getting closer to reasonable levels, but it may not stay there for long.","content":"

Since Tesla's CEO Elon Musk disclosed his stake in Twitter on April 4, Tesla's stock has been on a volatile downhill ride, falling 42%. With the saga between Musk and Twitter becoming more complex, some investors may be wondering if Musk has taken his eye off the ball with one of his most successful companies.

Even with the stock-based distractions, Tesla as a company has become an absolute powerhouse. The company reported a solid first quarter and set ambitious long-term goals, exciting investors. But the question that has dogged Tesla for years is still being asked: Is the valuation for Tesla too expensive for what the company does?

Strong growth and superior profitability

In terms of vehicle production, Tesla has been full of great news in recent reports. Q1 production rose 69% year over year, which drove automotive revenue growth by 87% year over year. Because revenue grew faster than production, Tesla is generating better margins on every vehicle it produces. This margin increase comes, in part, from price hikes instituted throughout 2021 and increases in production efficiency for its Model S and X, which are higher-priced vehicles.

This revenue growth is definitely trickling down to the bottom line, as quarterly net income rose 658% year over year. Even more impressive was Tesla's 17.7% net income margin, placing it among the best in the auto industry.

TSLA Profit Margin (Quarterly) data by YCharts

Tesla is nearing luxury vehicle margins. Because of this, it should be valued closer to Ferrari at 35 times earnings rather than General Motors at six or Toyota with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 8.6. While Tesla is still valued at 90 times earnings, it could reach that threshold if it maintains its growth.

Management also gave investors a great piece of news: It expects to grow its vehicle deliveries by 50% annually over multiple years. Using this forecast to model revenue growth and keeping Tesla's 17.7% profit margin, Tesla could have $14.9 billion in earnings at the end of 2022. This means Tesla trades for 49.5 times full-year 2022 earnings, not a bad valuation for a company that expects to grow around 50% annually over the next few years.

With the recent stock sell-off, I'm not as concerned about Tesla's valuation as I would have been when the stock was trading above $1,000 per share. Strong growth and a reasonable valuation make Tesla stock an intriguing investment, but the business model also needs to be solid in order to invest.

Tesla is not your typical automaker

How does Tesla have such a high profit margin compared to legacy automakers? First, it cut out the middleman. Because Tesla sells directly to consumers, it doesn't need to share profits with dealers. This business model has rubbed many people the wrong way, but it benefits Tesla significantly.

It also is solely focused on electric vehicles (EVs). Regardless of your feelings toward EVs, it's clear the auto industry is moving in that direction. While the legacy automakers are still a couple of years out from total EV production, Tesla is full steam ahead. It's gaining a first-mover advantage and capturing many customers while other manufacturers are still prototyping or only just now ramping up production. Furthermore, Tesla's four production models (the 3, S, Y, and X) are all in the top 10 of Consumer Reports' most satisfying cars, ranked first, third, fourth, and tenth, respectively.

EVs also have another tailwind blowing in their favor: rising gas prices.

US Retail Gas Price data by YCharts

With the average price of gasoline in the U.S. hitting record highs, more consumers are seriously considering making the switch to EVs for their next vehicle purchase. If Tesla can keep up with the demand, it should be able to capture customers before the legacy automakers can, giving Tesla a big advantage.

However, the costs of raw materials like nickel and cobalt used in making batters are hitting record highs, causing the production costs of Tesla's vehicles to rise. With the saga between Musk and Twitter becoming more complex, some investors may be wondering if Musk has taken his eye off the ball with one of his most successful companies.Even with the stock-based distractions, Tesla as a company has become an absolute powerhouse. The company reported a solid first quarter and set ambitious long-term goals, exciting investors. But the question that has dogged Tesla for years is still being asked: Is the valuation for Tesla too expensive for what the company does?Image source: Tesla.Strong growth and superior profitabilityIn terms of vehicle production, Tesla has been full of great news in recent reports. Even more impressive was Tesla's 17.7% net income margin, placing it among the best in the auto industry.TSLA Profit Margin (Quarterly) data by YChartsTesla is nearing luxury vehicle margins. Because of this, it should be valued closer to Ferrari at 35 times earnings rather than General Motors at six or Toyota with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 8.6. While Tesla is still valued at 90 times earnings, it could reach that threshold if it maintains its growth.Management also gave investors a great piece of news: It expects to grow its vehicle deliveries by 50% annually over multiple years. Strong growth and a reasonable valuation make Tesla stock an intriguing investment, but the business model also needs to be solid in order to invest.Tesla is not your typical automakerHow does Tesla have such a high profit margin compared to legacy automakers? First, it cut out the middleman. Because Tesla sells directly to consumers, it doesn't need to share profits with dealers. This business model has rubbed many people the wrong way, but it benefits Tesla significantly. It also is solely focused on electric vehicles (EVs). Regardless of your feelings toward EVs, it's clear the auto industry is moving in that direction. While the legacy automakers are still a couple of years out from total EV production, Tesla is full steam ahead. It's gaining a first-mover advantage and capturing many customers while other manufacturers are still prototyping or only just now ramping up production. Furthermore, Tesla's four production models (the 3, S, Y, and X) are all in the top 10 of Consumer Reports' most satisfying cars, ranked first, third, fourth, and tenth, respectively.EVs also have another tailwind blowing in their favor: rising gas prices.US Retail Gas Price data by YChartsWith the average price of gasoline in the U.S. hitting record highs, more consumers are seriously considering making the switch to EVs for their next vehicle purchase. If Tesla can keep up with the demand, it should be able to capture customers before the legacy automakers can, giving Tesla a big advantage. However, the costs of raw materials like nickel and cobalt used in making batters are hitting record highs, causing the production costs of Tesla's vehicles to rise. The range is one of the primary concerns many consumers have about making the switch to EVs. Still, if car buyers can settle for standard range models, Tesla's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistries can provide excellent performance without the price hike.Image source: Tesla.EVs are gaining market share, and Tesla is leading the way. Getting there while keeping its luxury-brand margins could prove challenging.

Lululemon said it aims to double its sales to $12.5 billion by 2026.

Lululemon’ roots are grounded in yoga, but it is stretching well beyond that now.

The athletic-apparel company said in an analyst presentation this past Wednesday that it aims to double its sales from $6.3 billion in its latest fiscal year to $12.5 billion by 2026. As ambitious as that seems, it may not be too far out of reach for Lululemon, which has doubled its revenue in three years. Analysts polled by FactSet were already penciling in a similar number.

Lululemon’s new targets come as the company expands its horizons. It recently launched women’s footwear, which the company says is selling well, and is branching out to apparel for golf, tennis and hiking. After making its foray into fitness equipment through the Mirror acquisition in 2020, the company is also setting its sights on paid memberships. Later this year, Lululemon plans to debut a $39-a-month membership program that will give its users access to digital fitness classes in Mirror’s library, as well as online classes from boutique studios such as Pure Barre and Y7. It will also include discounts to in-person classes offered by those studios.

There are some reasons to be cautious about Lululemon’s new plans, though, which come as the company anticipates a slowdown in women’s apparel sales growth. Lululemon’s market share in North American women’s apparel already doubled between 2015 and 2020, according to data from Euromonitor.

The real challenge will be pulling off the expansion while keeping its luxury brand-like margins intact. Wild success in footwear, for instance, would be a double-edged sword because it is a lower-margin category compared with apparel. And while comfortable work pants for men is a niche category with few sizable competitors, footwear, golf, tennis and hiking all place the company more directly in competition with the likes of Nike and Adidas. Meanwhile, a $39 membership fee seems steep compared with alternatives. Peloton’s membership for just its app costs just $12.99 a month, for example.

For now, Lululemon thinks it can deliver its growth target primarily from selling its core line of products to more customers, including international markets, which only accounted for about 15% of total revenue last fiscal year, and men’s, which accounts for a third of its sales. Mirror and footwear are only expected to make up roughly 5% of sales for the foreseeable future.

One reason Lululemon has been so successful in preserving its bottom line—besides the steep price tags—is its grass-roots marketing strategy. The days when $100-plus Lululemon pants practically sell themselves could be numbered; the company said in its presentation on Wednesday that it will move to a more “integrated” approach that will involve more earned and paid media, as well as sports partnerships. Getting there while keeping its luxury-brand margins could prove challenging.Lululemon said it aims to double its sales to $12.5 billion by 2026.Lululemon’ roots are grounded in yoga, but it is stretching well beyond that now.The athletic-apparel company said in an analyst presentation this past Wednesday that it aims to double its sales from $6.3 billion in its latest fiscal year to $12.5 billion by 2026. As ambitious as that seems, it may not be too far out of reach for Lululemon, which has doubled its revenue in three years. Analysts polled by FactSet were already penciling in a similar number.Lululemon’s new targets come as the company expands its horizons. Furthermore, international markets, where Lululemon plans to quadruple its business by 2026, could also end up having a mixed impact on profitability. David Swartz, equity analyst at Morningstar, noted in a recent report that Lululemon’s expansion into Europe “has been slow and a drag on earnings.”Lululemon is increasingly positioning itself as an all-encompassing fitness and sports brand, directly in Nike’s lane. Though patience has, once again, paid off for investors, their gains have come after the benchmark S&P 500 lost 34% of its value in less than five weeks during the first quarter of 2020.
\n
Some investors absolutely shy away when heightened volatility rears its head. But that's not what we've witnessed from retail investors.
\n
\n
Even though retail investors have been putting their money to work on Wall Street for more than a century, they used the wild volatility on Wall Street over the past 16 months as their cue to really ramp up their buying. How do we know this? Just take a look at online investing app Robinhood, which gained approximately 3 million new users last year.
\n
Millennial investors have found a home at Robinhood for a bevy of reasons. The app doesn't charge commissions for buying or selling on major exchanges, and it allows fractional shares for a number of securities. The company even awards new members with free shares of stock.
\n
While it's fantastic to see young investors putting their money to work in the greatest wealth creator on the planet, it's also disturbing to see what they've been buying. Though patience has, once again, paid off for investors, their gains have come after the benchmark S&P 500 lost 34% of its value in less than five weeks during the first quarter of 2020.\nSome investors absolutely shy away when heightened volatility rears its head. But that's not what we've witnessed from retail investors.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nEven though retail investors have been putting their money to work on Wall Street for more than a century, they used the wild volatility on Wall Street over the past 16 months as their cue to really ramp up their buying. How do we know this? Just take a look at online investing app Robinhood, which gained approximately 3 million new users last year.\nMillennial investors have found a home at Robinhood for a bevy of reasons. The app doesn't charge commissions for buying or selling on major exchanges, and it allows fractional shares for a number of securities. The company even awards new members with free shares of stock.\nWhile it's fantastic to see young investors putting their money to work in the greatest wealth creator on the planet, it's also disturbing to see what they've been buying. Instead of taking the tried-and-true long-term investing approach, many are chasing momentum plays, penny stocks, and companies with poor operating performance.\nDon't believe me? The items range from basic oat milk, to even ice cream and yogurt made from oat milk. According to its website, Oatly’s goal is “to make it easy for people to turn what they eat and drink into personal moments of healthy joy without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process.”

Oatly confidentially filed for its IPO back in February, then officiallyset terms of the move last week. According to multiple outlets, Oatly will offer about 84.4 million American depositary shares (ADS) at between $15 and $17 per share. In total, the Oatly IPO could reach a $10.1 billion valuation, and the firm hopes to raise $1.1 billion.

Additionally, Oatly plans to trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker “OTLY” and had nine lead underwriters for its IPO.

The majority shareholder

Oatly was founded in 1994 by Rickard Oste, a professor of food chemistry and nutrition in Sweden, and his brother Bjorn Oste. Working in Malmo, Sweden, they developed a way of processing a slurry of oats and water with enzymes to produce natural sweetness and a milk-like taste and consistency.

Oatly’s image benefited from a roster of celebrity investors, including Oprah Winfrey, Natalie Portman, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company, and Howard Schultz, the former chief executive of Starbucks. All have some connection to the plant-based or healthy living movement.

The majority shareholder is a partnership between an entity owned by the Chinese government and Verlinvest, a Belgian firm that invests some of the wealth of the families that control the Anheuser-Busch InBev beer empire. Blackstone, the giant private equity firm, owns a little less than 8 percent in Oatly.

The company’s growth went into overdrive after Verlinvest bought a majority stake in 2016 via a joint venture with China Resources, a state-owned conglomerate with vast holdings in cement, power generation, coal mining, beer, retailing and many other industries. The new financing helped Oatly to expand in Europe and begin exporting to the United States and China, where many people cannot tolerate cow’s milk. China Resources’ involvement undoubtedly helped open doors in the Chinese market. Asia, primarily China, accounted for 18 percent of sales in the first quarter of 2021, and is growing at a rate of 450 percent a year, according to Oatly.

In Europe, there is growing alarm about Chinese investment in strategic industries like autos, batteries and robotics. The European Commission has begun erecting regulatory barriers to companies with financial links to the Chinese government. But so far no one has expressed fear that China will dominate the world’s supply of oat milk.

Just in case, Oatly’s prospectus gives it the option of listing in Hong Kong if the foreign ownership becomes a problem in the United States.

The Key Markets

Oat milk is part of a larger trend toward food that mimics animal products. So-called food tech companies like Beyond Meat have raised a little more than $18 billion in venture funding, according to PitchBook, which tracks the industry. Plant-based dairy, which in the United States includes brands like Ripple (made from peas) and Mooala (bananas), raised $640 million last year, more than double the amount raised a year earlier.

According to the Plant Based Foods Association and Good Foods Institute, plant-based-food sales reached $7 billion in 2020.

Consumer Insights data quoted in the prospectus says the plant-based milk category will grow 20% to 25% over the next three years.

Oatly is focused on its role in helping to transform the food industry in order to be better for the environment and meet the health needs of its customers. The company points out that substituting a cup of Oatly for a cup of cow’s milk reduces greenhouse gas emissions, land use and energy consumption.

Tastewise, which provides food and beverage data and intelligence, said in a December 2020 report that “plant-based everything” will be one of the top 10 U.S. trends for this year.

Oatly’s key markets are Sweden, Germany and the U.K., though its products were available in 60,000 retail stores and 32,200 coffee shops around the world as of December 31, 2020. Among the places where customers can find Oatly is Starbucks, where demand was so high there was a shortage soon after the coffee chain introduced beverages made with the item.

Oatly arrived in the U.S. in 2017. The company says it “focused on targeting coffee’s tastemakers, professional baristas at independent coffee shops” as a way to enter the market.”

By December 31, 2020, Oatly was in more than 7,500 retail shops and 10,000 coffee shops in the U.S. Revenue in 2020 totaled $100 million in the U.S.

Oatly can also be found in 11,000 coffee and tea shops in China, and at more than 6,000 retail and specialty shops across the country, including thousands of Starbucks locations.

Loss of Warning

In 2020, Oatly had revenue of $421.4 million, up from $204.0 million the year before. However, the company reported a loss of $60.4 million “reflecting our continued investment in production, brand awareness, new markets and product development,” the prospectus said.

Oatly is classified as an “emerging growth company,” which means it does not have to make the same disclosures required of bigger public companies. A business remains an emerging growth company until it reaches a number of milestones, including annual revenue of more than $1.07 billion.

Oatly warns that it has reported losses over the last “several” years and expects operating and capital expenses to rise “substantially.”

“Our expansion efforts may take longer or prove more expensive than we anticipate, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we may not succeed in increasing our revenue and margins sufficiently to offset the anticipated higher expenses,” the company said in its prospectus.

“We incur significant expenses in researching and developing our innovative products, building out our production and manufacturing facilities, obtaining and storing ingredients and other products and marketing the products we offer.”

The dairy market is highly competitive

Oatly acknowledged in its offering documents that it faces fierce competition, including from “multinational corporations with substantially greater resources and operations than us.”

That would include British consumer goods maker Unilever, which said last year that it aims to generate revenue of one billion euros, or $1.2 billion, by 2027 from plant-based substitutes for meat and dairy, for example Hellmann’s vegan mayonnaise or Ben & Jerry’s dairy-free ice cream. Unilever has not announced plans for a milk substitute.

Some industry analysts argue that Oatly’s size gives it an edge over these giants, allowing it to be more innovative than a corporate behemoth. Food start-ups are “younger and faster,” said Patrick Müller-Sarmiento, head of the consumer goods and retail practice at Roland Berger, a German consulting firm.

The established food giants also have a tougher time than newcomers convincing consumers that they are sincere about saving the planet, an important part of the oat milk sales pitch.

Mr. Müller-Sarmiento, the former chief executive of Real, a German chain of big box stores, said meat and dairy alternatives are not having trouble competing with Big Food for precious retail shelf space. “Retailers are urgently looking for new products,” he said.

Time was when Nestlé or Unilever would have simply acquired Oatly, just as they have gobbled up hundreds of other brands. But they would have trouble justifying the audacious $10 billion price that Oatly has set as the benchmark for its stock offering.

Nestlé’s answer was to develop its own milk substitute, Wunda, which the company unveiled this month and plans to sell initially in France, Portugal and the Netherlands. Made from a variety of yellow peas, Wunda is higher in protein than oat milk. Some nutritionists have said that oat milk and other dairy alternatives are a poor substitute for cow’s milk because they don’t have nearly as much protein.

Stefan Palzer, the chief technology officer at Nestlé, took issue with those who say a big company can’t move as fast as a bunch of Swedish foodies. A young team at Nestlé developed Wunda in nine months, including three months of market testing in Britain, Mr. Palzer said in an interview.

Nestlé was able to adapt existing production facilities to make Wunda, rather than building new factories like Oatly must do. The company already had plant scientists who could identify the best kind of pea and food safety experts who could navigate the regulatory approval process, Mr. Palzer said.

The Wunda developers “could have any expert they wanted to have on the project,” Mr. Palzer said. “That enabled them to move at this speed.”

Nestlé already has dairy-free versions of Nesquik drinks and Häagen-Dazs ice cream and sells coffee creamers made from a blend of oat and almond milk using the Starbucks brand. The company is in a major push to develop substitutes for almost any kind of animal product. The next frontier: fish. Nestlé has begun selling a tuna substitute called Vuna and is working on scallops.

“It’s a great opportunity to combine health with sustainability,” Mr. Palzer said of plant-based alternatives to milk and meat. “It’s also a great growth opportunity.”
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Oat Milk Company Oatly to IPO -- Here's What Investors Need to Know
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nOat Milk Company Oatly to IPO -- Here's What Investors Need to Know\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Tiger Newspress
\n
2021-05-19 14:07
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
The largest oat milk company in the world, Oatly, could be going public this weekon Thursday.

The Swedish firm is know for its dairy-alternative products made from oats. The items range from basic oat milk, to even ice cream and yogurt made from oat milk. According to its website, Oatly’s goal is “to make it easy for people to turn what they eat and drink into personal moments of healthy joy without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process.”Oatly confidentially filed for its IPO back in February, then officiallyset terms of the move last week. According to multiple outlets, Oatly will offer about 84.4 million American depositary shares (ADS) at between $15 and $17 per share. In total, the Oatly IPO could reach a $10.1 billion valuation, and the firm hopes to raise $1.1 billion.Additionally, Oatly plans to trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker “OTLY” and had nine lead underwriters for its IPO.The majority shareholderOatly was founded in 1994 by Rickard Oste, a professor of food chemistry and nutrition in Sweden, and his brother Bjorn Oste. Working in Malmo, Sweden, they developed a way of processing a slurry of oats and water with enzymes to produce natural sweetness and a milk-like taste and consistency.Oatly’s image benefited from a roster of celebrity investors, including Oprah Winfrey, Natalie Portman, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company, and Howard Schultz, the former chief executive of Starbucks. The blockage is further stressing an already strained supply chain, said Jon Gold, vice president of supply chain and customs policy for the National Retail Federation.\n“Every day that the vessel remains wedged across the canal adds delays to normal cargo flows,” he said, adding that the trade group’s members are actively working with carriers to monitor the situation and determine the best mitigation strategies. “Many companies continue to struggle with supply chain congestion and delays stemming from the pandemic. There is no doubt the delays will ripple through the supply chain and cause additional challenges.”\nA satellite image shows stranded container ship Ever Given after it ran aground in Suez Canal, Egypt March 25, 2021.\nThe Suez Canal, which separates Africa from Asia, is one of the busiest trade routes in the world, with approximately 12% of total global trade moving through it. Energy exports like liquified natural gas, Crude oil, and refined oil make up 5% to 10% of global shipments. The rest of the traffic is largely consumer products ranging from fire pits to clothing, furniture, manufacturing, auto parts and exercise equipment.\n“The key to this problem hinges on how much longer it will take to move the Ever Given,” explained Alan Baer, President of logistics provider, OL USA LLC. “USA importers face arrival delays of three days right now and this will continue to grow as long as the disruption continues.”\nHorn of Africa\nThe Suez has provided some relief for global importers as they increasingly relied on it last year to avoid massive congestion at West Coast ports in the U.S. that added days, if not weeks, to some deliveries coming from Asia.\nBaer, who has containers on vessels stuck in both lanes of the Suez Canal, said if it stays closed, vessels will be diverted and go around the horn of Africa, which adds an additional seven to nine days to a trip.\nAccording to BIMCO, the largest of the international shipping associations representing shipowners, the bottleneck will only continue to grow and impact supplies.\n“Everyone is making contingency plans as we speak,” said Peter Sand, chief shipping analyst at BIMCO.\nBIMCO\n“Carriers run a third of their Asia trade strings to the U.S. East Coast via the Suez and two-thirds via Panama Canal,” said Baer. “Disruption is also hitting the import trade from India as well as the Middle East.”\nClearing the backlog\nAccording to the World Shipping Council, the Suez canal’s daily vessel throughput capacity is 106. If the canal is closed for two days, it will then take two additional days after re-opening to clear the backlog. The longer the delay, the longer it will take to move out the vessels.\nLars Jensen, CEO of Sea Intelligence Consulting, tells CNBC the schedule reliability for container vessels is already in disarray as a result of the pandemic.\n“Right now two out of three container vessels arrive late,” he explained. “And when they are late, they are on average five days late,” he said, adding that a two-day delay isn’t a major problem. “However, the longer this drags out, the worse it gets because you are then talking about effectively removing vessel capacity as well as containers at a point in time where they are already in short supply.”\nStranded container ship Ever Given, one of the world’s largest container ships, is seen after it ran aground, in Suez Canal, Egypt March 25, 2021.\nInventory impact\nIn addition to delaying thousands of containers loaded with consumer items, the stranded ship has also tied up empty containers, which are key for Chinese exports.\n“Containers are already scarce in China and the backup in the Suez will further stress the inventory,” explained Jon Monroe, maritime trade and logistics consultant with Jon Monroe Consulting. “We are back to a pre-Chinese New Year environment where factories are running at full steam and are struggling to find containers as well as space for their finished goods.”\nThis delay will impact the arrival of U.S. imports that fill store shelves as well as U.S. manufacturing components.\n“Before the Suez Canal disruption, we were expecting the container situation to get worse in April because we were already seeing the scarcity of containers,” said Monroe. “This canal closure will not help. You will start to see product piling up on factory floors.”\nConsumer demand\nChinese manufacturers are responding to the tremendous global orders for their goods. Pandemic lockdowns have fueled consumer demand over the last year. As a result, a continuous historic flow of vessels holding millions of containers is clogging ports and slowing down processing. The delays have been costly.\nNikealong with retailersCrocs,Gap,Peloton,Footlocker,Five Below,William Sonoma,Steve Madden,Whirlpool,Urban Outfitters, and Tesla all cited supply chain problems impacting their business this quarter.\nBrian Bourke, Chief Growth Officer of SEKO Logistics tells CNBC, the blockage is creating the perfect storm for retailers who are struggling to restock.\n“The timing of this could not be worse,” he said. “You have stimulus checks going into the hands of consumers. After every stimulus check, we have seen a huge surge in product volume. We are talking to businesses that are running out of inventory. How can you have a stimulus if you can’t buy anything? Your wait for your couch can be longer than three months.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":70,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3559787818034959","authorId":"3559787818034959","name":"Ericlam","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f2154f4bb8afd22f8e6fde60b57acb69","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"idStr":"3559787818034959","authorIdStr":"3559787818034959"},"content":"Still stucked there","text":"Still stucked there","html":"Still stucked there"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9006473413,"gmtCreate":1641827692744,"gmtModify":1676533651855,"author":{"id":"3572907184723637","authorId":"3572907184723637","name":"ccgcc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d47d167de56d845089589ac7a6f13ddc","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572907184723637","authorIdStr":"3572907184723637"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Why all red","listText":"Why all red","text":"Why all red","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9006473413","repostId":"1130016333","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1130016333","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1641826618,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1130016333?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-10 22:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Semiconductor Stocks Dipped in Morning Trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1130016333","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Semiconductor stocks dipped in morning trading. Shares of the movie chain are down nearly 13% amid a sell-off in the entire group today.
\n
After AMC shares traded as high as USD 62.55 in early June, they have since proceeded to give back ground as investors watched 30% get shaved from the stock’s value.
\n

\n
Short Interest Persists
\n
Short selling activity in AMC remains robust , with short interest hovering at 102.3 million shares as of May 28, as per exchange data cited by financial analytics firm Ortex. The short interest surpassed expectations considering that traders have lost billions of dollars to the WallStreetBets movement as retail investors have gained the upper hand.
\n
With the latest exchange data, AMC’s short interest is estimated to be 12.7% of the stock’s free float, according to Ortex. Short interest in AMC has been as high as 18% recently.
\n
Insider Selling
\n
A couple of significant AMC investors have decided to profit from the latest meme stock craze and cash in some of their holdings. Among them, Howard Koch Jr., the producer of popular flicks including Wayne’s World and Primal Fear, has unloaded more than 14,000 shares in recent days, an SEC filing reveals.
\n
After selling shares at an average price of USD 55.34, he saw a payday of more than USD 790K. Koch, who is also known as Hawk, still owns tens of thousands of shares in the movie stock. Before this month, he hadn’t hit the sell button on the stock in half a decade.
\n
In addition, there was some insider selling. AMC HR executive Carla Chavarria parted ways with more than 40,000 shares of her employer’s stock at an average price of USD 62.67. Shares of the movie chain are down nearly 13% amid a sell-off in the entire group today.\nAfter AMC shares traded as high as USD 62.55 in early June, they have since proceeded to give back ground as investors watched 30% get shaved from the stock’s value.\n\nShort Interest Persists\nShort selling activity in AMC remains robust , with short interest hovering at 102.3 million shares as of May 28, as per exchange data cited by financial analytics firm Ortex. The short interest surpassed expectations considering that traders have lost billions of dollars to the WallStreetBets movement as retail investors have gained the upper hand.\nWith the latest exchange data, AMC’s short interest is estimated to be 12.7% of the stock’s free float, according to Ortex. Short interest in AMC has been as high as 18% recently.\nInsider Selling\nA couple of significant AMC investors have decided to profit from the latest meme stock craze and cash in some of their holdings. Among them, Howard Koch Jr., the producer of popular flicks including Wayne’s World and Primal Fear, has unloaded more than 14,000 shares in recent days, an SEC filing reveals.\nAfter selling shares at an average price of USD 55.34, he saw a payday of more than USD 790K. Koch, who is also known as Hawk, still owns tens of thousands of shares in the movie stock. Before this month, he hadn’t hit the sell button on the stock in half a decade.\nIn addition, there was some insider selling. AMC HR executive Carla Chavarria parted ways with more than 40,000 shares of her employer’s stock at an average price of USD 62.67. She took home USD 2.5 million.\nMeme Stock Meltdown\nSelling today isn’t limited to AMC and has spilled over into several meme-stock names, even the newer ones. GameStop shares are down an eye-popping 20% after the company’s earnings report left investors wanting greater transparency on the rest of the year. BlackBerry, Clover Health and Wendy’s are also under pressure today.\nAs long as the broader stock market remains stuck in its current narrow range, however, the meme stock’s glory days are likely not over yet as investors hunt returns, according to OANDA senior market analyst Edward Moya.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":112,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9005384239,"gmtCreate":1642174025332,"gmtModify":1676533689401,"author":{"id":"3572907184723637","authorId":"3572907184723637","name":"ccgcc","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d47d167de56d845089589ac7a6f13ddc","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572907184723637","authorIdStr":"3572907184723637"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Love disney","listText":"Love disney","text":"Love disney","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9005384239","repostId":"1188903393","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1188903393","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1642172933,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1188903393?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-14 23:08","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Disney falls 3% as Guggenheim downgrades, seeing profit growth moderating","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1188903393","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Walt Disney slipped nearly 3% as Guggenheim downgraded the stock to Neutral after anew look at the p","content":"

Walt Disney slipped nearly 3% as Guggenheim downgraded the stock to Neutral after anew look at the pace of profit growth.

That growth is now below consensus through fiscal 2024, the firm says.
