The three people spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting has not been made public.

Southwest Airlines Co Chief Executive Gary Kelly and the leaders of the airline's unions urged President Joe Biden in a letter not to mandate COVID-19 testing, saying it would put \"jobs at risk.\"

\"Such a mandate would be counterproductive, costly, and have serious unintended consequences,\" said the letter, which was dated Tuesday but released on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the Allied Pilots Association, representing the American Airlines' 15,000 pilots, said \"mandatory pre-flight testing would be unwarranted, logistically impractical, and wasteful, and it would seriously threaten the stability of our industry.\"

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention $(CDC)$ last month said the Biden administration was \"actively looking\" at expanding mandatory COVID-19 testing to U.S. domestic flights. The CDC on Jan. 26 began requiring negative COVID-19 tests or evidence of recovery from the disease from nearly all U.S.-bound international passengers age 2 and older.

The federal government has been mulling additional measures to fight the spread of the coronavirus, but officials said there is no formal proposal on testing currently being circulated within the administration.

On Friday, two senior Boeing Co executives warned the White House that requiring COVID-19 tests before U.S. flights could pose significant economic harm.

CDC officials have repeatedly urged Americans not to travel unless necessary. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said on Monday that additional screening at places where people gather like airports could help detect more asymptomatic cases.

Last week, Sara Nelson, a top aviation union leader, said that new domestic testing requirements could devastate the airline industry.

U.S. Representative Peter DeFazio, chair of the House of Representatives' Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, raised significant concerns about domestic testing requirements in a meeting with Biden last Friday.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told Reuters last week that decisions about domestic testing will be \"guided by facts and by science.\"

(Reporting by David Shepardson; Pandemic support by central banks has been credited with underpinning the global economic recovery, while keeping credit flowing, but also pushing up asset prices to sometimes worrying levels. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was poised for a 19% annual gain for 2021, while the Nasdaq Composite Index advanced about 22%, according to FactSet.Fed Chairman Jerome Powell outlined plans in December to more aggressively reduce the central bank's hallmark $120 billion in monthly pandemic bond purchases, in a bid to combat inflation that's touched 1980s levels. It is targeting March as a potential end date for the program, after about two years. The Fed also penciled in three rated hikes in 2022.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":330,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":382768653,"gmtCreate":1613484970572,"gmtModify":1704881032051,"author":{"id":"3572916274261730","authorId":"3572916274261730","name":"Jiajunishere","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/27251d6e8eba47d16479c7cfffe6c748","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572916274261730","idStr":"3572916274261730"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMD(AMD)$lets go 100","listText":"$AMD(AMD)$lets go 100","text":"$AMD(AMD)$lets go 100","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cd93a8d0f0c929619b0c361d6f906b0d","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/382768653","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":362,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":381350155,"gmtCreate":1612934828677,"gmtModify":1704876201012,"author":{"id":"3572916274261730","authorId":"3572916274261730","name":"Jiajunishere","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/27251d6e8eba47d16479c7cfffe6c748","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572916274261730","idStr":"3572916274261730"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Up coming IPO?","listText":"Up coming IPO?","text":"Up coming IPO?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/381350155","repostId":"1173087883","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1173087883","pubTimestamp":1612934291,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1173087883?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-02-10 13:18","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Gojek Nears Tokopedia Merger Ahead of Public Listing","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1173087883","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Indonesia startups could reach a deal as soon as this monthCompanies to target valuation of $35 bill","content":"

Indonesia startups could reach a deal as soon as this month

Companies to target valuation of $35 billion to $40 billion

Indonesia’s two most valuable startups, ride-hailing giant Gojek and e-commerce provider PT Tokopedia, are finalizing terms for their merger andaiming toreach an agreement as early as this month, according to people familiar with the matter.

The two companies are discussing a variety of scenarios with the goal of ultimately listing the combined entity in both Jakarta and the U.S., said the people, asking not to be identified because the negotiations are private.
