The filing showed that Tencent and its subsidiaries owned a total of 124.11 million shares of June 20, equivalent to an 8% ownership stake. Tencent last reported ownership of 164.24 million shares, which means that it reduced its position by 40.13 million shares, or by 24.44%.

Tencent’s reduction in NIO stock is directly correlated to a deal with CYVN Holdings. Abu Dhabi’s government owns a majority stake in the investment firm. Tencent’s filing reads:

“On June 20, 2023, Image Frame as the seller entered into a stock purchase agreement (the “June 2023 Stock Purchase Agreement”) with CYVN Holdings L.L.C., as the purchaser, to sell 40,137,614 Class A Ordinary Shares of the Issuer to the purchaser for an aggregate consideration of US$350 million. The transfer was completed on June 23, 2023.”

NIO Stock: Tencent Cuts Stake Through Deal With CYVN Holdings

Tencent is the parent company of Image Frame. Last week, it was announced that CYVN would enter into a share subscription agreement with Nio. The agreement states that CYVN will invest $738.5 million into the EV company in exchange for 84.69 million newly issued shares priced at $8.72 apiece. He had already borrowed against about half of his Tesla shares.University of Maryland professor David Kirsch, whose research focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship, said investors started to worry about a \"cascade of margin calls\" on Musk's loans.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":327,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":326771455791352,"gmtCreate":1720811704663,"gmtModify":1720811714269,"author":{"id":"3573262337458421","authorId":"3573262337458421","name":"davzo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e1998ddcc301b60866832d1daa254ce9","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573262337458421","authorIdStr":"3573262337458421"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Everyday grind$UOB(U11.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v> Nvda bearish short term.. for now, can go either way","listText":"Everyday grind$UOB(U11.SI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v> Nvda bearish short term.. for now, can go either way","text":"Everyday grind$UOB(U11.SI)$ Nvda bearish short term.. for now, can go either way","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/9bc5f8332a6953455aa17240a1efa0f2","width":"1125","height":"1476"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/326771455791352","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":324,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":326991598030872,"gmtCreate":1720866162657,"gmtModify":1720866177631,"author":{"id":"3573262337458421","authorId":"3573262337458421","name":"davzo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e1998ddcc301b60866832d1daa254ce9","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573262337458421","authorIdStr":"3573262337458421"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$SIA(C6L.SI)$ ","listText":"$SIA(C6L.SI)$ ","text":"$SIA(C6L.SI)$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/9e63a95c73f8af1da66d843c5d96fa25","width":"972","height":"1631"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/326991598030872","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":259,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9931675574,"gmtCreate":1662459464799,"gmtModify":1676537064750,"author":{"id":"3573262337458421","authorId":"3573262337458421","name":"davzo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e1998ddcc301b60866832d1daa254ce9","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573262337458421","authorIdStr":"3573262337458421"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9931675574","repostId":"2265728701","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2265728701","pubTimestamp":1662383412,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2265728701?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-09-05 21:10","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Steps up Recruiting in Thailand As EV Competition Heats up","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2265728701","media":"Reuters","summary":"Tesla Inc is stepping up recruitment in Thailand, Southeast's Asia automotive hub, with the U.S. ele","content":"

Tesla Inc is stepping up recruitment in Thailand, Southeast's Asia automotive hub, with the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) maker looking to hire a business development manager and recruiters, its website shows.

The job announcements come as demand and interest for EVs in Thailand picks up due to concerns over high energy prices and with government consumer incentives.

Nearly 20 Bangkok-based jobs including a home charging developer were advertised on its website and the position of a charging infrastructure lead was posted on LinkedIn on Monday.

Other vacancies were for vehicle technicians, customer service and a parts adviser.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Thailand is not expected to be a production site for Tesla for now, though the government has been promoting sales of EVs and there is speculation the company might set up official showrooms.

Thailand is Asia's fourth-largest auto assembly and export hub for companies like Toyota Motor Corp and Honda Motor Co Ltd.

It produces about 1.5 million to 2 million vehicles annually, of which about half of which are exported.

Domestic demand for EVs is a crucial part of a Thai government strategy to preserve its status as a top regional automaker.
