks up, but rising interest rates driving high-priced growth stocks down. The stimulus Wall Street expects will cause inflation, which makes bonds with low yields less attractive, so rates on 10-year Treasury notes, after hitting a low of 0.5% last year, are now 1.5%.\nCompanies with high valuations likeTesla(TSLA), which has a 172 forward P/E, have much of their earnings growth in the future, and consequently have low earnings yields, which is the inverse of their P/E ratios—0.6% in Tesla’s case. Those yields compare more unfavorably to bonds with each increase in rates. “Growth stocks are longer-duration equities,” explains Scott McBride, manager ofHotchkis & Wiley Large Cap Value(HWLAX) “Their cash flows are further out into the future. A move in interest rates has a bigger impact on price, just like it has a bigger impact on the price of long-duration bonds.” Bond prices move inversely with rates, and long-duration ones are more sensitive to rates.\nIn addition, traditional value sectorscan benefit from rising rates, especially banks, which can increase profit margins on their loans by charging more for them as rates rise. Meanwhile, inflation should drive up prices of hard-asset-based energy, gold mining, and real estate stocks.\nThat said, some managers think the reversal will be temporary. Mitch Rubin, manager of theRiverPark Long/Short Opportunity(RLSFX), which favors growth stocks, says rates were so low to begin with that what is happening now is really a “period of normalizing stable rates.” Long-term bonds rates below 5% are generally good for growth companies that can borrow cheaply and expand, he says.\nRubin owns Apple and other stocks Motamed is shorting. “We don’t think Apple is done as an innovator,” he says. His fund is up only 1.8% this year, but it has beaten every other long/short fund in the past five years.\nWhether he or Motamed wins in the next five years is the question. They’ve saturated their market.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":543,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":327225569,"gmtCreate":1616092273351,"gmtModify":1704790917905,"author":{"id":"3571888408679376","authorId":"3571888408679376","name":"DonnaLiang","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b39ed8f97a10f354c3b280f588a8361f","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571888408679376","authorIdStr":"3571888408679376"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow, amazing","listText":"Wow, amazing","text":"Wow, amazing","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/327225569","repostId":"1168629616","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1168629616","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1616074673,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1168629616?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-18 21:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Sundial Growers rose more than 7%","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1168629616","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"(March 18) Sundial Grower rose more than 7%.Sundial Reports Full Year and Fourth Quarter 2020 Financ","content":"
(March 18) Sundial Grower rose more than 7%.Sundial Reports Full Year and Fourth Quarter 2020 Financial and Operational Results, misses on revenue.

Sundial Growers Q4 Net loss of C$64.14M.

Revenue of C$13.58M (+5.3% Q/Q)misses by C$0.3M.

Adjusted EBITDA loss of C$5.6M.

The Company sold 23,500 kilogram equivalents of cannabis in 2020, a 36% increase over the previous year sales of 17,293 kilogram equivalents.

Branded net cannabis sales increased to 75% of total cannabis sales in 2020 from 20% in the previous year, representing C$55.3 million of sales up from $13.4 million of sales in 2019.

Here's Why Investors Liked Sundial Growers' Q4 Results

You can count the number ofpot stocksthat have been hotter this year thanSundial Growers(NASDAQ:SNDL)on one hand.

I think this biotech stock should continue to be a big winner for years to come.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":219,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":359339527,"gmtCreate":1616338779769,"gmtModify":1704792991245,"author":{"id":"3571888408679376","authorId":"3571888408679376","name":"DonnaLiang","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b39ed8f97a10f354c3b280f588a8361f","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571888408679376","authorIdStr":"3571888408679376"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thx 4 sharing","listText":"Thx 4 sharing","text":"Thx 4 sharing","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/359339527","repostId":"1138262460","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1138262460","pubTimestamp":1616124732,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1138262460?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-19 11:32","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Value stocks are so in favor they’ve become momentum stocks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1138262460","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"As investors continue to rotate their exposure into value sectors, stocks in that corner of the mark","content":"
